1: The Feeling

'That would be 12.39$ sir,' you handed him the scanner.

'Can I get a discount from this pretty lady in front of me?' He asked with a slight drunken tone; as you reached over to him you smelled a reek of alcohol.

'Sir you are drunk. Would you like me to call a taxi for you?'

'Who's DRUNK, huh? I can drive perfectly fine!'

'Sir, you are not only putting your life at risk but others too. Not only that, but according to the criminal code-act 96, you'll be paying a sum of 850$ for drunk driving alone, not including all expenses.'

'Fine, fine...here's the cash. Keep the change.'

You smiled, 'You still got it Y/N.'

You've been working at the convenience store for the past five years now, ever since your freshman year at school. Throughout the years, you've learned many clever ways to read people and how to persuade them, like that drunk man.

. . .

As you were resting your head on your hand, watching the clock go by, a man throws a bunch of bandages and antibacterial wipes on the counter.

You fixed you gaze at the limping man as your eyes travelled over to his left leg to see that it was... wait... SHOT?!

'S-sir are you o-okay? Your leg...w-what happened?'

You asked feeling a rush of anxiety and concern through your body.

He looked at you and then looked away, ignoring the question as it was gone by the wind.

You've never met someone so cold before, however, his eyes...his eyes were different.

. . .

A few moments later, two armed officers entered who more looked like police. They swarmed outside as if they were looking for someone.

You looked at the guy and his expression changed, and this time he looked more panicked.

As the officers entered the store, you grabbed the man's collar and dragged him behind the counter.

'Good evening ma'am! Have you seen this man enter the store by any chance?'

One of the police man held up a picture of the dude you were holding behind the counter.

'N-no sir.'

They nodded slightly and left.

'Wah! Am I a criminal now?'

You asked yourself as the adrenaline started to kick in.

'I'm the one shot here, aren't I? Don't be dramatic.' The man replied.

'Woah! You really are something, huh? I saved your life and you're not even gonna tha-'

'I wasn't asking.'

He cut you off and left, as he limped his way out.

It's been a few weeks and you've noticed that every time you went out, you felt eyes on you. Until one night, a suspicious guy wearing what seemed to be a construction worker's uniform, entered the store.

You became nervous as beads of sweat formed on your forehead.

He placed a pack of cigarettes on the counter to pay.

'Your work must be nice and quite unlike mine.' The man looked at you and smiled.

'Weird!'

'What is it?' He chuckled.

'Your hands. They're too dainty and nice for a construction worker.'

You scoffed as his expression turned into a serious one as he took out his police badge from his pocket.

'You are a very clever young lady, but I need you to come with me,' he replied and your eyes widened.

'No!' You protested, but he grabbed your arm with force.

All of a sudden a man wearing a hoodie and a mask, punches him and the man falls on the ground unconscious.

It was the same man from a few nights ago.

'You again? What are you doing here?'

'The police and some other guys are looking for me, they reviewed the security cameras and saw how you helped me... now they think that you work with me and won't leave you.' He said casually.

'Well- why are they looking for you?'

'Let's just say I'm not a good person.' He gave you that same cold look.

'Are you really? Then why did you save me from that guy?'

'Because you saved me and I don't owe anyone.'

'So what do I do now?' You fiddled with your fingers.

'Come with me.' He said bluntly.

You shot your head up as your eyes widened.

'W-what did you just say?'

'You heard me, stop acting like you didn't,' he spoke with a face as if none of this was a big deal to him.

'Wha-no...Why would I leave my life just to save you from police? I can't believe you can ask such a thing!'

He looked at you and all of a sudden, came closer and closer until he picked you up on his shoulders, carrying you out of the store.

He then spoke in a low voice, 'I wasn't asking !'

'Yahh! Put me down!' You squirmed in his grip.

He puts you down and opens his car trunk removing his shirt.

Y/N

'W-what are you doing?' I quickly turned my face trying to calm my nerves.

'There's some blood on my hoodie, so I'm changing.'

'W-well I'm leaving.' I tried to get back up to leave.

