Mission at Cloud Tower

Nobody suspected that Prince Sky's invitation was false after his many love letters to Stella, but it was really the Trix. What a disappointment for Stella.
The Winx have had to give in to the witches' demands. Now that Stella's magic ring is in their possession. However, the fairy of the Sun and Moon is safe and the game isn't over yet.

-

"Ring, ring..." Y/n mumbled as she flipped through the book in the library, leaning over it on her elbows. "Ring of Solaria, maybe? Come on, where's that...ring!" She put her finger on the picture of the ring that was Stella's and read the inscription below. "The Sword of Power: Part of the lineal right of the princess of the Sun and the Moon of Solaria."

She closed the book and tucked it under her arm, ready to check it out. "Looks like we've found what we need."

-

She brought the ring back to the dorm room and explained it to everyone, including Blaze this time, sitting on her bed, ending with, "That means it's yours by birthright, right, Stella?"

She tossed her hair and held out her hand. "Of course it does. I could've told you that myself. The sword ring has been in my family, well, forever."

"But that doesn't explain why the Trix want it so bad." She was still reading virtuously, trying to find something in it that might explain it. Blaze leaned over it, trying to help.

"Well, it is an important and valuable object," Flora reminded them.

Stella nodded and added, "The Trix aren't common criminals. There's got to be something else to it."

Blaze pointed suddenly at a paragraph. "Hey, here's something." He took the book and sat next to Y/n. "According to the legend, the sword of Solaria was created a long time ago, nobody remembers when. It was sculpted out of a stone, immersed in the Spring of Light, which still flows today, and is only one of the many gifts offered by the Great Sacred Fire."

Everyone was trapped in a moment of wonder until Stella broke the silence. "Woah! And I thought the history of Solaria was ultra boring! I'm starting to think I should have that ring reappraised!"

That caused everyone to laugh, including Tecna, who stopped as abruptly as she had started. It felt...good. She had never laughed like that before and was a bit embarrassed, although she would not have been opposed to doing it again. "Uh, what's the Sacred Fire, exactly?" she asked, trying to change the subject back.

Still riding high off their last burst of euphoria laughter, Y/n pretended to shift her glasses up/shifted her glasses up and brought her voice down. "Excellent question, Miss Tecna. I'm very pleased you should ask."

"Hey, you sound just like Griselda!" Flora observed, causing another round of laughter.

-

The enchanted universe of the Magical Dimension was created eons ago by the mythical Dragon who sparked the Sacred Fire.

-

After their research, the Winx went outside to their classes, the conversation still fresh.

"Hmm, did the Dragon exist for real or is it simply a mythical symbol?" Flora asked.

Confidently, Tecna suggested, "Well, I think it represents an ideal. You know, the embodiment of good versus evil."

"Yeah, sure, okay. Uh, could you maybe repeat that in English?"

Y/n smacked Blaze on the arm, insisting, "That was perfectly clear. Quit acting smart."

Sensing tension, Musa tried to turn the subject back to the ring. Looking at Stella, she inquired, "Stella, you must know the story."

She looked embarrassed for a moment before admitting, "Uh, well, ancient history is not my strong point..."

"Oh, of course! A princess has different priorities," Flora teased.

Thinking she was serious, she agreed seriously, "Yeah! Shopping, for instance," making everyone else laugh.

Blaze stopped suddenly, his eyes focused on the concrete. Y/n stopped next to him, asking, "Are you okay?"

"Huh?" His head jerked up to look at her, next to him like she always was. "Yeah...but I'd like to know more about this Dragon. I think I'll go back to the library. There are still too many questions left unanswered."

Everyone called out their goodbyes, except for Y/n, who said, "I feel compelled, too. Shall we, then?"

He wanted to refuse. To say that he could handle it on his own. But, if he was being honest, he preferred her to stay with him.

"Alright. Come on, then."

She began to follow, until someone pulled her arm back. She looked and saw Tecna, biting her lip as she tried to speak. "I - I just wanted to apologize...about what happened when we rescued Stella? I know you were just trying to get her back and my reaction was irrational. You did the most logical thing."

She gave her arm a pat, smiling reassuringly. "That's high praise coming from you. I know what you meant, though. I didn't want to give it up."

