13. Yeah, You Royally Screwed Up

⬆️Khalifa and Reminisce
It's also Khalifa's birthday in real life 🎂
Happy birthday Jaheem Toombs!

As soon as Reminisce and Savannah had finished talking to Stefani and the boys had finished talking to Khalifa, they had met at the benches almost at the same time.

It was currently lunchtime, with the girls sitting on the left and the boys sitting on the right instead. They were in a gazebo with a little pink umbrella at the top of it for decoration.

They had tried to split Khalifa and Stefani up for the last time because they felt as though Stefani wasn't good for him.

Sure Khalifa had promised them that if he was in any danger with her then he would have let them know ASAP but at the same time - he couldn't always have been trusted.

Plus they knew how much he loved her. Maybe even more than them - to be fair he had known her for way longer than a majority of them.

"How'd it go for you guys?" Reminisce wanted to know.

"I think it went okay. And you?" Josiah answered.

Savannah had done the thumbs up sign, with Reminisce realising that they were talking to each other in the room right opposite them.

Khalifa and Stefani couldn't have seen them, or they chose not to, although the four of them could have seen them, with Savannah being curious on what they were saying to each other.

"It kind of looks like they're arguing."

"You think?"

"I know, Josiah," Reminisce had deadpanned. "I know when my brother's arguing with someone."

"What do you think they're arguing about?" Savannah had questioned, although before anyone had the chance to say anything, Kaiden had let them know that it wasn't nice to eavesdrop.

Was it really eavesdropping though?

Didn't they need to know what was actually being said for it to have been considered as eavesdropping?

"Either way, it looks like he's coming this way. Quick, you guys. Act like we weren't just talking about him," Kaiden had suggested as they had all eaten their food.

He was right though, Khalifa had come up to them as they were eating.

Savannah was the one to notice that he was coming, saying hi to him however he didn't seem to be very happy about that.

Because he wasn't.

Josiah had asked him if he was okay even though he clearly wasn't. Khalifa shouting at all of them was so loud that the entire canteen had heard him.

Which was kind of what he was going for, but it was embarrassing regardless.

"You guys set me up, didn't you?!"

Khalifa had never been so agitated about anything in his entire life. More so when Josiah and Kaiden had acted as though they didn't know what he was talking about.

"Don't give me that!" Khalifa had continued, even more exasperated than before. "You two made it seem as though Stefani and DaSanté on her Instagram post were in a relationship! And I wrongfully jumped to conclusions about that due to you two, so now I've lost my girlfriend!"

They were genuinely bewildered when they had heard that, DaSanté and Stefani seemed to be together.

Yes - seemed.

They weren't.

There was a difference between seeming and being.

But that was all wrong apparently - DaSanté was her adopted cousin. So they couldn't even have dated even if they wanted to.

Kaiden and Josiah had sincerely apologised for everything. Things only got worse from there though.

"Reminisce and Savannah, you two said to Stefani that I was better than her didn't you? Because she had a criminal record and I don't, though I almost did?" He had continued. "How dare you two lie on my own name and say things I never said! Especially you, Reminisce. I expected more from you. You're my twin sister for God sake."

"We were just trying to look out for you, K. As your friends we were concerned about you."

"No you weren't, Kaiden!" His voice was louder now, almost on the verge of crying.

This was so unfair on him. He didn't do anything to deserve this.

"You four are not my friends! And Reminisce, you're not my sister! If you guys were my friends then you would have never caused any of this to happen! I don't care if she's an ex criminal or not! There's a reason she's an ex criminal! But all you guys did was judge her without giving her a chance. You guys aren't concerned about me. You're jealous. And I don't want to hang out with jealous friends!"

He had taken a deep breath after that, he was done with them. He never wanted any of them to speak to him again.

Then he had stormed out of the room. He was very mad at them. Just like Stefani was mad at him.

At the end of everything, a lot of people had given the four of them dirty looks.

