"Fuck!" I groaned, closing the door of my suite behind me with a loud bang.

I looked down at the bulge forming inside my pants and it was painfully hard. I sighed before taking off my suit jacket and unbuttoning my cuffs. I was feeling extremely hot and bothered after our make out session right now.

Mia looked extremely sexy in her tight pink skirt and off shoulder crop top and it was hard for me to take my hands off her. That's why my hands were on her all the time. When Kriti, one of my friends complimented or more like hit on Mia, it made me feel possessive and unknowingly my grip tightened on Mia's waist.

Shaking the thoughts off my mind, I unbuttoned my shirt and threw it away on the bed before rushing inside the washroom. I got rid of the pants and boxers before standing under the shower naked. I took a cold shower to release and then came out, wrapping a towel loosely around my waist. Taking deep breaths, I ran a hand through my hair and opened the closet door. I took out a pair of boxers and put them on before lying down on the bed. After some time I drifted off.

Sangeet Ceremony

The word “Sangeet '' means  music, but when it is used as a term to describe a celebratory event during an Indian wedding it translates to Music Night or Musical party. This musical night is a celebration of the union of not only the couple but the bonding of both families. It is here that both sides bring down their barriers and mingle in a fun environment. It is a celebration that can be as lavish or as toned down as the families can afford. It’s usually held a day before the wedding. It may be held in a huge hotel room to accommodate all wedding guests, or it may be a small affair at the bride’s home. In some events men and women get separated due to their interests, for example men –booze, women- henna, youngsters-dance. But most of the sangeet parties are huge and loud and every bit like a reception but super fun.

In earlier times the Sangeet would last for 10 days, celebrating up until the wedding day – however over time this tradition boiled down to a one day function in order to fit all of the wedding events into one week. The Sangeet ceremony takes place two or three days prior to the wedding. This celebration includes dances performed by relatives and friends of the Bride and Groom, songs by the elder female members of the family sung in unison with the bride as the focal point, and an open dance floor to commemorate the festivities for the following days. The event takes place at the Bride’s home or a separate banquet hall, where the Bride’s family welcomes the Groom’s family by singing Suhaag, a traditional folk song, to the tune of the Dhol.

The female members from both sides of the family congregate together to sing traditional songs pertaining to the bride and groom. The elders of the family lead the pack as they dictate which songs to sing for the Sangeet. This singing tradition occurs mostly in Punjabi culture. Songs include ‘jokes’ about in-laws, about the bride leaving her parents’ home, and on how to have a successful marriage. The premise of the Sangeet is not only to rejoice but to join the families so that they familiarize themselves with one another prior to the big wedding day. Relatives and friends of the Bride and Groom choreograph dance numbers to perform for the couple adding to the jubilation of the event. The song and dance portion of the Sangeet is a social bond connecting the two families to each other and to the bride and groom.

Currently I was standing by the pool with my mobile in my hand as I replied to some of the mail whilst V and Armaan were swimming. I was wearing a loose white vest and my black swimming trunks with a pair of slippers.

I have already had my breakfast today in my suite and when Armaan and Varun came to invite me for a swim in the pool, I couldn't deny it because I didn't have anything to do till the evening as all the arrangements had been done.

"Mia!" I heard them calling. When I looked up from my mobile and at them, I found them jumping in the pool whilst waving their both hands wildly and looking up.

My eyes wandered in the direction they were looking and I found Mia standing in her balcony, by the railing, wearing a nifty breeze off shoulder dress in blue strips with a pair of white and blue feathery earrings. She was looking like an angel she is and I found myself staring at her.

"Mia!" This time these idiots called a little louder. Mia looked around to find the source of the voice.

"Mia! Here!" They started screaming and jumping like some banshees and I couldn't control but glare at them.

But this time their calling got Mia's attention and she looked down at them. My eyes went to her lips, which mouthed what to these idiots but they didn't understand anything and just stared at her dumbly before asking what in sign language.

I looked up in amusement to find her trying to control herself from coming down here and beating the shit out of these two idiots. Then she leaned over the railing which skipped a beat of my heart and I found myself getting scared for her.

"WHAT?!" She yelled loudly which was loud enough for the whole hotel to hear.

And the next moment I saw her staggering forward and balancing herself as a screech left her mouth. My eyes widened as I ran forward.

"Oh fuck!" I heard Varun muttering

"MIAAAAA!" I screamed in panic.

She finally controlled herself and rushed back from the railing. She saved herself from toppling over the balcony railing.

"MIAAAAAA!" I heard Varun and Armaan screaming behind me but Mia didn't come in front of our sight.

When she finally came forward and cautiously took a hold of the railing whilst looking at it in horror, my heart almost broke seeing her this scared.

"MIA! YOU OKAY?" I screamed from the bottom and found her nodding her head frantically.

"Yeah! I'm fine!" She said, raising her thumbs up with a forced smile on her face that didn't reach her eyes.

I kept looking at her in concern.

"I will be there in five minutes!" She said before walking back inside.

I sighed and ran a hand through my hair calming my ragging breaths which fastened when I saw my girl almost losing her life. A hand on my shoulder caught my attention and I turned around to find Varun and Armaan a little away from us.

"Calm down Raj! She is fine! Go and talk to her!" V said and I found myself nodding distractedly.

"I will!" I said before rushing back towards the lobby. I stood in front of the elevator when I saw someone coming down and I knew it was Mia. When the lift door opened and my eyes fell on her, I found her in a daze. And not wasting a second, I wrapped my arms around her as soon as she stepped outside the lift and hugged her tightly, nuzzling my head in the crook of her neck.

"Thank God you're fine!" I mumbled under my breath and took large whiffs of her fragrance to calm myself down.

"I'm fine Yuvi!" I heard her as she rubbed my back.

As soon as the word left her mouth, I found myself getting furious at her words and careless tone. My fists clenched so tight that my knuckles turned white and I abruptly pulled back from the hug, making Mia shocked. My eyes burned with unshed tears and it must have turned red like lava till now, that angry I was! My eyes glared at her and she took some steps back shivering. Not gonna lie, it hurt me to see her getting scared of me, but I didn't care about it anymore!