Tecna nodded, letting go of her arm. She hurried off without saying goodbye, hands on her hips, trying to catch-up to the other girls.

-

"For some reason, I don't think the Dragon is just a legend," he told her in one of the corridors.

"I know you don't. And I believe you." Y/n looked out for the library, but kept talking to him, feeling his eyes on her and suddenly being conscience under them. "Something tells me that there's a Dragon out there. I don't know why, but..."

"Perhaps I can help you."

They jumped, but behind them was only Ms. Faragonda with an ominous smile.

"Oh...Ms. Faragonda."

She motioned down the path they had just come from. "Follow me."

-

"Have a seat."

"Thank you."

Once they were settled in the two chairs, she looked hardly on Y/n, who squirmed around. "Have you had the time to read the letter I gave you?"

"Oh...n - no, we got a little...preoccupied," she explained, glancing at Blaze. The two shared a quiet memory of Darcy as Stella.

"I see..." In her hand, she made it appear in a sparkle of magic. "Now's as good a time as ever with what I'm about to tell you. So please, go on. We'll wait."

Her hand shook as she took it and tore open the letter.

My dearest Y/n,
I do not expect you to remember me. In fact, I shall be quite certain that you do not. However, my dear, I still remember you quite fondly from the time of our youth. My more than sister, be assured that we shall find each other once more in due time. I hasten to meet you at Alfea, though I cannot say when.
I leave now, but do beg you welcome me when we shall meet with smiles and the promise of becoming the great fairy you were always destined to be. And I do hope the family you were left with has treated you kindly.
Your Faithful and Affectionate Servant and Friend,
Sir Jack of the planet formally known as Dyamond

"...Dyamond?"

"You want to know about the Dragon." It seemed as though the subject was being changed, but she walked for Faragonda to continue, knowing her will enough by now to know that it would all connect. "Well, it's quite a long story. In the beginning, there was nothing. And, out of the deep darkness, a dazzling light appeared, it was the Great Dragon. And with his fiery breath, he created a multitude of different worlds, and spread life, light and heat across the universe. Eventually, the Dragon became exhausted and chose to lie down and rest in a place called Domino, its essence becoming one with the planet."

"But Stella says Domino is a cold, dark and unfriendly place," Blaze insisted.

"Now it is." She pushed her glasses up her nose. "But it used to be a happy and prosperous place. Before dark forces attacked Domino and put out the Dragon's Flame once and for all. The Magical Dimension hasn't been the same since."

Y/n hesitantly spoke up, her hand raising slightly. "Excuse me, but...what does that have to do with Dyamond?"

"Because that is where the other Dragon decided to lie."

"Other Dragon? But what does that...have to do with me?"

"I believe 'Jack' would know better than I. But she became the planet Dyamond. She was a mythical being, yes, but from what I know, she had no hand in creating the universe. She was simply another Dragon." She leaned over the desk and asked, "Shall I give him permission into Alfea, then? Perhaps he can tell you more."

Blaze's gaze turned from the headmistress to his best friend. A random guy who wanted to meet her? They had never even heard of Jack before and now he was to come?

But, to his dismay, she replied with a hesitant, "Y...yes. Do you know how long it'll take?"

"I'm not sure. But I'll be sure to write him." Now looking suspiciously at the both of them, she asked, "Tell me. Why are you interested in the Dragon?"

Blaze thought for a moment, but answered, "I don't know, I guess we're just curious. Everything is so new for us here."

"...yes, I can understand that."

"Well, thank you." Y/n got up, followed by Blaze, and they made their way for the door. "We'll leave now."

"Yes, thanks again."

As soon as they were gone, Faragonda took out a sheet of paper and a quill, beginning to write.

Dear Jack, ...

-

"You know, I just wanna get my ring back," Stella insisted in the dormitory. It has been lights-out, so Blaze was absent. But everyone else was huddled in Y/n's and Flora's shared room by the former's bed.

"Not to be a bummer, Stel," Y/n began. "But we do have a quiz tomorrow in spells. Y'know, the one that counts for half our grade?"

"No need to remind me," she groaned, getting up to sit next to her on the bed. Her head fell onto Y/n's shoulder in defeat. "I can't do anything without it."

"I'm sure that isn't true," she tried to reassure, playing with her hair.