Some of them had even chased after Khalifa to ask him if he was okay but he was too angry to say anything except from push them away.

There were some nasty comments about them as people had walked past.

What kind of friends are y'all? Why would you do that to Khalifa, man? I get she's an ex criminal- that don't mean you have every right to judge her.

That was coming from a cheerleader with blonde hair and a red / white uniform, with her boyfriend tagging along with her.

Some of them had started swearing at them. They didn't care though. They weren't moved by other people - not even when the insults got too much.

All the four of them could have thought about was what had just happened.

For Khalifa to say that Reminisce was no longer his sister - he had never said that before. They had royally screwed up.

"Anyone else think we took it too far?" Kaiden had sighed.

"No. No. Josiah took it too far. If it wasn't for you then none of this would have happened!" Savannah had screeched at him, standing up. "This is all your fault Josiah! You should have never suggested this stupid idea. Come on you guys, let's leave!"

Reminisce wanted to follow her, nodding and standing up with Kaiden telling them to stop, after he had stared at Josiah who had looked really devastated and guilty over the whole thing.

"Look, you guys. The last thing we need is for the group to fall apart, especially on the first day of school. And Josiah..." he had turned to him next before saying anything else. "I get you were just trying to help. But you don't always have to do so. You get me?"

He nodded.

Josiah was a caring person. Maybe too caring at times, which was one of his biggest weaknesses.

Khalifa had never been this mad at him too. Goodness knew if he was ever coming back into the group again.

They were all probably enemies now.

When the girls had heard what Kaiden had said, they had looked at one another, sighing and then sitting down.

Josiah did apologise for dragging them into all of this. He had just wished that things had turned out well and not the opposite.

"That's what y'all get for getting involved in things that don't concern y'all," Tatiana had chirped in, sitting down on the bench with the girls.

When they had seen her, they had frowned, with Josiah wanting to know what she was doing here.

"Kaiden and Reminisce, y'all didn't tell Josiah and Savannah?"

"Tell me and Josiah what?"

Tatiana had told them as Kaiden and Reminisce had hid themselves in shame.

As she had successfully gotten Savannah back in the group again, she was allowed to hang out with them anytime she wanted and as often as she wanted.

All this whole Josiah had thought that they had talked to her themselves. He didn't like this promise they had made her.

"We all spoke to Aunt Lilibet," Reminisce had explained. "However Tatiana spoke to Savannah respectively and that's when we made the promise."

Josiah stayed silent, just staring at Tatiana who had smiled at him.

"I guess having you around isn't too bad, considering how we just lost more or less Khalifa."

"Don't tell me y'all are bummed about that," Tatiana had interrupted. "Look - Khalifa don't care about you! So therefore don't care about him!"

How were they going to stop caring about him?

Tatiana had come here for a specific reason aside from making her presence known.

Her sister Skylar and her friend Tiffany was having a party tonight, today was their last day at the school - so the party was for them leaving and for all the newcomers at the same time.

It was a fancy dress party and it was going to take place in the hall of the second canteen. All of the tables were going to be moved. It was going to be very magical.

Kind of like a prom night on their first day.

Everyone was invited - that had received a flyer anyway. There would have been too many people coming if the whole school had come.

"So you four down for it?"

No one had said anything as they had all read the light pink flyer she had just given them.

As promising as this had sounded - they had just felt too bad about Khalifa to really go anywhere and enjoy themselves. They had felt as though it hadn't don't them any justice.

"Is Khalifa invited?" Reminisce had deadpanned.

"Yes he is. I invited him way before you guys had just fallen out though. And it would be weird and frankly quite suspicious if I had suddenly uninvited him."

Tatiana had then stood up from where she was standing once and for all, collecting her things.

"I don't want to force things on you because I know what just happened. I really do hope you guys are okay though. If any of y'all need anything, just come to me, alright?"

They had nodded, thanking her for her company and the invitations.

As for now they probably weren't going to go to the party, although anything could have happened in the future.
