Honor Above All
Blaze has returned to Cloud Tower with Y/n and Brenda to find the book that contains his history. However, Riven has told the Trix, who mislead Blaze with false information, as well as casting a spell over him. He's so upset, that he's about to leave the magic dimension. Only the intervention of the Winx and Mirta resolves the situation, but at a high price.
-
"Come on, class, don't think like that," Wizgiz tried to urge to calm the class down, holding his hands up. "It's just a little quiz."
"Yes, but it's a little pop quiz and I just think it's not fair," Stella argued, the class murmuring in agreement.
"Yes, the quiz is on things you should've been reviewin' for some time already."
"You teachers always use that excuse to give us tons of homework."
"Your class isn't the only one we've got to study for, you know."
Wizgiz got his bag and cleared his throat, obviously nervous. "Anyway, since there will be a quiz tomorrow, I strongly recommend that you review what we talked about today." He left then, leaving the students to worry.
"I'll never be able to get everything done."
"No kidding. No way I can go over it all."
"Tell me about it, I've got a big exam tomorrow in horror studies."
"What's that noise?"
Blaze had fallen asleep on his desk, his head on his paper. Flora had to get up to shake him awake. "Blaze? Blaze."
He got up, rubbing his eyes, realizing everyone was staring at him, snickering. "Are you laughing at me?"
Musa put a hand mirror in his face to show that ink was all over his cheek. Laughing, he wiped it off, although the increased noise alerted Griselda. "Can someone tell me what is so hilarious? As, someone's been using their desk as a bed. Blaze, follow me to the principal's office."
-
Mirta please just let me apologize and I'll leave you alone.
Mirta please
I'm getting worried
Damn now I'm spamming your dms huh
Sorry about that. Just let me know you're not dead. Please.
-
"Muuuusaaaa ~" Y/n sang over the girl who had her face in her notebook. "Which class are you using to practice love potions with?"
"Potionology," she answered.
"It looks...pretty intense, huh?"
"Yeah."
"Almost like dark magic."
She sunk her head lower. "We're not expected to use it. Just to know it."
"But why know it if you won't use it?"
"Dunno. Now go study so you don't fail tomorrow's test."
A bunch of green smoke flooded the room. Muss tried to wave it away with her book, the girls running out to see Flora, Stella, and Tecna over Mirta. "What happened out here?"
"Flora tried to change Mirta back," Stella explained.
"And it didn't work," Tecna added blankly, getting a glare from Flora.
"What kind of fairy are you anyway, Flora?" Musa asked, walking over to Mirra to examine her. "You can't even bring Mirta back from her pumpkin state."
"And you can't even tell a pumpkin from a carrot!" Unexpected venom came from her voice, eyes flickering with an unfamiliar emotion to Flora.
Y/n stepped between them before a brawl could break out. "Hey, let's sing showtunes, okay?"
Kiko tried to take a bite of Mirta, who grabbed him with her vines in protest. He giggled at her while Squeaker hissed from the closet.
"Knock knock it's a boy," Blaze said as he entered.
"Hey, bro," Y/n said, dapping him up. "Listen, think you know if a counter-spell to help Mirta?"
"No, but I've got something even better." He waved around an envelope, announcing, "The answers to tomorrow's pop quiz!"
"WHAT?!"
-
"Guys, we can't just spend our time looking at it," Y/n said you the Winx, all staring intently at the envelope.
"I did so poorly on Palladium's exam that I really can't afford to flunk this one," Stella moaned.
"You should've studied instead of worrying about that dumb pageant," she pointed out.
"Well, I think fate is lending me a hand. Not with my hands, just with my thoughts." A light beamed down on the envelope and it began to shake.
"Uh, Stella, don't even think about it," Tecna spoke up. "If you look into the envelopes for the answers to the quiz, that's cheating."
"I know, but it would help me raise my grade average."
"If you were to cheat to get a good mark, you wouldn't feel good about it," Flora warned.
"Says who? I won't know until I try."
Musa pointed at Blaze to lecture him. "I think it would have been better if you'd left the envelope where it was. The temptation to open it is almost too much."
He shrugged, not able to do much with it now. "Yeah, you're right, I know. So what do you think we should do with it?"
They thought for a moment until Stella snapped her fingers, suggesting, "Okay, I've got it! What we'll do is we'll only read the questions. That way it's not cheating!"
"Oh, come on, Stella! How is reading the questions not cheating?" Flora demanded, rolling her eyes.
"What do you mean how is it not cheating?!"
"Well, for one thing, it's an unfair advantage."
Musa stood up. "Forget this. I'm hitting the books." She yawned, stretching, then added, "Then the hay."
"Someone's beat you to it, Musa." Tecna gestured at Blaze, who had fallen asleep in the chair.
"Great. He'll get us all in trouble," Y/n huffed, but covered him with a blanket.
-
"Come, Blaze...come!"
Blaze looked around in the narrow hallway, trying to find the voice. "Who are you? Where are you?"