"It totally is, though...how will I ever become Queen of Solaria when I'm so. Totally. Useless?" She proceeded to bury her face into her shoulder, moaning in defeat.

"Stella, don't say that! It's just a stepping-stone. I'm sure one day, you won't even need it."

Tecna rolled her eyes. She still could not understand why Stella was always so expressive when it made no logical sense. If you were useless, you were eradicated. That was just how it was on Zenith.

"Well, I think we should be the ones to attack."

Flora put a stop to that immediately. "Tecna, we're not soldiers! How can we overpower Icy, Darcy and Stormy?"

The volume of her voice woke Kiko up with a startle, who, in return, woke Kitty. Unamused and rather annoyed, she batted at him, lifted her puffed tail, and curled up away from him, trying to fall back to sleep.

"We'll take them by surprise, Flora," Y/n suggested. "They won't expect us at their own turf."

Stella lifted her head and pumped her arms up. "Yes! Right into the lions' den!" Her arms went down and her smile dissipated. "But, uh, are you guys really sure that's the right thing to do?"

"Aw, relax," Tecna tried to reason. "Besides, I know where to download a map of the inter-school tunnels."

"Nice. We'll wait until everyone's asleep. No one will ever know we were gone." Y/n squeezed Stella's arm with a confident smirk. "Hey, you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us. That's the power of the Winx Club!"

-

Blaze

It's go time.

Pardon?

Stella's ring?
We're heading to Cloud Tower?

That's a horrible idea.
Count me in.

Cool.
Meet us at the gates at 11:00.
If you don't, I'll make you eat a chicken.

You're never gonna get over that, are you?

Nope.

-

Taking the underground tunnel, they arrived at the entrance of Cloud Tower. Flora shone her flashlight around, multiple sets of stairs in front of them. "Wow, you were right, Y/n. And it's not as scary as I thought it would be."

"I have a feeling it's creepier than it looks..." Blaze mumbled, shrinking behind Y/n. "I guess we'll have to use our magic to find the Trix."

"KNUT!" they heard a loud scream from the distance. Icy. And it sounded like she was leaving. Where you found Icy, you typically found Darcy and Stormy.

"Then again, maybe not."

"KNUUUUT!" Darcy, accompanied by a voice crack.

"You guys ready?" Blaze whispered. They nodded and followed him up the stairs just before Knut came around, careful to stay out of his sight.

-

It was pretty easy to find the Trix's room.

After all, they lived with an ogre.

Musa was the first to catch the horrible smell. She led them to the right room, where it looked like someone had just finished cleaning. Despite this, Musa still held her nose. "Why would they wanna room with him? It totally stinks in here!"

"Let's get busy, Stella's ring could be anywhere around here."

"And you know that the witches could come back anytime soon."

Tecna bent into one of the drawers and pulled out a doll, dangling it around for the girls to see. "Look, they're into voodoo! I wonder who this is...poor girl..."

Y/n pulled away, revolted. "Tecna, don't play with that!"

"You're right." She tossed it aside, declaring, "Voodoo is so junior high."

Stella went into one of the closests, pulling the lid off of a jar. "Did our friend Tecna have a phase?" She groaned and pinched her nose, pulling away from the jar in disgust.

"Look, it's a long story, okay?"

"Stella!" Blaze called by the trash pile. "Look!"

She walked over to him, her eyes sparkling when she saw her ring in the middle of the junk. "Those filthy witches! Why would they keep my beautiful ring here?!"

"Yeah."

"Come to Mommy!" She picked it up and put it on her finger with a sigh of relief. "Oh, my six point one karats of pure magic! Mission accomplished, Winx!"

"So. Can we go now?" Tecna pointed behind her, anxious to leave. She tried to open the door, straining to pull. "Either the lock is broken or there's a safety mechanism."

Blaze opened another door leading to the hallway. "There must be another way out."

But instead, he led them to a door at the end of the hallway, his hand on it. By the way he walked to it, it seemed as though he was in a trance. Y/n tried to pull him off, but he shook off her hand. "There's something behind this door, I can just feel it. It's not a way out, it's something completely different."

"This is not the time to listen to your sixth sense, we've got to get outta here," Tecna insisted with her arms crossed.

