The Monster and the Willow

Blaze has passed the exam in the simulation chamber. His virtual trip to Domino has given the Trix the opportunity to observe his powers: He has the Dragon's Flame. Little Kiko has to pay the price however, but he manages to save himself, thanks to his laziness.

-

"Flora, why don't you take your hippy-dippy stoner research and go save a different planet?!"

"That's not nice!"

"And up from my nap I get." Y/n left her room to find Stella and Flora arguing, glaring harshly at the other. "Well, if it isn't my two favorite blonde fairies - Flora, I'm counting the streaks. What are y'all going on about this time?"

"Her flower power has gone too far!" Stella insisted.

"I'm just carrying out a couple of experiments. I've got an exam soon!"

"It wasn't too hard," Y/n offered, who had already taken Palladium's exam a week after the malfunction. Flora and Stella had not been so lucky. "Besides, imagine Blaze. He had to fight Icy, Darcy, and Stormy. I would have died! But for you guys, no sweat."

"No sweat?!" Stella demanded. "You should see my room! Your room has become a humongous chemistry lab."

"Y/n gave me permission," Flora informed her. "And what's more, she said she'd help me study."

"But just look!" She dragged her into her bedroom, Flora following to defend herself. "Okay. I gave Flora permission to put her flowers by my windowsill because they need a lot of sunlight. But then she spread herself out and put a bunch of Melanoma Vericosa -"

"Mimosa Vainatosa," she corrected.

"Whatever! I mean, she put them right next to my mirror, Y/n, my mirror!"

"Well, it's normal," Flora explained. "They feed off reflected light; your mirror is huge so it's perfect."

"Burn, Stel."

"Well, you think this is normal?!" She gestured wildly at the plant, trying her clothes and makeup on. "That's my Goblin Govanna! It is my favorite dress ever! You see what's happening here? Oh, my poor, poor clothes!"

In annoyance, Flora tried to explain, "That's why they're called Vainatosas."

"I don't care what they're called! Make them stop right now! My clothes! Oh, Y/n, my beautiful clothes!" She hugged her arm, whimpering into her shoulder.

"Stella. They're just clothes," she tried to argue. "You wear them to go out. Nothing more to it."

"No, they're couture! Do you know what that means?! They're one of a kind! The shoes and makeup are bad enough, but they're also mixing stripes with florals, it's like a horror show! They have no taste whatsoever!"

"Tecna doesn't complain about it." Flora left the room to Tecna and Musa's, only finding Musa studying on her bed, the book elevated by magic. "Hi, Musa. Have you seen Tecna?"

"No. Haven't seen her since this morning," she said without looking up.

She strode to the closet for a few of her things. "Are you guys having any trouble with my plants?"

That got Musa to look up. "Huh? What do you mean? We have plants in our room?"

"Um, yes, I asked Tecna to keep a few seeds in the dark inside her closet." She opened the door, Tecna squirming around in a vine bondage, screaming into the vines. Flora turned to the noise, her mouth falling open. "Tecna?!"

"MMMMMMMM!"

Her magic caused the vines to let go, Tecna shaking her legs off. "Where have you been?!" she yelled as Y/n and Stella joined them. "All I wanted was a jacket and I got kidnapped by this psycho plant!"

Stella looked at Musa, still on the bed reading. "Musa, she was in there all day and you didn't notice a thing?"

"I am not in the habit of snooping in other people's closets."

Tecna continued, "Your plant also happened to eat my notebook. Is there any way to get it back?"

"Uh, get it back? Uh..." She twiddled her fingers, giggling nervously. "No..."

"Whatever the ivy eats is pretty much gone…"

"WHAT?!"

That made Flora cringe back, falling on her knees. She shook her hands desperately, speaking quickly. "I didn't think they would grow so fast! I swear to you, I had no idea!"

"What am I supposed to do, tell the teacher that a plant ate my homework!? Oh yeah, she'll believe that!" She marched over to her bed, where her comb was, and began to brush out her bangs. Y/n sat next to her, trying to calm her down.

