Chapter 6

Previously on Chapter 5

I feel desperate to know what I am. After years of trying to look for answers. Finally, I'll be able to learn something about myself. This is the day that I've been longing for as long as I've lived.

-This Is Too Much-

Y/N P.O.V

Lailah looks up at me after staring at my tattoo. I stare at her expectantly. "What are you waiting for, Lailah-San... tell me. What does this tattoo means? What am I?" I said. I hold onto her hands. I stare at her with pleading gaze, desperately asking her to tell me the truth.

"Y/N-San... I'm sure that you're aware of your blood status. Being born by a human and Seraph parents. It means you're a half-Seraph. Do you know your mother's name?" She asked. I lightly shake my head.

"No... father said its best is I don't know too much about her. He said it's for my safety" I said. She nods her head at what I said. "Do you have anything that belonged to your mother?" She asked. I just nod my head. I reach up and pull out the necklace I've been wearing.

I show it Lailah. "Father said this necklace used to belong to my mom..." I said. Lailah reached out and gently touch the pendant. I can see her eyes slightly widened.

"Do you know your mother's name?" She asked. I just shake my head. "There's no mistaken it... you're her child. You mother name was M/N... she is one of the most important Seraph, a royal Seraph. She was a very powerful Seraph too. She's the last one of her kind. Now there's you..." she said. My eyes widened in shock.

"Did something strange ever happens to you?" She asked. I think about it. I turn my head slightly to see Mikleo. I remember what happened when there's just the two of us.

"Ah yes... when I was by the lake. Mikleo came over to me. Then there's this... thing. He said it's called a Hellion. I'm able to summon a bow. I shot it at the Hellion. The Hellion turned into a human..." I said. Sorey and Alisha stares at me in shock. While Lailah just nods her head.

"Back in the day... it's not only the Shepherd who is able purify the Malevolence. The royal members of the Seraphim possessed the power of purification" she said.

Lailah's eyes widening as if she just remembers something. "Is there something wrong, Lailah-San?" I asked. She turns to look at me, placing both of her hands on my shoulders. She stares at me with an urgent face.

"Y/N-San... you need to start training to control your power as a Seraph. You need to learn to fight..." she said. I stare at her with a surprised face. Why did she suddenly looks panicked.

"I'm so sorry. I have put your life in danger by telling you this. Your father was right... your scent as a half-Seraph will be more apparent as soon as you learnt the truth. A lot of evil are after your kind, Y/N-San. They believe for those of them who are able to take control of you will be the most powerful one. That's why there isn't much of you left in this world..." she said. I stare at her in shock.

"You mean... there will be more of those things that will come after me?" I asked. She nods her head. She gives me an apologetic gaze.

"I'm so sorry, Y/N-San..." I said. Sorey stares at me with a worried gaze. I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn my head to see Nee-San. She stares at me with a confused and worried gaze.

"What's going on, Y/N?" She asked. I just shake my head and sit down. My feet feels like jelly. I place my hand on my head, my mind is trying to process what I just learnt.

Alisha-Nee turns her head to look at Sorey, the only other person who's able to see the Seraph. Sorey starts explaining to her what he just heard from Lailah.

Alisha-Nee places a hand on her mouth as she turn to look at me in shock. "No way..." she said. I turn my head to look at her. She turns to me and wraps her arms around me. I just silently lean my head on her shoulder.

Lailah kneels down in front of me. "You don't have to worry, Y/N-San. I will help you learn to control your power... everything will be okay" she said, while smiling reassuringly at me. I shake my head at what she said.

"Okay?! How can everything be okay? All these time, everyone treated me like a freak... and I thought that something is wrong with me. Until my father told me that I'm a half-human. And now this?? Some stupid monsters are after me, and all of that for what? To make themselves stronger??" I said. Tears starts to fall from my eyes. All the stress I've been bottling up finally gets the best of me as the dam of emotions in me finally crumbles.

"This is all too much for me... I... I just want to be normal..." I said. I turn around and runs away. I can hear Nee-San calling out for me. But I didn't stop to listen and keep running.

I ended up by the lake I've always visited. I hugged my knees closer to my chest as I start crying softly. Why do I have to be born in this world... if I'll just be a target for evil?

"Y/N... it's not safe for you to be alone..." someone said. I turn my head to see Mikleo. He's breathing heavily, letting me know that he's been running in order to search for me. He tries to catch his breaths as he walks over to me.

"I don't care. At this point, I just want to die. It'll be easier..." I said. I can hear a gasp coming from him at what I said. "That's a stupid thing to think! You won't solve anything by dying, Y/N. It's not gonna fix anything..." he said. I turn my head to look at him, to see him looking at me with a serious gaze.

"Mikleo..." I said. His eyes soften as he gently places a hand on top of mine. "I will protect you... just like Lailah. I will help in training you too" he said. I just stare at him for a while. A soft smile eventually start to form on my lips.

"Thank you, Mikleo..." I said. He just smiles softly at me. He gently place a hand on the side of my head. He gently pulls me closer, letting me rest my head on his shoulder.

I turn my head to look forward, with my head still on Mikleo's shoulder. For some odd reason... I feel very safe to be near Mikleo. It's funny that we've only just known each other for a few days.

Mikleo P.O.V

I hear a soft snore coming from Y/N. I turn my head slightly to look at her. She's sleeping as she leans her head on my shoulder. She looks so peaceful. A soft pout is forming on her lips. She's so... beautiful.

I shake my head. What the hell am I thinking?? I just know her and I'm already thinking these kind of things?! What is wrong with me?

"Is she asleep?" Someone said. I turn my head to see Sorey. I nod my head. "Yeah... she's pretty stressed" I said. He hums and nods his head.

"Yeah... I can't blame her. We should probably take her back to the castle..." he said. I gently scoop her up in my arms. "Actually, I'll carry her. It'll creep the people out if she starts floating..." he said. I just let out a laugh and nod my head. He's right... humans can't see me. I let him take Y/N from my arms.

Alisha looks relieved when she realize her sister is alright. She moves aside and let Sorey carry Y/N. She leads the way to her room, letting him place Y/N on her bed.

"We should let her rest... we need to her some time to accept the truth" Sorey said. Alisha nods her head in agreement. Sorey turns to look at me and smiles. I just smiles at him. The two of them turns around to leave the room.

I turn around as well. As I reach the door to her room, I turn to look at her. She's still sleeping peacefully in her bed. I smile softly at the sight. I turn around to leave Y/N, so she can rest.