"Just a minute. It could be something important." Ignoring his friends' concerns, he pulled the door open, leading to Cloud Tower's archive. Light barely streamed through and books were thrown about everywhere.

"What a strange place!" Flora exclaimed as they all went inside. Are bent over a shelf, dusting off a book to flip through its pages. "This one's about a fairy: Eleanor de la Rochefeu."

Musa was looking distastefully at a cover. "And this one's about a witch named Adagilde. Ugh, and that gives me the goosebumps."

"Can you imagine, Y/n?" Blaze asked as he glanced at one of the books. "The history of every witch and fairy that ever existed, all in here. We never thought up anything like this in our games!"

But she was looking around uncomfortably, noticing the other girls' reluctance, as well. "Blaze, we shouldn't be here."

"Wait, if there's a book about me somewhere in here I could find out more about myself and my powers."

"Blaze, no, I'm getting a bad feeling..."

But he was already ignoring her, talking to himself as he looked. "The book would probably look kind of new. Maybe even have a colored cover." On one of the stands, he saw a book with his name in all capital letters in front of it. "Well, well, well."

"What did you find, Blaze?" Flora asked as everyone rejoined him.

Before he could open it, Tecna put her hand over it. "Maybe you shouldn't read it. Think about it. What if the book contains your future?"

"So? What's the problem?" Stella asked, a few inches behind her. "I'd give my right arm to know about my future, you know."

"What the future has in stored for us is not always pleasant, if I were you, I wouldn't do it. But it's your choice." Tecna removed her hand, showing the cover again.

Once it was gone, Blaze instantly reached out for it. "Hey, I just want to find out about my powers Tecna, nothing more. I just need to know where they come from. Just a quick peek..." It sprouted vines suddenly, wrapping around his arm. He squirmed away, crying out, before the cover turned into an evil face, laughing maniacally at him. "The - the book!"

Y/n took his shoulders, trying to pull him away. "Blaze. Come on. We need to go."

"Yeah, that book doesn't want to be read," Musa agreed, leaning into Y/n to pull her away from the book.

But behind them, the door was gone. Tecna put her hands on the wall, trying to find a logical explanation. "I don't wanna sound like a pessimist but, um...I think we're in trouble."

Y/n ran over, pressing a palm against it. "Shit. Okay, um, let's all just stop and think rationally here...we're trapped, yes, but we have each other?" she tried, only getting annoyed looks from everyone else. "Well, if you can do better, be my guest!"

"Actually, maybe I can." Tecna pulled her back, then put her fingers together, amitting a green energy. "Let's try a little Tecna power." She hit the wall with a beam and smoke came from the area, but it was still held firmly in place.

"Not even a scratch!"

"Now what?"

"Power convergence?" she suggested. "But...only if I can do it with Y/n..." She turned her head away from her, trying to hide her blush behind her bangs.

"Not a problem. We can all do it together. Everyone! Magic Winx!"

-

Y/n let out a battle cry before putting out her arms.
Light blue armbands appeared, followed by tall boots. White and blue energy surrounded her body as she leaned back, her arm out and her face twisted in concentration, and gave her a darker top that hung loosely on her shoulders and a skirt.
Her head jerked up and a blue choker appeared with a diamond in the middle while blue - yet transparent - wings appeared behind her. She jolted back and landed on her feet, her arms held out in front of her as if she were about to shoot an energy beam.

-

Blaze spun in a circle with his hands up, twirling.
He clapped and crossed his hands, arm bands appearing and sleeves coming from his undershirt. With his hands held out, another shirt came in, this one only covering his top and with a yellow pendant on his chest. His pants and boots appeared along with it.
He turned his head and his wings appeared. Straightening, a small crown was placed on his head that matched the pendant. He flew up and landed on his feet, one hand on his hips as his eyes narrowed.

-

Flora tilted her head back as her body fell back, her hair blowing around her head. She crossed her hands above her head in peace signs.
A sparkly pink dress appeared with lighter petals for a skirt, followed by pink heels. A green choker appeared on her neck, followed by a flower on her chest. Instead of wristbands, long petals came onto her arms, the petal being the longer bit in the back.
She gave a small grin and spun around, putting her arms up while green translucent wings clipped to her back in a burst of a flower.

