16. It's A Sibling Rivalry
Last chapter of Josiah - Khalifa drama, then we're going to really get to the juice of the story. And since it's the last chapter of their drama, here's another update!
"It just had to be you two, didn't it?!"
Everyone was at Tiffany and Skylar's fancy dress party, with Reminisce accidentally pouring some punch on Stefani.
Out of everyone in the world, why did it have to be her?
Because no matter how much Reminisce had told her it was an accident, or wanted to tell her it was an accident, it would have always led to Stefani thinking that it was on purpose.
Even though it wasn't.
And Khalifa not being their friend didn't help either. He was just going to make this worse than it actually was - and he did.
"Trust me, Khalifa - it was an accident..."
"Yeah, right," Khalifa had hissed at his sister, shouting at her, with everyone watching. Josiah had tried to interfere and he had gotten there eventually when Reminisce was lost for words.
"First, you try to sabotage my relationship with Stefani, then you do so again - and now you're trying to make a fool out of her right in front of everyone."
It was worse because they were actually siblings, so Reminisce couldn't really have said or done anything bad to him even if she wanted to do so - but Josiah did.
As he had done so, Khalifa had yelled at him, asking him who had asked him to get involved.
After that was some sort of argument, with things getting physical after that. The physical fight had broken when other people had interfered, telling them to cut it out.
If they wanted to fight then they had to take it outside because they didn't want anyone ruining the party. So much for fancy dress. That was completely destroyed now.
If they wanted to stay inside then they didn't and couldn't fight at all. End of story.
"I ain't going down without a fight."
"Can you hear yourself right now?" Josiah had hollered at him. "Look at what you've caused."
"Look at what I've caused?" Khalifa had repeated, coming closer to Josiah, with his friends backing him up. "Reminisce is the one not looking at where she was going, ruining my girlfriend's favourite dress - deliberately. And she can't even deny it."
At least they were outnumbered. Khalifa only really had Stefani in this situation. Reminisce and Josiah had Tatiana, Kaiden and Savannah at least.
Wherever they were right now.
Someone had known how they could have settled their differences without fighting, because it had seemed as though the conversation wasn't over until one of them had won it somehow.
And they had suggested a rap battle.
Everyone was down for that idea, and so was Khalifa. He was going to start first - with him wanting to battle Josiah.
The good thing was the fact that Josiah couldn't have rapped so therefore this shouldn't have been too difficult. Kaiden and Savannah had tried to talk Khalifa out of this rap battle but he didn't listen.
It was a lot better than a physical fight at least. Plus, at these kind of events, there was always some sort of dance battle and rap battle.
They were yet to have a dance battle, so for now they had stilled on a rap one, with Khalifa telling the DJ to drop the beat.
This was where him writing raps had come in handy. They were free styling, and the audience had to decide who was better by cheering.
The instrumental version of the song Show Me The Money by Petey Pablo had played as Khalifa started off the battle.
Even though he was rapping to Josiah and Reminisce, he wanted Josiah to rap back.
It wasn't supposed to be long, both of them had two minutes maximum to tap, and one minute and a half minimum to do the same thing.
You think you're cool
Your swag is higher than a mountain
But when you spilled juice on Stefani
Near the white chocolate fountain?
I'm doubting
That you're telling the truth.
See, you're just a confused little girl
In her youth
Josiah, don't even get me started on you
You ruined my relationship and sabotaged it too
Boo hoo
You always get upset when things don't go your way
In fact, I'm not sure why you were invited here today
I know it's hurting you that me and you are not speaking
But if you think we'll ever be friends?
Nah man, you need some tweaking
I'd rather fail my course than be with you
Best believe me
You may think that I don't know how you're feeling
You can't deceive me
Yeah, I can see you're not happy now. Keep that frown
'Cause I had high expectations of you but you let me down
These two people are fake friends, y'all
They're as cold as ice
They've messed up my life
Not once, but twice
Nah man, I don't need y'all.
I can make it there without you
I'd be lying if I said that I actually care about you
My life has been so much better without you. It's a blessing
And now I'm guessing
You don't know what to say to me.
Keep stressing
Then he was finished.
The crowd had gone wild as Josiah had freaked out even more as his turn was next.
A lot of claps had gone on as Khalifa had finished his rap, no one had said anything about him having rap experience before, in a way.
As Khalifa had rather aggressively passed the microphone to Josiah, he had kept whispering to Reminisce and co that he didn't know how to rap.
Just try!
I don't know what to say! Khalifa has experience! I don't!
"What's that?" Khalifa had stated, embarrassing them. "Can Josiah not rap? Should the winner of this battle therefore automatically be me?"
They needed something to sort this out.