"YOU'RE FINE?! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? DO YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF YOU HAVE FALLEN DOWN FROM THERE? DO YOU KNOW HOW I FELT WHEN I SAW YOU ALMOST FALLING DOWN FROM UP THERE? CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ME IF SOMETHING HAD HAPPENED TO YOU?" I roared in anger, making her flinch and take more steps back from me.

I found her eyes tearing up at my outburst and a heart-wrenching sobs left her mouth as she shook in fear. Her forehead was glistening with sweat by now. My jaw ticked as I realised how scared she was of me!

"Yuvraj! Calm down!" I heard Varun's voice and two footsteps running towards me from behind.

When I felt Varun's hand on my shoulder trying to calm me down, I shrugged his hand away harshly.

"Shut up V! I don't want you to interfere in this matter right now!" I deadpanned, pointing my index finger at Varun threateningly.

Then I turned my attention back to Mia who was now a sobbing mess.

"You!" I pointed my finger at her, making her jump at her place and her breathing quickened.

Blinded by anger, I marched towards her with quick strides and yanked her to my chest by getting a hold on her forearms. I looked down at her with anger swirling in my eyes and I found myself gripping hard on her arms. I leaned my face more towards her and now there was just a inch gap from our lips.

"What were you thinking huh? Answer me! Why are you silent?" I hissed, making her eyes widened and more tears rolled down her eyes whilst her lips quivered.

"Fuck! Yuvraj! You're scaring her! It wasn't her fault! We couldn't hear her, that's why she leaned over! It wasn our fault! Stop behaving like this with her!" I heard Armaan from behind me but I decided to ignore him and kept looking into Mia's teary eyes which stared back at me.

I heard several footsteps moving towards our direction and I knew our families were just here.

"Yuvraj what's going on?" Dad asked me but I ignored him and kept looking down at Mia.

"Mia! Kya hua?" I heard papa asking but she didn't look away from my eyes.

I can see thousands of thoughts roaming around her mind. I heard more questions coming from our families and heard Varun explaining to them about everything. I still had a tight grip on her forearms and was looking at her with my jaws clenched.

I was glaring straight into her eyes whilst she was holding onto my biceps when I felt her grip loosening and then I saw her eyes rolling back. And the next moment she fell unconscious in my arms making me freeze in shock. I came out of my trance when she was about to fall, but I prevented it by pulling her unconscious body on my chest. I wrapped an arm around her waist and with the other hand, I patted on her cheek.

"Mia! Mia!" I called, grabbing everyone's attention which was on Varun as he was explaining the situation.

"Oh shit! What happened to her?" Armaan exclaimed as he came to my side looking down at Mia who was now lifelessly lying on my chest.

"Mia!" Abhi called and along with him, everyone panicked.

"Yuvi, let's take her to her suite! So that Devi aunty can check on her!" Duggu bhai said and I nodded before picking up Mia in bridal style.

I rushed into the elevator with Mia in my arms and maa, mum, dad, Abhi dada and papa along with us in the lift. As soon as the lift door opened on our floor, I rushed out and kicked the door open of Mia's suite. I ran inside and put my one knee on bed before placing Mia on the bed gently.

"Mia! Mia!" I called patting her cheek as I took a seat beside her on the bed.

The other family members skipped inside the suite as well.

"Yuvi! Here!" Shree gave me a glass of water. I took the glass from her and sprinkled some water on Mia's face but no reaction. She still laid there lifelessly. I gulped down in fear and felt extremely guilty for my outburst.

"Dugga! Kya ho gaya hai Meri bachchi ko?" I heard Subho maa sobbing and my guilt doubled as I took a sharp intake of breath.

I put the glass back on the bedside table and cupped Mia's cheek before leaning down towards her face.

"Mia! Open your eyes baby! Please! I am so sorry baby! So sorry! Please just open your eyes!" I whispered as my eyes teared up.

"Yuvraj!" I heard mum and felt her placing a hand on my back.

I blinked my tears away before leaning back and turning to mum.

"Don't worry beta! Mia ko kuch nahi hoga! Tension mat lo!" Mum said and I found myself nodding distractedly. Everyone left the room except me and Maa so that she can check on Mia.

Maa sat beside Mia and took a hold of Mia's wrist. After checking her pulse, she scooted closer and checked her breathing by putting a finger under her nose. Then she checked her eyes and heartbeats.

"It's an anxiety attack! She must have panicked and it caused a sudden drop in her blood pressure, that's why she fainted! Nothing to worry about! She will be up in a few minutes!" Maa said, patting my back.

"I'm sorry maa!" I muttered, feeling ashamed of my actions.

"Why are you sorry beta?" She asked.

I looked up to meet her motherly gaze with my teary one and I felt one drop rolling down my cheek. I hurriedly wiped the tear away.

"It happened because of me! She fainted because of me maa! Aren't you angry at me for this condition of your daughter?" I asked.

She gave me a soft smile and patted my cheek lovingly.

"You're not at fault son! Your outburst was justified! And I know my daughter and how careless she can be! So the answer to your question is a big No! I'm not angry!" She said, making me shocked.

"B-but-!" I was cut off by her.

"I know! I know, son! But It wasn't because of your outburst which triggered this in Mia! Mia has been living her whole life with the cruel incidents that happened with her, which she has buried deep inside her mind. And when she saw your outburst maybe it just reminded her of something which she didn't want to remember! There is a side of her to which none of us are familiar. Yes! Even Avi and I! And I know she will open up to you! She trusts you more than anything and I have my faith in you that you will help her overcome the trauma she has been through! Promise me that you'll always take care of my daughter and will be with her on every step of her life!" Maa said and outstretched her hand towards me.

I looked down at her hand whilst millions of thoughts went through my mind.

"Promise me Yuvraj!" My head snapped up, bringing me back to reality when I heard maa again. I nodded and put my hand on her without hesitation.

