"Well what have you accomplished so far"

I pulled out one of my blunts I rolled earlier"I was able to get her to break up with him, now she single and lost. You know she can't do shit without him" I laughed because it was true

"Ain't shit funny, I want that nigga dead and keep her as far away from him as you can"

I shook my head because this nigga was giving orders like he was my boss or something. "I said I got it, it'll be done the way I want it to be done * You have 10 seconds remaining on the call*"

"Alright young blood im trusting you, when I call you back within the next few month Ryan should be dead"

"Alright" The phone hung up and I  started smoking as I waiting in the car across the street from Malayah's apartment. I must admit her ass was living good all of that was about to come to a end.

JOSIAH~

"I want everybody involved in the last sales to have their documents in to me by tomorrow morning, Understood" Everyone nodded their heads at me. I was more involved with my company after Ryan's accident he told me to stand down and finishing working on my family which was a reliever so Bri could get off my back a little about the shit I do.

"Meeting over" I sat in my chair at the head of the table and pulled out my phone that was ringing

"Wassup bro"

"Yoo" Ryan spoke into the phone

"How you feelin everything all good"

"Never better but I do have to tell you Im not with Malayah right now we taking a little break or some shit but there is a nigga she been talking to, I want you to run his background for me I know this is a legit business for you so im willing to pay whatever price it is when you find something on him. "

I nodded as if he could see me"Alright I got you, I'll start the process tonight and have my assistant have the file sent to me by the morning, because I know once I get home Im going straight to sleep"

"I don't blame you, man when is the baby shower we all ready to see yall"

"I don't even know Bri so damn frustrating right now, I'm trying to let her pick a date but it seems like i'll have to do it" I looked at my phone and seen she was calling on the other line "This her right now, aye send me what all information you have on dude, his name, city, description, whatever you can get"

"iight bet" I clicked over and Bri immediately started whining

"Josiahhh where are you im lonelyyy and hungryy" she said

I closed my office and nodded at everyone else as I stepped out the building making ym way to my car. "Im on my way home now, What do you want to eat?"

" Umm some greens, macaroni and cheese, yams, and chicken"

I started my car up "Now what store you know sells that, just get it delivered from the soul food place downtown"

She smacked her teeth "Ughh okay hurry home"

"Im five minutes away calm down"

she laughed and hung up

I stopped at the bank and made a deposit, I would've never thought I would be bringing in this much money ever. I was already getting money in college but now I was making my own money being my own boss, it was the best feeling ever. I wired some money into my mom's account and kept it moving.

Once I got home Jr. ran to the door

"Wassup man" he said and I laughed

"You tryna copy me man"

I heard more than one voice coming from the living room

"Bri who you in here talking to, I hope not yourself?"

She smiled as I entered the living room I seen her, my mom and some dude sitting on the couch.

"Wassup ma, who is this?"

"Josiah" she stood up and walked towards me "I want you to meet your father"

I scrunched my face up. "The fuck he doing here?"

"Josiah! that's rude stop it"

I didn't care how rude I was I wasn't trying to hear it " I don't care ma he can get the fuck out"

"Baby calm down" Bri stepped in

"Look let me just go I told you he wouldn't be ready to listen yet Bee" The dude got up and walked towards the door

My mom stood in front of me shaking her head "Im so disappointed, I don't care how mad you are, you know im all about respecting people" she walked off and followed him out the door.

"Im sorry baby I knew you were going to be mad but I couldn't dare say no to letting your mom in"

I sat on the couch next to her and kicked my feet up "Im not even mad at you bri, if you knew my hate for how he did my mother you would be mad too"

she leaned down and kissed me as the door bell rang

"Ding.Donggg must be that food that I ordered" she got up and wobbled to the door. I sat up on the couch and started thinking about the situation even more.

Why was my mom bringing him around again? I hope she don't think he can just come back into our lives.

MALAYAH~

I looked in the mirror for the one hundredth time fixing my dress. I agreed to go on a date with dre and I was nervous as hell as if we didn't already know eachother.

I got a text from dre letting me know he was downstairs I quickly responded 'Okay coming' and looked in the mirror one more time. I applied a little more of my lip stick and left out. As I stood on the elevator my mind rushed with so many thoughts like my first date with Ryan. That was one of the best days of my life, he really knew how to make a girl happy. I smiled as I thought about him but quickly put those thoughts in the back of my mind as I made it to the lobby.

"Hello Ms.Malayah" My doorman said

"Hey robby, you here all night again"

"You know it, hmm you look really fancy let me guess a date?"

