MALAYAH~

I recently stopped talking to Dre because he didn't understand friendship boundaries. He has since tried to contact me non stop but I ignored him every time. It was a Sunday afternoon and I was chilling on the couch with the kids watching movies while it rained. Even though this was our 800th time watching Moana Imani insisted that we watch it again. I started to doze off until I felt my phone vibrate I didn't even look at it guessing that it was Dre. My phone rung again causing me to open my eyes and finally look to see that it was Phor calling me.

"Hey wassup" I said sleepy into the phone
"Yoo he's out of his coma get down here now"
I sprung up off of the couch quickly the kids looked at me as if I was crazy.

"Okay I'm coming right now" I hung up the phone and went upstairs grabbing the kids rain boots. "Here put these on and grab your coats"I ran back upstairs and put on my coat and shoes. "Alright lets go" I said coming back down the stairs and heading to the door.

"Where are we going Layah?" Jayden asked

"It's a surprise" I grabbed Ryan's car keys to his truck and we left out the door. After getting the kids buckled in and trying not to get soaked I was finally in the driver seat. Before I backed out of the garage. I looked over at Ryan's drop top car which still had the bullet holes in them and sighed. When I cleaned the blood out of the car I cried the whole time thinking I would never see the love of my life again.

I cleared my throat and backed out of the garage heading to the hospital. Once we arrived Jayden flooded me with plenty of questions as grew impatient.
"Why are we here? Is someone hurt again?"

"It's a surprise you just have to wait" I parked the car and got the kids out we ran into the hospital trying not to get wet. I seen London in the front waiting for us. "Heyy my babies" she kneeled down and hugged them.

"Is he in the same room?" I asked
"Yes go ahead I'll stay here with the kids"

I proceeded to the elevator and my mind was all over the place. After getting off the elevator and walk down the hallway I stood in front of Ryan's door which was cracked and I could hear him talking to Phor.

"Send me all of the information on him, I'll kill him myself one I'm able to return back to my normal self"

I slowly pushed the door open and walked in. Phor looked at me "What's up" then back to Ryan "I got you bro just rest and we will handle business once you out of here" he left out the room.

I expected to see Ryan smiling or resting his body, he did neither one which confused me. "Hey I missed you so much" I leaned over the bed hugging him. He stared at me and said "Who is Dre"

I rolled my eyes Phor and London was exaggerating me having a male friend so much it was irritating we haven't talked in a while. I shrugged and responded "Just a new person in our neighborhood why?"

"I heard he was more than just a new person, Malayah don't play with me"

I sighed and sat in the chair next to him. "Why are you always worried about the wrong shit Ryan, you literally are in the hospital worried about some dude I'm sure London and Phor over exaggerated about, let's worry about your health, therapy, family, you know stuff like that"

He looked away "whatever man you heard what I said, you gone get homeboy killed"

"You always wanna kill somebody Ryan damn can you not be James Bond for one day" I laughed "But is there any update on when you get out of here"

"Trying to figure that out now, I'm ready to get out of here they want me to eat this nasty ass food, then do a workout and wake up all different times of the night yo draw blood"

"You have to do it though, it's for your health I'll be able to bring you food so don't worry about that"

"Man fuck them im leaving tonight"

"Why are you so hard headed" I sat back in my chair

He was about to respond but then London walked in with the kids.

"Daddy!" They screamed

"Aww man wassup" Ryan hugged them and kissed their foreheads

"When are you coming home" Jayden asked

"Maybe tonight I have to get back well but I can do that at the house"

"Good because I have so much to show you dad"

"Alright I can't wait to see everything, what about you baby girl" he tickled Imani.

"She moved up to a advanced class in the daycare, I just have to get her to stop sucking her pacifier then we will officially have a big girl"

Ryan took her pacifier out of her mouth and she started whining.

"Stop it" He said and she immediately stopped crying. I was in shock because she usually would throw a fit with me and fall out on the floor.

"Wow you need to come home asap because she obviously listens to you more than me" we laughed "But its time to get home you guys I have to cook dinner and get your lunches ready for tomorrow"

I stood up reaching for Imani and she put on a show with her crocodile tears.

"Say bye to daddy" She waved her hand and laid her head on my shoulder. I leaned down giving Ryan a kiss "I love you so much baby, I will be back in the morning as soon as I drop the kids off"

"I love you too, call me tonight it's boring as hell in here give me some phone action or something"

I laughed and grabbed Jayden's hand "you're just so nasty, I love it though" we said our goodbyes and headed out the hospital. I seen someone leaning on the front of my car as we got to the parking lot the closer we walked the more Familiar the face became.
"What do you want Dre?"

"Im sorry Malayah can we still be friends?"

I sighed and shifted my weight onto my hip as I help Imani.

"Yes We can still be friends"