"I promise maa! I will always take care of her! She will be my priority over everything and I will be there by her side, holding her hand with every step of her life!" I promised sincerely and maa gave me a teary smile.

She got up and kissed both of our foreheads.

"Okay! I will go and inform the others! They must be worried sick! Let her rest some more and she will be up in no time! And call me if you need something, okay!" Maa said and I nodded, muttering a thank you.

After she left, my eyes turned back to Mia and I found myself laying down beside her with my one arm under her head and the other on my stomach. My jaws clenched when I remembered all of the events that happened in the morning. Then I remembered how she was almost hanging down from her balcony and unknowingly the hand which was on my stomach went around her midriff and pried her closer to me. The mere thought of her leaving me caused havoc inside me.

She has become a habit of mine that I am addicted to. She has become the aurora over my skyline which I crave to see every morning. She makes me feel idyllic just by her presence. When she is on the bed, I feel like I have clinomania. I feel euphoric when she smiles and the reason is me. It is ineffable, when she does something especially for me. She is the precious passion of my life that I was yearning for. She has become the rainbow to my sky.

Pecking her forehead, I put her head in the crook of neck and wrapped both of my arms around her. I don't know how long I laid there looking up at the ceiling, but the next moment I felt Mia stirring in my arms which alarmed me and I unwrapped my arms around her. I sat straight beside her whilst holding her hands, waiting for her to wake up fully.

Her forehead crinkled in a frown as she pursed her lips in a thin line and a whimper left her mouth. My eyes widened and I started to pat her hair whilst whispering sweet words.

"Shh baby! I've got you! I'm here! I'm here!" I whispered.

She visibly calmed down before opening her eyes slowly. Wincing, she closed her eyes. Must be the lights! It took her sometime to adjust to the lights coming from the balcony but when her vision cleared she looked around with a frown. When her eyes fell on me, they widened and she got up with a jerk before backing away from me. My jaw hung open and I felt an ache in my heart.

"Y-y-yuvi!" She stammered whilst looking at me with fearful eyes.

My head lowered in shame as I realised that the love of my life is now afraid of me because of my stupid actions. The strands of hair falling on my forehead somehow hide my eyes from her which were aching to just look at her all day. I clenched my hands into fists on my thighs till the knuckles turned pale and my jaw ticked because of the anger that was boiling inside me.

"I-i will send someone!" I said before getting up and rushing out of the suite.

I closed the door behind me and took a deep breath as I blinked away the tears. Composing myself, I walked towards Sam's suite and knocked twice on the door. The door was opened by Sam and she looked at me weirdly.

"Mia needs you! Go to her room!" I said in an emotionless tone before walking towards the staircase.

"Bhai! Bha-! Wait!" Sam called out from behind me but I didn't stop and descended down the stairs in a hurry.

When I reached the ground floor, I was breathing heavily but I didn't stop and rushed towards the gym. Pushing the door open, I took quick strides towards the boxing ring and started punching the bag mercilessly.

11:03AM IST, Jun 8th

It's been half an hour since I have been punching this bag and now there is almost a crack on it and from the pain in my knuckles, I assume there are bruises on my hands as well.

Another punch from me and the bag bursts open, pouring the sand out on the floor. I was breathing heavily by now. Getting down from the boxing ring, I sat on one of the metal chairs with my elbows on my thighs and hung my head down to take deep breaths. I felt someone sitting beside me and I looked up to find Duggu bhai.

"Nikal liya sara gussa?" He asked.

Ignoring his question, I brought my attention back to the floor beneath me. When he didn't get a response from me, I heard him taking a deep breath.

"I know this is hard for you Raj! But remember she loves you as much as you love her! And trust me when I say this, that I've never seen a cute couple like you! I don't think I and Priya will be anywhere near you in the cuteness case! Don't tell Priya about this though!" Bhai said, making a small smile appear on my lips.

"I know you more than anyone else Raj! You are closer to me than mum and dad! And I know how you must be feeling right now! You are blaming yourself for Mia's condition, ain't you?" He asked.

I gulped down the lump which was forming in my throat before looking up at him.

"Of course I do bhai! Because I know it was my fault! If I didn't scream at her and behave in that way, nothing would've happened to her!" I said.

"Hmm!" Bhai hummed, nodding.

"Well! I won't say that you're completely right here because there was somewhere your mistake too! But there's no need to blame yourself! It all happened because you care for her. It was your concern speaking! But I will suggest that you keep your anger at bay! I know how angry you can be and Mia! Well I guess she has never seen you like this, which shocked her to this extent. She is a very innocent soul, Raj and I know you're aware of that too! Be patient and take care of your anger when she is around. Because I have never seen you this happy before her and I wouldn't want my little brother to lose something so dear to him!" He said, knocking some sense in me and I nodded.

"Good! Now freshen up and don't be a devdas okay? Oh I forgot to inform you! Abhi was about to come to meet you or more like beat the shit out of you! But somehow I controlled him so take care of your face when you face him! It looked like he was hell bound to break your nose." He said, dramatically making me chuckle and nod.

"That's like my bro! Tend that wound okay!" He said and I nodded. After he left, I sighed and slumped back on the chair, leaning my head back on the headrest.

I closed my eyes and ran my hand through my hair before getting up from the seat. I wiped the sweat off my neck and face before throwing the towel away. Looking down at my knuckles, I shook my head and walked out of the gym. I got into the elevator and went to our floor. When the lift door opened, I came out of it and walked towards my suite. My door froze on the doorknob and I looked towards my right at Mia's door. I sighed before pushing my door open and walking in.

Closing the door behind me, I turned around and froze in my place when I saw the figure sitting on my bed. The figure was none other than Mia. She was sitting on the bed and I noticed that she had changed her attire into a black belted floral-print shorts and strapped white bow crop top. Her hair was down, cascading down her back and she was looking at me with a pained expression in her eyes.

I stood frozen at my place because I didn't expect her to be here. How can I when I have seen her cowering away from me just an hour ago?! I gulped the nervousness down that was bubbling in the pit of my stomach and cleared my throat.

