Chapter 25
"What is going on here?" (Y/n) gasped in bewilderment.
The restaurant they were supposed to dine at was covered in festive ornaments, buffet tables were spread out with her favorite delicacies, and her best portraits from all stages of life were displayed along the four walls of the establishment. Her friends and family are all present (mostly the ones that she likes) cheering for them as they arrive. A group of musicians filled the room with joyful music, all renditions of her favorite pop songs (they kind of remind her of the Bridgeton balls).
"Dimitri, what is this all about? It's not my birthday."
"It's our first weeksary, darling. How can you forget?" he chuckled, the sound deep and sexy.
"I know that this is the first week of our relationship but I didn't expect you to be this... Extravagant about it. I would have liked something more intimate."
"Well then, notes taken for our second weeksary. But for now, happy first weeksary, baby." Dimitri's eyes were loving and gentle as he gave her lips a sweet kiss.
"Happy first weeksary, Dimitri. Good thing I took a bath and dressed up."
Dimitri laughed as he guided her through the crowd, keeping an arm securely on her waist. In a sea of people, he needs to show them who this woman belongs to. "You'd still be the most gorgeous woman in here, beloved. You're unparalleled."
"God, you are so in love with me. It's kind of creepy but in a sexy way cuz you're so hot."
"Why, thank you, darling."
He brought her to a small stage where they faced the crowd gathered for their party. (Y/n) could clearly see the faces of all those in attendance. She instantly recognized her friends, some relatives, and Dimitri's closest subordinates. From her perspective, at least a hundred people were staring at her right now.
She felt quite conscious to be ogled at by so many people but Dimitri's hold on her body gave her some reassurance. One of the staff handed him a microphone and (Y/n) grimaced slightly at the thought of having to speak in public.
Dimitri stood tall and proud like an emperor addressing his subjects. It was both intimidating and awe-inspiring. He was utterly charismatic as he spoke.
"I would like to thank everyone for attending this event on such short notice." he began, his voice immediately commanding attention. "I invited you all here to join me and my clever goddess to celebrate our first weeksary. She finally said yes." The crowd cheered, filling the room with merriment and applause.
"I first confessed to her two months ago but she rejected me because she said I was a red flag. Thankfully, I finally convinced her that the red flag only means that our relationship is going to be spicy." This earned laughs and hoots making (Y/n) smile.
"(Y/n), I just want to tell you that I may not be your prince charming, but I will always be your big bad wolf. I can see you better, hear you better, and eat you better."
The crowd went wild at his sensual insinuation leaving her flustered. She hid her face on his shoulder, the tips of her ears were so red in embarrassment. She couldn't believe that Dimitri actually said that in front of at least 100 people. How can she go back to school and attend family reunions when everybody knows that her boyfriend services her in that kind of way? Things will never be the same.
"I would like to raise a toast. To you, the bane of my existence, the chaos of my mind, and the moon that never set in this dark life of mine. I love you, (Y/n)."
"I adore you too, Dimitri." Not the kind of woman to be defeated so easily, (Y/n) pulled him by his tie, her fingers holding his chin so she could kiss him and mark her territory in front of everyone.
The party commenced and there was a lot of dancing, drinking, dining fine cuisine, and dreaming of a love just like theirs. They roamed the room, greeting guests, and socializing with everyone they liked. Many brought presents and congratulated them on their extravagant affair. It was a bit exhausting but also fun. It was a taste of the life of luxury she would spend with Dimitri and somehow she finds it exhilarating.
Once they've performed their duties as hosts, they decided to spend leisure time with each other. They perused through the wall where their photos were displayed reminiscing their fond moments.
"How cute, you unearthed my old childhood pictures. Even the ones with my mom." (Y/n) mused, nostalgia swimming in her heart.
"Does it upset you? I'm sorry, I suppose that was a bit insensitive on my part." Dimitri said, actually sounding apologetic this time.
"No, it's perfect. I love it." Dimitri simply nodded as they walked on.
"That's interesting. I've never seen these pictures of me before. These are pictures of me when I was born. Where did you get these?"
"Your grandmother doesn't have enough baby pictures of you. She only had 50, it was too few for me so I went to the hospital where you were born and got them there." Dimitri casually said, swirling his drink in his hands before taking a sip.
"Wait, what?" (Y/n) couldn't hide the look of alarm and confusion on her face. She was about to confront him about it but a certain gentleman stepped forward interrupting their conversation.
The gentleman appeared to be in his senior years, but he exuded a dignified and striking presence like a formidable tower. His strong resemblance to Dimitri made him look like an older version of the assassin.
Like the younger Morozov, he adorned himself in impeccably tailored suits that accentuated his charm and esteemed position in society. Flanking his side were two big burly men who looked frigid but deadly, adding to the sense of strength and authority he projected.
"Dimitri, it's been so long." said the elderly man. Dimitri immediately embraced him and kissed his cheeks before pulling away to present her.
