Chapter Seventeen
"Yay! Let's have a snack party after this!" Amy squealed and happily paid the street vendor before taking a bag of the deep-fried banana and another bag of leko which was deep-fried fish sausage. She was out with Giselle and Drew, along with a couple of extra friends in Alisha and Meera.
"That's it for our snacks, my dear. We will have a buffet tonight!" Alisha quickly linked her arm around Amy's to stop her from looking for another stall.
"That's just a simple BBQ dinner. I don't think there are too many choices. What about chicken satay next?" Amy ignored her friend, as her eyes were sparkling while looking at the trays of skewered food on the counter of the stall.
"Amy, we will have BBQ a few hours later!" Meera, another friend of Amy reminded as she linked another side of the tiny girl's arm and the pair tried to drag Amy away from the stall.
"Well then, we will get grill chicken tail!" Amy grinned and looked at two of her friends next to her back and forth
"Ew! I'm not gonna eat that chicken ass!" Meera cringed while she shook her head and shuddered.
"Please, it's juicy! I like fats. Oh, I'm gonna get grilled chicken gizzard too!" Amy grinned even wider and gently nudged Meera with her elbow.
"Yes, I want some too, please!" Giselle piped in from behind the trio while Drew next to her was chuckling.
"Your taste is just..." Meera rolled her eyes a little and breathed out, "Never mind!"
"We can save them for tomorrow if we can't finish them," Drew suggested and Alisha turned to look at Drew with her eyes snapped wide and mouthed 'no'.
"See! That's why Drew and Giselle are my favorite friends, unlike both of you!" Amy teased a little and quickly nodded her head at the lady in the stall eagerly and cried out, "Yes! I want half a dozen of each!"
"I'm worried for Zach now. I wonder how both of you could save money for a housing mortgage," Meera clicked her tongue and sounded sorry for her friends.
"Food comes first, who cares!" Amy shrugged a little and giggled, "Zach loves food too! Wait! I'll take a few pictures and make him cry!"
"Drew, I think we better head out before this crazy woman gets more food!" Alisha cried out.
"Okay! But..." Drew trailed off as she gave a timid smile to subtle her to laugh when she saw Alisha's facial expression was pleading as she worried she might trigger the tiniest friend. "Can I get one coconut before we leave?"
"I want a coconut pudding!" Amy gushed and rapidly tapped her feet on the ground.
"NO!" the two friends said in unison while Giselle and Drew burst out laughing behind them.
"I'm sorry! I really like pandan coconut!" Drew said out loud for them to hear while Giselle chimed in, "It is delicious!"
Drew looked down at their linked arms when she felt a tap on her arm. She smiled before looking at her cute friend who was grinning at her and said, "Now I know you like pandan coconut too! I can suggest a place for us to go one day."
"Really?" Drew was happy with the idea and asked, "Where is it? It's hard to find it."
"It's not too far from our houses. Maybe you would miss this spot because it is further a bit from my house. Besides, you can try the rojak too if you're a fan of it."
"I would prefer the peanut sauce instead of the prawn sauce. I can't stand the strong smell," Drew admitted.
Giselle tightened her arms around Drew's arm and assured her, "I'm sure it would be your favorite combo with coconut, and that's my top favorite." Giselle nibbled her lips a little before happily listing out the items, "I like the combination of julienned cucumber and turnip, fried bean curd, prawn, and dough fritters. And oh! You will love that sauce! It is a sweet, spicy, and nutty sauce."
"It sounds delicious. I like it already," Drew grinned and Giselle patted her senior's arm excitedly, "You can add the squid and hard boil eggs too."
"Alright, we will meet up with the girls at the parking lot before we are leaving!" Amy announced gaily while Drew and Giselle quickly took the coconuts and pudding from the hawker and were ready to return to the resort.
"Woohoo! We can get a nice jacuzzi, and snacks before we're off to dinner!" Meera was finally thrilled with the idea of going back to the resort since she had been looking forward to a nice bath in the hot jacuzzi and snack time.
"Who should you thank for the short escape of getting suntans, huh?" Amy asked proudly and tilted up her chin.
