A billowing cloud of dust and many pieces of wood rise in the distance around the top of a tree that is barely visible above the town rooftops. Jaune Arc, Ruby Rose, Lie Ren, Penny Polendina, Mecha, and Nora Valkyrie all fall back by the dead cherry tree. Qrow Branwen is still unconscious and propped against it.

The Nuckelavee comes into view, twitching its various body parts. It sends out a shockwave roar that causes all four teenagers to flinch.

The Grimm looks at the teenagers and turns its head to look at Qrow and begins running toward him.

Jaune sheaths his sword and makes a run for Qrow. The Nuckelavee lashes out with one of its arms, able to extend it at a far reach. Jaune avoids it and gets Qrow upright, but the Nuckelavee is heading right for them.

Ren uses his Semblance to hide Jaune and Qrow from the Grimm, which stops short and looks about in confusion. Jaune stands still, staring at the Grimm.

Ren: "Just get him to safety!"

Jaune walks away with Qrow while the battle resumes. He sets Qrow down behind a building and narrows his eyes at the wounded man before turning to leave. Qrow grabs him by the hand, but falls unconscious before he can say anything. Jaune gives Qrow another look before rejoining the fight.

The Grimm is using its arms to grab hold of each of Jaune's teammates, but is continually distracted by the fire of the next one.

Jaune: "Guys, keep moving, go in a circle!"

The team follows this plan, and Ruby gets distracted when Jaune sheaths his sword after landing a strike.

Ruby: "What are you doing?"

He sheathes his sword and releases the side-blades out of the shield, wielding Crocea Mors as a single weapon. She smiles when she realizes that Jaune is using his upgraded Crocea Mors to land strikes on the beast. Ruby fires as Jaune runs in, and he is able to land a successful slash on one of the hindlegs.

The fight continues and Ren ends up pinned to a building by a Nuckelavee extended arm.

Nora: "Ruby!"

Ruby nods, and she uses Crescent Rose to launch Nora in between Ren and the Nuckelavee's would-be fatal strike with its other hand. Magnhild is pinned to the building above Ren, with Nora dangling from it.

Ren looks up at Nora. Nora realized the position she was in and pulled down her skirt to hide herself.

Nora: "Stop looking!"

Ren than realized the position and covered his eyes as well!

"Ah-Ugh."

Nora grins to herself.

The Nuckelavee flings Nora around until she is knocked to the ground with her Aura depleted. Ren uses StormFlower to give himself leverage to pull the Nuckelavee hand off of him. He repeatedly goes after the creature, exhibiting reckless behavior, his eyes wild. Jaune noticed the unusual behavior that Ren is exhibiting now.

Jaune: "Ren! Knock it off!"

Ren ignores him and ends up on the ground beside Nora, separated from StormFlower and his Aura also depleted. The two partners rise together, Nora first. Ren's eyes are only on the creature, and Nora tackles him and drags him under a building.

Penny and Mecha jumped into action. Mecha used his Disco Gun to blast it and cause damage. Penny than used her swords to try and hold it down. But the Nucklavee suddenly moved his arms and wrapped it around the weapon, pull the swords off, and swung her away to a building.

CRASH!!!

Penny went right into the building, but she recovered quickly. Penny than stood up, and activated her speed boost.

Penny than tried to ram herself into the Hybrid Grimm, but the Nucklavee pulled off an unexpected move. It turns in a circle, spins its arms around, and extended it to make it hit.

KSSSHHHHHHHHHIIIINNNNGGGG!!!

Penny got hit in the torso. But that is not the full extent of the damaged. When she crashed into a building, this is the extent of how damaged she has become when she was hit by the Nucklavee.

It has caused a lot of damage to her body, but it did more than that. Her Aura Regulator was also damaged as well. The purpose of the Regulator was to control the Aura inside of her so that it does not go out of control in any other way. But because it is damaged, Aura is beginning to leak out of her.

...she is on the verge of shutting down.

The Nuckelavee advances, but Jaune blocks it with Crocea Mors. Ren attempts to rejoin the fight but Nora holds him back by the wrist, her head down.

Ren: "Nora, let go! Nora, they're going to get hurt if we don't—"

Without even looking up, Nora slaps Ren. He stops and turns to face her, and she finally lets go, putting her hands in her lap.