-

Stella jumped around with peace signs, then threw her hands up with a huge smile.
Blue wristbands formed on her arms, followed by long orange boots and a headband that matched the bands. Her clothes were then changed to an orange tube top with one strap and short-shorts while her wings formed behind her.
Her eyes narrowed, then squinted. Letting out a cry, she spun around, her hair pinning itself into twintails with long, dark orange hairbands. She took a few steps back while her wings came into place and placed her hand behind her head, smiling fashionably.

-

The tiles under Musa lit up as she stepped on them. She twirled on the dance floor while they twinkled, then crossed her arms with peace signs.
Red boots appeared out of purple pixels. She threw up her hands, a red top with one strap coming in as the boots did with a thin pink cloth in between, covering her stomach.
She kicked her feet up while a music disk spun under her and her wings and a pair of headphones appeared, then stood on one foot, spinning around with the disk.

-

Tecna chopped and punched at the air with her arms, then knelt on one knee, arms crossed in peace signs, emitting an energy from them.
Her hands went into a fist, a sleeve appearing on her arm with digital accompaniment. The same happened at her torso, a lavender bodysuit and high-heeled boots appearing, then with her pendant and wings, which were instead bars that wrapped around themselves. Finally, a matching helmet was placed on her head.
She opened her eyes, a glider coming out of the bars and letting her fly back, then dissipating when she landed, her hands on her hips.

-

"Everybody ready? All together. Now!" Blaze cried and they all shot out their energy at the wall, successfully breaking a hole through it. They ran through, bent over at the end of the hall to catch their breath.

"There doesn't seem to be a way out of this place," Flora managed to get out between breaths.

Tecna looked around, analyzing the situation quickly. "We've never been through this tunnel, it's not the one we came from."

"How can you tell?" Stella asked, her hands still on her knees. "They all look the same!"

"I have a photographic memory, I notice details."

"So we're not lost?" Y/n asked hopefully, trying to tell the difference between the hallway from the others.

"Maybe not."

Giant spiders crawled around the corner, surrounding the Winx. Musa was the first to act in disgust and fear. "Giant spiders!"

Y/n took her by the shoulders to pull her back, trying to bring some form of comfort. "I - it's only a few of them."

"But they're everywhere!" Blaze shrieked.

"And disgusting!" Musa added, hugging onto her friend, her arms thrown around her neck. "And they don't look too friendly!"

They watched as they crawled up the wall and ceiling, surrounding them. "We have to create a protective shield like a force field," Blaze stated. Everyone got down on one knee and put out their hands, burning each spider as they hit it, watching them fall to the ground, until one was able to break through. "Oh no! They've made a breach in our barrier! We've got to do something. Quick!"

"Well, I've got an idea." Flora winked and began to flutter her wings. "Ready? Follow me!" Going upward, the others followed in her suit, the world deteriorating. "Back in Linphea, when we have to get rid of bugs we use their natural enemies. Here you go! A beautiful spider eater!" She created what was supposed to be an ant eater, but this particular type would eat any bug it could find. With its long, slimy tongue, it licked one of the ground and swallowed it whole, chasing after the ones that attempted to escape.

"That's one of the grossest and coolest things I've ever seen," Y/n stated bluntly. Even Musa was in a gross awe.

"And it works!" Stella added joyfully, watching the spiders scatter and get crushed before the spider eater disappeared.

"It's not toxic like bug spray." Flora was unable to hide a hint of pride in her voice, along with a small grin. "It's safer than fire and it's all environmentally sound!"

With only a glance, Blaze was able to cut her off, her smile fading. "Blaze? What's wrong?"

"Sorry, Flora, but...something tells me we're not out of the woods yet."

Y/n raised an eyebrow, trying to shake some sense into him...literally by the shoulders. "Quit being so negative! We'll be fine!"

"I agree with Y/n." Stella flipped her pigtails, turning on her heel. "We simply dealt with the problem efficiently."

While her eyes were closed in laughter, the mud and grotesque muck began to shape itself into a monster with multiple eyes, raising up above Stella.

"Stella, not to rain on your parade but maybe it's time to go!"

When she saw the monster, she screamed, bolting with the others down the hallway, the monster at their heels, making them see it more efficient to fly. Musa flew backwards so that she could face Y/n. "I heard if one of those things slimes you, you can't get the smell off for a week. Even if you use magical shampoo."

