Chapter 14: Family Division

A/N
Hi! I'm sorry for late, but I had a few really important things in school (next week too, oof), but I really wanted to write this! I know that it is a really short chapter, but HEY! We are approaching the end of the book.  I want a shorter chapter and better focus on different threads, which gives more reading(this chapter is an experiment) ! And I'm working on your requests and new covers for books! Have a nice day!

"Okay Huey, what should we finally do?"
Louie asked in a slightly ironic tone.  He spread even more on his bed and leaned his head against the wall.  He seemed completely relaxed, but there was nervousness in his eyes. He took his hands out of his pocket and crossed them, looking away from the door.
"I can't believe I got caught up in it! If it wasn't for you and your stupid fun, there would be no problem!"

Huey suddenly and unexpectedly exploded, gesturing widely.  His eyes were furious and very stern, even for him.
Louie couldn't look him in the eye, but the more his brother blamed him for what had happened, the more the wave of rage flooded in him.

"You didn't have to get involved, Egghead! You also wanted to tease Dewey! Why is I always blamed for everything ?!"
Louie interrupted Huey's speech and approached him, as angry as he was.  Both brothers could no longer stand the atmosphere of the residence and the great guilt.  Everything seemed to be a good reason to argue.

After Louie's words, Huey's face turned strangely red.  It was obvious that he could not control himself anymore.  Someone could even see the thin streaks of steam from his furious head.

"Why ?! Maybe because you are responsible for most of our problems ?! You are like: 'hey, look the money and treasures! Why do I need my family and my life if I have TREASURES'! You started laughing at Dewey and you know it well  ! I unnecessarily joined you! "

He raised his head above and pointed to the door.

"Do me a favor and leave. I have to clean up your mess."

He said in a much calmer tone and froze in that position.  Louie stood staring at his older brother in disbelief.

All his anger vanished immediately, and in its place came sorrow and sadness.  He also felt much more guilty, as if Huey had blamed him on what was bothering him.  The young duck felt tears welling up in his eyes.  He quickly glanced through the room.  Everything seemed gray, meaningless.

His eyes followed Huey's finger.

Only the door retained its color.

Without a word, he walked slowly toward the door.  As he grabbed the door handle, he looked over his shoulder.  Huey crossed his arms over his chest and turned to the window.
When the door closed behind Louie, Huey seemed to suddenly come to his senses.  At that moment, the meaning of the words spoken to his brother reached him.

He looked at himself in horror in a large mirror that stood in the room partly covered by a piece of old material.  Instead of himself, as he expected, he saw a monster in duck skin.

He remembered the argument between Dewey and Webby.

  It was identical.