Nora: "No. I won't let you kill yourself like this. After everything we've been through, I won't let it end."

She raises her head, but Ren sees his memory of Nora as a scared little girl before blinking and seeing her normally. Like back then, she has tears in her eyes.

Nora: "Not like this."

Ren sighs and pulls the knife his father gave him out of his boot.

He holds it in both hands. Nora places her hand on the hilt with his and closes his fingers around it. She looks at him with a fierce, determined expression.

Nora: We can do this.

Ren looks at her with big eyes before nodding in agreement. Together they step out from under the building. Nora picks up Magnhild and the two are promptly joined by Ruby and Jaune.

Penny was in serious trouble. She feels her own being starting to go blank. Time is running out, and she has no idea how to stop it. Mecha is now fighting against the Nucklavee, distracting it from Penny, and make it attack Mecha instead.

Mecha: "Come and get some!"

He used his hard-light sword and stabbed it in the torso, and than used a hard-light Mace, hitting it on the head, but as the Nucklavee is damaged, it grabbed him and flung him away, hard.

"FUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!"

he was sent flying into a house. As he crashed, a crystal than came out of his jacket. It bounced and bounced, until it stopped next to Penny. It is one of Sans' Abyss Crystal. He gave that to him, incase Mecha forgets about him.

She looks at it, and scanned to see that it house immense power. It even could make her stronger, as her scanners say. She was reluctant as first, but seeing that she is fading fast, she than decided.

"Maybe...I can use it."

Using what little strength that she has left, Penny slowly grabbed the crystal, and carefully put it into her regulator. The regulator opens up, and she put the crystal inside, before her torso closes again.

Inside of Penny, a robot with complete cables and wires and complex machinery, her aura in sphere form is starting to fade away, due to the damage from her fight within the Nucklavee. Her aura is about to disappear from the Regulator damaged, as it can no longer sustain it inside of the Android. But than the crystal came in and went next to it. The aura...what is left of it...than goes into the crystal, and the crystal starts glowing green. Than, the machinery began to go online, and the inside than starts to glow bright with a green blinding light.

Penny than sees her vision back online, and sees that she is glowing. She even feels the power of the Abyss Crystal.

'The power...it is so...calm...and it's...so powerful. It is very stable to.'

Her body glows green, and Ruby notices it.

"Penny!!"

She than runs to Penny, but than...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!

Penny exploded in a blast of emerald-green light, with crystals scattering all over the place, some hitting the Nucklavee, which caused significant damage. There is smoke, and Ruby can't see where Penny is. She than starts to look around and try to find her friend.

"Penny, are you okay?! Penny! Penny!!!"

As she looked around, she saw Penny's figure. She was rather unsure if she is still alive.

"Penny?"

When the smoke finally cleared from the crystal explosion that Penny had just demonstrated, she was greeted with quite an amazing sight to behold.

Penny's damage has been healed, thanks to the Abyss Crystal. And that is not all. It has also changed her appearance. She has a vest with green at the middle part of her body, and is worn over a jacket that is a white color, with brown pockets at the sides. The sleeves are also peach and has green at the end, with black fingerless gloves with green around the holes, as well as a black scarf with green on the edges of the scarf itself, as well as a necklace, that has a golden ring. She is wearing pants that stop just below the knees with green in the middle, as well as the sides, and has a belt with her symbol on the buckle, along with a coffin-shaped accessory on her right waist with a rose emblem, and now no longer has the backpack to hold Floating Array. Penny's bow is now red instead of the usual pink. Finally, she wears black shoes with green on the front, sides, and the top. Aside from the clothing, she looks a bit more mature.

Floating Array has also changed. It no longer has the strings to move, and now it can purely levitate, as well as being manifested if she willingly summons it. The appearance is also different. It has now become more smoother and straighter than before, as well as more sharper, and is now glowing green at the bottom and at the handle's tip, while also sparking electricity. There are even Roman Numerals on the base of them going from 1 to 8, which replaces the luminous green power symbols on the swords. She now has Green Abyss Crystals. 3 under each 3 swords, but are above the fourth sword.