"Don't you even!" Stella warned, but proceeded to lead them to a dead-end.

"I can't get slimed!" Stella screeched. "This outfit is couture!" Even though it was magical, so she could not change it or wash it, even if she wanted to.

If Y/n could crawl up into a ball on the floor, she would have. But instead, she shook Stella's hand, simply saying, "Well. It was nice knowing you."

"Don't say that!" She pulled her hand away, face twisted in fear. "Just tell us what to do!"

"...........fight?" she suggested obviously, shrugging with her palms facing up.

"Ugh...I guess that's the only way...ready, Winx?" Stella called to them and they got together, putting their hands in a pose to warn the monster of what was about to happen.

When it came jumping out, Blaze called, "Strike!" Everyone shot at once, trapping it in a shell and making it disappear.

Tecna threw herself into the door in front of them, not wanting a repeat of earlier and just wanting to get out and get back to school. She just wanted sleep...

"Where are we?" Musa asked as the fairies stepped in.

Stella looked around, offering up, "I've heard of rooms like this but I never thought they really existed. Witches are very messy creatures. Instead of organizing their library, cataloging their stuff, they just chuck everything away like that." She gestured to the room, where everything had been thrown around.

Musa suddenly screamed, crying out, "A bake-o-monster! It looks just like a spider!"

Y/n jumped over and aimed her hands as the ground, freezing it over, along with the bug. "Crystalize!"

But Stella had already jumped forward, yelling, "SUN SHOWEEEER!" With her blast, the room lit up, fire everywhere.

"Stella!" Musa yelled. "Y/n had it!"

She cringed away from the fire, shrieking. "And maybe I should've let her! We're gonna roast!"

"Yeah, thanks a lot."

"Blaze!" Y/n grabbed his shoulder as Flora and Tecna began to cough. "You're a fire fairy! Do something!"

But all he did was look at the flames, letting them dance in his pupils, contrasting his blue eyes.

'This is all my fault...they're all here because of me...if only, I hadn't touch that book, none of this would be happening.'

"Blaze..."

His eyes shot up to look ahead, straining to see if anyone was there.

"Come, Blaze..."

Now in a trance, he began to follow, bringing himself out of Y/n's grasp. "Blaze? Blaze, don't!" She tried to run after him, but Stella held her back, trying to keep at least one friend safe.

"Come with me...follow me..."

Y/n managed to pull away, running after him. "Do not go in that fire! Blaze!"

"I...will lead you...to safety..."

The flames parted to reveal what looked like a portal. When he put his hand on it, it opened, leading them to a slide.

"Blaze!" Y/n hugged him from behind. "What were you thinking?! Did you even know that was there?!"

"Huh?" Her hug not only got him out of his trance, but sent a sudden warmth that started around his waist and spread throughout. His face turned red as he looked back at her. "Y/n? What just happened?"

Stella rushed over with the other girls behind her, putting her hand on his shoulder. "Never mind, we'll discuss this later. For now, let's get outta here! You and Y/n go first."

They jumped in, the rest of the Winx following them, as well as the fire, that came closest to Flora, who cried out when she felt the burning heat against her skin.

They all fell out, Tecna landing ass-first on Y/n, squashing her, and Flora tumbling out on top of them both.

-

Detransformed, the Winx entered Alfea by sunrise, trying to quietly sneak back to their rooms before anyone else woke up.

"Phew, I can't wait to get some rest!" Flora exclaimed softly. "All I wanna do is light a joint." Her mascara had been smeared under her eyes, emphasizing her bags.

Blaze on the other hand, felt worse-off than Flora looked. He had been glaring at Y/n the entire time and it finally came out in his discomfort with her foggy head and short temper, although his temper was usually short. "What were you thinking?!" he shouted. Everyone stopped, gawking back at him as he smacked Y/n on the shoulder. "You can't just follow me into fire!"

Her eyes narrowed. A black crevese formed in between her eyes, skin scrunched. She, too, was exhausted from the night before. "You don't want me to follow you into fire then don't run into fire."

Before either of them could claw the other's eyes out, Flora mediated in between them, holding out her hands, letting her hoop bracelets dangle. "It's okay, honey. Tell you what, I'll share that joint."

