My body was completely numb after just a few minutes. Even my arm that was still above the snow was immobile. Each breath I took filled my lungs with ice cold air. "God dammit what is with death and I. It's like it's after me at all times". I began to close my eyes but as soon as I did I heard the sound of crunching snow nearby. I snapped my eyes open and listened intently. "{Y/N}.....{Y/N}". It was Dimitri's voice. I knew I didn't have much energy left but I had to give some signal as to where I was. "DIMITRI I"M HERE" I managed to gasp out from underneath the snow. "Please hear me". I heard the footsteps start speeding up then stop right above me. "Thank Death". I felt warm hands grab my cold one and pull with all the willpower he had. After several minutes I was atop the snow panting for fresh air. "I'm so glad you're okay" Dimitri beamed as he pulled me into a hug. "Y..yeah b..but I...I'm a bit c...cold" I stuttered. Dimitri pulled off his backpack and pulled out a blanket and wrapped it around me tightly. I gripped it to myself and blew warm air onto my frozen fingers. I glanced up as I heard new footsteps. It was the woman I had saved earlier.

        "I..I just wanted to say thank you...for saving my life" She whispered. "No thanks...but hey...why are you out here in this cold..if you don't mind me asking" I asked. The woman looked down at her boots. "You see...I'm a mountain climber and I've nearly climbed every mountain...except this one" She explained. "It's the most dangerous mountain in the world. It's avalanches are quite common and the weather during the night is 30 below freezing." I nodded at her response. "Well...if you're still ganna climb it....be careful...." I advised a bit worried for her. She nodded. "I'm glad you survived...." she added before taking off. I watched her until she was out of sight. "Hey we should head back" Dimitri snapped me out of my daze. I nodded and forced my rigid self to stand up. "Let's get home before I freeze to death" I joked.

Time Skip 3 hours~

        I spotted Death City ahead of us and sighed. Dimitri gave me a weird look but quickly turned away when I caught his eye. We entered the city and walked through the dark streets. It was well after midnight and that means kishins were roaming everywhere. I kept my guard up until we reached the steps of the DWMA. I sighed in relief as we began climbing the endless amount of stairs. Once we were inside the building we headed towards the Death room. Dimitri pushed open the doors for me and we traveled down the hallway of guillotines. I looked ahead and felt my heart drop. Kid was talking with his father. Dimitri of course didn't seem affected at all by the fact my ex boyfriend was standing just 3 feet away. I waited patiently for Kid and Death to end their conversation. I glanced over at Liz and Patty who were both giving me evil glares...well Liz was anyway. Patty was just daydreaming...about giraffes most likely. I was too busy zoning out in my own thoughts to realize Dimitri was now explaining to Death what had happened since I completely missed his cough to get my attention. I sighed and turned around to see Kid and the Thompson sisters walking away. "One more time..."

        I took up a deep breath and summed up the courage to run after Kid. "Kid wait..please" I pleaded as I slowly caught up to him. "Damn he walks fast". Kid stopped and he whispered something to Liz. I saw her sigh but the grab Patty and lead her away. Kid turned around and shoved his hands into his pockets. "What is it {Y/N}" he muttered. "Kid I need to explain why..." I started. "Oh why you left me...you told me already..very clearly and coldly if I do say so myself. You told me you did not love me anymore. I'm not as stupid as you may think I am. I know what I don't love you anymore means {Y/N}" Kid hissed. I was taken back by his icy words but I shook by head and regained my composure. "No Kid that's no" "Oh...I get it...you just wanted to deepen the wound a bit more...well {Y/N}....you hurt me enough. I trusted you. I gave you my heart. I did everything I possibly could to keep you safe. But I know..the entire relationship was a scam. You're just like any normal human girl. You love to play with boy's hearts. Well I'm no ordinary boy. I'm a grim reaper and you made a big mistake. My heart won't be broken so easily....as a matter of fact. I'm glad you left me....it helped me realize just how much I hate you". My eyes widened when that word came out of his mouth. I had my suspicions but I never thought Kid would actually hate me. I couldn't let him see me weak.."I hate you too..as a matter fact that's all I came here to say. I hate you Kid...". Kid's expression didn't change. It remained cold. "Goodbye" was all he said as he walked out. 

        Once we was out of the room I collapsed to the ground in tears. " He hates me....I have proof now...it came out of his own mouth". I continued to sob until I felt arms wrap around me and pull me into a hug. I grasped onto Dimitri's sweater and sobbed even harder. "Shh..I don't know what happened but I do know everything will be alright...it's okay {Y/N}" Dimitri whispered in a comforting voice. After several minutes I managed to calm down. Dimitri helped me stand up and pulled me into a bear hug. "Don't forget you're the best meister here regardless of how many stars you have. You also have the beast weapon" He joked. I laughed lightly and nodded as I wiped tears from my eyes. "Let's go home...I'm tired as fuck" I muttered. Dimitri laughed and nodded in agreement. "Tomorrow we'll stop at Death Cafe and get some lunch" Dimitri smiled. "Sounds like a plan" I laughed. My partner in crim and I walked out of the DWMA and to our home. But that night my dreams were haunted by Kid's words. "I hate you".