Ruby: "Penny? Are you okay?"

Penny than looked and smiled at Ruby.

Penny: "Okay? I feel really great! And more combat ready than I ever was before!"

As if speaking her point, she than used her swords and used the swords to boost to the Nucklavee again. But her speed has increased a lot, because now, it looked like it happened instantly. She hits the Grimm and knocked it to the ground. She than used the swords and struck it. First she spins it and then sends them to the Grimm. Because it is covered in electricity, it caused so much damage.

She than changed the swords and turned to gun mode. The Green Abyss Crystals than glowed, along with the guns. As she fired, not only was the blast bigger and stronger, but crystal shards are hidden inside of the blast. She also suddenly began to summon Green Abyss Chains. They are moving and functioning like the ones that Sans has. It caused a lot of damage and the Nucklavee shrieks in so much immense pain. The Abyss Chains caused its legs to become stone, but it breaks out of it. She than formed a crystal in her hand and threw it into the ground, causing a green crystal spike to appear and pierce the arms.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHH!!!!

The Nucklavee shrieks in pain, but Penny wasn't finished with it just yet. She than brought her swords together, and the 6 crystals went in front of the barrels of the sword's gun mode. As they spun, the energy that is being emitted can be felt. She than fired. The blast that she has is now larger, and has the crystal shrapnel in the blast as well, but this time, they are clearly shown. She blast hit the Nucklavee full in the face, damaging it very severely.
Mecha than looks at what is happening, and than he laughed lightly.

Mecha: "Hehehehehe...that idiot. She absorbed the Abyss Crystal that Sans gave me. Now she can control the Abyss Crystals. And also, her supply of aura...no longer is limited. The Abyss Crystals are said to hold limitless spiritual powers inside of them. This is just proving the facts."

Nora and Ren than went out of the building. Nora than picks up Magnhild and the two are promptly joined by Ruby and Jaune.

Ruby: "Ren. Jaune, Mecha, Penny, and I can take care of its arms."

Nora: "I'll take care of the horse."

Ren: "And I'll take care of the rest."

Nora heads to a rooftop. Ruby uses herself as a target until she manages to pin an arm to the ground with the tip of Crescent Rose. Ren's knife is flung and embeds itself into the body of the Grimm. Jaune is positioned to be the next target as Ren uses Jaune's shield to pin down the other arm. Penny than used her blades and stabbed it in the legs. Mecha used his headlight Hologram Whip and held the Nucklavee down.

Ren: "Now!"

Jaune strikes his sword through the Nuckelavee's arm into the ground.

Ren: "Nora!"

Nora freefalls from the roof to land a killing blow to the head of the horse. Ren retrieves his knife and walks before the trapped Grimm.

Ren: 'For my mother.'

He cuts off the Grimm's left arm.

Ren: 'For my father.'

He cuts off the Grimm's right arm.

Ren: 'For all those that you've slain.'

He strikes a gash into the flailing torso.

Ren closes his eyes.

Ren: "For myself."

He opens his eyes and swings with the knife, beheading the grimm. It dies in a pillar of black smoke. Ren drops the knife and breathes out a sigh of relief only to be tackled by a giggling, triumphant Nora. He hugs her back and gives a single laugh. Penny and Mecha smiled at the sight, before Penny kisses Mecha in the lips. Mecha was surprised, but he kissed back to her as well.

Ruby runs into the alley where Qrow was left during the fight. She breathes a sigh of relief that he is still alive.

Qrow: "It's quiet. Good job, kiddo."

The other half of Ruby's group came in and saw Qrow. They immediately gave him medicine, which heals him of the venom that infected him. Jaune than heard the sound of thrusters, and reminds everyone.

Jaune: "Guys! I think I hear something!"

In the courtyard two wood and metal airships are coming in to land; Nora points in Qrow's direction.

A man in a brown flight suit with an air tank on his back carries Qrow on a green stretcher with Ruby walking alongside them, her hand on Qrow's shoulder.

The two rescue ships take off, everyone on board.

Jaune: "How did you find us out here?"

Mistral Pilot: "We were on patrol and saw the smoke. Nobody's been out here for years, thought something might be wrong."

Ruby: "What if we don't make it in time?"

