Previously on Chapter 7

Kamado and Hashibira grabs each of his hands, pulling him onboard. I let out a sigh of relief as I place my hand on the railing. Thank goodness... we made it.

-Demon On The Train-

Y/N P.O.V

We make our way inside the train, trying to look for a certain Flame Hashira. I wonder which carriage he could be. We make our way through the carriage. But so far, we can't seem to find the Flame Hashira.

"Delicious!!" A voice yelled out, making me jump at the sudden sound. I turn my head to look at the boys to see them looking just as confused. I let out a sigh and walk forward. That voice sounded awfully familiar. I think it's the voice of Rengoku.

We make our way towards the carriage. Kamado slides the door open. "Delicious!" He said again, making me jump at the voice. Everyone else are also staring at the guy. I let out a sigh and make my way towards him.

"Rengoku-San..." I said. He turns to look at me while saying the same thing again. I let out a sigh and nod my head. "Yeah yeah... we got that the first few times. You don't need to say it repetitively" I said. I turn my head to the side and notices the worker stuffing empty bento boxes into a bag. Did Rengoku ate all of that... all by himself??

Rengoku let out a laugh as he place the empty bento box down. I take a seat on the seat across from him, I choose the seat near the window. I turn to look at Kamado. I raise an eyebrow at him when I realize he's only standing there like a statue.

"What are you waiting for, Kamado? Sit down..." I said. He walks towards me and take a seat next to me. I turn my head to look outside. The sun is still up. The demon wouldn't attack until the sun set. We have time to relax and prepare ourselves for a battle.

Kamado and Rengoku starts to share a conversation while I just stay silent. Kamado is asking him about a technique. He said the name is Hinokami Kagura. Apparently during his last battle in the mountain, he used that technique to fight of a spider demon.

I hear footsteps coming closer towards us. I turn my head to see it's the conductor. I take out my ticket and hand it to him, so he can punch a hole. I furrow my eyebrow as I stare at the conductor. He's awfully pale. What's wrong with him? He's probably just tired from having to work all day. Yeah, that's probably it.

I start to feel sleepy. I yawn softly and turn my head to the side, placing my head on Kamado's shoulder. Why did I suddenly feel so sleepy? I try to fight it and keep my eyes open. But it's too heavy to keep them open. So I just close my eyes and slowly drift off to sleep.

Tanjiro P.O.V

I feel a weight on my shoulder. I turn my head to see it's L/N-San sleeping with her head on my shoulder. I just smile softly at the sight of her. She seem really tired. I cover my mouth as I yawn softly. I start to feel really sleepy, so I place my head on top L/N-San's head and drift off to sleep.

3rd P.O.V

Everyone inside the train ended up being sound asleep. Y/N's eyes begin to twitch a little as she seem to be having a dream.

Dream

Y/N looks around the area. She feels confused. She starts to question how could she be there and not inside the train. She looks around the area, familiarity spreads through her chest at the scenery surrounding her.

"Y/N?" Someone called out behind her. Y/N slowly turns around. Her eyes widened as a shaky gasp escapes her lips. Tears starts clouding her eyes as she stares at the figure in front of her.

"M-Mama..." she stuttered out. She chokes out a sob as she runs towards her mom. She wraps her arms around her torso, hugging her tightly as she begins to cry while clinging onto her mother.

"Oh, Y/N.. did you have a nightmare?" Her mother said, while running her hand through the girl's hair. Y/N just keeps on crying while hugging her. She misses her mom more than anything.

Y/N's mother take her back to their house. She's sitting across from her mother as she prepares some food with the hotpot. Y/N just stares at the stream coming from the stew. She just stare at her mother as she pours some of the stew onto the bowl.

"Here you go, sweetie..." she said, offering the bowl to Y/N. Y/N outstretched her hands and gently grab the bowl from her mother. She place the bowl on her lap as she just stares at it. "Is there something wrong, honey? Don't you feel hungry?" She asked.

Y/N turn her head to look at her mother to see her staring at her worriedly. "What is it, sweetie?" She asked. Y/N just shakes her head and begin to sip on the stew. She let out a hum at the flavor.

"It's delicious, mama... I'm so glad that I'm only a half-demon. Otherwise, I would have missed this delicious food" she said. Her mother let out a soft giggle. She lift her hand and gently runs her hand through Y/N's hair. Y/N closes her eyes, enjoying the feeling of her mother's hand.

Y/N scoots closer to her side, leaning her body against her mother's who wraps her arms around her. Y/N close her eyes, enjoying the feeling of her mother's arms around her.

I know that this is only a dream... but even just for a short while, I want to stay here. Even if it's not forever, I want to stay here with mama... Y/N thought to herself as she tighten her arms around her mother's torso.

"Are you sure everything is alright, honey?" Her mother asked. Y/N hums softly and nods her head. She buries her face deeper into her mother's chest. Tears starts to stream down her cheeks, wishing that this is all a reality. That the reality is actually the dream she just woke up from.

End of Dream

Y/N who's still asleep with her head leaning against Tanjiro's shoulder. Tears are streaming down her cheeks as she dreams about her mother. "Mama..." she said, in a hushed voice. Her voice cracks as she keeps calling out for her mom. That's how much she misses her mother.
