Chapter 7 👨🏻

I cut the call after speaking to my family lawyer and turned to see Bani standing a few feet away from me. I observed her face keenly to find out if she had heard my conversation or not but there was no reaction from her as she was staring at the floor while being lost in some deep thought. I walked to her and stood in front of her. "Shall we go?" I asked and she nodded while still staring at the floor.

What's so interesting on the floor?

I took few steps forward and turned back to her as I felt her not walking with me. She was fiddling with her dupatta and I went to her again. I held her soft hand and pulled her gently to which she stared at my face and then our hands in shock before walking with me silently. I wondered what's wrong with her as she was giving me cold shoulder since I refused to let her go with my brother for the party he mentioned. My brother's friends were such waste fellows and I would never allow my wife to meet those useless idiots as I don't want them to cause any trouble to her.

We got into the car and I started the engine but not before stealing a glance at her. I could see her mumbling something under her breath but couldn't hear what was that. I shrugged and continued driving towards the place I wanted to take her surprisingly. I decided to take a different route which would lead to a small forest as the normal routes would be busy at that moment. I was about to turn on the radio when she spoke to me.

"Where are you going now? This is not the route to your house." She asked being panicked.

My house? It should be OUR house, woman.

Without bothering to reply her, I continued focusing on my driving when she held my wrist which was holding the steering and started pulling it. "What are you doing? You don't want us to meet with an accident right now, do you?" I asked and she immediately left my wrist.

"Where are you taking me? It seems like a forest. Take me home right now!" She ordered me and I looked at her in amusement.

My innocent little kitten is ordering me.

I stopped the car abruptly in the middle of the forest as I knew no one would take the route at that time. I turned to her, maintaining a straight face and she instantly shifted closer to the door. It was really hard for me to control my smile as she was behaving like a baby who refused to go to the stranger's arms.

"Why did you stop here? What are you planning to do with me? Look! If you try to do something to me then I'm sure Sam would bury you alive. Take me home right now!" She again ordered me while trying to maintain a confident look in her eyes but I could feel her losing her confidence in her voice. Sensing the lack of response from me, she tried to open the door but I was too quick to turn on the child lock feature. She stared at me with her big doe eyes and her jaw dropped in shock. I was about to say something but she beat me to it. "What are you trying to do? Did you just kidnap me? Are you trying to kill me now? See, I won't disturb you after you divorce me I promise. Please send me back to my home. I'm not coming to your mansion also. Please let me go." She begged me and I gaped at her.

Wtf? Divorce? Who told her that I'm going to divorce her? What nonsense is she blabbering right now?

"Hey, who told you that----" She cut me before I could ask my question.

"Please let me go. Don't kill me. I will go far away from you. I promise I won't tell anything to your family. Please leave----" She gasped and her blabber got stopped abruptly as I pulled her onto my lap after unbuckling our seat belts. She started to wriggle in my arms but I pulled her closer and tightened my grip around her. She tried to glare at me, pretending to be a brave girl but I could hear her heart thumping loudly.

"Who told you that I'm going to divorce you?" I asked her in my deep voice and she gulped in fear.

"I...I heard...your phone con...conversation just now." She stuttered and I frowned at her as I never mentioned anything about divorce to anyone.

"Which phone conversation?" I asked again and she stopped wriggling in my arms.

"Just now near the entrance. You spoke about the legal papers to someone and also you wanted to get my sign without letting your family to know about it. I know you are forced by Sam to marry me but it's okay I can understand you. I don't have any problem in it. You can divorce me and be free from this forced marriage." Her voice broke and tears formed her eyes. I felt a lump in my throat listening to her foolishness.

Bullshit! Why the hell she's thinking about me so cheaply? Why would I divorce her when I married her willingly? Her assumptions are completely wrong and I need to do something to make her stop assuming foolishly like this.

"So you think I'm going to divorce you because I was forced into this relationship with you by my mom?" I asked her, gritting my teeth and she nodded at me with tears flowing down her eyes. I wiped her tears away and wanted to shout at her saying that I was not force into this marriage and I tied the knot with her wholeheartedly but then an idea struck me. "You know what? I don't need to divorce you now." I told her and she looked at me confusedly.

