{Chapter Fourty-Two}
*Mallory*
Soon it was the day of the wedding. It was taking place at a really fancy hotel Heather's parents booked.
I've been living with Mick for a few weeks since the incident and have also been working on getting into medical school. So far, the East Coast seems promising...
I've never told Sharise about me and Vince. Yeah, they broke up, separated and all, but I pretty much broke the girl code. She could hate me forever... And I deserve it....
As far as anyone knows, Vince did rescue me after Nikki's rampage, and took me to his home. No one except us both know what really happen and plan to keep it that way for the rest of our lives.
"You look gorgeous, sweetheart," Heather's mother excitedly said as me and her finished adjusting her dress as she faced the mirror.
We all were dressed in our bridesmaids dresses and had our make up and hair done the day before. I had missed the bachelorette party due to obvious reasons (didn't really want Heather and her friends asking why I had a bunch of fading bruises), so I had Sharise go without me and say I caught a really bad flu.
"God, I'm so excited, I can barely breathe!" Heather said excitedly, then swayed a little, making me and "Ohh, I actually can't."
"Alright, easy girl," I laughed as me and her mom steadied her. "Tommy's a handful, but you got this."
She laughed and nodded as then Sharise walked over.
"Hey, any chance the guys are ready? Its about time we start heading out," she said.
"Not sure. I'll go check on them," I smiled.
Heather nodded as I stood up and headed out down the hall to where the guys were getting settled.
I knocked on the door and walk in, seeing the guys just chilling around the room.
"Hey," I said. "The bride's getting her final touches on and heading out."
"She's really gonna marry me, huh?" Tommy asked excitedly as he headed to the mirror, trying to adjust his tie. "This isn't some kind of sick joke, is it?"
"Life's a sick joke," Mick laughed softly as he took a sip of his vodka.
"Mick," I chuckled as I motioned to Tommy to tie it for him.
"Heather is lucky... She has the patience of a saint," I joked, making Tommy laugh with an eyeroll.
"Heey, what time is it?" He asked as he moved to look around, making me mess up, Mick looking at his wrist before realizing he didn't have a watch. "I think we should get out there."
"Heather should be done really soon," I said, trying to retie it.
He nodded. "Hey Nikki, let's hit it."
When we got no response, I looked over to see Nikki passed out on the nearby couch.
"You guys ready?" Tommy asked Vince and Mick before looking voer at Nikki. "Yo, best man! Let's go! I got a wife waiting, come on!"
Nikki continued to lay there in silence, making my brows furrow.
"Is he alright? Is he sick?" I asked, seeing he looked a bit pale.
"I think he had a fix," Vince sighed.
My eyes widened. "You're joking..."
"You fucking kidding me?" Tommy snapped as he stormed over and shook him. "Hey, Nikki! Wake up, asshole!"
Tommy then pulled Nikki's sunglasses of and smacked him a bit, waking him up and groan.
"What the fuck, dude?" Nikki whined.
"Jesus!" Tommy snapped as I stopped him, trying to calm him down before proceeding to try to fix his tie again.
"I'm good," Nikki slurred as he sat up. "It's all good."
"You're most definitely not all good, man," Tommy scoffed as Nikki started to get up. "But whatever, just clean- HEY!"
Tommy's interrupted by Nikki swaying and almost falling over the table of complimentary snacks and drinks the hotel provided us.
Tommy then grabbed Nikki by his shoulders and shook him, making me quickly step in.
"Hey, get your shit together! I don't want Heather to be embarrassed, okay?!" Tommy snapped.
"Tommy, Tommy, calm down," I tried.
He just sighed and let him go, focusing on his tie again.
"I'm embarrassing?" Nikki slurred with a scoff. "Cool..."
Tommy looked over and glared at him a bit before sighing and shaking his head.
"Let's go marry your fancy ass TV chick in this fancy ass hotel," Nikki said, spinning the beer bottle in his hands and spilling some.
"Hey! Are you gonna do this on the happiest day of my life, asshole?!" Tommy snapped, making me put my hand on his shoulder.