"Mi-Mia! What are you doing here?" I asked, looking anywhere but at her.

I am too ashamed to look at her right now!

I heard a sniff and the next moment I saw her running towards me from my peripheral vision. My eyes went to her when she crashed into my chest and my hands went flying around her tiny self to make sure she didn't fall.

Wrapping her arms around my neck, she started crying miserably by pushing her head into the crook of my neck, making me feel more guilt than before. My arms tightened around her chest whilst I pulled her body up, closer to me till her feet dangled in the air.

"Shh baby! Calm down! Why are you crying? What happened, love?" I asked but she didn't reply.

Instead she tightened her hold on me and cried harder than before. Picking her up as she wrapped her legs around my torso,I made my way towards the bed and sat down while placing her on my lap. I rubbed my hands on her back and hair soothingly whilst she clung onto me like a koala. Her body was shaking from the heavy sobs that left her mouth. My guts wrench hearing the sound of her crying.

"Shh love! I've got you!" I reassured her by kissing her temple again and again.

After a few minutes of soothing caresses and sweet words, she finally calmed down and pulled her head out from the crook of my neck. When she looked up at me, my heart broke all over again, seeing her tear stricken face and red nose, eyes and ears. Her lips were still trembling and her eyebrows were furrowed. I wiped the tears away tenderly with my thumb whilst she looked at me without saying anything. Heaving a sigh, I leaned down my forehead and pressed it against her whilst she closed her eyes and clutched my vest near my chest.

"Now tell me why were you crying, Cara?" I asked softly.

She opened her doe eyes and looked at me making a small smile appear on my face.

"I'm sorry Yuvi!" She whispered which wiped my smile off.

"What are you saying, love?" I asked in confusion.

"I'm sorry for pushing you away when all you needed was me! I'm sorry" She said, caressing my jaw.

"I was the one supposed to say sorry, baby! Not the other way around!" I sighed before pulling her closer.

"Yuv-! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR HANDS?" She screeched before jumping off my lap and grabbing my both hands.

She plopped down beside me on the bed whilst inspecting my knuckles which had reddish and purplish bruises around them. There was a little swell around the bruises as well. Her eyes teared up as she looked up at me in disbelief.

"What have you done to them Yuvi?" Her voice cracked at last.

"Hey hey! No need to cry princess! I'm fine! I promise!" I said cupping her cheeks.

"No you're not! You stay here!" She said, sniffing before she wiped the unshed tears off her eyes and got up from the bed.

"Where are you going?" I asked by taking a hold of her wrist.

"To get the first aid box from the washroom!" She said before snatching her hand and rushing towards the washroom.

I sighed and shook my head. Who can say that this girl was traumatised and fainted some hours ago?!

She came back with the first-aid box in her hand and plopped down beside me, putting the box between us. Taking her phone out she typed something before putting her phone away and opening the first-aid box. She took out a heparinoid cream tube and fishing the lid out, she put some on my bruises. After applying the cream all over my bruises which gave a cooling and relaxing effect to my knuckles, she put the cream back and wiped her hands with a tissue. I just sat there in silence with all my attention on my beautiful girl in front of me.

A knock on the door startled me and brought me back to reality. I was about to get up when Mia denied me and went to check the door by herself. She opened the door to reveal Sam and Sam handed something to her before waving at me and walking away. Mia closed the door and turned around towards me. I found a cold compress in her hands. She came and sat beside me before taking my hand and placing the pack on my one hand.

"There! It will help to decrease the swelling!" She said.

Bringing my other hand up I caressed her cheek tenderly with the back of my fingers which made her shiver and close her eyes for an instant. When she opened her eyes, we looked into each other's eyes with the growing intensity forming in them. Tilting my head, I took a hold of her chin as I leaned down towards her and placed my lips on her soft ones slowly. Then I started kissing her open mouthed. She placed her hands on my cheeks and I pulled her closer by her waist, placing her on my lap and retreating my hand from the ice pack. Our chests were touching at the same time with our lips. Sucking on her bottom lip, I drew out some blood making her hiss and I instantly soothed it with my tongue.

"Mine!" I growled on her lips between the kisses.

She placed her arms around my neck and tilted her neck a little, giving me more access.

My lips traveled down to her neck and stopped on her collarbone, placing feathery kisses the whole way. I sucked lightly on a spot making her whimper and that moment I knew that I caught her sensitive area on neck. I bit lightly at that same spot whilst her hands moved to my hair and she tugged on them. A groan left my lips and I bit on the same spot again, this time a bit harshly and she hissed in pain. I sucked the biting spot whilst soothing it with my tongue and she let out a loud moan making me feel more possessive over her and my hold tightened around her waist.

"Only mine!" I growled kissing her jawline.

Then kissing all the way back to her lips, I took her lips in mine again and roughly moved my lips against her. She tasted like strawberry and I couldn't help but get addicted to her taste. Feeling the urge to breathe, I left her lips with a tug as we both tried to catch our breath by pressing our foreheads together.

"I'm sorry for the morning incident! I was terrified when I saw you almost falling down from up there! I can't lose you baby! I love you way too much! I can't live without you! It's kind of impossible now!" I whispered as my eyes teared up remembering the incidents of this morning.

Looks like my tear tank needs a serious release!

"Hey! It's okay! I know you were scared and it was your emotions speaking! No need to say sorry anymore! I would've done the same if I were at your place! Because I can't lose you too! I love you!" She said, melting my heart with her sweet words.

I smiled widely at her, blinking the tears away that were threatening to fall down. She smiled back and caressed my cheek with her tiny fingers. Grabbing her fingers, I kissed on their tips and then on her nose tip making her giggle and squirm on my lap. I chuckled and hugged her tightly as she laid her head on my chest.

As we pulled back from the hug and were looking at each other lovingly, my stomach growled out of nowhere making me embarrassed.

Too much for a romantic moment!

