{Chapter Seventy-Five}

*Mallory*

I am now a little over 2 months pregnant, more than 10 weeks to be exact, and so far everything is still okay.

Nothing bad or strange has been detected on the baby so far. There's a steady little heartbeat, growth has been pretty normal, and all vitals show a positive outcome.

The fetus is about the size of a strawberry, more or less, so my bump is still a bit small but noticeable. In a way, its more like my stomach is just protruding a liiiiittle bit, but there is a bit of a difference from my usual flat and slightly toned stomach.

I've also been taking prenatal vitamins and on a nutritional diet (with the exception of a few cravings, of course), eating food with a lot of protein, calcium, and folic acid).

No pain. No spotting or bleeding. No strange feelings.

Overall, everything feels fine and all is good..

Even though the baby is still small, sometimes I can still feel them there. It feels like a soft yet very faint little fluttering feeling, and I mostly feel it whenever I talk to the baby, or whenever I play Mötley Crüe records.

Nikki calls me every chance he gets, and is trying his best to stay calm. I know his fans need him, too, but I just miss him so damn much, and just want him to come home already. He's pretty homesick, and tensions are sadly starting to rise over there.

Unfortunately, Vince and Sharise are in the middle of another dispute, hence why I haven't seen her so much around here, and Vince has mostly been in a bad mood lately.

So now, I spend almost everyday when I'm not working with Heather, Athena, Alexis, and Dante who also came to visit with his girlfriend, Rose (who's really nice).

It was my day off so I was just laying on the couch doing this old wives' tale that I Nikki's grandfather, Tom, said his grandmother knew back then when he called us.

I think she said its an old Italian thing, but I think it really just depends.

Its a sort of gender test, where I take my wedding ring and loop it through some string or a necklace, and then wave it over my baby bump. If it moves back and forth, it's a boy. If it moves in a circle, it's a girl. It also works with a needle and thread.

Apparently it worked with Nikki's Nona, and even for his mother when she was expecting him and his sisters.

I am usually not one for old wives tales, but I'm bored and its late at this hour where Nikki is, (Madrid, maybe? I think London. I forgot).

"Okay... Let's see... Back and forth is a boy, full circle is a girl," I recited, remembering the instructions, and carefully hold the thread and ring over my stomach.

"..... Diagonal?" I asked, confused. "What does that mean then?"

I sighed as I pull back and then try again, but this time the necklace just goes still....

"....You're not gonna tell me, are you?" I said, squinting at my baby bump.

It's official.... I am bored....

I sighed and place it aside before softly rubbing my stomach.

"You know... I really am trying to keep my head up," I said. "Yet... I'm scared.... And then at the same time, I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself, for.... For if I lose you today or tomorrow or-or when and if it happens... Because if I don't then.... Then I feel that Nikki could end up losing both of us.... I don't want him to be alone... He's too good to be alone....."

I looked down, softly brushing my fingertips over my abdomen.

I get that small fluttering feeling inside me again and I smile down at my baby bump.

"But, you know, part of me has a lot of hope that this is going to all work out, and you'll soon be with us," I said, smiling down. "I know your dad is excited... He was once scared to have kids, just like I was, since we both come from pretty tough childhood... Just know that we would never put you through what we went through, and you'll have a happy, loving home, and two parents who will do nothing but love you, care for you, and always be there for you...."

I looked down and smiled as I held my stomach gently, closing my eyes.

Please, please make it.....

"Hey," a voice suddenly said, making my jump a little, and turned to see Sharise.

"Oh, sorry," she giggled. "I just let myself in with the key you gave me."

I laughed at her. "Its alright. Was really just taking time to myself."

She nodded and then noticed my wedding ring and the thread at my side, and I got it, holding it in my hands.

"Nikki's grandfather told me to try the ring test," I scoffed, playing with the string a bit. "I'm really just bored, honestly..... And trying to keep my mind off any foreshadowing looming around..."

"Vince and I did the same thing when I was having Skylar, but we used a needle and thread," Sharise smiled as she walked over, sitting at my feet. "Though, odd enough, the needle pointed towards a boy.... So accuracy is up for debate."

"I guess... Honestly, though, I've been getting anything but a circle or a straight line since I started, and I swear on my life the kid even gave me a figure eight at one point," I said, then held up the string with my ring. "Wanna help?

She laughed, taking the thread in her hands. "Sure. Lift your shirt up a bit."

I laid back down and lifted my shirt up to show my stomach and she got comfortable near me.

"Ready?" She asked.

I nodded, and then held the necklace over my stomach and............

*Tommy*

I continued pounding the drums loud as the crowd was going bezerk during the small solo, all of us playing and givung it our all.

Mick played the guitar loud before Vince started singing again.