"Come to me, Blaze. Blaze!"
"I'm coming, but where are you?!" He ran into the light at the end of the hallway, making him shield his eyes.
"Blaze..."
-
"Blaze!" Griselda yelled in his face. He began to wake up, feeling his gut drop. "Blaze, the principal wants to see you."
"Crap...Ms. Griselda, I'm sorry, I fell asleep please don't punish the Winx -"
"Nevermind that," she said, waving her hand. "We'll discuss that later. Now come along."
Nervously, he got up to follow.
-
Blaze shut the door to Ms. Faragonda's office, barely stepping inside. "You wanted to see me?"
"Oh, yes, Blaze. Have a seat." She turned away from the window and sat down in front of Blaze, who was trying everything not to blurt out his apologies and swears that he would give the answers back to Wizgiz. "The Advisory Committee members have just held a very special meeting."
"The Advisory Committee?!" He leaned forward, swearing that he could feel his heart stop. "But I swear I didn't even look into the envelope!"
Faragonda drew back, brow crinkled in confusion. "What envelope?"
"Envelope? Did I say...envelope?" he asked innocently.
"Are you feeling well, Blaze?"
"Oh, yes, I'm just a little...tired." He turned his feet in, swallowing. "What did you want to speak to me about?"
"Well, Blaze, it's time you found out a bit more about your past. That voice you hear night after night belongs to Daphne, one of the historical Nymphs of Magix."
"Daphne..."
"She was the guardian of the Dragon's Flame, the power that gave birth to the Magical Dimension. Legend has it that she lives in the depths of Lake Roccaluce. Follow me, I'll take you on a special journey of discovery, the discovery of your past."
She projected for Blaze the bottom of the lake, the feeling of water wet on his skin and causing his hair to flow. He watched the oxygen bubbles rush to the surface to burst and let the air rush up while the water would run down what used to be as cum after the climax. "Wow..." A fish swam through his chest, not heeding his presence.
While Faragonda took confident strides through the sand, Blaze ran, his sandals clumsy against the moving ground. That stopped in front of a cave, where Faragonda let him lead. "It's okay, Blaze, don't be afraid."
He walked to the blinding light, where a woman appeared in front of him, holding a chest out. She opened the lid, revealing a crown. Blaze was able to see the glowing holes where her eyes should have been, covered by a mask, before she and the illusion of the lake disappeared.
-
"Did you get expelled?"
"Do I need to punt a bitch?"
"How did they find out about the envelope?"
"You didn't rat us all out, did you?"
" 'Cause we didn't do anything. They know that, right?!"
Laughing, Blaze said, "Relax, they don't know anything."
"Nothing, huh? So why did they want to talk to you?" Stella asked.
"By all accounts, Faragonda had more to say about my behavior in class this morning."
"Why? What happened?" Y/n asked. "I was in the bathroom."
Musa rolled her eyes. "He just fell asleep. It was no biggie."
"No kidding," he agreed. "And now we've got another problem: what to do with Wizgiz's envelope."
"What to you mean by that?" Y/n asked and took the envelope, stuffing out into one of her books. "I'll give it back tomorrow. Until then, hit the books, ladies."
-
Flora put aside one notebook and swapped it out for another. "Sweetie? How's everything going?" She looked behind her, finding Y/n rubbing Squeaker's head. "Y/n?"
"Nothing, Flora, I'm just thinking."
"I bet it's about Blaze," she said and went back to her book.
"Well...yeah. Since that night at Cloud Tower, all he's thought about was Brenda."
"I'm sure it's nothing," she said, not sounding so sure.
"Or what if he's seen me as a friend for so long that the possibility of us dating hasn't crossed his mind?"
She giggled, closed her book, and sat next to her, letting her head rest on her lap as she rubbed it. "Maybe you should try talking directly to him."
"And ruin years of friendship? I...I couldn't."
"Sure you could." She gave her her phone. "Call him and see if he can talk."
Y/n sucked in a breath, but pressed the contact, letting it ring a few times.
"Hey, it's Blaze. Leave a message! Oh, and if this is Y/n, I want twenty bucks."
That last part only made her suddenly start crying, something that seemed to keep happening these days. Flora took the phone and quietly turned it off, knowing that the voicemail would just be her wails. "Maybe we should go shopping for a bit," she suggested. "Then to a library to study better."
-

He frowned. Why had she not put a heart?
-
After lights-out, Blaze crept out of his room, careful not to wake Sūn up, and walked to the girls' side of the campus. Finding the Winx's dorm, he let himself in and into Y/n and Flora's room, shaking the former awake. She rolled over, meeting his bright eyes in the darkness. "Blaze, the alarm didn't go off yet..."
"Nevermind the alarm. I had a missed call from you?"
The pillow went over her head. "Why couldn't you just text me...?"
"Because your voicemail was sobbing!" He whispered this part as to not wake Flora, but put enough force behind it. Still not getting an answer, he ripped the pillow off her head. "C'mon. We're going for a walk."
