"Something's weird, don't you think?" Vivian asked as we walked through the school hallway. I nodded my head and started to become quite puzzled about how quiet it was. Usually there was a huge crowd, revolving around Jiyoon and Jaehee, but today they were no where to be seen. Oh well, not my problem.
I walked into class and sat beside my seat mate, Yoona.
"Sua? Did you hear?" Yoona whispered beside my shoulder.
"What happened?" I asked back, but wasn't sure why we were whispering. The class hasn't even started yet. She gestured her head to someone a few rows in front of us and I raised my head to see who she was talking about.
My eyes immediately fell onto a scene that was happening at the front of the class; Jiyoon was sitting at her desk with her head down while Jaehee patted her back. Their followers were either holding tissues or comforting Jiyoon with their words.
"Poor girl, her boyfriend dumped her last night. Jeon Jungkook. God, he's such a jerk. I heard it was for no reason whatsoever." I had my mouth hung open and my brows furrowed together. Confused was an understatement. I was having a hard time understanding why Jungkook would want to break up with her when they went on a date and were pretty close from what I saw last night. Or was there something I didn't catch onto?
"Jiyoon isn't taking it well." I said in a normal tone that was louder than our previous dialogue but then I realized why we were whiperimg. Jaehee immediately turned her head towards Yoona and I and she didn't look amused.
"You!"
"Whatever happens, I'm not included in it." Yoona whispers a final time and I nod.
"It's you're fault isn't it? For their breakup?" She asks and the whole class has their attention on us. This situation seems familiar. Where is the teacher?
"Um, well I actually just found out about it." I spoke in a quieter voice than her and she rolled her eyes.
"Um, well could you speak louder?" She mocks and I walk closer to her and sigh.
"I just found out about it Jaehee." I told her firmly.
"I don't know about that Miss Jungkook's roommate." She said that loud enough for the whole class to hear, and probably a few people in the hallway since the door was open. This was exactly what I didn't want to happen. People finding out who I lived with, and I could already imagine every single girl envying me viciously. Maybe a few guys too.
"That's enough Jaehee, she has nothing to do with this." Jiyoon finally spoke up and spoke in a dominant tone.
"But Jiyoon-"
"I want you to stop." She cut her off. Jaehee looked surprised while I stood there conflicted. What am I supposed to do right now?
And only a few seconds later, Jaehee put on a wide exaggerative smile, "Of course unnie! I'll just get you more tissues." It was like her attitude did a 180 degrees spin.
"But I'm not-", Jaehee had already ran out of the room, "crying." Jiyoon turned her head towards me and smiled slightly. Everyone had gotten back to their own conversations.
"Thank you for that." I finally said and she nodded.
"You didn't do anything wrong. I couldn't stand there watching you get scolded by Jaehee. Sorry for her. She can get like that." I wasn't sure if it was rude to ask, but like many other times, I let curiosity get the best of me.
"Are you upset?" She had her head down but looked up once I asked. She just chuckled a little and shook her head. She was trying to hide how upset she was from me and I didn't understand why.
"Would you believe if I said I'm okay with it? I don't think we felt the same about each other anymore." I nodded and couldn't help but stare at her pain filled eyes. Jaehee eventually came back and I went back to my seat.
-
"So I guess their breakup was why it was so quiet this morning." Vivian said as she opened the gate to the building. The whole way home we were talking about what might've happened with Jiyoon and Jungkook but Vivian was doing most of the talking. I was mentally trying to prepare myself because I just remembered mid walk that I have a date with Jimin today. Ah, it's weird calling it that.
I waved goodbye to Vivian as I watched her step inside her apartment and close her door behind her. I stood right in front of my door and just stared at it contemplating on what I would see once I opened it. Was it going to be completely heartbroken or completely fine? Before even putting my palm on the doorknob, the door opened before me and there was Jungkook - shirtless and bed hair in all his glory.
Why does he keep forgetting he lives with someone? Now that it's been a while I wasn't flustered or anything but was a bit awkward.
"How did you come back earlier than me?" He stepped out of the way and I walked in throwing my bag to the side of the room.
"I didn't go to school today. I felt sick." He simply answered going to his room, but came out shortly with a shirt on.
I nodded and wondered if it was because of his breakup. I wasn't really sure of how these things worked.
"You should rest. If you want I could make you something, I can't promise it will be good or helpful." I offered and he laughed and shook his head. A part of me felt he was hurt, because of how quiet he was then normal. I wasn't going to ask, though. Not even curiosity could win over at this moment.
"I'm gonna take a shower." Jungkook ruffled his hair and stepped into his bathroom. I took this chance to go to Vivian's and ask for advice on the date. I still couldn't bring myself to calling it that.
I opened up her door without notice, it was open and I'm her best friend, I think that justifies. I saw her setting up her living room with books set on the table and two chairs with quite a big distance.
"What're you setting up?" She looked up from her phone and looked at me with wide eyes.
"Oh I have a partnered assignment, and he- their coming over." That explains the two chairs, but why so far from each other? How were they going to get any work done?
"Vivian, who exactly is your partner?" She hummed even though I was well aware she was listening.
"It's no one special or anything, just Taehyung." Her voice trailed off towards the end but was completely clear to me.
"Hm okay." A smile was rising up my mouth and Vivian started to protest.
"No, it's not like that. Really, Taehyung just happened to ask me and I didn't want to say no since we're friends now." I gestured over to the chairs.