"Grandfather, this is (Y/n) she is the love of my life. (Y/n) this is my grandfather, the great Vladimir Morozov."
"Come closer dear let me see you," said Vladimir with his thick Russian accent. (Y/n) complied with a mix of caution. The man beheld her with a gentle smile before hugging her and kissing her cheeks.
"Absolutely beautiful. You are a thing of art, my dear. Thank you for making my Dimitri so happy. I've never seen him dedicate himself like this. Please take good care of my grandson and if you need anything, Dedushka is here to help." he was gentle as he spoke to her but when he turned his head to address his subordinate his tone became fierce.
"Antoine," he called. The said man grunted like a bear making (Y/n) blink. "Give her the thing."
Antoine pulled out a string of keys from his breath pocket and handed it to her. (Y/n) gingerly accepted it but thanked him anyway.
"What's this, Dedushka?" asked Dimitri.
"Sorry, my beloved child, I could not prepare a better gift. Instead, I'll lend you this property I have in Saint Tropez. You should vacation there sometimes and maybe make more great-grandchildren for me." The old man gave a hearty laugh making (Y/n) smile.
"What use do you have for grandchildren when he already makes me call him daddy?" (Y/n) teased, a mischievous smirk dancing on her lips.
"(Y/n)," Dimitri chided, lightly holding her arm. This made Vladimir laugh. It was a loud and cheerful sound despite being gruff due to his old age. His guards coughed.
"Well, you embarrassed me in front of my friends and family I figured I'd give you a little payback," she replied, winking at him.
"This one is an interesting girl, Dimitri! Never let her go, I feel that she is the one. Oh, child that one shook my heart. Even stone-cold Ivan and Antoine were laughing boisterously like a pair of fools. Look at them!" (Y/n) glanced at the two burly men who remained passive and expressionless. Perhaps that little cough was really their version of a boisterous laughter.
"Ivan, give her the thing," Ivan grunted and pulled out something from his breast pocket. (Y/n) once again accepted them gingerly and thanked the burly man. This made her wonder how he knew specifically what thing the elderly man was talking about. Is there a special intonation for different kinds of objects or something?
"I'll give you one of my credit cards. Do with it whatever you wish, you are now part of my family since my grandson loves you so much. The other one is my contact, it costs more than everything that card can buy but feel free to call Dedushka if you feel like it. I will always answer."
"Thank you, Grandpa. I will use them wisely and inform you firsthand if Dimitri and I make a little junior."
"Ah, I like this one. Very clever, very charming." Vladimir lightly slapped Dimitri’s arm, a grin stretching across his lips. "Treat her like a queen, Dimitri. She reminds me of the girl I courted back in the day. She also resembles her a little. Sweet, gorgeous Seraphina was a feisty one."
"I'm sorry, who?"
"Anyway, I have something I need to attend. I just dropped by to congratulate my favorite grandson and meet you, little dove. Dimitri, your present is already at the airport. See it when you have the time." Vladimir kissed them both one last time before heading out with his bodyguards.
"Did I hear that right? Your grandpa said he dated someone named Seraphina who looks like me?" (Y/n) clarified, a look of suspicion stretched on her face.
"Might be a different person."
"Let's hope for both our sanities that it is. For now, I think I'll grab a bite and drink with my bitches. How about you?"
"I'll blend with the shadows and watch you from afar. You're not allowed to talk to any man for longer than five minutes."
"Fine, creepy, but okay." (Y/n) kissed his cheek before running off to go to her friends.
🌹
"Monica! Belinda! Jessica! Abegail! Elizabeth! Serenity! Are you ready to party?!"
"Yes, bitch!!!" They said in unison.
"Does anyone know where Eidanne is? I couldn't find the little bitch anywhere?"
"She said she's on her way. Your grandma met a friend of hers and now they're delayed. But anyway, how did you like this event? We helped Dimitri plan the decor." said Jessica, handing her a glass of champagne.
"He paid us big time to prep this place," added Monica, making her smile wider.
"I love it! It's awesome. Thank you, guys!"
"You finally found a man who could love you back plus he's super rich! Praise be to Cupid!" Belinda joked making everybody cheer.
"Yeah! But quick question though, why is Tristan here?"
The redhead raised his hand in greeting, a sheepish smile stretching on his lips as the girls all looked at him. "Hi, girls. Can I join you? The guys are very loud and violent. I'm afraid that one of them with step on me and I'll die instantly." The girls looked at each other sharing an entire conversation without even needing words. They turned to him when the coven finally made a decision.
"It's okay, sure. We see no problem with that," Jessica announced making him smile.
"Yeah, he seems like a nice guy anyway," added Abegail.
(Y/n) and her friends (plus Tristan) drank every single drink on the menu before taking to the dance floor. They spun and laughed, swaying to the music being blasted through the speakers as the lights made their figures dazzle. They took turns singing on the stage and cheering for each other in an endless cycle of fun.
Long forgotten are the pair of pale eyes that only follow one maiden.