I sheepishly smiled whilst rubbing the back of my neck whilst she smiled teasingly at me and then burst out in fits of giggles. Again a growl was heard and this time it came from her stomach. I raised my brow with a teasing smirk whilst her face flushed and I chuckled. She huffed and got up from my lap before plopping down beside me on the bed. I looked at the wall clock to find it's almost past 12 so I decided to order lunch for our-hungry-selves.

"What do you want to eat?" I asked, searching through the in-room tablet.

"Mm anything would do!" She shrugged.

"How does Italian sound?" I asked.

"Brilliant!" She grinned, making me chuckle. I shook my head before ordering our food.

I specially ordered calzones, chicken skillet, tomato spaghetti and Nutella Soufflé for dessert. After ordering our meals, I kept the tablet down and sat beside Mia holding her hand in mine.

"Wanna watch a movie with lunch?" I asked.

"Like a date?" She asked, quirking her brow.

"Yeah! Like a date!" I confirmed, nodding my head.

"Sounds awesome!" She grinned.

I gave her a smile as we both got up from the end of the bed and walked towards the headboard. I dropped the blinds with the remote as she turned the TV on. I plopped down beside her and rested my back on the headboard and she scooted closer to me. I wrapped my arm around her and pecked her head as she went through the movie list. Soon enough, she chose one called The lucky one!

Just as she was about to play the movie, there was a knock on the door.

"Must be the room service! I'll be back!" I said as I unwrapped my arm around her and got up from the bed before asking towards the door.

I opened the door and took the tram from the server before mumbling thank you and walking back in by pushing the tram. Mia was about to get down from the bed when I stopped her.

"Mia! You stay there, I will serve you!" I said.

"No! Your knuckles are already bruised and swollen! They need rest to heal completely so no way I'm going to let you do anything! You go and sit down, I will do this!" She said as she climbed off the bed and pushed me on the bed.

I sighed before nodding and taking my place back whilst she served the food on a plate. After grabbing a spoon, fork and knife, she climbed back on the bed and sat down beside me, holding the plate on her lap.

"I will feed you today! You just give rest to your hands, yeah?" She nodded, looking towards my knuckles and I nodded in agreement.

I played the movie and she fed me a bite before having a bite by herself as we both watched the movie, snuggling into each other's warmth.

02:02PM IST, Jun 8th

The movie just ended and I must say that it was a good one but I didn't like it a bit because Mia was constantly crushing on Zac all along and it kinda made my heart burn in jealousy. Whenever she will squeal or gush over him, I will make a sulking face and groan out loud to catch her attention. And it would work! It would get her attention and when she would realise that I was jealous, she would look at me in amazement and would kiss my cheeks for reassurance. And in return, I would wrap my arms around her waist and crush her to my chest tightly.

"Okay! Now I need to go and take some rest before the evening! And you! Take some rest and don't give too much pressure on your knuckles okay!" She said and kissed my forehead, making me smile.

I cupped her cheek and pecked her lips before letting her go.

"Bye! Love you!" She squeaked, rushing towards the door.

"Love you too!" I said out loud for her to hear and she gave me a wide grin as she closed the door behind her making me chuckle at her antics.

Sighing, I laid back on the bed and decided to take a nap before the evening. I set an alarm and drifted off.

Buttoning the cufflinks of my sangeet outfit, I smoothened the fabric with my hands and checked myself in the mirror. My outfit was a Black tux jacket with black sequin embroidery. It was paired with a black pants with a sequin panel on the side and a white button down shirt inside. I had paired the outfit with a pair of slick black Armani shoes. My raven hair was gelled back and I had the black Patek Philippe watch tied on my wrist.

Sighing, I raked a hand through my hair and checked the time on my wrist watch. There was still some time left before the function starts and as usual I have a surprise planned for my lady love. But that's not what I am anxious for right now! Why would I be? Because I know I will do good! 

The thing getting me anxious and eager is the thirst of seeing Mia. She is just a wall apart from me yet I couldn't see her because I didn't want her to be a victim of the teases from her friends and cousins right now. They wouldn't leave a day teasing her and somehow it is getting on my nerves. She will be nervous and all blushy when they'll tease her about us. And for a particular reason, I didn't like her blushing and the reason is not me. Call me possessive, but that's how I am! You must have known me enough still now! 

After making sure I looked my best, I made my way out of the suite and glanced at Mia's door which was closed. A tap on my shoulder startled me and I snapped my head towards the direction, only to widen my eyes in shock.

"The fuck!!!!" The words left my mouth when I stared at the weird creatures in front of me in disbelief and bewilderment.

"Hey Man! How do we look?" Varun chortled, waving at me.

Whilst the other creature beside him which was undoubtedly Armaan just wiggled his eyebrows and man I wasn't this scared ever in my twenty six years of life.

"What the fuck is wrong with your faces?! What have you done to your faces?!" I hissed, pointing at the weird thing on their faces.

Both of the idiots frowned and looked at each other before screaming and stepping back from each other with a horrified expression on their faces.

Great! I didn't expect this! Now don't tell me that they haven't seen each other's faces till now before coming to me and traumatising me?!

Their faces were heavily caked up with eye-hurting make-up. Golden glittery eyeshadow with black glittery wings! Kohl smashed over the lower lids of their eyes! Rosy pink glowing blush! Matte lipstick having glossy and shining lip gloss over them! Thick, long eyelashes! And white crisped button down shirt with black pants and black waistcoat and black shiny shoes, which was the theme costume for the dance face-off.

Damn they look horrible!

"WHAT THE HELL! YEH KAISE HUA?!" Armaan bellowed, making me cringe at his loud tone. And I guess the whole hotel must have heard his thunderous voice till now!

"KAISE HUA NAHIN, KISNE KIYA PUCH!" Varun yelled out just after him making me groan in pain. Damn! RIP my eardrums!

"Shut the hell up guys! You're going to make me deaf!" I hissed in a low tone whilst rubbing my ears to soothe the pain.

"What's happening here guys?" I heard from behind me and turned around to find Sam, Shree and Shanaya with their hands on their hips.

