Chapter 21
"Trismegistus, stay on comms. Keep us updated."
"Yes, boss. Miss (Y/n) told me to tell you not to die since you're not yet married and she wouldn't get anything if you die now."
"Okay, tell her I love her too."
"We're not in grade school passing love notes to each other. Please focus on the mission, boss."
"Do it or you're fired."
He could hear the hacker sighing in exasperation on the other side. "Understood.
Dimitri turned to his team. "We move in silently. No unnecessary noise," he ordered, his voice a low growl.
The team nodded, their expressions set in grim determination. The Belladonnas are already out of sight ready for their own mission. Dimitri led the way like a wolf to his pack. His movements were fluid and precise, adrenaline steadily coursing through his body. He felt the weight of his weapons, the familiar weight that brought a sense of control and power.
They breached the entrance of the 30th floor where the sounds of a skirmish immediately reached their ears. Gunfire, shouts, and the occasional explosion echoed through the halls. Dimitri signaled his team to split up, each taking a different path to maximize their impact.
Dimitri moved like the wind, his training kicking in as he navigated the corridors with lethal precision. Cerberus guarded his back, moving with him like a terrifying shadow.
They encountered the first group of enemies near the central control room. With swift calculated movements, he dispatched them with deadly accuracy. His silenced pistol took out two before they even knew he was there. The third turned only to meet Dimitri's knife and a quick silent death. Cerberus dealt with the others and they proceeded to the next area.
They met with some of his employees who had been fighting relentlessly for a while now and Dimitri immediately ordered them to seek medical attention from the Garden's medics.
The control room was a mess, monitors shattered, and wires hanging loose. Everything was riddled with bullet holes and every corner was painted with blood. Dimitri scanned the area ensuring it was clear before moving on. He knew the enemy would be deeper inside where they could fortify their position.
As he advanced, Dimitri encountered more resistance. A burst of gunfire forced him to take cover behind a reinforced column. Cerberus did the same but not before a bullet grazed his shoulder. He winced and paused for a bit to tend to his wound. It wasn't very deep so they didn't worry too much. He could still fight.
Dimitri peeked out, assessing the situation. There were five of them, heavily armed and ready for a fight.
Dimitri moved with the agility of a panther, emerging from cover to take down two enemies with precise headshots. He rolled to avoid incoming fire, his movements a blur of speed and efficiency. He closed the distance, engaging the remaining enemies in brutal hand-to-hand combat. His strikes were powerful and lethal, each movement designed to incapacitate or kill.
Knives flew in from an unknown direction finishing off the rest of them. It was curtesy of Belladonna 618 who moved to her next location without even being seen. More enemies poured in and his team retaliated to the gunfire with unrivaled ferocity.
In the midst of the chaos, Dimitri spotted a familiar face. Joseph Stravage stood at the end of the corridor. He was flanked by his personal guards. Their eyes locked and for a moment time seemed to stand still.
Hostility sparked between them like live wires. Hatred shimmered in his blood along with all his pent up emotions.
"Stravage," Dimitri growled, his voice dripping with venom. "Your time is up."
Stravage smirked, a cold, calculating look in his eyes. "We'll see about that, Morozov."
"I've got your friend up there on the rooftop. Xavier Zandor was my replacement, wasn't he?" Dimitri gritted his teeth. Despite their differences, Zandor was still loyal to their organization. Dimitri would not betray his trust.
"If you want him back we settle this between the two of us. Man to man." Stravage turned and went away to the said location. Dimitri growled knowing that he's practically walking into a trap but what choice does he have if he wants to end it all.
There shall be no mercy nor glory in this fight. There's only cold, hard Vengeance.
Dimitri followed after Stravage with Cerberus on his tail to cover his back. They burst into the rooftop where Stravage awaited him. The rooftop was bathed in dim fluorescent light, casting long shadows over the concrete expanse. Stravage stood in the center, a smug expression on his face. Behind him, bound and bruised, was Xavier Zandor.
Blood dripped from the assassin's face. He was badly beaten but Dimitri could still see the ferocity in his eyes. "Aidoneus," Zandor rasped, struggling against his bonds. "It's a trap! Get out of here you, motherfucker! I'll handle this."
"I don't think you're in a position to be that arrogant, Thanatos." Dimitri replied, his eyes never leaving Stravage as he reloaded the magazine of his gun. "Just sit back and watch. My girlfriend took kidnapping way better than you."
"She poisoned herself to get away from you, asshole!"
Cerberus took position near the entrance, ready to provide cover. Stravage's guards stepped forward, but he waved them back.
"This is between me and him," Stravage declared. "Let’s see if the King of Assassins can still hold his crown."
Dimitri and Stravage began to circle each other, their movements were hostile but calculated. The tension was palpable, the air thick with anticipation. Stravage struck first, a quick jab aimed at Dimitri's face. Dimitri dodged, countering with a powerful kick to Stravage's midsection. The blow connected, but Stravage barely flinched. He retaliated with a series of rapid punches, forcing Dimitri to block and parry.
The fight escalated, each man pushing the other to their limits. They moved with deadly grace, their training evident in every strike and counter. Dimitri felt the sting of a knife slash across his arm, but he ignored the pain, focusing on the fight.
Stravage was relentless, his attacks coming faster and harder. Dimitri managed to land a few solid hits, but Stravage seemed almost impervious. A particularly vicious blow to Dimitri's ribs sent him sprawling to the ground, gasping for breath.