"Oh, Tecna, I'm so sorry."

"This plant nonsense has gone too far!" Stella insisted. "This is a dormitory, not a rainforest!"

"I understand." Flora got up and sadly began back to her room. "I'll move out to Black Mud Swamp, and I won't come back until I'm done with my potion."

"What? Flora, you can't just move out," Y/n argued. "You're sixteen. The Black Mus Swamp? There are keekbugs! Not to mention subterranean sludge slugs!" She turned back to the rest of her friends, demanding, "We don't want her to go there, right, girls?"

Nobody said a word, instead looking off in another direction.

"Tell her to stay!"

Instead of waiting, Flora left the room to begin packing. Y/n watched her go, then angrily whipped her head back around to her other friends. "What the hell?! You guys call yourselves her friends and you let her go like that?!"

"Her plants used all my make-up!"

"Not to mention strangling me. And eating all my homework."

"And what the hell is your excuse, Musa?"

"Well...I'm just a little too busy Ricky now to argue...studying and everything..." She clutched the book and brought it close to her chest.

"What's more important, Musa?! Studying or one of your best friends?! Look, I promised Flora I'd help her study! And I intend to keep that promise! She's made a few mistakes, sure, but that doesn't mean she needs to go live in a swamp!" She slammed the door behind her, but found the bedroom empty. Seeing the door open, she ran out, calling Flora's name all the way down the stairs.

-

Flora sat on the grass and opened her bag, smiling as she began to pull out her ingredients. "I still can't believe it. I never thought you would have followed me here. Only true friends would follow me into this swamp."

Stella lifted her pump, covered in mud. "Me, neither..." she grumbled.

"Even you, Blaze. And you weren't even part of the chaos this morning." She looked up at him with grateful eyes, which closed as she giggled.

Blaze was leaning against the tree behind Musa, who sat on a rock. He smiled back at her, nodding. "Hey, what kind of a friend would I be if I left you out here in this gross swamp?"

"Yeah, Flora," Musa agreed. "We couldn't let you come here by yourself."

"Oh, wonderful. I'll need your help to get this ingredient. If you all help me find this magic flower, it won't last long at all." She opened her book and pointed to a page with a purple flower. "See? This is a Cheerful Gladiolus."

"That's a pretty flower. But are you sure it can be found around here?" Stella asked.

"Absolutely. The ecosystem of this swamp is quite diversified."

"What do you need it for, exactly?" Musa asked.

"The essence of the Cheerful Gladiolus is an antidote for the witches' sadness spell," she explained with a laugh.

"Welp. We're your girls, Flor...and guy." Y/n put her arm around Blaze and ruffled his hair, ducking his head to her shoulder.

"Oh, thank you, Y/n. But it's not as easy as that. It's a very skittish flower; it doesn't let itself be picked."

"Don't tell me we're gonna have to coax it into following us of its own free will," Stella groaned. "I've had it with walking plants."

Flora held up a vial with what appeared to be a blueish liquid inside. "Actually, we just have to ask the flower to extend one of its petals and then I'll use a drop of this mixture, one of my inventions, and - check this out." She let a drop slide off a leaf and fall onto the ground, sprouting a new plant. Kiko, seeing this, screamed and ran to Y/n, jumping up her legs in an attempt to get up. She took him and placed him on one of her shoulders. "I can create an infinite number of artificial petals. I call it the Vegal Cloner."

"That's so cool, Flora!" Y/n exclaimed, examining the liquid closer. "Does it work on anything else?"

"As of now, no. Just plants."

Blaze took Kiko off Y/n's shoulders and set him down. Immediately, he began to eat a leaf, chomping from it contentedly. "Kiko, you stay right here, okay? The swamp is not a good place for you to walk about." He made no sign of acknowledgement, but took another huge bite of the leaf.

Leaving, Y/n asked, "Hey, Blaze. How did you manage to get him here, anyway? Squeaker won't go anywhere that doesn't have chrome floors."

