Chapter 11: Forgiveness

Webby leaned her back against the closed door, then slid down on them and sat on the floor. She stared at the torn paper lying on the floor, which was a remnant of the envelope.

Next to her were a book, a badge and a card that had been inside of the book. Webby hardly restrained her emotions. She was all shaky and tried to calm down.

At that moment, she couldn't forgive herself how she treated Dewey.

She didn't believe him.

One unfortunate situation might have crossed their entire relationship because she preferred to be proud rather than to talk about it.

Especially that Dewey is her best friend.

She sat there for a moment and looked around the room. Her eyes rested on the pin she gave him. She reached for her, and in the meantime she looked at the diary Dewey had given her.

She took both things in her hands and hugged them. Webby felt a wet trickle of tears on her cheeks.

She wiped them quickly and got up just as quickly. She knew she needed to find Dewey and explain everything to him.

And then, of course, teach a lesson to Huey and Louie.

She squeezed both things even harder and opened the door.

The duck sighed deeply and followed Dewey in the hope that he would forgive her too.

This word.

Forgiveness.

It can sound so beautiful and sad.