Sam was wearing a heavily embellished stellar pink dress with floral and Victorian styled embroidery decorated with silver kora dabka, Swarovski and pearls. It came with a pink jamawar sharara. The outfit is beautifully decorated with thick floral borders on all sides. Shree was wearing a white net front open lehenga embellished with fuchsia Swarovskis and silver kora dabka. The outfit is beautifully coordinated with a powder pink dupatta with embellished borders on all sides. Shanaya had an ivory lehenga with an ivory floor length net paneled jacket embellished with small silver motifs. The front and back are highlighted with silver crystal worked vertical stripes. It is finished with an ivory jamawar inner gown with a train. The outfit is paired with an ivory net dupatta and is embellished with silver small and big motifs at both ends. It is further enhanced with sequin spray on the entire dupatta and is finished with beautiful silver kora balls on all four sides.

"Look at them and you'll find what exactly happened!" I mocked before taking a step aside so they could also see the wonderful creatures behind me.

They frowned when they saw the sight in front of me, making me frown as well. I turned around to find Varun and Armaan scurrying away with their backs facing us. I smirked when I saw two ladies coming towards us and they were talking to each other. Their eyes haven't fallen on Varun and Armaan yet and I was waiting for the moment when their eyes will find the weirdos in front of them.

And the moment came! Their eyes fell on the idiots in front of them. I saw as their eyes widened comically and then we heard two loud screams coming out of their mouths. Varun and Armaan jumped at their places and screams left their mouths as well making me groan.

Why is everyone screaming so much today?! Oh of course! Because of these two jokers!

In hurry, Varun and Armaan turned around facing us which made the ladies scream behind me. And now I wanted to bang my head on the wall! 

"Kisi aur k cheekhne se pehle nikal le yahan se beta!" I muttered under my breath before I rushed into the elevator and punched the banquet hall floor button.

The elevator doors pinged open and I stood in front of the enormous entranceway of the banquet hall. The entryway was decorated beautifully. There was a colourful board hanging up just before the entry quoting #𝑃𝑎𝑑𝒉𝑎𝑟𝑜. Satin ribbons in multiple colours and breadths hung down by the board with some glass ornament. Vibrants coloured flowers like red and pink brought the arena alive. Tassels and twirls dazzled the entryway. Fairy lights by the sides of the entryway were cascading down like a waterfall along with the large candles by their sides. Long, flowy drapes wrapped across pillars, ceilings looked even dreamier and gave a fairy tale look to the entryway. 

I walked forward through the entryway and finally reached the venue, the banquet hall. The moment I entered the venue, it had a big chandelier which looked very eye-catching. The purple orchids, pink carnations and other artificial motifs make the arrangement look very breath-taking. As I moved ahead, I witnessed a beautiful walkway with purple, golden and pink artificial flowers embedded on the wall to complement the whole decor. Moreover, it had pink chiffon draped in the shape of a hollow sphere with pink carnations around the borders, which gives it a gorgeous vision. Also, we can see a few roses along the area to provide it with a different look. 

Breathtaking as it looks, it had one more white chandelier properly stuffed as well as drooping white asteria as well as pink carnations on the borders. Also, I could see the purple tissues on the side in the form of roses. The lounge area, supposedly the most happening place to sit with friends and families to have chats, is decorated with white sofas. Decorating the space, it had an artificial tree on either side with purple orchids featuring on it giving it a stuffed look. Moreover, on the ceiling, it had lights in the form of candles hanging from white threads lighting up the area. The stage area for the bride-groom, for me and Mia, had a royal looking sofa and had the prettiest of all the spots because all the eyes are gonna be on there. The backdrop is beautified with pink, white and purple flowers. Also, the chandeliers have pink chrysanthemum flowers to give it a bulky look. Accompanying the floral backdrop, it had three solid romanticised frames (inspired by art nouveau) pinned to the wall with blush pink and dark pink flowers filling the inner areas.

Then there was the entertainment stage in blue decor, with bulbs hanging from the ceiling for decoration for the special sangeet night. There were more than 200 disco glittering balls hanging down from the ceiling of the stage giving it a vube of bedazzling sangeet night. The whole banquet hall's ceiling had pastel hued ruffled drapes, shimmery and crystal strings and colourful hanging butterflies. Pink rose and bulb strings gave it a dreamy look and lastly the tiny beaded crystal chandeliers along with a plethora of blooms ladened ceiling beautified the place quite uniquely.

Another lounge and dining area with white and gold decor, it had pink button chrysanthemum flowers hanging by the ceiling with a thin thread. Also, the walls are beautified with sconce lamps in yellow colour to give a golden effect. The rectangular dining tables have two vases on either side with pink roses. The chairs are covered with white tissue cloth and a golden netted material tied around to make a bow which looks fantastic. Round dining tables covered with white cloth of damask print. While the chairs are covered with white tissue cloth and netted material used to make a bow shape around it. Dry sticks and pink-white roses are used to make the centrepiece of the table. 

There was a bar area by the corner as well having typical Bollywood dialogues like 𝑇𝑢𝑠𝑠𝑖 𝐽𝑎𝑎 𝑅𝑎𝒉𝑒 𝒉𝑜! 𝑇𝑢𝑠𝑠𝑖 𝑛𝑎 𝑗𝑎𝑎𝑜! And etc.

Come on we are punjabis and a Punjabi wedding is incomplete without drinks! Ain't it!

And not to forget the neon signs having quotes and hashtags. Some quotes were like, 𝑇𝒉𝑒 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑦 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠𝑛'𝑡 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑤𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑙𝑘 𝑖𝑛, 𝐷𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡𝒉 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝒉𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡 and etc.

𝚂𝙰𝙽𝙶𝙴𝙴𝚃 𝚅𝙴𝙽𝚄𝙴

The guests had already started to arrive and Sahil along with Sid and Veer were welcoming them inside. They were wearing the same costume as Varun and Armaan. Without wasting time, I walked up to them. Their eyes snapped to mine when they heard me advancing towards them and I gave each of them a brotherly hug. 

"Hey guys!" I greeted them.

"You look dapper, man!" Veer said.

"Thank you! So they're ready?" I said in a low tone so no one could hear me. 