He shrugged. "Kiko could not give two damns."

-

"Oh, no!" Stella cried as her foot sank into the thick mud. "Why, oh why do swamps have to be so..."

"Swampy?" Musa finished, clicking her tongue when she took a look at Stella's footwear: her usual green loafers with an orange sun on the toes.

"Your comments are uncalled for, Musa." She took a handkerchief out and began to wipe the bottom of her shoe.

"So is your outfit. For goodness sake, this is a muddy swamp, not a fashion show!"

"What does that have to do with anything? A Winx is always a Winx and in -" Just as she put away the handkerchief, her foot slipped from under her and she went tumbling down.

"Stella!" Y/n pushed the bushes away, finding her by a tree, mud covering her from head to toe. "Are you okay?"

"No, I'm not okay!" She yelled, standing up and brushing the mud off her skirt. "I'm a princess! I shouldn't be subjected to slimy environments and neither should my shoes! If only we'd find these stupid flowers!"

"Hush, quiet!" Flora suddenly whispered, her finger to her lips.

"No, I refuse to be quiet! You said we'd find them -"

She clamped her hand over Stella's mouth, promptly shutting her up in surprise. "Look, Stella." She pointed toward a lilypad. "There, on the water."

Tiny nymphs leaped into the air, a bullfrog watching in confusion, their tiny voices tittering away.

"Wow! They're so beautiful."

"Yes. And so tiny."

Stella forced her jaw open and bit down hard on Flora's hand, making her scream and pull away.

"Stella!" Y/n scolded. By this point, the nymphs were looking at them with big, fearful eyes.

"Oh! Ground walkers! Let's go!"

"Oh, no, no, no! Wait! Wait! Please!" Flora cried, successfully getting them to stop with her gentle aura. "We don't want to hurt you. We're your friends. And we need your help."

-

"What an amazing place!" Flora exclaimed as the nymphs led them through the swamp. "I mean, look at all the flowers! The lilies, and gladioli..." She bent over to smell them. "The water nymphs were right to bring us here. I'm sure we'll be able to find what we're looking for."

Stella seemed fixated on something in the water.

"What's wrong, Stella? Cat got your tongue?" she asked.

But Stella only pointed at first to the water. "Look down there, in the water.
In the water there's a collection of bubbles with nymphs swimming around it."

The Winx bent over for a better look.

"It's a miniature city."

"Fascinating. The water nymphs live in air bubbles under the leaf of a water lily."

A nymph arose out of the water, leaning on the lilypad. "We don't mean to be rude or anything but we have a bit of a problem." She managed to stand on it, legs sprouting from her tail. "See, we can't really invite you into our house, you're kind of big, we have no room."

Another one emerged, adding, "But our queen has expressed a wish to meet you. Follow us."

-

The queen's throne was a leaf on a log, surrounded by foliage. Two maids stood on either side of her while she stayed put on the leaf, gazing out across the swamp at the Winx. "We are very happy to have you here. You see, we don't often receive visitors."

"Thank you for the warm welcome, Your..." Stella trailed off, whispering to Y/n, "Should I call her 'Your Littleness' instead of Your Highness?"

"Where I come from, queens are referred to as 'Your Majesty'."

"You must have had a very long journey. You all look a bit tired. May I offer you some refreshments?"

"Yeah, I'll have a water, if you're getting it?" Y/n requested, only to get a sharp elbow in the side from Flora, who sweetly bent over the nymphs.

"Actually, all we really want is to touch the petal of a Cheerful Gladiolus. May we?"

"Of course you may. I can tell you have a lot of respect for nature." One of the servants had brought over a tiny water glass - a shot glass - filled with purified swamp water to Y/n, who, shrugging, downed it in one sip.

"But it seems almost incredible that nobody's ever met you before," Flora continued.

"We keep a low profile. We know where to hide when we need to. And then if so few creatures ever come around here, there must be a reason."