"Why? I will sign papers tomorrow and you don't have to----" I put my finger on her lips to stop her and leaned closer to her face.

I smirked at her and took out a pocketknife that I always kept in the car as a survival tool. Her eyes instantly widened and she tried to escape from my arms but I stopped her. "Stay still!" She stopped and froze like a statue while her eyes were fixed on the knife.

"Do you know why I brought you out today?" I asked and she nodded as if she knew the reason. "Then tell me why."

"Because you..you wanted to ki...kill me." She stuttered in fear and I pressed my lips tightly to cover the amusement playing on my lips.

"Correct. Yes, I'm going to kill you, take out your organs and export them to different countries. You know your brain, heart, liver and kidney all will be exported to various places and I will be earning millions in exchange." I told her and she gasped loudly while pushing my chest with her hands to move away from me.

"No!!!! Please don't do anything like that. Sam said you are a cardiologist but you are something else. Please let me go. I will run away from here. I promise I won't tell this to anyone. Let me go!!!" She cried and started trying to open the door from my side but I stopped her from doing that.

"Don't worry, I've changed my mind. I'm not going to take all your organs. I will just take your heart only." I told her while maintaining a villain look on my face and her hands immediately covered her chest as if protecting her heart from me. I was having a really hard time on trying to not to laugh at her antics.

"No!!!!! You can't take my heart. I have only one heart and I will die if you do that. I want live for many years more. Please let me go!!!" She shook her head vigorously and I placed my hand at the back of her neck to stop her and pulled her face closer to mine.

"What makes you think that I would listen to you? Your heart belongs to me and I can take it whenever I want." I smirked at her, brushing my lips against her chin to which she stopped breathing.

I think you should stop now or else she would pass out in the shock you gave her and your mother would definitely bury you alive.
My inner voice reminded me and I decided to stop playing with the poor soul who was staring at me with so much fear in her eyes.

"Breathe, baby girl. I'm not going to do anything to you. I was just playing with you." I told her while giving her an assuring smile and she finally released her breath that she was holding but I could still hear her heart pounding rapidly.

"Were you really playing with me? You won't take my heart and kill me?" She asked innocently while staring at me with fear in her eyes.

"I promise I was just teasing you. I'm not a ruthless monster to kill a human. I'm a doctor and my duty is to save lives, not to kill them." I smiled at her and she heaved a sigh of relief. My heart skipped a beat when she leaned forward and rested her head on my chest. We were literally in a hugging position and it was my turn to hold my breath.

"Please don't ever do this to me. I had already went through the deathbed once and just now I felt like I was going to lose everything again. Even though I didn't believe you completely when you were threatening to take my heart just now but still I was afraid seeing your dangerous smirk. I swear I will tell this to Sam if you do this to me again." She sniffled while playing with the button of my shirt and I instantly realised how foolishly I was behaving with her few minutes ago. I caressed her back and placed a light kiss on her hair.

"I'm sorry, baby girl. I promise I won't repeat this again. I was just teasing you since you were giving me a cold shoulder from just now." I told her and she immediately looked up at my face.

"Why are you calling me baby girl? You don't regret calling me that?" She asked, making me frown at her.

"Why would I regret calling you baby girl?" I asked her back.

"Because just now in the room...arghh it's okay leave it." She sighed and I tried to recall what happened in the room.

"I don't get you. What happened in the room?"

She sighed again, looking at me with a pout. "You called me baby girl there and when I looked at your face, it showed like you were regretting for me calling me that." She explained me and I rolled my eyes.

Mom was right. This woman has good observation skills which is literally dangerous for everyone.

"Stop assuming everything on your own. Your assumptions are always wrong because kitten, I don't regret calling you baby girl." I told her and she gaped at me again.

"Don't call me kitten. I hate cats!" She pouted at me, making me chuckle at her.

"Sorry kitten, I can't help that. You look like a kitten whenever you blush at me."

