{Chapter Sixxteen}
*Nikki*
I groaned as I woke up to sunlight shining through my window.
I slowly woke up and saw it was now morning.
I then looked and see Mal, sound asleep next to me in my arms.
Tour ended a few days ago and we were all finally home and mostly just preparing for our music video, which we start filming next week.
I smiled and leaned down, kissing Mal's forehead as I realized it was Sunday and we didn't have any rehearsals or whatever, so we can sleep in and do nothing all day.
Ding-Dong.
I groaned in frustration as the doorbell rang downstairs.
Well so much for staying in bed all day with the wife.
I groaned quietly and carefully let go of Mal and climbed out of bed, pulling on a pair of pants before lazily heading downstairs.
Ding-Dong. Ding-Dong. Ding-Dong. Ding-Dong. Ding-Dong. Ding-Dong. Ding-Dong. Ding-Dong. Ding-Dong.
The doorbell then started to ring repeatedly.
"I'M COMING!! Sheesh!!" I shouted as I got to the bottom of the steps and then head to the door.
"Better not be more fucking bible huggers," I thought while unlocking the door and then I opened it.
There stood a woman who.... Oddly looked a little bit like Mal... But older.... She was dressed all professional and stuff.
"Umm, can I help you?" I asked.
"Are you Nikki Sixx?" she asked, looking upset.
So help me this is another church member...
"Umm, yeah?" I asked, and suddenly she shoved me back and barged in. "Whoa!!"
"Where is my daughter, you neanderthal!?" she snarled at me.
"What the-?! Lady, who are even talking about?!" I asked, holding her back. "Get the hell out of my house!!"
"Not until you tell me where she is!" she snapped, shoving me again when suddenly...
"Mom!?" a voice shouted.
We turned and see Mal at the bottom of the stairs in her robe, looking shocked.
"Wait, this is your mother!?" I asked.
"Mallory," The woman said coldly as she adjusted herself.
Are you fucking kidding me?

*Mallory*
After we somehow calmed down a little, we sat in silence in the living room, Nikki next to me as my mother sat across from us.
The tension in the room was almost suffocating to say the least.
In the dead of night of late 1978, I crossed the Arizona border, leaving everything of my old life behind me, with only a small suitcase full of clothes, a precious locket that once belonged to my grandmother, and barely even $100 to my name, which obviously wasn't gonna get me far for long, but it was all I had.
For my first two weeks in California, I was living in my car, even had to snatch leftovers from outdoor restaurants a few times to be able to feed myself while looking for a job and salvaging the little money i had, sneaking into locker rooms at community pools after hours to be able to have a somewhat decent shower whenever possible.
That's when I met Dottie, and she offered me a place to stay, actual warm food and a bed, and the job at the diner.
The people I have met since I stepped foot in Los Angeles have been the family I never had back in Arizona. The family I needed.
They care more about me and my well being than anything else, and actually support me with what I want to do, and if they dont agree with something then they don't degrade and insult me because of it.
"Well, you clearly made yourselves comfortable here," My mom said.
"What do you want? How the hell did you find me?" I snapped, Nikki placing his hand on my back.
"It wasn't hard once your face was all over the tabloids next to this... This animal," she snapped. "Same goes for those lowlives he's with."
"Excuse me?" Nikki asked as I gripped his arm protectively.
"You will treat my husband with respect in our house or this conversation is over," I snarled. "The same thing goes for my friends."
"Mallory, please," she scoffed. "You can't honestly think this man loves and cares for you, do you?"
"A lot more than you and Dad ever did," I snapped, getting up. "All you two ever cared about was college and money I would have only ended up making to fill your wallets, you were just raising a trophy to make yourselves look good!! Then just to make me feel bad, you cut me off just because of not meeting your expectations!!"
She was quiet as I continued.
"I've worked my ass off for too long to please you both, even worked 2 jobs while in college to pay it off, risked every part of my health for you both, and it was never even enough for you!" I said.
