Previously on Chapter 48

He always seem to notice every small details. Even the slightest changes on me. I mean, it makes sense since he have a sharp sense of smell. Even so, it makes me feel so loved. I'm so lucky to have him as my boyfriend.

-In Need Of Comfort-

Y/N P.O.V

After I managed to create a new Breathing Technique. I have been spending most of my time trying to perfect the techniques I've came up with. Now, I've able to use 11 forms of this technique.

I drop on the ground and breathe heavily from exhaustion. I lay on my back as I stare at the sky. It's been months since I revived as an ordinary human. I was devastated when I couldn't do much as a human. That was until I managed to create my own breathing technique. Now I can finally see myself in the new light, with a new title as the Cyrokinesis Hashira.

"You should rest, Y/N..." I hear someone said. I turn my head to see Tanjiro. He have a towel in his hand as he make his way towards me. He take a seat on the ground. He gently lift my head with one hand, gently placing it on his lap. I just close my eyes as he gently wipe the sweats from my head. "You've improved so much, Y/N... I'm so proud of you" he said.

I open my eyes to look at him to see him smiling at me. I just give him a tired smile. "Thank you, Tanjiro... your support is what makes me able to keep going" I said. He just smiles at what I said. He leans down and places a soft kiss on my forehead. I cover my mouth as I yawn softly.

"Get some rest... you need it" he said. I just nod my head and snuggles closer. I turn my body so my face is facing his stomach. He continue to play with my hair, luring me deeper. I close my eyes and let myself drift off to sleep.

Tanjiro P.O.V

I smile softly as I notice that Y/N have fallen asleep. She have been working so hard to perfect her new Breathing Technique. She's significantly stronger now with her new way of combat.

It truly hurts me when I witnessed how hard she's being on herself during her try outs to find the most suitable Breathing Form. She keeps calling herself useless and a burden. That was painful to watch. But now that she has found the suitable Technique. She's been training so hard to make every Forms stronger. She even managed to create 11 forms of that Cyrokinesis Breathing.

I notice Y/N suddenly starts squirming in her sleep. Her face starts to contort as a sign of discomfort. "Y/N?" I said, placing my hand on her cheek. She moves a little, but still shows no sign of waking up.

"N-No... no! S-Stop!" She whimpered. I lightly shake her shoulder, trying to wake her up. "D-Don't k-kill them, Father. No" she said. I pat her cheek rapidly, trying to get her to wake up from her nightmare. She sprung up into a sitting position as she starts to breathe heavily. Her eyes looks around in obvious panic until they landed on me. Her eyes starts to swell up in tears.

"It's okay... you're just having a nightmare. You're safe, Y/N. You're fine" I said, cupping her cheeks. She wraps her arms around me, and start crying softly. I gently place my hand on her head as she clings onto me, desperate for comfort. I pull her to sit on my lap as she buries her face into the crook of my neck.

"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked. She only shakes her head, letting me know she didn't want to. "Okay... don't talk. Just calm down, okay? I'm right here..." I said, soothingly. She just tighten her arms around me. I rub her back, drawing random circles on her back comfortingly.

After a while she finally calms down. But she didn't make a move to pull away from me. "Are you feeling better?" I asked. She pulls away to look at me. She didn't answer me as she just stands up from my lap. She walks away and grab her sword. "Woah Woah Woah. That's enough training for today, Y/N. You'd collapse if you keep on forcing yourself" I said.

She turn to look at me. "I have to get stronger..." I said. I frown at what she said. She bit her lips as she try to hold herself from crying. "I had a nightmare, Tanjiro. You... all of you were dead in the hands of my father. And it's all because I'm not strong enough to defeat him. I'll train harder... I don't care if I ended up coughing up blood. I have to get stronger, so I can end him" she said. She turn around to walk towards a training dummy. I quickly grab her wrist.

"No... stop it" I said. She turn her head to look at me. She try to yank her hand out of my grip, but I just tighten my hand around her wrist. "You don't have to force yourself, Y/N..." I said.

"I have to, Tanjiro... I don't want that nightmare to ended up being a reality. Everyone's life is on the line if I fail at defeating my father" She said. I shake my head as I pull her into a hug. "Let me go, Tanjiro... let me go so I can start training again" she said.

She gently pushes me off her. She turn around to start her training again. I let out a sigh as I ruffle my hair out of frustration. I totally understand her worry... I really do. But I don't want her to push herself too far.

"I'm really sorry about this, Y/N..." I said. She turn to look at me with a confused look. I walk over to her and swiftly throws her over my shoulder. She let out a yelp at my action.

"Tanjiro! You put me down this instance!" She yelled out. I didn't listen to her and just carry her out the dojo. She continue to struggle to get out of my grip. "Don't make me hurt you!" She threatened.

"Yeah, sure..." I said, letting out a laugh at what she said. "I'd like to see you try. But I know that you wouldn't hurt your boyfriend. You love me..." I said. She let out a sigh and finally stops struggling, making me smile to myself. I knew Y/N wouldn't hurt me, even if she threatened she would. "See?" I said, laughing softly.

"Well, whatever... I can just continue training when you fell asleep" she said. I sigh at what she said. I know she's too stubborn to just listen to what I said. I can't stop her if she wants to train again later. So I guess I just have to be there to supervise her, just to make sure that she wouldn't push herself beyond her limits. That's the best solution I have for this. God, Y/N... what am I gonna do with you?