"Is this the best you’ve got?" Stravage taunted, standing over him. "Dimitri, you wouldn't mind, would you? If I fuck that gorgeous bitch of yours once you're dead? You may be an asshole but you sure have good taste in women I'll give you that."
Dimitri forced himself to his feet, his vision swimming but fury steadily coursed through his veins. "Fuck off! I’m just getting started," he growled, launching himself at Stravage with renewed rage.
The two men clashed again, their movements a blur of violence. Dimitri's body screamed in protest, every injury and exhaustion taking its toll. Stravage's knife found its mark again, slicing a deep gash across Dimitri's thigh. He staggered, nearly falling, but sheer willpower kept him upright.
Stravage smirked, sensing victory. "It’s over, Morozov."
Dimitri's mind raced. He needed to turn the tide. Summoning every ounce of strength, he feigned another stumble, luring Stravage in. As Stravage closed in for the kill, Dimitri struck. His fist connected with Stravage’s jaw in a devastating uppercut, followed by a series of rapid strikes that left Stravage reeling.
Stravage fell back, blood streaming from his nose. He roared in anger, calling for backup. Within moments, the rooftop was swarming with enemies, all converging on Dimitri.
Dimitri stood his ground, prepared to fight to the death. The odds were overwhelming, and he knew this might be the end but he was determined to take as many of them down with him as he could.
Just as the first wave of attackers closed in, a series of explosions rocked the rooftop. Smoke filled the air and through the chaos Dimitri saw Belladonna 618 and her team moving in with lethal precision. They cut through the enemy ranks with ease, their expertise with explosives and tactical combat turning the tide.
Dimitri seized the opportunity and pushed forward through the chaos. He reached Stravage who was trying to rally his remaining forces. The two men locked eyes once more and Dimitri knew this was the final moment.
With a roar, he launched himself at Stravage. The fight was brutal and desperate, both men giving their all. Stravage's knife found its mark on his side. Although it did not pierce the fabric the impact was still real. Pain flared, but Dimitri ignored it. He used his strength to deliver a series of crushing blows.
Stravage staggered, his defenses crumbling. Dimitri seized him by the throat, lifting him off the ground.
"This is for everyone you’ve hurt," Dimitri growled, his voice filled with undiluted animosity. He threw Stravage on the cold hard ground and pulled his gun from its holster. Pulling the safety, Dimitri shot his tendons preventing him from running away.
The Assassin King slowly approached his prey who tried to crawl away. His screams of pain reverberated, his earlier smugness had long since died. "All this effort, all this misery, all this pathetic excuse for a revenge. Fucking useless." Dimitri hissed, pointing the gun to his head.
"Oh, it wasn't useless. Daddy dearest is watching. Daddy dearest knows everything." Joseph laughed, the sound strangled and ominous. "He's going to kill you. Your own father is going to kill you and this is just a test drive."
"What do you mean?"
"Morozov has a dirty little secret that you never knew about. Something that your beloved girlfriend will hate you so much for. She will want you dead... like her mother." Stravage laughed maniacally. Dimitri decided to pull the trigger. Joseph's brain burst to pieces, sprawling brightly all over the floor.
Whatever reason he had for all of this bullshit, Dimitri wasn't interested to know. However, the threat of (Y/n) hating him because of something his father did... That unnerved him.
Dimitri stood over his corpse and gazed at the scene around him. The battle was over, but the war was far from won.

Belladonna 618 approached Xavier and began undoing the chains that bound him. "Wow, you're really cute when you're all beaten up like that. This is a better look on you than that annoying smugness you always wear." commented the Executioner.
Xavier glared at her but this did not faze the Belladonna. "Shut the fuck up you, fat bitch. Once I get out of here I swear to you that I'm going to burn you to ashes like what you did to my car."
"Ungrateful. After all that I've done to save your life, you threaten me. You know that I'm strong enough to throw you out of this building, right?"
"Shut up and get me out of here, chub chub."
"You're not very creative with your insults. Stravage should have just killed you so that I could take your job. I bet that I can be a better Thanatos than you."
Xavier rolled his eyes but a smile unknowingly had made its way to his lips. "As if you could, little flower."
"Oh, no your leg is broken. I should bring you to the medic by carrying you like the helpless little bitch that you are." Eidanne mused with mischief.
"Fuck you!"
"Eww, I don't wanna."
"If you dare touch me I will kill you in your sleep."
"Boss, Thanatos is being mean to me when I was just trying to help him!" yelled the Belladonna.
"Thanatos, behave." Dimitri thoughtlessly said as he spoke with an Iris.
"This is going to be so shameful for you."
"Oh this is just fun-fucking-tastic." Xavier groaned, making Belladonna 618 giggle. She lifted him up effortlessly in her arms as if he weighed nothing before proceeding to bring him to the medics.

"We did it," Cerberus said. His voice was steady despite the chaos that they just went through.
Dimitri nodded, his gaze fixed on the horizon. "This is just the beginning. We need to rebuild stronger than before."
"We will." Cerberus assured him, placing a hand on his shoulder before moving off to assist some Belladonnas who got injured during the fight.
With the base secured and Stravage defeated, Dimitri and his team regrouped. The fight had been hard, but they had emerged victorious. Despite this there are still some things they need to take care of. As they moved to clear the remaining enemies and secure their territory, Dimitri couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. Joseph's last words echoed in his mind.
His father knows everything.
