He missed Clarence, so much.

Missed late nights when Clarence would pull him close, and tell Florida how much he missed him.

Waking up to see Clarence's smile in the morning, the smell of coffee filling his nose as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"I love you" He's running his hands through Florida's hair, who has his head on Clarence's lap.

"Could you say it again?"

"I love you" Clarence smiles down at him, "I love you"

Florida sits up, crossing his legs and facing Clarence, who mirrors his actions.

"I love you" He moves closer, taking Florida's hands in his own "And I'm not going to stop loving you" He smiles at him

"I love you too" Florida replies, smiling back at him.

"Please, just one more time" He sobs, trying to muffle it with his hands. "Clarence-" He moves to hold Clarence's hand.

"I love you" Clarence says, as his eyes slip shut. 

I felt like I was
floating

Maybe, in another life, they could've been together, gotten married. 

But, they found each other at the wrong time, and now Clarence was gone.

He rolls the ring around between his fingers, not processing what DC's talking about.

"Hey," Clarence glances over to where his coat is, there's a nervous smile on his face "I got you something."

"Florida!" Florida jumps, dropping the ring and staring over at Gov, "pay attention."

He mumbles an apology before scanning the floor for his ring, he couldn't lose this, he couldn't lose Clarence a second time.

"I can't find my ring-" Florida's hyperventilating now, trying to see where he dropped the ring. 

"Darling, it's fine-"

"Florida!" He ignores Gov, reaching under the chair to grab the ring, "What could you possibly be-"

"I found it!" He's beaming at Clarence, who flushes, glancing away with a small smile.

"I dropped something," he stuffs the ring in his pocket, "sorry."

I felt like somebody

"I love you," He likes to believe Clarence can hear him, where ever he is now, "I love you so much it hurts."