"Yeah! Their performance will be the first after yours to inaugurate the event!" Sid nodded.

"Good! Where are they right now?" I asked.

"Don't worry Raj! They are in my suite! I'm not sharing the suite with anyone, so there would not be any problem in the surprise!" Sahil said.

"Good!" I nodded back.

"Okay then I need to check on mum! I will be back!" I said to which they nodded.

Shoving my hands in my pants pockets, I walked towards the bride & groom stage where mum, chachi, Subho maa and Rani ma were doing some last minute preparations.

"Hey ladies!" I addressed as I touched all of their feet and they blessed with some phrases like 𝐾𝒉𝑢𝑠𝒉 𝑅𝑎𝒉𝑜 𝑏𝑒𝑡𝑎, 𝐺𝑜𝑑 𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑦𝑜𝑢, 𝑀𝑎𝑎 𝑑𝑢𝑔𝑔𝑎 𝑡𝑢𝑚𝒉𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑎𝑟𝑖 𝑚𝑢𝑠𝒉𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑜𝑛 𝑠𝑒 𝑏𝑎𝑐𝒉𝑎𝑦𝑒𝑖𝑛 & 𝑆𝑡𝑎𝑦 𝒉𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦. They all were looking marvelous in their attire.

"You all are looking gorgeous! Dad, chachu will handle things with mum and Chachi! and we need to keep an eye on you two! We cannot trust the unknown males around you today!" I said, mischievously.

Mum and Chachi gasped in shock whilst the other two just shook their heads with a smile. Taking a hold of my ear, Chachi twisted it painfully.

"Ow ow Chachi! What are you doing?!" I shrieked.

"Badmaash! Bilkul bhi sharam nahi hai na tujhe!" Chachi scolded me, making the others snicker.

"Sorry sorry Chachi! Main to yu hi mazak kar raha tha! Ab chor bhi toh, dard ho raha hai!" I said, showing her my puppy eyes.

Chachi chuckled but left my ear at last making me sigh in relief.

"So is everything alright here and can I help somehow?" I asked.

"Nahi beta! Sab ready ho chuka hai! We were just checking the decor here! Aur tum yahan kya kar rahe ho, tumhare dad tumhare liye puch rahe the!" Mum said.

"Oh yeah? I didn't know! I will check on him then! Do you know where he is?" I asked.

"Yeah! He is talking to some guests there!" Mum said, pointing towards Dad who was standing beside the couches.

Dad was not alone. Papa, chachu, Rajveer uncle and Prem uncle were there with him as well. 

"Okay! Thank you mum! I will take my leave now!" I said before rushing down the stairs which were covered with a red coloured stair carpet. 

I greeted them and took their blessings before greeting the guests they were talking to. Dad told me he was searching for me to introduce me with the guests he was talking to, who were friends of his. I politely smiled and talked with them for some moment before Sid came to me. I excused myself and walked away with Sid.

"Kya hua?" I asked as Sid and I finally reached in front of my other friends. Varun and Armaan were also present there and their faces were now clear of make-up.

"Oh! You're here! Nice to see you without that horrible thing on your face!" I mocked, which made them glare at me.

"What horrible thing?" Sid asked, frowning.

"Oh kuch nahin! Kuch nahin! Raj toh yu hi mazak kar raha tha! Haina Raj?" Varun scowled at me to go along with their play.

"Sure!" I snickered and the two glared at me whilst the others looked at us in confusion.

"Raj kar raha hoga mazak! Lekin main nahi karunga!" Veer said before taking out his phone from his back pocket.

He scrolled through the phone and then turned the phone to us. My eyes widened and I pursed my lips to stop myself from laughing. Varun and Armaan gasped. The others looked quite awkward in hiding their laughs.

The photos were showing Varun and Armaan sleeping with their mouths wide open and their faces were caked up with the makeups.

"What the hell! How did you get the ph-! Wait a minute! It was you! Wasn't it?" Armaan shrieked.

"Bingo!" Veer exclaimed and we all burst out laughing. 

"That was for hitting on my innocent sister!" Veer smirked, making us double up in laughing.

Varun blushed furiously and looked anywhere except at us.

"Hey! Toh phir ye sirf Varun k saath hona chahiye tha na?! Main kyu?!" Armaan whined.

"Ah well! That credit goes to my partner in crime! Alia! You were sleeping beside V and let's just say we couldn't resist that beautiful face of yours!" Veer shrugged.

Our jaws hung open when we heard who was his partner in crime. My innocent Alia?! God! What had they done to my baby?!

After some minutes

Currently I was sitting on a couch in the guest area with Alia on my lap and my friends and cousins beside me. 

Alia was wearing a navy blue net jacket over an inner cobalt blue, jamawar gown. The jacket is embellished with silver kora dabka floral hand embroidery all over the jacket and sleeves with big motifs on the border ; the back has sequin spray all over with a composed neckline and a train.

Just some times more and Mia will arrive at the venue along with her family. And the surprise I have prepared for her is going to leave her gobsmacked. 

"There you are!" I heard bhabhi and looked up to find her looking as beautiful as she always looks like.

She was wearing a light pink high and low angrakha embellished with silver kora dabka, pearl and sequins. Sleeves of the shirt are beautifully decorated with vintage inspired frames. The daaman of the shirt is enhanced with a scalloped border. It is finished with a heavily embellished silver lehenga skirt. A gradient dupatta beautifully adorned with floral motifs all over was hanging from her right shoulder. The dupatta is further enhanced with floral borders on two lengths of the border.

"Hey Bhabhi!" We all greeted her and she greeted us in return.

"Alia chalo mere saath! And Yuvi, get ready Mia will be here at any moment okay!" She winked before taking Alia with her.

"Okay guys! Let's go, it's time to surprise my girl!" I announced as all of my cousins and friends who were sitting beside me got up from their seats and cheered.

The moment was finally here when the bride will take her grand entry through the entryway. The banquet hall which was buzzing with music and guests chatting was now silent as everyone stood in their places with the pink rose petals in their hands, waiting for the bride to arrive. 