"Shouldn't friends sit a little closer?" I asked teasingly and she made a tsk sound.
"Taehyung might try something, the only thing we're doing is working and I'm determined to make it stay that way." She stated and I nodded. Vivian seems to have a lot on her mind right now, not the time to give advice. So instead of asking her I just said goodbye.
"Oh, well good luck." I told her and before leaving I walked up to the chairs and brought them just a bit closer. There was no harm in doing Tae a small favor and Vivian just laughed.
"Good luck on your date." She wished and I nodded and left. I was down to my last option, and that was the possibly upset, just got out of a relationship, Jeon Jungkook. I won't force it on him, but if he decides to help then that would be appreciated.
I walked inside and found him drying his hair with a towel. He sent me a smile and I almost stopped in my tracks. Why did he smile out of nowhere? Never. There has never been a moment where he's smiled for no reason, but I was probably just overanalyzing things.
"Jungkook." I quietly called his name and he had his attention on me. I cleared my throat, "I uh, have a date with Jimin."
A smug smirk appeared on his face and I internally rolled my eyes.
"And?" He knew I wanted advice he just wanted to hear me ask for it. Jerk.
"I need some advice on how not to screw up." I put into simple words and he smiled satisfied with my answer.
"You already got yourself a date, why else would you need my help?" He teases and I glared at him. He wasn't making this easy.
"Jungkook I have five hours. Please." I pleaded and he chuckled. I was about to open my mouth again but he stopped me.
"Okay okay, I'll help you. What are you nervous about?"
"Talking." I answered and he furrowed his eyebrows.
"Haven't you talked to him before?" He asked.
"But this time it's a date. Like an actual one and I'll be alone." I reasoned and he nodded understanding.
"Okay. Since I have nothing to do, I'll get you completely prepared for you're date." Jungkook declared and I was quick to object.
"No I just needed- "
"So what are you wearing?" He went ahead and asked and I realized that I had to give in unwillingly.
"I don't know, I didn't think it was that important." Jungkook gasped exaggerating his shock and I laughed.
"You do need my help." I playfully hit his shoulder but drew it back after realizing how built he was.
"Do you have a dress?" He asked and I raised an eyebrow.
"We're just going to eat somewhere. I don't think I need to wear a dress. What if I trip over it?" I asked thinking he was speaking of a large party dress.
"No, a casual dress. You know one that you can just wear normally?" I shook my head and he reached out his hand. I was confused over what he was asking and didn't realize he was asking me to take it.
Instead he rolled his eyes and brought his hand back.
"Come with me." How many times has he told me this? I shrugged and followed him out of the apartment.
-
"Now is not the best time to go to the mall." I told him as we walked inside the huge shopping complex.
"It'll be quick. And while we walk around I could help you with taking. You see, multitasking." He persuaded and I just went with it. We were here already anyway.
point of view : author
Sooner or later, Sua had eight to ten dresses in her arms, Jungkook made quite a lot of choices whereas she made two. They walked near a changing room and Jungkook sat on a sofa outside of it. It was a smaller area, so it was only them two.
"Okay lets get over with this movie cliche trying on clothes in dressing room thing, start." Jungkook joked and Sua walked inside the changing room and changed into the first dress. It was a revealing near the back and the front was a bit- open? She stepped outside and Jungkook crinkled his nose.
Sus tried on another and another, and after each Jungkook would either shake his head or shrug his shoulders. He was starting to get bored and Sua was starting to get tired. She had tried the final dress on already and now there was nothing else left to try. She liked none of them and neither did Jungkook. Sua sat on a small bench inside the room and started to look around. Her eyes landed on a clothes rack. She looked through and found one that didn't look completely horrible. It was a dark red but was long sleeves and met right above her knees. This works, she thought and smiled.
She tried it on and automatically liked it. She walked outside to show Jungkook even through she didn't care what he thought. Sua had decided she wanted this dress anyway.
"You've tried on anything, maybe Vivian- " He stopped once he saw her and kept his mouth open. A crowd started to build around the changing room but it was like Jungkook was oblivious to everyone there. That Sua only stood there spinning and mimicking a model just for fun. Her eyes lit up and she looked happy.
"You look nice."
He wasn't going to tell her. He wasn't going to tell her that she looked beautiful. And it wasn't because of the dress, no, it was the smile that came with it.
Sua had caught him staring at her somewhere in between her 'catwalk' and stopped. Not because she was flustered. But because of this new feeling that sprung up in her. It wasn't bad or good, it was just different.
Jungkook cleared his throat and looked away first. "Let's go, you only have two hours." He said rather firmer and less playful then before. Sua shrug it off and changed back into her normal outfit and left with her dress in hand.
"I already paid, let's just leave." He looked down when he spoke and Sua found it slightly frustrating. She wanted to thank him, or at least that's what she thought. Without knowing herself, she wanted to look at him in the eye and see if that weird feeling came back just to see what it was. To experiment, was what she told herself.
Jungkook finally looked at her when they were in the car and there it was. She gulped and looked away as she stared out the window and watched everything outside pass by.

What was happening? Everything else escaped my mind except this one thing that Vivian once said.
"But you have to make sure of something Sua. That you don't fall in love with Jungkook as he helps you. You never know what can happen."
I gave him one more look and shook my head.
I'm not falling in love with him. I know I'm not.