"Ya ya, the planner of the trip! We're just lucky selected to go along with this plan!" Meera grinned sheepishly and gently bumped the tiniest girl next to her.
"It's kind of a win-win for everyone. Those who love sports and sunbathing could just join the fun at the beach, and for those who hate to get sunburned just take a free and easy shopping trip. The bonfire is the main activity for every one of us to spend time together, and some of them are free to go after eating dinner," Amy explained and shrugged casually.
"I'm pretty sure we'll get high marks for the assessment of this month after a happy rating from the people," Alisha said as she hooked an arm around Amy's shoulder and the tiny girl grinned as if she'd won a prize, "That's my plan!"
"I would get a long island iced tea!" Meera sang along.
"Alcoholic!" Alisha retorted and Meera stuck out her tongue at her to play a peace gesture.
"Bye!" Giselle giggled and Drew was holding a coconut while another hand was taking a bag of the snacks that had been contributed by Amy which was more than they expected. But they could always to eat it on the next day if they were full. The pair decided to leave the trio in their room for their jacuzzi party and freshen up after they shared the snacks and headed back to the room across from them. The brunette quickly walked in front of the door and opened it for them to enter.
A few hours had passed, and the sun was setting down on the horizon over the sea, the warm breeze was as soothing to her as the brunette next to her. Drew wished they could skip the dinner with the group, and she wouldn't mind the awesome friends from next door joining the fun with them. But it couldn't be bad to skip the bonfire tonight. She just wanted more time with Giselle.
"It is so good to have a moment like this. I'd rather we stay in this room," Giselle said softly while Drew turn to look at her favorite cute friend holding a coconut and sipping the drink with the straw they were sharing. Was she reading her mind? Drew couldn't take her eyes away from Giselle's brighter color eyes as hazel color reflected from the golden hour light of the sun.
Giselle was gazing at the evening beach and the corner of her lips curled upward while gingerly holding the coconut toward her senior before her eyes gazed into hers.
The shy taller girl didn't like to miss a nice offer from her favorite cute brunette, and she happily leaned in close and took a sip of the coconut. A content sigh came from Drew's wide smile, and she said softly, "Thanks."
"It's my pleasure!" Giselle flashed a bright grin at her senior.

The boys cheered loudly as wild wolves when Tom was chugging down the bottle of beer and shoved it to his minion. Most of the boys and some girls were in their bathing suits playing beer pong.
In the meanwhile, those who were sober were sitting in a small circle around the BBQ pit and drinking cocktails and beers and relaxing. Drew and Giselle were enjoying chatting with the girls and sharing the places they had traveled.
"I love Taiwan! Don't give me that face. I know Taiwan has a lot of pork, but we still can eat beef. There are so many good foods that are beef," Alisha laughed and added, "I'll go again."
"I would go Bangkok again! Shopping is my pride!" Meera grin.
"Maybe up next I would go Manila," Amy beamed and gently bumped Giselle and asked, "Any nice place you would suggest us to go?"
"You can go Boracay beach, it's a beautiful island," Giselle said while taking her phone out to show the pictures to Amy and the tiny girl gasped, "This will gonna be on the wish list of my next trip!"
"I'll share the contact of the driver and boats with you. They could give a reasonable price for you." Giselle said and quickly added, "And, and... I last time stayed at one of the homestays and it was really good! I'll share the link for you."
"Thanks! I need it. Hmm... this would gonna be a good plan for our anniversary! I'll give him the best surprise!" Amy gushed and the girls giggled at her excitement.
"So, an hour has passed. I don't think you're busy right now, huh?" the girls giggles disappeared and they look uneasy especially Giselle since Tom was gaping at her like a predator and the smirk wasn't everyone comfortable to see.
"You will never understand the word no, will you?" Drew replied with dripped sarcasm and the fury fire of the pit was dancing in her eyes.
"Pardon me? Am I talking to you?" Tom said lazily at Drew who was gripping the bottle of her beer tightly.
"You're interrupting our good time," Drew said dryly.
"Come on!" Tom chuckled dryly and slurred, "I'm just dropping by for a nice invitation for all of you to have fun with us." Tom indicated the drunk people behind him and clicked his tongue, "You girls seemed bored and I'm just doing you a favor."
