-i wanted to write a dystopian-esque story, so i looked up some prompts and decided on this one after i altered it a bit. i know that it does sound a bit like the plot for The Maze Runner and i apologize lol i didn't mean for that to happen so i'll try my best to make them as different as possible

-this is a SLOW ASS BURN okay enemies to lovers type beat but it's gonna be a while so strap in

-this story is inspired by the song Compass by the Neighborhood!!

-this story will not contain smut !! sorry but i genuinely just can't write it lol

-just so you know in this story george is 19 and dream is 17. (background characters like sapnap, karl, bbh etc are around that age range). also quackity is 22, you'll see why once you read

-as of right now i'm not sure if there will be any need for any other trigger warnings but if there is they will be at the beginning of the chapter :)

-dream and george have stated that they are comfortable with ship fics, but if that ever changes i will most definitely take this down!!