Jaune: "Ruby."

She looks up and sees the flourishing city before them.

Ruby: "We made it, Uncle Qrow."

Yang: "Yeah...Uncle Qrow. We finally have made it now."

Summer than put both of her hand on her daughters. They turned and hugged her. Summer than hugged them back.

Nora and Ren sit on the edge of the open rescue airship, their legs dangling. Nora is looking out at the city, feeling happy. Ren is watching her, begins smiling and puts his hand on hers. She gives a slight start but turns her hand over to hold his. She looks at him and gives him a smile, and he smiles back.

Nora scoots closer and rests her head on his shoulder.

Penny does the same to Mecha, as they both rest with one another, happily. After a little bit or so, Mecha sits straight, and looks at Penny, really confused at how she was able to use the Abyss Crystal as a new power core.

Mecha: "Say, Penny. How did you pull that trick off with the Abyss Crystal there?"

Penny: "I thought that because of its immense power, I believed that it could give me a boost up with my power."

Mecha: "Well, it is said that the Abyss Crystals have great spiritual power. So I guess that counts. Still, I'm impressed that you pulled it off."

She nodded, before using a pad, and plugged it into her own right arm. Mecha Sans than used X-Ray vision, just to see what she truly looks like now, on her arm, at least.

Penny than looked at the results. What she sees shocked her. Because of the Abyss Crystal now as a new core, she no longer has to recharge while she sleeps. She has an infinite supply of aura. She can just move for as long as she wants. Penny than turns and spoke to Mecha, who's very interested.

"Guess you were right on that one, Mecha."

Penny smiled, before kissing him in the head, while Mecha kisses the cheek. After a minute, Mecha felt like he needed to be more entertained. So he spoke to Penny.

"Say, Penny. I'm getting bored. Do you want to race to the city?"

He spoke, pointing to where it is. Penny looked, before smilingly him.

"Alright than, let's go, by flight!"

Mecha nodded, before spreading his arms, with his coattails attaching to the wrists of his sleeves, and going into flight. Penny used her swords, made a jet pack, while she is also flying fast, to.

The airships fly in to the city. But Mecha and Penny are flying at very fast speeds. They leave behind a trial of both blue and green.

A minute later...

Ruby walks into a double bed accommodation. It has barren furnishings: two beds, a large desk and a nightstand. Qrow sleeps under the blankets of one of the beds. Ruby sets the collapsed Crescent Rose on the empty bed and walks over to Qrow, putting her hand on his head.

She walks over and sits at the desk, picking up the pen and writing on the notepad.

Hey bro, I hope my letters have been reaching you and your Team. Hand-written stuff's never been super reliable, but I guess it's all we've got these days. Anyway, in case you haven't been getting them, I want to say I'm sorry for not saying goodbye to you. I know you told me it was a reckless idea to go to Haven Academy, and after everything I've been through, I can definitely say you were right. It's been hard, on all of us, and I'm not just talking about the monsters we fought out here.

Sans is seen walking to the military, he and the others nodded, and they walk there.

"Every step we made took us further and further from the things we knew. And every morning we woke up wondering, if just over the next hill would be something good or something terrible."

Blake is than seen in Ghira Belladonna's office. She places a small chest on the desk and opens it. Inside are various objects, including a flag with the new White Fang emblem, a spiral notebook and a book.

"It's scary not knowing what's going to happen next. And the things we do know now—just how bad it can get—it almost makes it all worse."

Obscruo is looking through the orb, seeing that Salem is planning and about to do.

Taiyang Xiao Long stares at a framed photo of Team STRQ.

"You told me once that bad things just happen. You were angry when you said it, and I didn't want to listen. You were even angry with all the times we had hurt you. But you were right, bad things do happen, all the time, every day. Which is why I'm out here, to do whatever I can, wherever I can, and hopefully do some good.

Zwei barks at Tai, and he smiles, looking across the room at a framed photo of Team RWBY. On the photo, "New Friends!!!" is written with a heart shape drawn near the writing.

Jaune is in his room with a frustrated look on his face as he stares at Crocea Mors propped up against the wall.

"But if we gave up every time we lost, then we'd never be able to move forward."