"Perhaps you've heard of something called The Great Monster of Black Island?" one of the servants, Mitriel, asked.

"Monster?!" Y/n repeated.

"Yes, quite unfortunately," the queen replied. "If you look over that way, right behind the fog bank you'll see an island right in the middle of the swamp. And in a deep underwater cave under the island is where that horrible creature lives." On top of the black island was a lone tree. The scene reminded Y/n of a toxic release. "It's a gigantic evil being which threatens my people daily."

"Why don't you move somewhere else?" Blaze asked.

"Because our survival depends on a plant called Xilith and it can only be found on that island. With great patience and more effort, we're able to make a strong and transparent type of material."

"Because out survival depends on a plant called Xilith and it can only be found on that island. With great patience and more effort we're able to make a strong and transparent type of material."

"That's what we use to manufacture the bubbles in which we live. Without the Xilith we'd have to live above water, where predators await."

"But the Black Island monster makes it very difficult to gather Xilith leaves."

"Every once in a while one of us volunteers to go to the island and try to pick at least one leaf, and this time it was Lusiz's turn.'

At the mention of Lusiz, Mitriel began to sob against the armrest of the throne. The queen put a consoling hand on her head, gently stroking her.

"Why? What's wrong? What happened to Lusiz?" Blaze asked, voice getting smaller.

"She never came back," the written said, still consoling Miteiel. "It's our destiny. We've been living like this for quite some time."

"Not anymore!" Y/n stood up and reached down for Blaze's hand. "We're about to change all that."

-

Y/n let out a battle cry before putting out her arms.
Light blue armbands appeared, followed by tall boots. White and blue energy surrounded her body as she leaned back, her arm out and her face twisted in concentration, and gave her a darker top than hung loosely on her shoulders and a skirt.
Her head jerked up and a blue choker appeared with a diamond in the middle while blue - yet transparent - wings appeared behind her. She jolted back and landed on her feet, her arms held out in front of her as if she were about to shoot an energy beam.

-

Blaze spun in a circle with his hands up, twirling.
He clapped and crossed his hands, arm bands appearing and sleeves coming from his undershirt. With his hands held out, another shirt came in, this one only covering his top and with a yellow pendant on his chest. His pants and boots appeared along with it.
He turned his head and his wings appeared. Straightening, a small crown was placed on his head that matched the pendant. He flew up and landed on his feet, one hand on his hips as his eyes narrowed.

-

Stella jumped around with peace signs, then threw her hands up with a huge smile.
Blue wristbands formed on her arms, followed by long orange boots and a headband that matched the bands. Her clothes were then changed to an orange tube top with one strap and short-shorts while her wings formed behind her.
Her eyes narrowed, then squinted. Letting out a cry, she spun around, her hair pinning itself into twintails with long, dark orange hairbands. She took a few steps back while her wings came into place and placed her hand behind her head, smiling fashionably.

-

Flora tilted her head back as her body fell back, her hair blowing around her head. She crossed her hands above her head in peace signs.
A sparkly pink dress appeared with lighter petals for a skirt, followed by pink heels. A green choker appeared on her neck, followed by a flower on her chest. Instead of wristbands, long petals came onto her arms, the petal being the longer bit in the back.
She gave a small grin and spun around, putting her arms up while green translucent wings clipped to her back in a burst of a flower.

-

Tecna chopped and punched at the air with her arms, then knelt on one knee, arms crossed in peace signs, emitting an energy from them.
Her hands went into a fist, a sleeve appearing on her arm with digital accompaniment. The same happened at her torso, a lavender bodysuit and high-heeled boots appearing, then with her pendant and wings, which were instead bars that wrapped around themselves. Finally, a matching helmet was placed on her head.
She opened her eyes, a glider coming out of the bars and letting her fly back, then dissipating when she landed, her hands on her hips.

