3rd Person:

"There you guys are," Jisung said.

He was sitting on the front steps in front of their dorm room.

"You're still here?" Felix asked.

"You guys didn't even bother to close the door. So you're welcome for being your guard dog!" Jisung yelled the last sentence at Chan, who had brushed past him into the house just a moment before.

"Rude," Jisung grumbled.

Felix laughed and Jisung stood up.

"Alright, I was just checking in. And I'm not even gonna ask what just happened. Bye Lix."

Felix waved and headed into the house himself, locking the door behind him. He went to the kitchen to get a drink of water and bumped into Chan on the way, who was there for the same reason.

Chan tried walking to the left, but Felix walked to the right, ultimately bumping into each other again. Then they both tried the opposite direction, and Chan put both hands on Felix's shoulders to hold him in place and walked around him.

Once they settled down into their chairs, Felix began drafting more lyrics while Chan clicked away at his mouse.

And just like that, after a couple breaks, more hours had passed, and Felix had a yawn count of about 20. He looked at Chan, who still had his eyes fully open. Was he even blinking?

"Are you not tired?"

"My sleep schedule is basically custom designed by a 3-year-old," Chan replied.

"Is that why you always look so tired in the morning? I mean, more than everyone else?"

Chan nodded once. "I have insomnia."

"...oh."

"Yeah. It's hard to fall asleep, and it's hard to stay asleep once I have."

"That's rough buddy."

"Buddy...?"

Felix pretended to cry. "It was a reference. You really haven't watched Avatar?"

Chan shook his head as a no. "You're acting like it's a crime."

Felix threw his hands in the air. "You know, it should be! It's a classic."

"Whatever you say."

Felix got up and stretched with another yawn.

"'Kay, it's late," Felix said, assuming that Chan would take the hint.

When Chan didn't even get up, Felix raised a brow.

"You aren't going to sleep?"

"Insomnia, remember?"

"Ohh."

Felix wasn't sure how insomnia worked, so he just left Chan's room quietly and slipped into his own bed.

Felix groaned.

Judging by how heavy his eyelids felt, he guessed that the time would be about 3:00 AM. He tried his best to reach over to the nightstand and grab his phone.

He was greeted with his wallpaper: Team Avatar. He smiled at his phone as his eyes drifted to the time.

It read 3:26.

Felix plopped his head back onto the pillow when a warm yellow light from the hallway caught his eye. He stood up, confused as to why Chan left the light on and fell asleep. As he entered the elder's room, he was extremely surprised to see Chan still sitting in his chair and working on his laptop.

"Chan?"

The said man jumped in his chair and whipped around.

"Huh? Felix? You aren't asleep yet?"

Felix stared at Chan in disbelief. "You haven't gone to sleep yet?"

"Insomnia, remember?"

Felix shook his head.

"No."

Chan titled his head in confusion.

"What?"

"Nonononono. Are you out of your mind?"

Felix strode over to Chan's desk and turned the computer towards him. He saved all of Chan's work and closed the device, making Chan protest.

"Felix!"

"I saved all of your work. What time do you think it is?"

"1:00 is not that late–"

"It's almost fricking 4:00 AM."

Chan blinked at Felix, startled at how wrong he was.

Chan tried to defend himself. "I wasn't feeling that tired–"

"Shut up. How could you feel tired if you were staring at a screen for like, 5 hours?"

Felix rubbed his eyes.

"This is literally not okay."

He pulled the covers off the bed and awkwardly pushed Chan onto it. He flipped the switch on the lamp and before he left the room, he turned around.

"If you even think about getting up from the bed, I'll be extra annoying tomorrow."

Chan immediately pulled the covers over himself, which made Felix laugh.

"Night."

"...night."

That night, as Chan tossed and turned, only one question ran through his mind.

Why did he even care?