Nora and Ren open the door. Jaune smiles as Ren sets his father's dagger next to Crocea Mors. Nora sits beside Jaune and leans on him, while Ren sits on the bed behind them and rests his hand on Nora's shoulder.

"We'd never have a chance to see what beautiful things the future might have waiting for us. We'd never have the strength to change; whether it's ourselves, or the world around us."

Both Mecha and Penny are seen flying to the city at incredibly fast speeds. But as they are both flying, Penny than suddenly goes above him, and held both of his hands into both her own hands. Mecha was surprised at what Penny has just displayed now, but he doesn't care, and they hugged each other, going up into the sky. Obviously, they have a lot of love to one another.

"And we'd never be there for other people who might one day be lost without us. This is what we were training for, Yang, to become Huntresses, to be the ones to stand up and do something about all the bad in the world."

The Captain and First Mate smile and wave goodbye as Sans flies fast away from the houses, headed toward the military. Elsewhere, Oscar sits in the dining car of the train as it crosses a bridge surrounded by mountains and water. He is staring at a poster advertising Haven Academy. The poster shows two figures: a female with an axe and a male with a rifle. The poster reads: "HAVEN ACADEMY: BE A HERO".

Train announcer: "Approaching, City of Mistral."

"Because there are plenty of people out there who are still lost and even more who will try to gain everything they can from their sorrow."

Ilia and Trifa looked at Blake, and they both smiled at one another. Ilia's parents are happy that their daughter is happy.

"Believe me when I say, I know it can feel impossible, like every single day is a struggle against some unstoppable monster we can never hope to beat."

"But we have to try, if not for us, then for the people we've already..."

Ruby stops and crosses out the last few

"Then for the people we haven't lost yet."

As Ruby finishes writing, the note is shown and two tears fall on the page.

Ruby: "I miss you so much. I miss your Team and Blake too. But I think you'd all be proud to know that I made it to Mistral. All of us did, and we even ran into Uncle Qrow along the way."

Qrow pushes himself over with one arm and grunts while propping up his head with the other hand. Ruby stops writing to check on him.

Qrow: "Hey, aren't I normally the one saving you?"

Ruby wipes tears from her right eye and smiles down at Qrow. The narration of Ruby's letter resumes as the corner where Qrow's Weapon and Ozpin's Cane are resting is shown.

"He's going to take us to see Professor Lionheart, the headmaster of Haven Academy. And he told us some things that you're gonna wanna hear, things I can't trust will make it to you in this letter. But maybe, if you join us, he could tell you himself. With Beacon gone they'll need Dad at Signal more than ever, and I know you need to focus on yourself before I can expect you to come out with me. But it sure would be great to get Team RWBY back together again."

Sans than looks at the weapons scattered in the floor, all overheated. He than remembered Ruby always cares for weapons, or obsessed. He than remembered Ruby. He chuckled and spoke out

"Ruby...when I find you...we have a lot to discuss."

"Until next time, your loving sister and girlfriend , Ruby Rose."

Sans smiled, before getting ready to work on the machines.

"Oh! Uh, PS. I'll be sure to give you the address of where we're staying in Mistral! I'd love to hear back from you and Dad, and I can't wait to fill you in on whatever's going to happen next! Now that we've made it across Anima I really think things are gonna start going our way."

Timeskip...hours later...

Qrow is now seen sitting at a bar sometime later, fully healed from his wound. His family were able to get some medicine that helped get rid of the entire Venom that Tyrian has injected into his body, even if it was just a simple scratch to the stomach. As he kept on drinking, Oscar approaches him from behind.

Oscar: "Excuse me?"

Qrow turns around to face Oscar.

Qrow: "You know, I don't think they allow kids in here, pipsqueak."

Oscar looks at his left arm at it moves.

Oscar: "Shut up, I'm getting there."

Qrow gives him a questioning look.

Oscar: "Um, I'm supposed to tell you, I'd like my cane back?"

Qrow's eyes widen for a moment in surprise.

Qrow: "It's good to see you again, Oz."

Qrow withdraws Ozpin's Cane in its compact mode and tosses it to Oscar, who presses a button on the hilt, extending the baton. Oscar grasps the baton with the other hand, surprised, before looking at Qrow with a determined face.
