Third Person

"Please! I'm begging you, I swear on the angel I'll take her of her, I just need your blessing" Jace paced up and down the hallway of the Australian institute.

"By the Angel , thank you so so so so much! It means so much to me Mrs, yes I deeply apologise for my behaviour that one time, yes I understand why you reacted. Ok, thank you!" Jace grinned from ear to ear as he turned to Izzy and pulled her into a tight hug.

"I'm so excited!" Izzy whisper yelled as she jumped around in circles.

That Night

"Why are we getting so dolled up?" Clary asked as Izzy forced her into a pair of heels.
"We're going to the annual ball held in Idris." Izzy twirled a lock of her hair around her finger and pinned it back.
"Are you girls ready??!" Alec yelled through the door.
Izzy went over and opened the door, coming nose to nose with a desperate looking Alec.
"Simon and Magnus are waiting in the outside , move your butts before the portal closes"
"Where's Jace?" Clary asked , picking up the bottom of her dress so she wouldn't step on it.
"Jace had to go early and help set up, you'll meet him there"                                                                           Clary didn't give a second thought to what the Lightwoods told her.

Meanwhile at the ball

"So you're really doing this aren't you?" Emma asked, fixing a frill on her dress.                                         "I am, I really am" Jace's heart skipped a beat as he thought of his feisty red head.                                  "Emma!" Jules called after Emma , running over to her once he saw her. He came up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, delicately kissing her cheek. He whispered a quick hello and complimented her appearance.   (BTW Emma and Jules are a little older in this fanfic (14-15))      Jace smiled at the two and walked away.

"The Annual Idris ball will now commence"

Jace excused his way through the crowd of people lining up outside. His eyes lit up when he saw his beautiful girlfriend. He made his way over to the gang and pulled Clary into his arms and leaned in to kiss her.

"JACE!" Izzy pushed Jace's face away from Clary's. "It took me 2 hours to do her make-up you're not ruining it before the grand reveal"

Music started to play and everyone grabbed their partners to walk down the red carpet.                     Clary looked up at Jace, who's eyes sparkled with over-excitement.  Jace gave Clary's hip a slight squeeze as they reached the front of the line. He broke off from her the lights dimmed , till everything was drowned in darkness.

When the lights turned on again, Clary was pushed into the middle of the ballroom and Jace stood in the middle of the stage, with a micro phone in his hand.

"Clary, love, I've only known you for a few years. But in those few years, you tore down my stone cold walls that were built so high, high enough to be assured that no one can get in and hurt me. You are the reason I smile so bright, the reason that I wake up in the morning. Without you my life was so grey and dull. Sure, we fight and we disagree, but what matters is that in the end, you're the one I come to when I need comfort, the person I talk to because I want to, because I have to.

Jace's eyes watered as he kneeled down onto one knee and pulled out a small blue box,

"Clarissa Adele Fairchild, you are the most beautiful person I have ever seen. The way your eyes sparkle brings life into my soul, your smile is the most beautiful thing this world has ever seen. And your body makes me want to do unspeakable things to you."

Clary sobbed loudly as Jace opened the box.

"Will you , Clary, be my wife?"

Clary didn't waste a heart beat as she sprinted her way up the stage stairs and threw herself into Jace's arms. Jace slowly put her down and slipped the ring onto her hand.

"WRONG HAND YOU NUGGET!" Magnus yelled from his location on the dance floor.

Clary giggle cried as Jace put the ring onto the right hand and pulled her into a brusingly passionate kiss.

"I love you forever and always" Jace whispered into her ear as she desperately tried to fix her make-up

"Always and forever"

The couple walked down the stairs, hand in hand. A sobbing Isabelle launched herself into Clary's arms.

"I can't stop crying!" Izzy hiccupped and unconsciously put a hand on her growing belly.

Clary laughed as she saw Emma and Jules walk in with an adorable Charlotte, dressed in a red dress exactly like Clary's.

"Congrats Clare, i'm so happy for you" Emma smiled broadly as she handed Charlotte over to Clary.

"Thank you Em"

Charlotte giggled excitedly as she saw the ring on Clary's finger.

"Clare Bear is getting married!" Clary cooed at the baby.

Jocelyn and Luke came into view as Clary , Jace and Charlotte were walking towards the dance floor.

"Clary, honey, before you say anything, i'm sorry for the way I acted, it was extremely un-motherly of me, I was just upset and caught in the moment."

"It's alright Mum, I love you" Clary smiled as she got suffocated by her mum and Luke.

"Clary Come quick!" Izzy shouted.

Clary made her way over to Izzy, shaking her head in confusion.

Izzy grabbed her hand and put it on her swollen belly, just in time for Clary to feel a slight bump in her hand, like something..

"THE BABY KICKED!" Clary squealed in delight.

This was the best night of their lives...