"The happiest day of your life?" Nikki asked, then shook his head.
We stared at him as he conitnued.
"Nah, the happiest day of your life was when I let you join my band," Nikki snapped in a slur.
"Alright, that's enough!" I snapped at him, stepping between him and Tommy.
Tommy just scoffed, pulling his tie off and storming away form him.
"Should I get someone else to stand up there with me or what?" Tommy asked in annoyance.
"Don't look at me, man," Vince sighed as he laid back in his seat.
I pursed my lips as then Mick sighed, grabbing his bottle of vodka.
"I'll do it, Drummer," He said, slowly getting up.
"I-I've already got the fucking rings," Nikki slurred. "Let's just go."
Tommy just grunted before leaving the room.
"Tommy," I said, but he was already gone as I'm met with with the door slamming shut.
I sighed as then Mick and Vince followed out the room, and I looked back at Nikki, who struggled to put his jacket on while still holding the beer bottle, only to end up tripping on the table and knocking it down, along with it's contents.
"Shit!" He muttered to himself.
I sighed and shook my head, walking outside to help get Heather ready to walk that aisle.

The ceremony was beautiful, and Heather looked so gorgeous.
Right now, we were all enjoying the dinner and drinks provided.
"Smile!" Heather shouted as me, her and Sharise posed for a photograph, Sharise and I on either side of her as we smiled and laughed, the camera flashing.
"We are so happy for you," I said to her as Sharise fixed her veil.
"Thank you girls, this is all just so amazing, you did a great job," She smiled.
We smiled as we shared a hug and soon Tommy stepped up.
"Alright, time for some bride and groom pics!" He said, and we laughed as the four of us got another picture together.
"Okay, I am starving, come on, let the guys get a picture," Sharise said, taking my hand.
I nodded as we walked off the gazebo where the photos were being taken.
"Come on, guys, picture!" Tommy called out as Vince and Mick stepped up, Tommy putting his arm around Vince. "Big smiles!"
Mick stood by Heather as Tommy then looked over.
"Nikki, come on, man!!" he called out and I looked over.
"Jesus Christ..." Sharise said in shock as Nikki walked over.
I sighed and looked down as he posed next to Mick, looking so fucked up and smiling like an idiot.
"Did Nikki seriously shoot up just now?" Sharise asked, looking upset.
"None of us had any idea until we were about to leave," I sighed. "Mick even almost stepped up to be best man instead."
Tommy had looked over and immediately looked pissed off.
I pursed my lips and looked away.
"I can't watch this, I-I'm going to get some air," I said.
She nodded as I stepped out, going over to the balcony outside the reception hall.
I held on to the balcony as I felt tears beginning to pool, but I held them back.
I sighed as I suddenly had the urge for a bump, but knew Tommy had enough issues with Nikki, so I just take out my pack of cigarettes and a lighter from my bag, sticking one in my mouth, and lighting it.
I sigh as I felt the warmth from the smoke invade my body.
That man up there... I can't even recognize him anymore....
He's not that rebellious, determined rockstar dreamer with the bloody nose I met in the diner...
Now standing there is the empty, cold shell of that same dreamer, now filled with nothing but despair and heroin.
I sniffled as I felt tears fall, before carefully wiping them away.
I then closed my eyes as I tried to remember the good memories I had with him.
When we met at the diner and he defended me.
Being at his first show and fighting off hecklers together.
Our first date and kiss together.
Standing side stage smiling at each other as he played in front of 18,000 people.
Making love.
Wreaking havoc wherever we went.
The feeling of safety I had whenever he hugged me, especially when I was upset or scared.
The day we got married, despite barely remembering much.
When he defended me from my mother.
Every date. Every touch. Every kiss.
I even remembered the feeling of warmth I felt in my chest whenever I rested my head against his and listened to the soft beating of his heart.
I whimpered as tears streamed down my face, realizing something as I covered my mouth to suppress my cry.
I now understand why he does this.... Why doesn't want to be saved... Why he didnt care if he died....
Its because, in a way... He already did...