-
Walking at night in your pajamas is some of the best fun you could have, although this time, Blaze was wearing a shirt. They sat in the courtyard for a few minutes, not saying anything, until Blaze looked at her. Feeling his gaze, she looked back. "What?"
"You gonna tell me what's wrong?"
"No."
"Y/n..."
"Look, really. It was nothing. I misdialed."
"You were still crying."
"I chipped a nail!" she blurted out, then immediately started laughing. "Good god, that's the best I can come up with?"
But he still looked at her with a seriousness that bore into her soul. "Y/n?"
"Blaze?"
He opened his arms, drawing a few inches closer. "Come here."
Hesitantly, she let him hug her, collapsing into his arms, trying her best not to start crying again and ultimately failing. He sat there with her a few moments, stroking her hair under the moonlight. "We don't have to talk right now, okay?"
She nodded, but said nothing.
"Tell me when you're ready. Deal?"
"Yeah..." she agreed, then sat up. "Back to bed?"
"Good idea. We've still got that test tomorrow." He reached a hand out to pull her up. "Did you study?"
"Sorta..."
-
"This is your stop," Blaze said as he walked her inside, flicking the light on. They found the other four fairies strewn across the room, faces in shock at them entering.
Laughing, he said, "You should see the look on your faces!"
Y/n waved her hands and the textbook appeared. "Looking for this?"
Seeing that they were going about this for nothing, everyone began to laugh along with them.
-
Y/n tucked the book in the bedside table. "There. Now, is anyone tries, Squeaker is a pretty light sleeper and she'll find you."
"It's not that I want to cheat," Stella whined. "I just don't want to repeat the year again."
"Huh, who knows, maybe third time will be the charm," Musa suggested, giggling.
"Very funny." Stella yawned, stretched, and got up to go to her room.
Everyone else left, leaving Y/n and Flora to get under their blankets. Flora propped herself on her hand. "Y/n? I don't mean to be nosy, but what were you doing up with Blaze?"
"Shhh..." She rolled over to go to sleep.
"Aww. Goodnight, then, Y/n."
-
"GOOD GOD!"
"Tecna?" Y/n looked over her shoulder into Wizgiz's classroom. "What's wrong?"
"Hey, why'd you stop?" Flora asked.
The Alfea students had all had some kind of black dirt on their faces.
"What happened?" Musa asked.
Y/n sat at her desk. "I didn't know it was National Pig Day."
"Shut up!" Amaryl yelled at her, but her attention was drawn by Stella strutting by, laughing down at her.
"You know, I always knew I was the prettier out of us two, but this just solidifies it."
"Urrrrrgh!" she growled, her hands on the sides of her desk.
Earendel reached across, his hand on her bicep. "Let it go, Amy."
"Stella, please sit down," Wizgiz urged. "Don't poke the bear...even if we can see the bear's guilt plain as day." He sat on his desk. "Now. I'll explain everything."
"Wait, Professor?" Y/n spoke up, taking the envelope out of her bag. "Blaze found this yesterday and brought it back. We thought that maybe you had lost it and wanted to return it."
"Thank you," he said, taking it. "Actually it is mine. And now, I'd like to open it in front of all of you." When he held it up, the other students cringed back. "What's the matter with you? It's just an envelope. Why are you so afraid? Oh I bet I know. It must be all those frayed nerves from staying up late and studying." Everyone kept cowering in their seats away from it except the Winx, who were watching them like they were crazy people. "I don't understand why you're all so nervous." He opened the envelope and sparks flew out. "Very well. Now that we're finished our quiz, we can go ahead with our lesson."
"What?!" Amaryl demanded, standing up, pushing out of her chair against the desk. "That was the quiz?!
"Clearly, it was. You all found one of my envelopes near your dorm rooms and you all thought it contained the answers to the quiz. Well, the results are now for us all to see, so judge for yourselves whether you passed the quiz or not. Those who couldn't resist the temptation to open the envelope are wearing the consequences." He called the Winx up, nodding in approval as they came. "I'm so proud of you. You all deserve the highest mark, A+."
"Yes! I passed the quiz!" Stella threw Wizhiz up on the air. "Thanks, Mr. Wizgiz!" She failed to catch him, getting gasps, but he stood, relatively unharmed.
"Well, you've learned that the path to becoming a good fairy, is a long one. But you're all still young and you all possess the capacity to learn the importance of being honest and of resisting the temptation or easy-way-outs. Being a fairy is a role that carries great responsibility."
-
Late at night, the Trix conjured a dark spell with their charms, making a triangle that exploded, making them fall back. A gremlin let himself crawl up their wall and out the window, heading for Alfea.
-
In the next chapter, a terrible creature lives on the fears and nightmares of the Winx. They will have a sleepless night.
The Trix will take advantage of the fairies' weakness to seize Blaze's powers. This is a difficult moment for the six friends.
It is open warfare between the fairies and the witches.