-

The tiles under Musa lit up as she stepped on them. She twirled on the dance floor while they twinkled, then crossed her arms with peace signs.
Red boots appeared out of purple pixels. She threw up her hands, a red top with one strap coming in as the boots did with a thin pink cloth in between, covering her stomach.
She kicked her feet up while a music disk spun under her and her wings and a pair of headphones appeared, then stood on one foot, spinning around with the disk.

-

"Did you hear something?" Stella asked hesitantly, her voice rising as she turned back to look over the swamp from the sky.

Tecna stopped mid-flight, looking to where Stella was. "No, I didn't."

"You know, Winx, I was just thinking. The queen said the monster was gigantic but to her we're big, too, so if we average things out, the monster must be a medium-sized creature, right? It makes sense."

"Actually, Stel, you've got a point," Y/n said, but turned around and saw her shadowed. Looking up, are gasped, putting her hand over her mouth. "Oh, my god..."

That got Tecna and Musa to stop and look, gasping, as well.

"What is it? What?" Behind her was a giant water-snake monster that roared, splashing in the water, creating waves. The Winx screamed, trying to get out of the way, lest they get caught in the waves.

It dove back under, the teens' backs to each other. "Maybe - uh - maybe it's gone?" Flora suggested weakly.

"Just stick together. If we do, it can't hurt us," Y/n reasoned, fiercely scanning the area.

It jumped up again, taking Y/n upward while she was not paying attention. Despite everyone else's shouts, it gulped her in one swallow.

"Y/n!"

"It ate her!"

A red aura began to surround Blaze, even seeming to burn in his pupils. He rose up, irises rolling to the back of his head, and put together a huge spell, similar to the one during his midterm, now filled with pure rage. It sunk into the water, a multitude of dead fish rising with it. Without another thought, he dove into the water, even while the Winx yelled for him to come back.

The monster was asleep in his cave, mouth slightly open, revealing Y/n, unconscious and rapidly losing air. He swam into it's mouth, jaws snapping. With his fire, Blaze was able to force the jaws to open, unhinging them. With Y/n in his arms, he swam up to the surface while the cave crumbled around them.

When they rose, Y/n opened her eyes, seeing Blaze looking directly upwards, his jaw set and eyes focused. "Blaze?"

His attention snapped to her, but only for a moment. Finding land, he set her down, the others joining them.

"Blaze!"

"Y/n!"

"You're alive!"

"Since you're alright, let's go get the Xilith," Flora suggested, helping Y/n to her feet.

"I don't see any around here," Blaze told her, standing up. His eyes were back to normal. Despite this, Tecna, Musa, and Stella were still starting at him. "What? What's wrong?"

"Nothing, dear," Flora replied with a soft smile.

"I can put in a systematic search, if that would help," Tecna suggested, trying to change the subject.

"No, I don't think it would come up..." Flora said, voice droning off and eyes half-closed. Immediately after, Stella yawned.

Blaze put his hands on one of the trees and looked up into the leaves. "Flora, do you know what sort of trees these are?"

"I'm not sure, but it..." She struggled to maintain her thoughts, the tree blurring in and out of her vision, trying to stifle a yawn. "It looks like a Red Willow..."

"They smell really nice. Like designer perfume..." Stella liked lulled.

"Ugh, nearly dying is exhausting..." Y/n sighed, nodding off even as she walked.

"It's such a beautiful place...one to take a power nap..." Stella agreed.

"It's way too quiet here," Tecna cut in, looking around. "Hear the birds?"

"Actually, I don't..."

"Exactly. And don't you think that's strange?"

"I miss my duvet so much right now..."

"I detect it. I better analyze its composition." Tecna brought up her analyzer and computers, pressing the buttons and zooming in on the screen. A graph appeared, slowly rising. "No...it can't be...narcolep spray...girls! Blaze!"

"Yes." Stella snuggled against them, slowly drifting off. "And these moss covered rocks are just like comfy pillows...so soft..."

"Stella!" Pushing a button on the side of her helmet, a green filter appeared, allowing her to breathe in regular oxygen. She bent over her, trying to shake her awake. "Don't breathe. Don't breathe! No! Wake up! Stella! Don't close your eyes!"

