Chapter 13: Entire Life
Webby was walking down the hallway of the mansion when she heard someone buzzing about in the kitchen. She raised her head and went to the door. They were slightly ajar, so she looked inside easily and saw that her grandmother, Ms Beakly, was cleaning the kitchen. Webby stood at the door for a moment, wondering whether to go in and talk to her grandmother about what was bothering her when she heard a voice.
"Come in Webby, you won't disturb" She said in a cheerful tone, still standing with her back to her granddaughter, and after a short moment she turned around and greeted her with a warm smile.
The young duck felt emboldened and smiled back at the kitchen. She walked quickly to her grandmother and hugged her with all her strength.
"Hi, Grandma! I thought that if you are here, maybe I will sit with you a little and help you!"
She said, then with a little forced smile grabbed the first sponge on the edge.
Of course, she was glad that she was spending time with her grandmother, that she was still bothered by this one thing. She tried not to think about it for the time being, but she knew she had to talk to Dewey in the end.
Recalling this, she began nervously wiping the slightly dirty kitchen cabinet countertop. The dirt went down very easily, but Webby was still cleaning the same place as if it was the dirtiest place in the world.
Beakly watched her silently while washing the sideboard windows. She watched her every move. She had sensed it before but now she was 100% satisfied. Something that happened between her granddaughter and Dewey was much more serious than she thought.
Over the past few days, Webby has lost her enthusiasm for virtually everything and tried to hide it. Everyone, however, noticed the sadness in her joyful eyes. These involuntary sighs, wander aimlessly around the house.
Scrooge might not have seen it all, but she, Bentina Beakly, Webby's grandmother had seen it all too well.
She saw it also in Dewey, but he didn't look like he wanted to talk to his friend's grandmother, whom he might have hurt. She wasn't mad at him. It's just a child who makes mistakes. She also committed them, but admitting it is not the easiest thing to do.
She just wanted to start wiping the upper cabinets when she saw that for a few minutes, Webby was still scrubbing the same place, which is now probably the cleanest in the whole house. She was overwhelmed with concern for her granddaughter and felt sorry for her. She must talk to her. Even if she doesn't want it. She must, otherwise what is strangling in her will torment her completely. She put a protective hand on Webby's shoulder.
Webby seemed to wake up suddenly from deep thoughts and returned to reality. She noticed immediately that she was wiping one place all the time, so she quickly put down the sponge and looked embarrassed at her grandmother.
Ms Beakly gave her a worried smile.
"Webby tell me what's bothering you. I see something going on."
Webby looked slightly surprised, but after a moment she remembered that grandma couldn't be fooled so easily. She sighed sadly and tried to look into her grandmother's eyes. It wasn't as easy as before, but she did it. She decided that she would tell her what had happened to grandma. For a moment she felt determined, but when she opened her beak, her eyes immediately became all wet, and after a while tears began to run down her cheeks.
She felt anger at herself that she easily vented her emotions and wiped her eyes with tears in a quick movement. She looked at her grandmother and saw in her eyes the same feeling that had accompanied her over the last few days. She couldn't describe this, but she knew that she saw the same thing in her grandmother's eyes.
"Webby...I know...that Dewey probably hurt you...but do you want this tal to destroy you from the inside? You are still children. You can't let even a serious quarrel destroy what connects you... "
Beakly knelt at Webby and now put both hands on her shoulders. She wanted to give her as much support as possible.
"I want to help you. But you have to tell me what happened." Ms Beakly moved her shaky granddaughter closer and hugged her. Webby was quite brave. She wasn't crying anymore.
After a moment, Webby stepped away from her grandmother and stood confidently in front of her. However, it was evident that there were great emotions in her.
"You know how much friendship with Huey, Dewey and Louie means to me...especially with Dewey. I get along best with him! At least...I thought so. By accident I heard him talk to his brothers...and I heard him say that...I mean nothing to him. That our friendship means nothing to him...and from that moment everything was lost..."
Webby said everything in one go, then lowered her head. She didn't see why, but she felt a little easier. As if grandma took a huge boulder from her. The great emotions that she strangled for a few moments were ordinary now. Such that everyone feels.
Only sadness became a bit more pronounced. By the memory of that day. Grandma looked at her without any definite expression on her face. Webby tried to guess what she was thinking now, but she couldn't. Probably no one could. Her grandmother was once the best agent.
After a short while Ms Beakly started.
"Have you heard the whole conversation or just part of it?"
Webby immediately raised her head, not knowing what Grandma meant.
"The part I told you about ..."
She said uncertainly. Beakly nodded.
"Did Dewey try to explain to you? Did you let him?"