Right before Tom could grab Giselle's hand, Drew smoothly slapped his hand away and asked with arched her eyebrow, "So, what can we do to let you know that we have so much fun without you? Did you not hear us all laughing and smiling until you showed up?"
"Very well, you seemed thirsty though, huh? Let's get you a shot!" Tom waved at the guy behind him and gestured for two drinks and he turned back and said, "So, let's see who finished first. If you win, I'll get lost. If you lose, you all have to join the fun with us. Got it?"
"Go for it!" Drew said confidently as Giselle quickly tugged Drew closer and whispered, "Don't force it, Drew. We should be fine if we stick around and join one game with them." Giselle looked at Amy and the girls and looked for their support and the rest nodded their heads eagerly as assurance.
"I'll be fine," Drew assured Giselle with a grin and Giselle immediately nodded her head and said in a small voice, "Okay, just have fun. We're cool with anything, okay."
"Go! Drew! Win this for the ladies!" Amy cheered and the other girls clapped their hands in support.
"Come on! Get your fat ass here quickly! I can't wait to see this loser throw up!" Tom laughed in his annoying flat tone and quickly grab the beer and roughly pass it to Drew and smirked smugly, "Get ready loser!"
Drew took the beer and raised it high be ready and the people started cheering out loud!
"Ready, one, two three!" A guy shouted.
Drew quickly chugged down the beer and Tom had drunk almost half of the beer and guys cheered happily and some of the girls kept cheering Tom in excitement.
Giselle's eyes lit up when Drew was catching up the speed of drinking down the beer and was so close to Tom's amount. Right before Tom was taking the remaining quarter of beer, he spat out the foam into the mug, and the acidic warm beer spilled out from the rim of the mug within a second.
Tom dropped the full mug on the sand, hunching down with his hands on his kneecaps, and continue to throw up unpleasant muddy liquid as porridge on the mug he had dropped, and everyone around him cringed in disgust and some of them looked away.
Drew eventually bottoms up the beer as she steadily turned the empty mug upside down to prove she had won the contest. Giselle quickly ran toward Drew to take her arm to drape around her petite shoulder while wrapping her arm around her senior's waist to support her. Amy and the other girls joined Drew for a group hug and Drew said with a lazy smile, "It's over. Let's go back."

"Do you wanna go for a walk with me?" Drew's voice was gentle, and her smile was warmer in the chill night breeze. She eventually broke the silence after she had rested an hour on the bench where she was sitting out on the porch of the room that they were staying in.
"Are you feeling better now?" Giselle asked softly, she wouldn't mind if they stayed in the room for relaxing, and she wanted to make sure her senior got better after fast drinking the big beer for their sake.
Drew's faint dimple still lingered on her left cheek while she nodded her head in return. She gradually stood on her feet and stretched out a hand for Giselle to hold. The brunette generously revealing her toothy grin, gladly took the warm and soft hand in her own. She adored the sweetness from her senior and she was surprised with the gesture.
Late evening sea illuminated by the moonlight hung high in the dark sky, waves cascading onto the sand and coating the coast of the beach. The girls strolled hand in hand along the coast with their bare feet leaving imprints on the dampened sand that would soon be washed away.
The breeze was chilly, and goosebumps stood out on the girls' fair skin since they were only wearing their black and white matching tank tops and denim shorts. Even though they might need to go back before catch a cold, Giselle was enjoying the night, and she didn't want the good time to end too soon.
"We can take a dip to keep us warm if we want to hang out for a while," Drew's low and soft voice awakened the brunette's inner thoughts.
"Will that really help?" Giselle wondered while putting her forefinger on her pouty lips.
"It might be cold, but when we get used to it, we will get comfortable with the temperature," Drew assured and giving a promising smile that Giselle liked a lot.
"Umm... okay," Giselle replied and was nervous as she walked into the water without life jacket, but she knew that Drew would keep her safe.
"Don't worry, we won't go too far," Drew said softly and gently squeezed Giselle's soft hand for reassurance.
"I trust you," Giselle quickly said and her confident had gain.
Drew's smile spread wide, and she pulled Giselle closer to her and said, "Stay close to me then, so I can keep you safe.