Name dropping no-names
Glamorize cocaine
Puppets with strings of gold
East L.A. at midnight
Papa won't be home tonight
Found dead with his best friend's wife

Take a ride on the wild side
Wild side
Take a ride on the wild side
Wild side

Gang fights
Fatal strikes
We lie on the wild side
No escape
Murder, rape
Doing time on the wild side

A baby cries
A cop dies
A day's pay on the wild side
Wild side, wild side
Tragic life on the wild side
Wild side, wild side
Kickin' ass on the wild side
No goin' back on the wild side

I panted as we finished the song, Vince adjusting the lab coat her wore.

"Alright, London!! Night's almost fucking over, but we got one more song for ya!" Vince shouted. "This one's the one that makes you feel alright, he's called Dr. Feelgood!!"

The crowd cheered as the music began.

Rat-tailed Jimmy is a second hand hood
He deals out in Hollywood
Got a '65 Chevy, primered flames
Traded for some powdered goods
Jigsaw Jimmy He's runnin' a gang
But I hear he's doin' o.k.
Got a cozy little job, sells the Mexican mob
Packages of candycaine

He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's the one that makes ya feel alright
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood

Cops on the corner always ignore
Somebody's getting paid
Jimmy's got it wired, law's for hire
Got it made in the shade
Got a little hideaway, does business all day
But at night he'll always be found
Selling sugar to the sweet
People on the street
Call this Jimmy's town

He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's the one that makes ya feel alright
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's gonna be your Frankenstein

I've got one thing you'll understand (Dr. Feelgood!)
He's not what you'd call a glamorous man (Dr. Feelgood!)
Got one thing that's easily understood (Dr. Feelgood!)
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgooooooood!

He'll tell you he's the king
Of these barrio streets
Moving up to Shangri-La
Came by his wealth as a matter of luck
Says he never broke no law
Two time loser running out of juice
Time to move out quick
Heard a rumour going round
Jimmy's going down
This time it's gonna stick

Mick then started his guitar solo as we hyped the crowd up and Nikki and Vince headbanged a bit.

Soon Vince started singing again.

I've got one thing you'll understand
He's not what you'd call a glamorous man
Got one thing that's easily understood
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgooooooood!

The crowd continued to chant Dr. Feelgood as we ended the song and pyro went off as we ended the show.

I climbed over my drum set and mooned the crowd as Nikki pulled his bass off, grabbing it by the neck and slamming it against the stage.

The crowd cheered on as Nikki then got the bass and threw it across the stage.

I walked over to the other guys as we all then gathered around and took a final bow, saying goodbye.

I smiled at the crowd as we said our farewells and then we exited the stage, fatigue immediately hitting me a bit.

Tour has honestly been okay, for the most part. We've had our ups and downs, and new shows are always being added, which is both a blessing and a curse all together in a way.

On top of that, we're still trying to get used to not having MJ around. Her replacement back up singer, Katie, is really nice and fun to hang with, and the tour nurse, Jenny, is a close colleague of MJ's and is also pretty cool, too.

We all talk to MJ as much as we can, and so far things seem over there, and the pregnancy has seemed fine, too, with zero problems.

"I'm starving," I sighed as we headed into the dressing room, pulling my headband off.

"There's a club down the street that serves food, too," Vince said.

"Fuck it, let's go," Mick said.

"I'm gonna make a quick call here first," Vince said, grabbing the phone that was in our dressing room.

"Got it. We'll hold your seat," Nikki said as they heded out.

We all change and soon head out to the place, and notice a payphone there.

"Hey, I'm gonna try and call Mal, see how she's doing," Nikki said.

"Tell her I say hi!" I said.

He chuckled and nodded as he went to the phone and Mick and I headed inside.

We sat down, seeing girls were dancing and people were drinking, eating, dancing, and just enjoying themselves.

Mick ordered some waters to start off with when Vince came in, looking upset.

"You good, bro?" I asked.

"Fine, just... What are we eating?" he asked, sounding upset.

We were quiet as soon the drinks arrived and Mick decided to go get Nikki.

*Mick*

I walked out and see Nikki still on the payphone, so I walked over.

"B-Babe, hey.... Look, I know... H-Hang on... C-Calm down, I-" he tried, as if trying to come up with something to said.

The minute he said those last words he then quickly pulled the phone back from his ear, some faint, obviously loud yelling and crying being heard from the receiver before a click sounded, which meant Mallory must have hung up.

"What was that?" I asked him.

"Mal's having a hormonal day, and I just told her of the new dates for Canada I just found out..." He sighed.

"Shit, yeah, I saw the itinerary earlier before the show," I said.

"On top of that, she's starting to feel bad about her body, so she's pretty emotional today," I said. "And her craving of the day is sushi for some reason and that's unfortunately for her a big no-no for pregnant women, so that's got her peeved, too."

I gave a 'yikes' look. "Damn...."

He then grunted angrily. "I should be there... I helped make this baby, I have a fucking responsibility to Mal, to my kid! She shouldn't be alone at a time like this!"

