(Y/n)'s POV

I can't stop thinking about what that kid said. Keith... being kicked out of the Garrison? That can't be true! He promised me that he would work hard to be a fighter pilot. Did that promise mean nothing? No that can't be true! Maybe there's some kind of explanation. There has to be.

"Attention everyone this is your captain speaking. If you look straight ahead you can see Kerberos." Lance said trying to be all cool. "Lance this is serious, can you not?" Pidge asks annoyed at Lance. "Ugh fine..." Lance gives in. I then continue to be in my thoughts, just thinking about what happened.

Lance's POV

As I kept flying the ship I noticed Hunk who is a bit uneasy in the back. "Yo Hunk you okay back there?" I ask. "Y-Yeah I'm fine, just..." he then acts like he's going to barf. "Fine." Suddenly a distress signal goes up on our screen. "Hey guys I got a signal!" Everyone jumped up and then Pidge tried to grasp the communication device, but he fell down in the process. "Pidge what are you doing?! Put your seatbelt back on!" Pidge does what he's told. "Hello can you read us? We are hear to extract you, do you copy?" Pidge says into the device.

I decide to move closer to the signal. "No Lance what are you doing you're gonna get us killed!" Hunk yells. "Don't worry about it. I'm an expert pilot!" I say as I move the ship to the wreak a bit faster. "Hey stop! All this shaking is making me... making me.." Hunk's face then looks like he's gonna puke and he went for someplace to remove it. He threw up in one of the panels.

"Lance look out for that overhang!" Pidge says. "No worries. My first year in flight school, know what they called me? They called me 'The Tailor' because of how I thread the needle" and I move the ship through it. Then I felt a crash! "WE LOST A WING!" Hunk yells. I look back and everyone is panicking, well except Hunk who's just throwing up again. "(Y/n)? (Y/N)! SNAP OUT OF IT!" I yelled and then we hit the ground. "Nice work tailor."

SIMULATION FAILED

"Roll out donkeys!" Commander Iverson yelled. We went out of the ship simulator and waited for our chewing out. "Now let's see if we can use this complete failure from these so-called cadets as a lesson for the rest of you. Can you name some of the things these cadets did?" Commander Iverson asked. "The engineer puked in the main gear box." "The com spec removed his safety harness." "The pilot crashed!" "The co-captain wasn't paying attention." They all said different answers.

"Right. But most of all they were arguing with each other! The least you can do is work as a team! This is exactly was costed the lives on the Kerberos mission." Iverson said. "That's no true sir!" Pidge exclaims. "What?!" Commander Iverson said shocked. I reach for Pidge's mouth to cover his words. "No nothing sir I think he hit his head from falling off the harness." I try to cover up for Pidge.

"Need I remind you why you're here. You're only here because the best pilot in your class had a disciple issue and flunked out." "That isn't true!" I look to my left and see that (Y/n) was angry. "He would never do that! He promised me!" He was yelling really loud so I covered his mouth too. Commander Iverson just gave (Y/n) a death stare and asked for the next group to be in the simulator.

Later

We are now in our dorm just thinking about what we can do to be a better team, but (Y/n) has been acting a bit different. "(Y/n) what was that all about back there?" I asked. He sighed "I-It's nothing Lance." He said as he began to change into his normal clothing. But as he's taking off his suit I see strange marks on his back.

"Um... (Y/n) what are those marks?" I ask. He turned his head to me and had a small blush on his face and he looked shy. "T-There just birthmarks..." he says softly. "Well these are odd looking birthmarks." I said. "All birthmarks are weird Lance. Don't judge." Hunk said. I nod and then (Y/n) finished getting dressed. He wore a (f/c) shirt, some jeans and (s/f/c) shoes. "Alright I'm ready."

"Lights out in five!" Commander Iverson yelled. "I don't know about this Lance." Hunk said. "You heard Commander Iverson we have to bond as a team." We then left our room and went to head outside, only to find Pidge leaving his room. We followed him and eventually we reached the roof.

"What you doing out here Pidge?" (Y/n) asks. "I'm listening to the frequencies that are outside of earth."
Pidge responds. "They're all scrambled but one word repeats. It says 'Voltron'." Then suddenly something breached the atmosphere. It looks like a ship. "Look at that." I said. "Come one let's check it out!"

Later (again)

We arrived at the crash site and we see a bunch of Garrison personnel on the site. Pidge pulled up the cameras that are inside the ship and we see three men cloaked it white and "wait is that Shiro?!" I yelled. "SH!" (Y/n) sushed me. "That is Shiro! He was on the Kerberos mission, he's like my hero!" I look back at the site, but then I see some sort of hover bike. Hold on that coat looks familiar.

"IT'S KEITH!" I look at (Y/n) who yelled, and was already heading down. "Who's Keith?" Hunk asks. "He's my rival!" I respond and head down. Once we got inside the ship we went where they were holding Shiro only to find Keith had already beaten us to him. "Keith I missed you!" (Y/n) said as he ran to Keith. Keith look serious as he picked up Shiro. "Nuh uh! No way! I'm saving Shiro!"

We then head out of the site and hop on Keith's hover bike. And after a huge chase with some of the personnel, we managed to get away and reach Keith's base. "Thank you for saving me." Shiro said gratefully. "No problem." I said. "It's great to see you again Shiro." (Y/n) said with a smile. "Wait you knew Shiro?!" I ask shocked.

(Y/n)'a POV

"Yeah I did. He was at the school I attended as one of the cadets for career day." I said with a smile. I then turn t Keith. "Keith... you promised me that you would reach your dream of being a fighter pilot. Why did you break our promise?" I ask trying to hold back tears. "I'm sorry (Y/n). I had to." "What do you mean you had to?" I asked.

"After I got kicked out of the Garrison I felt a strange energy nearby and I decided to investigate. I then found caves with drawings of lions and some kind of mech." Keith said. "Lions? Could they have something to do with Voltron?" I ask myself. "Hey guys I was looking through Pidge's diary-" "WHAT?!" "And I found a code that had several repeating numbers. I believe those must be coordinates to this Voltron. And if the energy is similar I can make a device to help find it." Hunk said. Everyone nodded in response and we went on our way to find "Voltron."
