"You got this Clary, you can do it"

Clary spoke to herself as she paced around the living room, ready for the Carstairs family to knock on the institute door. As if she had summoned the thoughts into reality, 3 knocks echo through the institute hallways.

"Jace! Magnus! They're here!" Clary yelled down the hallway, just in case the boys didn't hear the message.

She smoothed down her jeans and opened the door, a smile plastered widely onto her face.     "Hey guys!"

Emma, Jem, Tessa and Jules stood outside the institute door, mimicking the smile on Clary's face.

"Alright," Clary took a deep breath and forced herself to look at them "so you know how we've taken in the little baby, Charlotte?"

"Yes?" Emma responded, eyeing Clary cautiously.

"Well, I don't know how to say this, but, your parents, John and Cordelia, Charlotte is their daughter." Clary said, looking to Jace to make sure he wouldn't leave his spot.

Emma's face fell into a confused, grim looking face. Jem's eyes widened in shock as he turned to look at Tessa.

"B-b-b-ut how? I mean, I'd notice if my mum was pregnant!" Emma exclaimed.

Jules pulled Emma back down by her arm and wrapped his arm around her shoulder in an attempt to calm her down.

"Can you bring her here?" Jem asked.

Magnus smiled quickly and turned around ,walking towards the direction of Charlotte's room. After a few minutes, he walked out with Charlotte in his arms. She was dressed in a frilly yellow dress and sparkly flats. Emma's eyes softened as she saw how innocent and adorable Charlotte was. In that moment, she knew that no matter what happened, she would protect Charlotte with her life.

So I know, I'm a meanie.

But the holidays ended, and I'm back at school (YeY *Hint the sarcasm*)

Anway, I've got a busy term.

I've got a piano exam, a piano concert, 4 exams at school, I'm welcoming next years wave of highschoolers at an after-school assembly and to be honest, I'm terrified.