Stella pushed her away and rolled over to the other side. "Oh yeah, alright...just set the alarm for seven o'clock..." Flora , Blaze, and Musa had fallen asleep a few feet away from them.

"Flora! Musa! Blaze! Oh, no. Wake up! Don't let yourselves fall asleep! Please!"

"Oh, come on, Tecna, we're so tired..."

"Yeah. Leave us alone..."

"Go detect something else for awhile..."

"Tecna...?" came the last voice. She saw Y/n swaying by the trees.

"Y/n!"

"I've never been so tired..." She fell backwards, Tecna just catching her. Her arms were still flailing in front of her ass she tried to gesture. "Look over there, Tecna...at that ugly tree...it's their leader...the spray..."

"Stay awake, Y/n!"

"Look at the sleeping birdies...and that must be Lusiz...see her?"

A yellow nymph was sleeping under the tree, breathing steadily.

"A nap...sounds like a really good idea..."

"Y/n!"

"Sorry, Tecna..."

Tecna lowered her to the ground as she fell asleep. "I'll create an oxygen bubble." She made a giant bubble that was able to cover her and Y/n. "I'll make a little opening...and let the bad air out." The pink fumes left the green oxygen bubble, allowing Y/n to slowly wake up.

"Morning, Tec. I could go for some pancakes."

"Very funny." She helped her up, using all her energy to expand the bubble. "Think you can help me?"

"Hm...I can try." One hand pushed against the bubble, letting it increase. Birds began to wake up and tweet out a high melody. The oxygen finally reached the Winx, who sat up, rubbing their eyes.

"Where am I? What happened?" Musa questioned.

Stella, meanwhile, rolled over, still half-asleep. "Turn off the light, the alarm hasn't gone off yet..." She took a glance at her arm and, seeing a bug, behave to screech. "It's a zit-bug! This thing's gonna give me blemishes!"

"Stella, relax. It's just an innocent little ladybug," Musa insisted while Flora laughed at her. But, not listening, Stella ran across the island, still trying to get it off and yelling, Blaze close behind her to get her to come back.

"No! It's a zit-bug! Disgusting!"

"Stella, wait!"

"It can't be," Tecna whispered to Y/n. "Those live in cold climates. We used to get millions of those things on Zenith."

"Haha. We'll tell her later. For now, keep the bubble up and I'll wake everyone else up."

The bubble pushed past the surrounding area, waking up the nymph, who stretched, glad to be up.

"You're Lusiz, right?" Blaze asked, crouching down.

"Yes, and I know you are. I could never thank you enough for waking me up."

He tilted his head. "But how come you know who we are?"

"All the while I was sleeping I remained in constant telepathic contact with the world around me, so I knew you were coming."

The island shook, nearly tripping the Winx off-balance. "The monster!" Musa cried.

"No, no, it's not what you think," Lusiz explained quickly. "The monster isn't coming here: he's already here."

"Sorry, I don't follow."

"Let me explain: as we speak, we're all standing on top of the monster. As I told you, while I was asleep, I kept a mental contact with this place and that's how I found out the truth. The island is actually a giant sleeping and sleepwalking turtle, all thanks to the Red Willow tree."

"And the monster in the cave is nothing more than the turtle's head getting in and out of its shell!" Blaze exclaimed. Turning to the girls, he asked sheepishly, "I didn't...hurt it, did I?"

"No, only DISLOCATED ITS JAW," Stella yelled, crossing her arms. "Oh. And did I mention scared the shit out of us?"

"I'm sorry! I'll try to heal it, I swear!"

Lusiz looked up at Y/n, who was staring into the water. "You..." she spoke quietly, getting the fairy's attention. "I have an idea, but I'm afraid your magic dome covers only a little section of his enormous shell. You'll heal him, but he'll remain asleep."

"Yes, the protective barrier will vanish when we leave and then things will get back as they were before," Tecna agreed.