He suddenly raised his voice startling me and making me stop in my tracks.

'GET IN!'

I shook my head.

'Don't make me make you!'

He said in a serious tone, making me have no choice but to follow.

. . .

'W-what?... Is this your house?' I asked but didn't get a reply.

'Do you live here alo-'

'Can you shut up!' He continued on the driveway.

'Wahh seriously! This guy has no heart!' I thought.

. . .

Third person

As you entered, he turned to you and spoke, 'while we're here, let me brief you all the rules, don't touch my things, don't go into my room, you can't call anyone, can't leave this house without my permission, and you can't ask me dumb questions... and by the way, myself Jeon Jungkook.'

You choked on the drinking water when he told you his name.

While you were working at the convenience store, you've come across many magazines about law and crime, and his name would always be a hot topic on being the most dangerous underground gang leader of Korea.

'By your face, I can tell, you already know who I am.'

'And I'm guessing you already know everything about me,' you gulped.

'Good! You're finally using your brain for once.'

He left signaling the maid to show you to your room.

Y/N

I know Jungkook is the member of one the biggest gang of Korea, he definitely won't let anyone in his house without knowing them. So, he indeed do all classic background check on me.

I got to my room and sat on the bed thinking of ways to escape.

'I need to get out of here.'

. . .

Third person

All of a sudden, Jungkook entered the room.

'Here are some clothes! Make yourself look decent for once!'

He placed the shopping bags and left.

The maid organized your clothes in the closet.

'You must be boss's girlfriend. You know he's never done such things for anyone,' she smiled.

'What do you mean by that?'

'Well, he bought clothes for you, redesigned this room to fit a girl's liking, he generally doesn't care that much for anyone.'

She bowed and left.

'Maybe he isn't that bad.'

You said under your breathe.

_ _ _

It's been a few days and you don't know how long you can take in this enormous house.

'J-Jungkook please let me leave... this place is gonna drive me crazy!'

'I said NO!' He scoffed.

'Please...I-I need to see someone... I need to see m-my b-boyfriend.'

'I said no. You can ask for anything, new clothes, new room, a pet but you can't leave this house unless I say so.' He said and left.

You felt helpless and his coldness didn't help.

Tears started to fill the brim of your eyes.

'Don't cry ma'am, that's how boss deals with things, If he says "no" to something... nothing can ever change his mind!'

. . .

A week passed but still nothing happened, you were still imprisoned.

As you were walking down the stairs, you saw maids running back and forth carrying medicine.

'W-what's going on?' You asked one of them.

'Boss is really sick, but he won't let anyone step in his room!'

Although he made my life a living hell and I could've easily grabbed this opportunity of fleeing away, but my heart and inner instincts were telling me something else.

'But if none of us help, he'll worsen it more, give it to me.'

You grabbed the tray of medicine and entered his room.

'I said, GET OUT!' He raised his voice.

'No! I'm staying here.'

He got up and grabbed your arm pushing you out of the room but you pushed the door back.

'If you let me take care of you, I promise I won't ask to leave and I'll stay here by your side as long as you want me to.' You spoke gently hoping that he would give up.

Why did I even say that?

'Do what you want!'

He lies back down and you smile, entering the room with the medicine.

A few hours passed and Jungkook slept like a baby.

You came back in the room with a dampened cloth.

You grabbed some more blankets and placed them over him.

'You'll be all fine I promise.'

You spoke gently and turned to leave when all of a sudden he stops you.

'Y/N...'

'Y-yes? Do you need anything?'

'I'll let you see him... your boyfriend.'

'Really? Thank you!' You smiled excitedly.

'But you have to promise me one thing...'

'What is it Jungkook?'

Jungkook

Amidst the ruthlessness and roughness of the life that I had been living, just being taken care of for the first time since my mother, was something I never thought I craved. It was as if no matter how much I tried to deny this persona of mine, I couldn't help but crave it more. This definitely didn't suit for a mafia like me, I had to get out of this before it could overpower me... but the words that came out of my mouth were louder than anything I've ever said,

'promise me, you'll stay by my side.'
