Chapter 9
3rd Person:
"AGH! FRICK, I SAID SORRY! I'M SOR—AHHH!"
Felix's heart had stopped once he realized that Chan had managed to slip inside the dorm before he had a chance to lock him outside. Of course, he had attempted escaping out the door, but Chan was quicker this time, and had grabbed his arm and threw him on his bed.
He wasn't sure what to do. He couldn't actually kill him (even though he was more than ready to do so), so he resorted to the next most torturous thing:
Tickling.
"You never know when to stop, do you?" Chan asked while attacking Felix's stomach.
"ARGH—CHAN! I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY!" The younger pleaded in English.
"You're. Excused." Chan growled as he moved to Felix's ribs.
"NOO!" Felix screamed with the volume on his accent turned all the way up. "THEN STOP!! YOU SAID I WAS—AH! YOU SAID I WAS EXCUSED!"
"I changed my mind," Chan said. He continued to mercilessly tickle Felix, who was screaming, pleading, and laughing all at the same time.
"You run fast, you little shithead, I'll give you that."
Felix laughed in response.
Chan was breathing extremely hard as well because Felix made him run at top speed. It was when tears started forming in Felix's eyes Chan decided to stop.
He got up from the bed and watched as Felix struggled to catch his breath. He laid on Chan's bed with his eyes closed, chest heaving.
"You know what?" Chan asked.
Felix looked at Chan but didn't say anything. He couldn't say anything. The older of the two went towards his bag and unzipped it. He pulled out a laptop and set it on his desk, which was right next to the bed.
"You said let's make a song about love. Fine. Let's make a song about love."
All Chan got in response was a blink.
"Get up," Chan sighed.
Felix slowly sat upright, then swung his legs over the edge of the bed.
As he stood up and took a few steps forward, his legs gave out from all the thrashing around and he tripped with a yelp.
Right into Chan's arms.
Felix wasn't sure what to do. He wanted to back away, tell Chan it was an accident, but his legs were frozen in place. They refused to work at the worst possible times, and apparently so did Chan's, because he didn't move either. They didn't even blink.
Almost ten seconds had passed, enough for both of them to regain their senses. Chan shoved Felix off, but unfortunately, Felix was pushed a little too hard, and he was sent stumbling backward.
Felix gasped and shut his eyes, waiting for his head to collide with the cold, hard ground (eVeRyThInG I nEeD iS oN tHe GrOuNd..... Sorry), only for Chan to grab him by the waist and yank him back towards his chest again, while Felix's arms naturally wrapped around the elder's neck.
What the hell is happening? Felix thought as they both widened their eyes.
Chan had barely looked at Felix for more than a minute ever since they met, so he was genuinely surprised to notice little brown freckles scattered against Felix's skin.
Thank God he was fully conscious this time because the latter managed to untangle himself from Chan as fast as he could and mumbled apologies at the floor about a billion times.
All the while, Chan rubbed his forehead using his fingers with an exasperated sigh.
He motioned to the two chairs at his desk and said, "Just sit down."
Felix complied without uttering a single word. If this was what it would take to get Felix to shut up, Chan would have a problem on his hands.
Chan opened up some tools on his computer as Felix fiddled with his thumbs, replaying the events that occurred over the last two minutes over and over in his head. Chan then took out a piece of paper and scrawled something on it with a pen.
He slides the paper and pen towards Felix and turned to his computer.
"What is this?" Felix asked.
"Continue from there," Chan replied.
Felix glanced at the words. "You don't understand, I'm not ever like this....." he read out loud. "Are these lyrics?" When Chan nodded, he continued.
"I can hold my breath say I'll be alright... Wait this sounds sad though."
"Congratulations Sherlock. Now keep writing."
"No. We're doing a happy one. Plus, you're the one who said I could help you on the tr–"
In one swift movement, Chan applied pressure to Felix's ribs with his fingers, which made the boy screech.
"CHAN!"
Felix tried stopping him by grabbing his hands, but Chan ended up grabbing his instead.
"Listen to me," Chan said, tightening his grip. "I've just about had enough. Every time you antagonize me or say no to me without reason, you will be tickled. Hard. Do you understand?"
Chan snarled out the last part, and Felix frantically nodded.
Chan released Felix's arms and pointed to the pen and paper.
"Continue."
"How many lines should I try and write?" Felix asked after a moment of silence.
Chan thought for a moment and answered, "You said you were bad at writing lyrics, right? So just write two or more lines. We'll see where that goes."
Felix breathed a sigh of relief and attempted to write sad words that made some sort of sense when put together.
When Chan had finished gathering up all necessary materials for making a song, he grabbed the piece of paper without asking Felix. This resulted in a glare being thrown at him, but he couldn't care less.
"Let's see what you have."
"I don't know if that's good or not, give me a couple more minutes—"
"Be quiet."
Felix opened his mouth to say something that was undoubtedly rude but closed it after remembering the state of his ribs.
After a couple of minutes of staring at the piece of paper, Chan exhaled and gave a nod in Felix's direction.
"This is fine."
Felix couldn't tell if that was good or not, but it was the closest thing to a compliment that he had ever received from Chan.
The older man wrote some of his own lyrics and waved at Felix.
"You can go now."
"...what? We started, like, ten minutes ago."
"I'm aware. I'll just make a layout of the track on my computer, so you won't be missing much. And I've never been able to get you to work with me for more than five minutes, so this is progress."
Felix let out a 'hmph' and put a hand on the table to support his weight as he slowly pushed himself up from his chair.
Chan raised a brow at him and asked, "Why are you acting like an old man?"
As Felix walked away, he mumbled just loud enough so that Chan could hear.
"You didn't have to tickle me so hard."
And if Felix had turned around, he could have noticed the slightest smile tugging at Chan's lips.