Mum, dad, Duggu bhai, bhabhi, Alia, Sam, chachi, chachu, Rani ma and Pihu stood by the stage waiting for the arrival of the bride with her family whilst the Johnson's, Hina, my cousins and other relatives just behind them were doing the same. 

A red carpet all the way from the entrance leading to the stage was waiting for my girl's arrival as well and I was getting restless because of the waiting session.

Finally the moment arrived! The light of the banquet hall dimmed and a soft melody played in the background. And that's when we all got a glimpse of my beautiful bride. My Mia who looked nothing less than a fairy in her attire. 

She was wearing an ash grey short net shirt fully embroidered pattern all over with beautiful Swarovski crystals, kora dabka and sequins work and full net embellished sleeves. Along the daaman, cutwork borders enhance the shirt on the front and back. The back of the shirt is highlighted with an embellished neckline with sequin sprayed all over. It comes with a pink jamawar bustier. The outfit is beautifully coordinated with a salmon pink floral net sharara with pastel colored embellished motifs and is finished with organza borders. The outfit is paired with a charcoal grey dupatta with sequins sprayed all over and swirl pattern embellished motifs at the corner. It is finished with a scalloped embellished border all around the dupatta. 

There was a crystal circlet around her hair. A rose gold and diamond pair of dangling earrings in her ears, a butterfly pink hairpin on her hair holding them tightly. A round crystal and pearls headpiece, a beautiful choker and a set of powder pink and silver bangles adored her beauty. A diamond haath phool in her both hands made her beautiful skin appear more enchanting.

She has kept her makeup simple by rose gold eyeshadow, long fluttery eyelashes, mascara, winged eyeliner and red berry lips. And her hair tied in a braided barrette with artificial glittery baby butterflies in them. She has worn a pair of blush pink Jimmy Choo high heels and held a champagne and gold vintage style rhinestone clutch in her hand whilst the other hand held onto her lehenga.

Abhi held her one hand and maa, papa, stood beside her other side. Subho maa, Shree, Armaan, Shanaya, Prem uncle, Rajveer uncle and Twinkle aunty stood behind Mia. Shree gave Mia an encouraging push, maa and papa gave her an encouraging nod and smile whilst Abhi gave an encouraging squeeze to her hand as he led Mia inside. Mia took her first step inside as the lyrics of the song played.

The guests who were standing by the sides started to shower the petals on her, making her smile giddily as her eyes shone with unexplainable happiness. As expected her eyes roamed around the hall and I knew she was searching for me so I took some steps back and hid behind the drapes on the pillar. 

Along with the whole hall, the corner was dark as well and there were only two sources of lights illuminating the place which were the spotlight and the fairy lights. The spotlight which was on Mia and the fairy lights everywhere barely made me recognisable.

As she finally reached in front of the stage she took blessings from mum, dad, Rani ma and other elders. Mum kissed her forehead tenderly and dad caressed her head with a wide smile on his face. Duggu bhai and bhabhi hugged her. Sam hugged her jumping up and down at her place like a kangaroo.

Then Mia bent down in front of Alia and hugged her as Alia wrapped her arms around Mia's neck tightly and kissed her cheek. Rose gave her a hug along with Pihu as well as the last phrase of the song was playing.

The song ended and in the darkness I made my way to the entertainment stage where I will be giving my surprise performance. My friends and cousins along with some professional dancers also took their trance around me. I have taken the overcoat off so now I was just in my white button down shirt, the sleeves of which were folded up to my elbows and the black pants. The background buzzed with the melodious song.

The spotlight fell on me and I have my back facing the guests and all. The murmur started and then I heard loud cheers coming from the guests. And that's when the lyrics played.

Others on the stage started to move along the lyrics whilst I stood like a statue with my back facing the guests.

I faced the guests whilst lip-synching and looking straight into the eyes of my girl as I danced which got me the cheers from the crowd and a giggle from Mia.

The song went on with all of us performing on the stage quite comically which made the crowd burst out in laughter and they cheered for us joyfully. After the song ended, I grabbed the guitar from Mia and stood in front of the mic.

"This one is for you!" I said in the mic whilst looking at Mia who smiled in encouragement.

I sang Tera Hone Laga Hoon from Ajab Prem ki Ghazab kahani by Atif Aslam and all the while my eyes were on Mia who kept a dazzling smile on her face. The loud cheers and claps made me happy as soon the song ended and I found myself rushing down the stage towards Mia.

"Come with me!" I said as I took a hold of her hand and dragged her up on the stage with me.

The dancers, my cousins and friends again appeared behind me and the new song played.

Leaving her hand when we reached the middle of the stage, I started to perform along with the others on the stage. Mia had a surprised yet delighted look on her face as she stood there awkwardly playing with the dupatta hanging from her shoulder.

Throughout the song, I would do some mischief like bump my shoulder on hers, catch her off-guard by kissing her cheeks, by lifting her in my arms and more. Sometimes she would give me a glare and sometimes she would just shake her head, mumbling impossible under her breath. At last, when the female singer's lyrics were played, Mia played her part and shook her legs with me which got more cheers from the crowd.

After the song ended, the guests cheered for us and we gave a hug to each of my cousins and friends before I led Mia to our stage. I held her one arm whilst looking down at her lehenga as she carefully took steps with me and then we sat down on the couch, designed especially for us. I took her hand in mine, lacing our fingers and placed it on my thigh.

It was time for Mia's second surprise and to announce it Armaan and Sam went up to the entertainment stage.

"Hello, sat sri akaal and kemon acho guys! I am Samaira Singhania alongside my best friend, Armaan Ahuja, welcoming all of you tonight on the sangeet night of my bhai and my bestie, who is now my soon-to-be bhabhi!" Sam announced, making everyone cheer in excitement.

"So without any further delay, let's start today's event with an amazing surprise for the bride planned by the groom!" Armaan announced and again we heard cheers.

Mia turned to look at me with a frown and I just gave her a reassuring smile.

You'll love the surprise baby! I thought with a victorious smile on my face.