"Ouuu you are good" I pointed at him as i went out the front doors. I seen Dre pull up in a matte black new jeep, I swear every time I seen him he was in a new car. He hopped out and came to my side opening the door. I smiled "Ouu such a gentlemen" he closed the door and jogged over to the driver's side. "Mama always taught me to treat every woman with respect starting with opening doors for her" he looked over smiling at me. I melted in my seat because baby that smile was everything.

"Im taking you to this Jamaican spot, it's a friday night so they are having happy hour with live carribean music does that sound good for you"

I nodded "yess It sounds lovely"

The rest of the car ride we talked about what our goals in life were, how I managed being a mom and a working woman, our lives in texas and so much more. Once we arrived he had his car put into valet and we walked into the Jamaican grille. I looked around "Ohh this is so nice, i've been in chicago this long and haven't know about this place"

The host approached us and he gave her his name then she directed us to our reserved table. The vibe was everything, people were mingling some were sitting in front of the live band singing along, others were having fun at the bar.

Once we sat down I looked at the menu and immediately wanted to try to jerk salmon with a side house salad.

"Soo, what made you change your mind about ever going on a date with me"

I cleared my throat. "Umm i guess with me being single right now I finally have the opportunity to be open minded about what I want to do and going out on a date is a starting point so I just felt it would be okay to have this time together"

"I see, how is the new apartment? I see you living large downtown"

I laughed and drank some of my water "It's fun it's close to everything so whenever I want to take the kids somewhere we could walk and we are close to the beach so that's a big plus"

he nodded "I'm sorry I never asked about your kids what are their names"

"Imani and Jayden"

"Nice names I see you got this mommy stuff on lock"

"Well I've always been in the position where I had to take care of myself when I was younger so when I met ryan and he introduced me to Jayden I had a strong connection with him because he reminded me so much of my self and I love him as if I birthed him I give him and Imani the same amount of love"

He gazed into my eyes making me look away

"Im sorry just hearing you talk about your kids and how you love them is good to hear real wife type"

I smiled "Thank you" I looked up and seen Kiara and her friends coming into the restaurant. I guess Dre seen my facial expression change because he looked over at her and back at me.

"You alright?"

"Yeah just irritated it seems like I can never escape some faces I don't want to see"

"You wanna go, we can get the food to go and go chill out somewhere, it's a nice lounge down the street"

I nodded "That fine thanks"

"No problem anything to make you happy"

RYAN~

I woke up earlier than usual today which was weird. I looked over at a Kiara who was sprawled out I wore her ass out last night, nothing new when it comes to me. I got a text from Malayah saying she needed me to come get the kids today so she could get some work done, which was fine with me. To be honest I was only fucking with Kiara right now just for the sex but my heart belonged to Malayah and every chance I got to see her I would take it. I responded and sat my phone on Kiara's night stand. I went into her bathroom and brushed my teeth, Ki finally got up and did the same once she was done she came back to bed and laid her head on my chest. I stared at the ceiling for a while as I let myself think about what am I really doing with my life.

"What's on your mind?" she asked looking up at me

I shook my head still looking up at the ceiling "A lot, my future"

"Hopefully, im apart of it"

I blinked a few times and replied "Yeah you are"

"I seen Malayah yesterday" she said dryly

"Where at?"

she sat up and looked me in my eyes "She was at the jamaican grille me and my friend always go to, she was with her new boyfriend I guess"

I had to play calm but deep down I was mad as hell "What new boyfriend"

"I don't know some dude he was dark skinned, his hair was in braids, can't really describe more"

I nodded I knew it was dre "Well good luck to her"

Ki got on top of me "Well good luck to me too because I scored the perfect man"

I flipped her over and kissed down her body, I pulled off her panties and she spread her legs for me

"Seems like im the luckiest of them all right now"

Later that day I went to go get the kids from Malayah, he condo was nice as hell, it made me think about getting one downtown. She went to go wake Imani up from her nap she could get her ready to go, I took that time to look around her view was nice, most of the house was baby proof so that was good. She came back into the living room with Imani and her bag.

"Okay she's sick so here's some cough medicine ryan follow the directions please she's not supposed to have alot and Jayden is at a friend's house they are having a barbecue I will send the address right now. Ohh and don't forget she is used to sleeping with her bear so please give it to her at night or else she will scream throughout the night and..."

"I get it you act like I never had my kids before"

she kissed Imani on the cheek "Bye baby mommy loves you" she walked with us to the door and held it open as we left out "Ohh and Ryan most importantly, don't bring that bitch around my baby" she rolled her eyes and slammed the door.

Just then I got a message from Josiah. I open it and there was the file everything on Dre. I looked over it and scoffed "Opp ass nigga" I shook my head wired the money to josiah and sent the files to phor.

Imani looked up at me "daddy bad word"

"Im sorry princess"

Malayah don't even know what she's getting her self into.