The ground began to shake again, starling everyone. The tree was whipping its vines at the bubble.

"What the - watch out!" Tecna reached for Y/n, the closest one to it, while are stood in shock, horrified as the branches came to her. Tecna managed to pull her away, but Blaze was already flying up and shooting at it wordlessly, the vines not talking any damage. Looking down at the roots, he sent a giant fire spell, letting it burn up the insides. Flora cast a light dusting spell to take the essence and let it free to be absorbed into Y/n's fingers.

"We did it!" She grabbed Blaze and Y/n and pulled them into a group hug.

"That was some major flower-power, Flora," Y/n agreed, her arms around her neck.

"And we freed the turtle from the spell." Even when they pulled away, Blaze still had his arm around Y/n.

"The turtle!" Y/n suddenly remembered and ran to the edge of the water, looking in. The turtle had awoken, his mouth still hanging open. Without hesitation, she jumped in.

"Y/n, no!" Blaze reached out, Flora grabbing his arm, lest he jump in after her.

Y/n swam down and put her hand on the turtle's jaw. Something seemed to take over her senses when she did and, with the energy that came from her hand, the turtle was healed. She swam back up and flew to the island-shell, where Blaze rushed over to her. "Y/n! What were you thinking?!"

She looked up, eyes fixated at the sky. "You know what I'm thinking? That this place is so much nicer with the birds singing."

-

"How could we ever thank you enough?" the queen asked when they returned in their civilian clothes. "You brought back our dear Lusiz and freed us from a source of fear and anxiety." The nymph who previously wept over her was now hugging her tightly.

"Oh, by the way," Stella began, "the monster -or should I say the turtle - uh, what's going to happen to it now?"

"Look over there. In the swamp."

The turtle was swimming away, his shell up in the air.

"The turtle is going to be just fine. No one is going to hold a grudge. In this swamp, we believe in fresh starts."

Stella watched it go with a bigger smile than she had come to the swamp with. "I never thought I would say this, but the swamp is really cool."

"But what about you guys?" Y/n asked, crouching down to see all the nymphs. "There's so many of you and you said that the Xilith only grows on the turtle's shell."

"Before it went away, the turtle let us collect as many leaves as we could. We'll be okay for a while. We've tried growing the Xilith on our soil but it doesn't work unfortunately. If it's Mother Nature's will, so be it."

"Hang on." Flora began to rummage through her bag. "Even Mother Nature can use a friendly little boost sometimes. Here." She took out the vial. "The Vegal Cloning potion. Watch this, Your Majesty. One drop is all you'll need." She put a drop on it and the leaves began to multiply.

"Way to go, Flora!"

"Excellent!"

"Stel, Tec, Muse?" Y/n started with a smirk. "Got anything to say to Flora?"

Stella twiddled her fingers before admitting, "I was a witch. Sorry."

Tecna brushed her bangs away, mumbling, "Uh, although conflict occurs regularly in one out of five friendships, I'm, sorry too."

Flora put her arms around them. "Oh, nevermind, girls. From now on I promise to make do with the space that I've got."

The queen stood and spoke up again. "Ladies, gentleman, we could never thank you enough for all that you've done for us. But as a token of our deep gratitude, we'd like to offer you this, Flora." The nymphs came with a large vase and a dark flower in it.

"A Cheerful Gladiolus!" she exclaimed, bending over to take the vase.

"It let itself be picked, just for you. It knows you will treat it well."

"As soon as I get home, I'll put it in the richest soil."

"That's great, Flora. Now you're sure to ace your exam as usual."

"Thanks, Blaze. And tomorrow, it's your turn, isn't it, Stella?"

She suddenly gasped, her eyes widening. "Oh, no!"

-

In the next chapter, it's time for the Miss Magix competition. Will Stella participate?
Mirta discourages Lucy, the witch, from competing, but she will use the Trix's magic spells in order to win. Yet again the party will be ruined, but entertainment is guaranteed.
