LONDON~

After finding a immediate flight Phor and I rushed to the hotel Malayah was staying at. Since it was the only place she felt safe at in the moment.

"I hate these damn beds it's not comfortable like the one at the house"

"I know but it's better to be here than at your house just for a few days. Honestly you can come stay with me and phor instead of this hotel"

"Nah i don't think that's a good idea it's not just me I have Jayden with me and I don't want y'all to feel like we are invading y'all space."

Was she serious.

"I've been living with you and Ryan for how long? Girl you know you are more than welcome to come with us"

"You're right but for tonight I'll be here" she laid on her back and rubbed her stomach "I can't wait till I'm showing"

"Don't rush it pretty soon you won't be able to see anything past your stomach it's sucks I couldn't even shave Phor had to help me do it"

"So he the European wax center now" she laughed

"Yeah yeah you got all of these jokes now.. well we are about to head home I have to get Malachi In the tub and in bed"

"That's fine I'll see y'all later"

After leaving the hotel room I strapped Malachi's car seat in and got in the passenger seat sighing
"Seems like it's never a break

"Alright shit no doubt... you know ima be there man.. iight bye" phor got off the phone

"Who was that"

"Damn must you know but nah that was Ryan he said he get out next month and that They dropped the case apparently Nahmirs mother said she knew who killed him"

"Soo she lying?" I was confused because this sounds like a setup

He kept typing on his phone "Somebody seen me in LA and wants to meet next week to collab"

"So you didn't hear me. Whatever let's grab something to eat and go home I'm tired" he pulled off and I texted Malayah so she could send me her location. I was so worried for my friend but I know she was strong and gets through anything.

"Hello Welcome to Culver's what can I get for you today?"

"Hey can I have the spicy chicken strips and a water bottle.. that's all"

"Okay pull around for you total"

I was deep into my thoughts while texting Malayah and telling her what Ryan told Phor until I heard too much giggling in the background

"Oh my god I haven't seen you in forever, is that your son he's a charmer just like his daddy. I seen you doing your thing with the music now. "

I looked over and cleared my throat
"How much is the food"

"Ohh I'm sorry you know what it's on me today since we go way back"

I glared at Phor and he grab the food "iight I'll get up with you later have a good one"

"You too"

He pulled off and stared straight ahead until he seen me still looking at him

"What I grew up with her"

"So you just grew up with every bitch in Chicago huh?"

"Chill man none of them compare to you so why you tripping"

I looked back at Malachi who was in his car seat trying to grab his toes he was always so busy.

"I'm sorry I'm just not use to everyone knowing my man like that"

"You ain't never had a real nigga like me"

"Boy stop"

2 months later

MALAYAH~

"So we can't do the basic volcano project Jayden it has to be top notch"

"Ughh I don't feel like doing any work"

"All you have to do is write about your project,take pictures, and have a display come on" I grabbed my car keys off the counter "let's go get the rest of the supplies

"Okay but I'm telling you this is child labor" he ran to put his shoes on. Ryan walked into the kitchen and looked in the refrigerator

"Are you cooking dinner tonight or I have to order Uber eats again" I am not his mama

I ignored him and walked to the front door

"MALAYAH!"

"Stop raising your voice I can hear you.. I told you to stop talking to me until you get out the game and I'm deadass so I suggest you open your Uber eats app and get to searching me and Jayden will be having chicken pasta"

"So you just take over everything"

Jayden came back downstairs "I'm ready"

We hopped in my brand new G wagon Ryan surprised me with it in hopes that I wouldn't continue to be mad at him but I'm not a materialistic girl but I definitely appreciate it. Since I left my Benz in Dallas with Josiah so I'll have a car to get around whenever I want to visit.

I let Jayden play music off my phone and he immediately put on DaBaby-walker Texas ranger I must admit it bothered me a lot just to know that Johnathan aka da baby used to be crazy about me and now he is gone. His disrespectful ass made good music though.

After grabbing the school supplies I headed to the grocery store to grab a few things for dinner. I left Jayden go down the ice cream aisle while I called Ryan to see if he wanted anything but his phone kept going to voicemail Jayden came back with four different boxes of ice creams and two sharing size bags of hot chips.