She again leaned on my chest and hit my arm playfully. "I don't blush!" She stated but I could see her blushing as her cheeks turned crimson red.

I chuckled at her and pulled her cheeks. "Okay. Whatever helps you sleep at night." I told her and she nuzzled into my chest while trying to cover her face.

You're so cute, kitten.

Wrapping my arms around her tightly, I closed my eyes feeling contented to have her in my arms but within few minutes I opened my eyes hearing her again. "Can I ask you something?" She asked me and I held her chin to look at her face before nodding at her. "You are not going to divorce me?" She asked, making me sigh at her exasperatedly.

I cupped her face and made her look into my eyes. "I'm not going to divorce you, genius. We haven't even register our marriage yet so how can I divorce you?" I asked her but she made me roll my eyes again with her stupid question.

"It means you are going to divorce me after registering our marriage?" She asked me innocently.

"Baby girl, I did not put this nuptial chain and vermillion on you to divorce you. Why are you asking me this again and again? I may lack in expressing my emotion towards this marriage but I swear I married you wholeheartedly and no one forced me in this. I will never ever think about breaking our relationship even in my dreams because in this birth, I'm yours and you're mine. We are always together in this. Do you get that?" I asked her and in return she started blushing all over again.

But I will let you go when you want to go, Bani. I just hope you won't choose to leave me.

"Then why did you leave me all alone right after our wedding? You left without informing me and I thought you left because you hated me." She said sadly and I went speechless as I wasn't able to tell her the truth.

"I told you right. I had an emergency there." I said without looking at her.

"But I know it's not the truth. You and Sam were lying to me." She dropped the bomb and my eyes widened in shock. I snapped my head towards her to see her looking at me with a sad smile on her face.

Shit! She's too dangerous. Damn, I have to lie to her again now.

"It's okay. You both can tell me the truth when you want. I won't force you." She nodded at me assuringly and I was surprised to see her calm and understanding nature.

"Thank you, kitten." I smiled and squeezed her hand gently which was on my chest. "Baby girl, I know you don't mind sitting on my lap the whole day but see there it's getting dark and we shall leave now." I told her but she glared at me.

"I'm not sitting here willingly. It's you who is stopping me from going back to my seat." She accused me and I smirked at her, showing my hands which were not holding her anymore.

"When did I stop you, kitten? See, I'm not even touching you now." She gaped at me and instantly shifted back to her seat. I chuckled at her when she turned her blushing face away from me and I started driving again. "You know something, initially I planned to take you to the Phoenix Home after your appointment but now it's too late. They won't allow us inside after 6pm, right?" I told her and she turned to check the time.

"It's 6:23pm now. We were there for more than an hour?" She asked me with a shocked expression.

"Yes, baby girl. You were too comfortable on my lap until you forgot to realise the time." I teased her and she started hitting my arm with her tiny hands.

"Will you take me there tomorrow?" She asked me, expecting a positive answer from me but I sighed.

"I can't promise you now as I have an important surgery to attend tomorrow. I will let you know tomorrow, okay?" I asked and she nodded at me with a smile.

We reached home and joined for the dinner with our family. Once I was done with my dinner, I asked mom to meet me at the study to talk to her privately and she agreed with me. I informed Bani that I had some work to do in the study and went there to wait for my mom.

It had been 35 minutes since I called my mom but she was nowhere to be seen. I was about to go out but thankfully she entered in and closed the door. "What's the matter, Veer?" She asked me irritatedly.

"I called you 35 minutes ago, mom. Please be punctual next time." I narrowed my eyes at her and in return she gave me a dangerous glare which immediately shut my mouth.

"You think I don't have any other work to do here? It was easy for you to call me and reach here but your wife was following me all the time like a kitten who follows its mom." She said and I broke out into laughter as something crossed my mind. "You're laughing, Veer." I heard her but I couldn't stop it. I started recalling how Bani reacted when I called her kitten.

Holla sweethearts, how's this update? I hope I didn't confuse you all too much today. I thought of giving you guys some break from guessing about their mysterious past today 😜😂