Webby immediately felt an involuntary blush of shame.
"N-no ... I didn't talk to him about it ... I didn't want to."
Beakly stood up squatting and, looking straight into Webby's eyes, put both hands on her hips. She stood there for a few seconds, during which Webby managed to get a little nervous.
"Webby. I know you feel hurt. After all, he's your best friend. But you have to talk to him ... explain everything. Otherwise you will never find out why he said that what happened. For your own peace. Otherwise it will never stop bother you."
Webby looked at her grandmother with more surprise than before. How could she be so stupid and not think about it before? She took care of how she felt, and did not think of such an obvious thing as an explanation. At first she was so angry that she wouldn't listen to Dewey's explanation. But then, when she calmed down, she could hear him instead of pushing him away! She felt great shame and anger at herself.
"I should have done it ... thank you grandma. I'll talk to him."
She smiled slightly at her grandmother and squeezed her again and ran out of the kitchen. Ms Beakly watched her leave the door open behind her. She smiled.

Webby walked quickly through the corridors of the mansion looking for Dewey. Gradually, however, she slowed down and her determination was replaced by nervousness and burning shame again.
She couldn't look in the mirror now.
Although she felt hurt at the beginning, it was becoming clear to her that she had also hurt Dewey.
And that was the worst feeling she had ever felt.
Thinking about it, she did not notice how one of the side doors opened. The figure coming out of them walked quickly looking ahead. Webby noticed her too late, and bumped into her with all her might. Both ducks were now on the corridor floor.
Webby got up quickly and began to apologize when she saw who she had fallen over.
Della Duck!
"Della Duck? But...I thought you were very sick? Sorry about that..."
Webby shook her hand and helped her up. The adult duck just brushed off her clothes and smiled brightly at Webby.
"Come on, it's nothing! Everyone happens!"
She laughed.
"I was sick, it's true. But the disease just left me overnight. Nothing can stop Della Duck, right?" She winked at her.
Webby accepted her optimism and smiled a little shyly. Della looked around. Nobody was around. She descended a bit, so that only Webby could hear her.
"I wanted to show myself to the boys, but I also wanted to talk to you."
She said in a more serious but still cheerful tone. Webby felt surprised for the third time that day, but also a bit embarrassed.
"With me? Why?"
She had dreamed of it ever since Della Duck returned to Earth, but she was too weak to do anything.
She felt growing excitement in her heart.
"Yes. It's...a rather delicate topic..." She added more quietly.
"Maybe it will be better when we enter the room."
She pointed to the door from which she came out. She smiled comfortingly at Webby and entered the room, waiting for a young duck at the door.
Webby, slightly dazed, followed Della and closed the door behind her.
The room she entered was bright now, thanks to the sunbeam. Last time she was here, it was very dark through the curtains. It was a completely different place now.
Della waved her hand at the wooden upholstered chair and sat down on the other one.
She still had a smile on her face.
This differed only in that this was concerned. This reminded Webby of her grandmother's smile.
Webby sat down in the chair and waited for Della to speak. This, however, wandered around the walls and furniture.
Finally she sighed.
"Maybe I'm not the right person to talk about it, but ... I feel I need to talk to you about it. I'll tell you right away. Dewey was here and told me what happened. At least, he didn't ask me of that I would talk to you and convince you to forgive him. This is my own initiative. I know that you don't talk to him and you are angry with what he did to you. I understand you. But...I want you to know that he he regrets so much. When he came here...I just saw after him that it is difficult for him. I know that I do not beat around the bush, but I wanted you to just know it. "
Della, apparently nervous and a little uncertain, finally looked at Webby.
She was sitting a bit confused and nervous, just like Della.
She didn't say a word for a few long moments.
"I just spend my entire lode without anh friends...and now when I have Huey, Dewey and Louie...I just hurts.
But it wasn't just his fault...I hurt him too. I didn't let him explain why he did it. I really want to talk to him about it now. Even more. Thank you for telling me that!"
Webby jumped off the seat and hugged Della. Slightly surprised, she returned the hug.
"I want...everything to be fine. Especially with you."
She smiled at Webby. She did it too. Webby ran to the door with new energy in her eyes, soul and heart. She waved Della and left the room.
The young duck raised her head high and went even ahead of her determination, imagining her conversation with Dewey and how everything would be as it was.
She just wanted to turn into the second corridor when she collided with someone again.
Heads this time.
She wiped a painful place on her forehead for a moment and recovered.
After a short moment, she opened her eyes to see who she had collided with again.
At the same moment she felt paralyzed.
It was Dewey.
A/N
Hi! As you wanted! Webby and Della/Beakly.
For any mistakes I want to apologize!