"Oh, but this life of rock n roll, sex, and god only knows what else is enough for you!?" She snapped, getting up.
"Beats having to be a bitch for a bunch of tormenting pimps!" I snapped.
SMACK!!
My mother's hand suddenly struck my face, making it turn as I held it.
"HEY!!" Nikki snapped as he shot up and I stopped him before he did something we were both going to regret.
I then faced my mother.
"You are going to annul this marriage, come back to Tuscon, and get a REAL job, or else," she snapped.
"Or else what?! You'll disown me? Not speak to me again?" I asked, then leaned in. "Like I give a damn!!"
She looked at me with shock.
"I have a good job.... an amazing husband who loves and appreciates me.... A whole family who care about me, and friends, too..... I'm literally seeing like 30 different countries every year.... I'm finally happy and doing a lot better than you even had planned for me.... And over my dead body you will be the one taking that away from me," I said.
She was quiet as she glared at me.
"My name is Mallory Sixx... Bennett is not a part of me any longer," I said. "Meaning you and I have nothing more to say to each other, so get the hell out of my house before I get the cops involved."
Her eyes widen in shock as Nikki walked over and held my shoulders as my mother scoffed.
"This isn't over," She snapped, then stormed out, but suddenly....
"Hey!" Nikki shouted, making us both turn.
"Your daughter is actually one of the most smartest, most beautiful women I have ever met," he snapped.
"Nikki, let it go, she's not worth our time," Mal said.
"No, Mal, okay, this woman can't just walk in here, insult you and our friends, have the nerve to put her hands on you, then walk out!" he snapped as he turned towards my mother.
"Your daughter is not some puppet you can pull strings with, especially now. She is her own person, and I am so fucking grateful to have her in my life. Everyday, I look at her, and all I can think is how god damned lucky I am to even know her... To enjoy her smile, her eyes a-and her laugh and to just wake up every morning, knowing she's there and that I have the fucking privledge to say she's my wife and I'm her husband," Nikki said. "She loves going out and having fun with me, or her friends, she loves to cook and read and horseback riding and lemon shots and just being herself, and I love, support and appreciate her being who she is and doing whatever she loves so long as she's happy."
My eyes widen at his words as he continued.
"I do all of that, unlike you or your lowlife husband ever did. Hell, you shunned her over a fucking test score. You only cared about her brain, and didn't ever, not once, care for her happiness or what she wanted. It was always what you wanted, no matter how it affected her, and that is no way to raise a kid. Believe me, I know."
I pursed my lips as I saw my mother turning red with rage.
"She is not your property, and she never will be," he snapped.
My mother only glared at us before storming away, slamming the front door.
I took a deep breath and held my head.
"Babe, just breathe," Nikki said, turning me around and holding my face in his hands. "Don't let her get to you."
"God, she always does this, she doesn't even care about me, so why bother?" I said, feeling tears starting to form. "How the hell did she even find our house!?"
"I don't know, but stay calm," He said, pulling me into his arms as tears spilled. "So long as I'm around, she can't do shit to you."
I sniffled as I clung to him and he rubbed circles on my back to help calm me down.
"All those things she said... Yeah, I admit, I do crazy things, but when it comes to you and only you, I just want you to be happy," he said. "You matter to me, Mal. So much more than all the drugs and sex and even the rock n roll."
Looked up at him with watery eyes, feeling the pad his thumb wipe away my tears.
"Did you really mean all of that?" I asked.
"Baby, of course..." he said. "I love everything about you, and I am so grateful to even know you."
I sniffled as I felt him wipe a tear away with his thumb.
"I love you, Mal," He said, looking into my eyes.
I sniffled and smiled.
"I love you, too, Nikki," I said.
He then pressed his lips against me, and we kissed for a bit before pulling back.
"Come on, let's get to bed and then we can go out to eat, just you and me, a little date," he assured with a grin.
I smiled up at him. "I like that idea."
He chuckled and kissed my forehead before we headed back upstairs to bed.
