chapter 13
Justin walked to his class and when he saw Miss Briggs standing there the anger flew up to his head. His face got so red. He could feel the words coming out of his mouth. He knew it was a bad idea but it was to late he was already saying it.
"Miss Briggs I am very disappointed in you.
Teachers are suppose to guide us, mold and shape us.
You are supposed to pull us back when we are doing wrong.
You are suppose to support us and encourage us.
You told my friend he was failing your class.
That was right.
He studied the hardest he ever had.
That was right.
He did good in his test and instead of being proud of him. You doubted him. That was wrong.
You judged him and lied on him. You are supposed to believe in us and in your ability to get through to us.
Your words meant more to Kyle than it did to you.
Your student actually listened to you and you punished him for it.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
Miss Briggs is proof that teachers don't give a damn about us they just care about the pay check", shouted Justin.
Miss Briggs smiled and said "Go to the Principal's office".
Justin's parents were called in and they went to the principal's office.
We called you in here because your son is acting out.
He completely disrespected a teacher about something that doesn't even concern him.
Justin has to take responsibility for his actions.
He has represented our school numerous times so for that we will just have him apologize to Miss Briggs in front of the entire school tomorrow.
Failure to do so and we will strip him from being basketball captain also he will be suspended for the rest of this term and a suspension now may very well affect his chance to graduate", said Principal Forbes.
"I will handle this, thank you principal Forbes ", said Mr. Zimmerman.
Justin's parents took him home and had a chat with him. They all sat down and Mr.
Zimmerman said " I don't care what you did, you will fix this tomorrow".
"Dad, don't you want to even know why?", asked Justin.
"It doesn't matter why Justin, they are talking about suspension and pulling you from the team. We worked your whole life for this. Basketball is your further and I will be dammed if you give that up for that little friend of yours", explained Mr. Zimmerman.
Justin teared up.
Dad my entire life has been about basketball and I admit it has been great at times but I never wanted it to be the focus of my life. I did it because it's all you care about. Playing basketball and training was the only time you would be proud of me or even acknowledged me. I am not apologising tomorrow Dad, Miss Briggs was wrong and I can't, I am sorry but Kyle is more important to me than the big game", said Justin.
Justin's father jacked him up against the wall and his mother started crying.
"Listen to me! Your whole life has been just fun and games, you will apologize tomorrow. You will not ruin your future or our family name", said Mr. ZIMMERMAN.