Then reminisce had realised something.
Josiah couldn't have rapped, or anyone else on the team.
But she could.
When people had heard that she had wanted to take her brother on, they were surprised.
"But you two are siblings!"
"I don't care. And I also don't care that you want to face Josiah. I see you dirty trick, Khalifa. You know he can't rap but you can. What do you say, y'all? Y'all want a sibling rap battle?"
They had all cheered, with the track changing to the instrumental song of Drop by Timbaland.
You think you're cool because your girlfriend's an ex criminal
Are you really that handsome?
Or did you use a subliminal?
A subliminal message was a message passed to the human mind without the mind being consciously aware of it, as, for example, in advertising.
People had listened to it to make themselves look or feel better, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. It had all depended on faith.
That's typical
You make the world rain, and I make it sunny
I've got so much dirt on you bro that it's not even funny
But lemme not get into that. Although I really want to diss you
You must be having a laugh if you think that we miss you!
You've got an issue
You see Khalifa
Today is just not your day
Because I'm Reminisce
I'm going to win this
And I slay!
You know he has an ex right?
Her name was Heather
Khalifa wasn't good for her though
He was like bad weather
Your rapping skills don't alarm me
Hell they don't even harm me
You really think you're all that?
Oh wait no! That's Stefani!
I think this is the end
You came for me
and you came for my friend
But at the end of the day, we know your true colours
No need to pretend
Come for me, we'll come for you
Mess with me, mess with the crew
Creeping up on you mysteriously
Until no one can take you seriously
Then she had dropped the mic on the floor which was what Khalifa had forgotten to do.
People had screamed after Khalifa had rapped, but they had done so more when Reminisce had done the same thing.
Basically, she had won the rap.
Which was evident when people had started lifting her up, and someone had put their tiara on her, with with everyone chanting her name.
Infuriated for no reason, Khalifa had walked out of the room, he couldn't stand to have seen her happy. Not just that, but now Stefani was mad at him again for not telling her about Heather.
"Dang, sis. Where did you learn how to rap like that?" Tatiana had questioned.
"Khalifa didn't show me his raps for no reason. Hence why he didn't want to face me. He knew I could rap the whole time."
Three or so days down the line and Reminisce was known for beating her brother in the fancy dress party.
The tables had really turned now. When Khalifa had a go at them for getting involved in their relationship for a second time - people hated their group.
Now a majority of them had loved them and Khalifa was a laughing stock, more or less getting defeated by his own twin sister.
She was very popular because of it too, so therefore a lot of people wanted her time and attention. At the moment, it was lunchtime, with people wanting her to sit with them however she had declined.
To everyone.
"You don't want to sit with them?" Kaiden had questioned her, curiously, as they were about to sit down outside. "You can if you want."
"Nah, they don't care about me. As soon as this dies down, they'll forget about me completely. I'm not trading what I have for worse."
If it wasn't for Tatiana then none of this would have happened. The fancy dress party was great.
Now that they were officially without Khalifa, Tatiana was thinking that they had a group name or something, suggesting this as she was browsing Instagram at the same time.
A group name was a good idea.
Kaiden didn't like the idea though, he felt as though it was too long and time consuming to think of one, with Savannah rolling her eyes.
"You're so high maintenance."
No one had said anything after that, with Josiah thinking something.
"Hang on. Say that again?"
"You're so high maintenance? I was talking to Kaiden."
That was a perfect group name. They were all high maintenance in one way or another. If anything, it was perfect.
Not the best name, however they didn't care what people had thought anymore.
On the count of three after everyone had agreed that their team name would have been You're So High Maintenance, Josiah had counted down from three and they cheered at zero.
Khalifa and Stefani's cousin DaSanté had walked past them, talking about something.
They didn't notice they were there and when they did, Khalifa had given them all death glares. Or more so Josiah as he had unconsciously stared at him.
Then they left.
"Did you guys see that?"
"See what?" Tatiana wanted to know.
"Khalifa just gave us the dirtiest look," Reminisce deadpanned. "Guess it's official. We're enemies now."
He wasn't even upset that he lost. They just gave him negative vibes.
They all did.
"Were we ever really friends?" Kaiden had added wisely.
That was a good question, but that was only one part of their problem.
The next was Savannah's.
And it had absolutely nothing to do with Khalifa.
That's end of their feud, y'all! I mean they don't talk much in the story - but now we're really going to get into it. This story is just getting started
Thanks for sticking around - and I'll see you in the next update
Those raps were hard to think of on the spot, should have thought of them earlier. Oh well. It was also late when I posted this so goodnight and I shall hopefully see y'all next time on You're So High Maintenance
till next time
sereniity- xx
