Chapter : Eight Encounters
Chapter : 8
"HOW DARE YOU!?" I yelled at the top of my lungs while I tried to strangle my brother
"STOP SHOUTING! Will you?" Aarav yelled back while he jumped out of my reach and climbed up the closet and sat up on the top. I swear he was a monkey in his past life.
"GET DOWN HERE AARAV KUMAR RATHORE AT THIS VERY MOMENT!" I growled
"Whoa, she's using middle names now. If I were you, I'd have come down in an instant." Kajal waved off while she scrolled through my phone.
"I was tired of ignoring and rejecting his calls, okay?" Aarav told me from up there.
"And that's why you gave him MY NUMBER? That is so not an excuse." I fumed.
Aarav threw his hands up in the air and slouched back, seating himself comfortably on the top of the closet.
"Oh look, AK has sent you another text!" Kajal squealed as she looked down at my phone.
I rolled my eyes at her. Of all possible reactions she could muster, this was what she could say. No matter how much I'm trying, it's like Ayushmann isn't getting my gestures. I don't wanna end up creating any more damage and yet he's not giving up.
"What is it?" I asked while I settled down beside her on my bed.
AK: Hey Tanya, I need 2 c u.
AK: Stop ignoring now, would u?
AK: This is the last time I'm trying 2 reach out. Mind the words.
I scoffed at the last message. Thank God he's finally giving up.
Speaking of God, I needed to visit the temple too. I bet God's glaring down at me from the skies above.
"Come on! Quick, reply to him!" Kajal told me.
"Kajal, I'm not texting anybody anything." I declared while I deleted the messages and opened Netflix on the device. Lying down beside my bestie on the bed, I streamed Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth while Aarav literally cried and begged for me to let him go.
"I need to get down." He whined from the closet's top.
"Who's stopping you? Climb down" I told him.
"NO WAY. You're gonna kill me." He said and gave a fake shudder.
While I and Kajal were laughing, we heard the bedroom door click open. Mom peeked inside and looked at me with a curious eye.
"Everything okay kids?" She asked.
"Yeah, except for your son." I said and pointed at my twin seated over the closet while mom looked at Aarav with wide eyes.
"Oh, hi Mom." Aarav said with a waving hand.

"...Please God, Please!" I completed my prayer and rang the temple bell with my right hand and folded my hands once again with hope.
Help me find my poetry book, Please! I spoke mentally.
It's been two weeks since I last wrote any poems and ever since I've lost my notebook, it's like I've lost a part of me. Even Aarav helped me in the search which means he's got nothing to do with the lost notebook.
Sighing, I looked one last time at the idol of God Krishna holding the flute in his hands and then turned to leave. I had descended a few steps of the temple when my eyes caught attention of the little crowd that had gathered at the temple gates. I could see media photographers, reporters, people clicking pictures on their phones.
My eyes widened in disbelief when I spotted him emerge out of the crowds. Ayushmann walked out of the crowd with two guards by his sides. He scanned the crowds of people slowly, like a hawk searching for its prey. I felt myself turn into stone when his brown eyes spotted me and didn't turn away. He was here for me.
What do I do?
AK then gestured the guards to stay where they were and started striding towards me. He was wearing a white shirt and denim jacket matched with distressed faint blue jeans. All I could do while he approached me was to stand where I was with a blank face and heavy breaths.
Once AK came and stood in front of me, I knew he was actually here and that I wasn't hallucinating. His tall frame forced me to look up. His eyes didn't hold any particular emotion and his expression was as serious as it was when he had tripped on my foot at the conference.
"I went to your home today. You're brother told me you'd be here." He said.
Okay, so in my to-do list, the first thing to be done is to kill my brother.
"I think this belongs to you," Ayushmann said as he presented a bright blue notebook. My Notebook!
I looked back at the idol of God Krishna with a glare.
"Why?!" I asked Krishna while AK had confusion lacing his eyes.
"I need to talk to you," AK said.
There's no escaping this time, Tanya.