"AHT AHT! Jayden no, you know Ryan not letting you eat all of this"

He tried it occasionally he think he can get away with things just because he is with me. Once we checked out and got back in the car here Jayden goes putting on Blueface I just don't understand why the kids love his music so much. I had him laughing at me as I hit the woah since he thought I was just so old. I pulled up to the house and another car was parked in our driveway I wasn't really scared since Ryan got home Trev stopped sending flowers.

We walked in the door and I seen Trina, Jayden's mother crying on our couch while Ryan was comforting her.

She sniffled and looked up "oh god Jayden baby come here" she held her arms out expecting him to run to her. Instead he stayed by my side and just looked at her

"Come on" he grabbed my hand and pulled me into the kitchen "I don't wanna see her"

"Jayden stop that's still your mom"

"Yeah does a real mom take your phone and let her boyfriend sell it for drugs, does a real mom leave you in the house all day by yourself with people you don't know and doesn't even check to see if I've had anything to eat, does a real mom let her kids go through that, if that's what a real mom do then I don't want one. I rather stay here with you and my dad"

Out of the months I've knew Jayden I've never seen him cry even if Ryan yelled at him he was still energetic and happy but this moment showed me he was serious and meant everything he said. He walked up to and cried I couldn't do anything but hug him sometimes all a kid needs is a hug.

Trina and Ryan came in the kitchen while I started dinner. I was minding my business and still didn't have anything to say to Ryan.

"Hey Malayah I don't want to invade on y'all space but I was just asking Ryan here would I be able to spend the weekend here. I lost my apartment due to some personal things going on and now I just need till Monday I'll be able to go to my sister house by then"

I took in what she just asked me as I poured the chicken and broccoli into the pasta and added the sauce. Then I turned around to face Ryan I didn't want to see her.

"Guest house"

"Yeah you can stay in the guest house" Ryan nodded at her

"And stay out of my way" I made sure to add.
"Jayden dinner is ready" he came running downstairs you would've thought we didn't feed him.

We sat at the table and I texted London everything that went on.

Me: She's staying at the guest house. I don't trust it.
London💛: you want me to come over there?
Me: Nah if she even looks at me wrong I'm beating her ass.
London💛: not with my niece or nephew in you😭😭I'm still coming over regardless

"This is so good Malayah, Jayden told me you could cook"
Her fake ass.

"Hmm thanks" I was tired of sitting right here I got up from the table and clean my plate off. Jayden was right behind me cleaning his plate off and following me into the living room so we could finish his project .

I could still hear their conversation at the table.
" I know I messed up but he doesn't even want to look at me Ryan. You have her around here raising my child like she is his real mother" I waited to see how he was going to respond because as my man he should always be on my side.

"Well she's doing a damn good job better than you ever did" I nodded at his response. He knew better

"Im going to go to bed,can I tell Jayden goodnight"

"Go ahead"
She walked into the living room "Goodnight son" she kissed him on his forehead and he didn't even look her way he continued working on his project

Next morning

I woke up to the smell of breakfast. I looked over to my side and Ryan wasn't there. I showered and did my morning hygiene routine before going downstairs because no one cooks around here unless it's me. There Trina was at my damn stove making breakfast in the skimpiest shorts. She look back "Hey girl I made you a plate" she opened the microwave and scooted a plate towards me. I stared at it and looked back up at her "Nah I'm good"

I heard the front door open and London loud mouth ass walked in "YERRR.. what's that smell who burning shit" she walked in the kitchen and made the ugliest face towards Trina "who the fuck are you"

"Oh hey I'm Jayden's mom"

"His mom, Nah as far as I know Jayden has a dad and a good ass stepmom"

"Yeah I've been getting myself together so I can make up for how bad of a mother I've been"
"Save the sob story, you ready to go?" She looked at me

"Yeah lets go"

"Wait where are you going" Jayden ran up to me

"I have a doctors appointment have to go check on the baby"

"Can I go pleaseeeee" As much as I wanted to tell him yeah I know he needed to spend a little time with his mom.

"You have to stay this time"

"I'm taking you shopping today Jayden come on it will be fun" Trina grabbed her purse.

I looked down at him "go ahead i will be here when y'all are done"

"Fine" They walked out the house I looked over at London who was laughing. She is just like her man they think everything is funny.

"What?"

"Malayah she needs her ass beat for how burnt that bacon was"