"You better!" Giselle playfully commanded and they shared a giggle.
They walked slowly since the waves were stronger but not threatening. However, Giselle shrieked with laughter when a wave splashed across them, dampening their hair.
Giselle laughed while using a hand to comb her soaking long curly hair and put the locks on her right shoulder as she realized Drew had held her waist with her arms around.
Drew's high bun hair had dampened, and her face was priceless and clear as a model in a cleansing facial advertisement with the water droplets from a few strands of her hair sticking to her temples. The water level had reached Drew's chest, and her dampened neck and distinct clavicle were inviting Giselle to caress them with her fingers.
"I'm sorry. I didn't act too wisely, and I wasted our time having fun," Drew smiled apologetically and her eyes sharing the same dark color as the sky that could drown Giselle deeply.
"Don't be sorry, Drew. We had so much fun today! We should have appreciated that you had taken a long drive for this trip, and you are protecting us and keeping Tom away from us," Giselle said as she used a hand to cradle Drew's soft face and said softly, "Thank you."
Drew leaned in and she frowned slightly a little and said, "I don't like Tom always try to approach you. I just want him to stay away from you."
"I'm glad you did," Giselle beamed and admired Drew's beautiful small eyes which had softened. The brunette smiled at her senior gently using her thumb to caress the soft skin and said, "I know I had been saying this many times, but I don't think that's enough to just appreciate everything you had done for me. You're being an amazing work wife. But I'm afraid I'm getting too comfortable and take everything for granted."
"I thought that's what a work wife supposed to do to support each other, right?" Drew sounded jokingly but looked sincere with her small smile.
Giselle was touched and she leaned in her face to the crook of Drew's neck, gently squeezed her hand on her cheek, and said softly, "Thank you, my work wife."
"Anytime," Drew said and leaned her head closer.
Giselle pulled away from Drew and hooked her arms around her senior's neck and wondered they were ready for this. Drew's neck was bobbing while her dark eyes were gazing in the direction of Giselle's lips, and they were catching each other's breath.
Giselle's heartbeat was accelerating while looking into her senior eyes and whispered, "Kiss me?" Drew took a gulp and complied with closing her eyes. Giselle was as nervous as her senior, but readily let their lips meet.
Drew gradually parted her lips making a move and gently nibbling Giselle's lip and she slowly but surely followed the lead. Giselle liked her senior and had the patience and assurance that this was meant to boost her confidence to her. A blissful kiss under the beautiful moonlight of the water, might do that. Giselle would never get enough, and she just wanted more.
A soft and happy moan just trapped in between their lips and Drew gently pressed the brunette closer to her, seemingly afraid that she would lose her from her embrace.
The girls eventually pulled away from each other, sharing the sweetest smile they had ever seen before. Giselle broke a heartily giggle when she saw her senior's eyes were smiling too hard that couldn't see them open. She always thought girls are small eyes are attractive.
"That's it? You just end up laughing at me?" Drew playfully made a sad face, and she practically pouted her lips.
Giselle laughed even louder and pecked Drew's lips and said, "Your eyes are too cute. I like whenever they are smiling." She gently used a thumb to caress Drew's deepened left dimple and said softly, "Especially this one. My favorite."
"That's my first time getting a nice compliment about my eyes and dimple," Drew chuckled.
"Really? Oh, you are gonna hear more from me then," Giselle grinned while admiring her senior's beautiful face.
Drew leaned in and gently pressed her lips on her favorite brunette and said in between their lips, "And this is what you get whenever you say those kind words to me again and again."
Giselle giggled and said, "I'd love it."
Drew pulled away and gingerly comb Giselle's dampened curly hair and her hand cradling her cheek and said, "I think we should go back before we get too cold here."
Giselle looked at the room they were staying in and looked back at Drew and said, "Okay, but we might need to run back. I'm pretty sure it's going to be freezing when we walk out of the water.
Drew turned back and tried to put both of Giselle's arms around her neck and she grinned, "I think if we swim back before I give you a piggy ride it would be faster! Are you ready for this?"
"Yes! Let's go!" Giselle squeaked delightedly and gave motivation to her senior to swim fast for them.