Her face relaxed as she stifled a yawn. "Thanks, Flora. I don't think I'll be able to make it to school," Y/n agreed.

Due to not wearing any makeup and her hair not being able to mess up from her pigtails, Musa looked more put-together than Flora, although her face still drooped. Still, she was able to smile through her exhaustion. "You can say that again! Time to cash in a sick day. Although I think I'll be having nightmares about spiders the whole time!"

Their laughter was cut off by a loud clearing of the throat, Ms. Griselda's stern expression and arms folded in the office doorway. "It seems Miss Shay's yells alarmed me. Perfect timing, too, I was just about to fetch you six. Obviously, you enjoy breaking the rules. You are in big trouble, young fairies!"

-

This time in the headmistress' office, the atmosphere was tense. The Winx tried to look at anything else but her or Ms. Griselda. Y/n found herself looking at a stack of letters, wondering if any of them were from Jack.

"This morning, I received a message from Professor Griffin, the headwitchress at Cloud Tower. My colleague was furious! She tells me that you broke into her school last night. Is that true?"

Instead of answering, everyone's head bowed. Y/n noticed a light coating of tears in Blaze's eyes.

"I won't tolerate this kind of behavior in my institution! Now, what have you got to say for yourselves?"

"We're really -" Blaze tried to apologize, but Ms. Griselda quickly cut him off, raising her voice above his.

"Ma'am, if I may? Whatever their reason is for doing what they did, their punishment should be exemplary."

"What do you mean?"

"Seeing that these students went out without permission, I suggest they be grounded and their magic powers revoked until such date as you deem adequate."

The hand went over the mouth. The tears began to spill.

"Blaze, it's okay." Y/n took his hand, but he pulled it away and shook his head, trying to leave the group to the window. Griselda watched to make sure he did not leave, letting it go when he stopped.

Stella tried to communicate silently that nobody was mad at him, but his back was still turned and body overcome by his sobs. Strangely enough, Y/n could feel it and met Stella's eyes, both of them biting their lips. The sun and moon fairy nervously looked over at Faragonda, asking meekly, "But, ma'am, you wouldn't really do that, would you?"

"Wouldn't I?! There are very few things I wouldn't do!" Her voice was raised to a yell and energy came from her hands, dragging Blaze back over, forcing him to face his friends. "And revoking your powers is not one of them!"

The Winx began to lift, their bodies contorting as the magic was sucked right out of them. It was not painful, but also an experience they would later not look back on too fondly.

-

"I think we should just lay down and veg out for a while," Stella suggested. She was sprawled on her bed, her hands behind her head.

"Maybe if you hadn't challenged Faragonda, she would've gone easier on us." Flora lit her joint, earning a glare from Stella.

"Stink up your own room!" She threw a pillow at her, Flora instinctively pulling the joint away. [Not even kidding, they STINK. I was doing my dad a favor and cleaning the Tupperware he keeps his pot brownies in and it was the worst experience of my life.]

"Do you want to cause another fire?!" she demanded, but put it out to appease her friend. "Either way, we can't do any homework without our powers. We'll be so behind!"

"And what about our network privileges?" Tecna asked, leaning against the wall. "What am I supposed to do without the realm wide web?!"

Musa, on the swivel chair at the desk, leaned over the back. "I was almost finished this off-the-hook spell to hit the perfect high note!"

"Guys!" Y/n viciously gestured at Blaze, who was leaning on the window. The girls shares worried looks as she got up from the bed and walked over to him, past Musa, who had boredly begun to spin herself around.

"You know, I wish you'd stop blaming yourself." She put her hand on his shoulder, making him look at her. "We were all there, so we're all to blame."

He looked back to the window. "I know for us it isn't so bad. We've lived our whole lives without powers. But them..." He stopped, got up from the window, and turned around. "We've got to get them back! This is the only way we can solve this mystery! I know how we can regain our powers."

"Not just that, but did you think that maybe the Trix will find us? We won't be able to defend ourselves." Glaring back at them, she added, "So let's not think of such frivolous things." Noticing she made them ask uncomfortable, she let herself smile and bring her voice back up. "We just say the word. Right, girls?" She looked at them, everyone simultaneously putting their hands up in fists.

"Winx!"
