Sexuality?

I'm heterosexual biromantic (romantically attracted to both genders and sexually attracted to the opposite gender) and proud!

Gender?

Cisgender female

How long have you been aware of that?

I've always identified as a cisgender girl, and I discovered the actual term for my sexuality this year through one of my close friends. I became aware that I was heterosexual biromantic about three years ago, when I was twelve.

Any preferences?

I prefer men over women since I want a full marriage and don't feel any physical attraction towards women.

Positive memory about coming out?

The first person I came out to was my friend Emma, and she was really awesome! She told me the actual term for my sexuality and helped me come out to several of my other close friends.

How do you feel about pride month?

I love it! <3

Do you participate in pride events?

I would, but my parents aren't that supportive and if they found out I would get into a lot of trouble (although, I am considering changing my profile picture to the biromantic bride flag).

How do you feel about the representation of LGBTQ+ in the media?

I think it's awesome! Everyone is learning to accept us for who we are because of them!

Supportive idols in self discovery?

Don't really have any supportive idols, but one of my biggest male role models in high school has a similar sexuality to me (he's just biromantic), so I look up to him a lot since he isn't afraid to be himself.

Tell us about your first crush.

Well....he was a guy that is now a senior, and I don't have feelings for him anymore. I still think he is the handsomest, sweetest, and most talented person I have ever met. Meeting him set off the chain of events that lead me to becoming passionate about acting and music. He now has a wonderful girlfriend, a lot of scholarships, and a boatload of performances under his belt.

Any advice for LGBTQ+ teens?

Just be you! Don't force yourself to come out to people; wait until you are ready and confident in yourself. Never feel ashamed for who you are and take pride in whatever you identify as. I believe in you! <3

Have you come out?

Yes, to most of my friends and a youth leader at my church (she was really cool about it, too! :D).

How do you feel about the term "coming out"?

Honestly, it seems almost poetic to me. Some people don't like it, but I do.

Do you believe there is a closet to come out of?

Metaphorically speaking, yes.

Tips on coming out?

Don't come out until you're ready, and don't feel pressured to come out to everyone. Tell people you trust, and then continue on to tell people you may feel more nervous to tell.

Biggest pet peeve when it comes to LGBTQ+ characterization in the media?

When they portray gay men and women acting like the opposite gender just because they're gay.

Favorite part of LGBTQ+ characterization in the media?

I don't really know... I just like the fact that it's there in general.

Absolute turn off for the opposite/same gender?

Girls: Being rude and snotty is a no go for me.

Guys: Same rules apply. I also hate it when guys never take other people into consideration and it's all about them.

Absolute turn on for the opposite/same gender?

Girls: Being sweet, kind, funny, and interested in the arts

Guys: Not being afraid to hug/cuddle with other guys and think it's really gay, a sweet personality, honesty, and nice eyes.

How do you feel about the term "queer"?

I don't see it as an offensive term if people don't use it as one. It basically just means that someone is different, and being different is something everyone should be proud of.

How does your country view the LGBTQ+ community?

Same-sex marriage is legal here in America, but not many people support it still.

Favorite LGBTQ+ actor/actress?

Jonathan Groff

Tips for heterosexual/cisgender people on how to handle LGBTQ+ events/news?

Just don't be jerks. Try to accept people for who they are, even if you don't support what they do. If you can't do that, just don't be rude.

Most annoying questions you've ever gotten?

"Does your sexuality even exist?"

"So...That means you're straight?"

"How do you think God feels about you now?"

How do you feel about receiving questions about sexuality/gender?

I'm cool with it! I'd be happy to answer questions just as long as they have no malicious intent.
