CHAPTER thirteen
I woke up the next day in a bad mood. Like not a normal bad mood. A really bad, bad mood. I took a short shower and got dressed. I chose black jeans, a black tank top with a skull on it, a puffy brown jacket with fluff inside, and my black converse. I left my hair down, not even bothering to brush it. I look at myself in the mirror and realize I look like a girl version of Nico di Angelo from Percy Jackson. I'm also extremely pale. I sigh and grab my backpack. I say bye to my family and get in my car without breakfast. I chew on a piece of gum and drive to school. Once I'm there, I park my car and get inside the school. I walk around looking for my friends. Not able to find them, I go to a dark, shadowy corner. I sit down and fight back tears so I won't embarrass myself. I see Bethany and Becky walking around, probably looking for me. Even though I need them right now, I shrink further back into my corner. Even though my friends didn't see me, Billy did. He walked over and said hey.
"Emily, you look different. New clothes?"
"Billy don't talk to me."
"Emily, I'm sorry. But at least you aren't lied to anymore. I can't believe Cathy though. She said she wouldn't play that game."
I feel bad for him because he's going through the same thing I am right now.
"I'm sorry. Did you guys break up?"
"Yeah. I didn't like her anyways."
He holds out his hand and I grab it. He pulls me to my feet.
"Emily, I really am sorry. I didn't know it would hurt you. I just didn't want you to think that liar was so innocent."
I smile and hug him. He's surprised but he hugs me back. With my hood up and me snuggling so deep into his shirt, you can barely see me. But Bethany did.
"Emily, what the hell are you doing? What about Bryan?"
Nervously, I tell her everything. Beginning with Billy telling me he likes me.
"So, you forgave him just like that? For all those years of torture?"
"Well , not exactly. It's not like I'm dating him now. But we're at least friends now."
Billy smiles brighter than ever. He beams with happiness. And I smile. He doesn't look scary anymore. He looks like a normal, and adorable kid. He looks like Bryan. Bethany gets my attentions and I turn back to her.
"So, about Bryan? What a complete ass! I cannot believe someone like that could be so awful and someone like Billy could be so sweet."
"I guess we were both in the dark." We laugh and Billy wraps his arm around me. I flinch and he lets go. I instantly feel bad. But then Bryan comes into the hallway we're in. He sees me and tries to get to me. Billy tries to get him but I hold him back. Bethany goes after him instead, before I can stop her.
"You ass! You're such a f*cking d*ck! What the h*ll is f*cking wrong with you! I warned you! What the heck were you thinking! Kissing Cathy! Cheating on the sweetest, most innocent girl I've met! I thought you were better!"
Bryan looks like he's just been smacked. He actually looks heartbroken.
"Can I please talk to Emily?"
"Why? Try and win her back? I don't THINK so!"
Just then Cathy comes running towards Bryan.
"Bryan!"
"Oh great. Here's your new girlfriend Bryan!"
Man, Bethany is super angry.
"Cathy isn't my girlfriend! What do you want Cathy?"
He glares at her and she shrinks back. She hands him a bag with a stick in it.
"I'm pregnant. And you're the father."