"And she's not," I assured him, gripping his shoulder. "She's being taken care of by women she trust, who probably know a lot more about pregnancy and babies than we would, especially when two of them already have kids. On top of that, she has easier access to doctors who are going to take care of her as well, and will definitely be way more rested back home than hoping from plane to plane and being on the road nonstop."

He looked away, obviously still upsetting over it.

"This wait will be worth it once you're in that hospital room holding that baby," he said. "Just bear with it a little longer for her and that kid.... Being there for the fans in a way also means being there for them," I told him.

He sighed and nodded. "You're right...."

I nodded at him before deciding to ask. "How was her check up?"

"So far, nothing abnormal came up," he said. "Baby is fine, vitals are good for both her and fetus, no red flags at all so far."

"That's good to hear," I said as then I saw Tommy walk towards us.

*Nikki*

"You guys finished the phone?" He asked.

"Yeah, just talked with Mal," I said.

"How is she?" I asked.

"Let's just say I wish I was there with there right now," I said. "But physically, she's okay, and so is the baby. Nothing came up at her last appointment to raise any concern."

He nodded. "That's good. I'm gonna try to call Heather."

We nodded and left him to the phone.

"Come on. Some food will help you feel better," Mick said, motioning me over to the building

"Yeah, I guess," I sighed as we walked in. "By the way, how were you settling in to the new house? I realized I never asked."

Before leaving, Mick had found a new house not far from mine and Mal's, and he mamaged to move his stuff before we left on tour.

"Oh, its all good. Mallory's gonna help me pick out some furniture when we get back," he said. "Look, thanks again for helping me. You really didn't have to."

"Its nothing, dude, and of course we had to. You're like a father figure to me, too, and Mal would literally have me hanging by the balls if I just did nothing. We both care about you a lot, Mick."

He smiled and patted my shoulder as we headed inside, seeing Vince was at the table sipping some Sprite and munching on some chips.

We sat down as then a waitress approached out table.

"Lemon drop?" the waitress asked, holding out a plate of them.

"No, thank you," I said. "Just some more waters."

She nodded and headed out as Vince sighed.

"This is great," he said, holding his glass of soda up before putting it down.

"What's up with you?" Mick asked.

"Nothing, its just...." he said. "I was late in calling to talk to Skylar again...."

"Shit," I said. "Sorry, dude..."

"Look, umm, I don't want to talk about it...." he said. "H-How's MJ? Did you get to talk to her?"

"Physically, all is well," I explained. "Emotionally... Not so good, but this time it's mostly because of the hormones. She misses us too much, too."

He sighed unhappily as I tried to keep it together, too.

"And now they're keeping us on the road," I scoffed. "Fifteen new days in Canada."

Vince gave me a look. "What? I haven't seen anything about any new dates," he argued.

"Check your itinerary, man," I said.

"I would, but apparently somebody doesn't think it's important to let the lead fucking singer know what the fuck is going on here!" he snapped.

"Vince, calm down, it was a last minute thing for us, too," Mick said.

Vince sighed in annoyance as then Tommy walked in, plopping down in his seat and looking upset.

"Guys, I fucked up," he said as I sipped some of my water. "Heather's been all distant and..... I drank..."

I sighed quietly with a frown as Mick and Vince listened with a bit.

"Well, a little," Tommy defended. "I had one shot and I'm sorry."

Before I could say anything, Vince spoke up.

"I'm gonna have a fucking cocktail, too," he snapped. "What are you gonna do about it, Nikki?"

"Okay," I quickly said, trying to calm him down. "Everyone falls off the wagon once in a while..."

"Oh, fuck you, man! Fuck off!" Vince snapped, making me look at him, surprised. "You know, fuck the rest of this tour! It is the No Fucking Fun Tour, and I am sick and tired of not having any fucking fun!!"

"Dude, chill," Tommy sighed.

"No, fuck this, I'm heading back to the hotel," he snapped, storming off.

"Vince, hey!" I said, following him.

I then caught up to him and grab his arm.

"Hey, we're not done," I snapped.

He then turned around and shoved me back.

"We fucking are, man," he snapped.

He went to turn when the waitress passing around more lemon drops walked back and Vince grabbed a shot from her tray.

"Oh, and by the way..." Vince said, facing me with the shot up. "Here's to your sober band."

He downs it in one go and then just drops the glass, letting it shatter at my feet.

I glared a bit as he stood in front of me again.

"Get me that itinerary, bass player," he said, and with that just left me standing there.

I sighed as I turned away, shaking my head and heading back to the table.

Oh, Mal... If only you were here.... Everything makes more fucking sense when you're around.....

So, a quick question for everyone:

Anyone having issues saving gifs from Tumblr?

All of a sudden, I'm starting to have problems saving them now, and I don't know why. It wont work on either my phone or on my laptop.

Its been a long time since I used Tumblr, so maybe I missed something? I don't know.

I'm only glad I was able to save a bunch of gifs into a file even before starting this story (and from time to time still continue saving some more).

Still, it's pretty weird, and kind of sucks.... 😕
