"Maaa....please don't leave... no....I need you...don't go." I heard Bani murmuring in her deep sleep as I was sitting beside her on the bed since she fell asleep due to the effect of medicine she took for her headache.

Maybe she's dreaming about her mom.

I saw tears rolling down her closed eyes and quickly wiped them off. Her hands were clutching the blanket in a tight grip. I caressed her face gently to wake her up and she stirred in her sleep. She opened her eyes and looked up at me with an annoyed expression on her face.

"Baby girl, you were having a b--" She cut me off before I could explain her.

"Why did you wake me up, Veeru ji? I missed the chance to see that person's face again!" She huffed in annoyance and sat up on the bed.

Huh? Which person?

"Whose face, baby girl?" I asked but in return she glared at me.

"How do I know that? You chose the right moment to wake me up when she was about to show her face to me."

"She? Who is that she?" I asked again.

"I don't know. I've been seeing that figure in my dreams since a few years but until now I didn't get the chance to see the face. But today she was almost ready to show me her face but you just ruined the moment." She said grumpily and left to the washroom while mumbling something under her breath.

I'm sure she is cursing me under her breath now. But who is that figure? I heard her saying maa so was that her mom by any chance?

I made a mental note to ask Siya about this later and waited for her to come out. Few minutes later, she came out wiping her face with a towel and stood before the mirror. She was observing her reflection in the mirror and gasped seeing something. I walked to her and stood behind her to follow her gaze. My lips curled into a proud smile when I saw her gazing at the hickey I gave on her neck. I decided to tease her by wrapping my arms around her waist and the next moment the towel fell down from her hand.

"Do you like it, baby girl?" I whispered in her ear and smirked as she shivered in my arms due to the proximity.

I blew some air near her neck as her cheeks turned into tomato red. She looked so cute while blushing and I couldn't help myself but kiss on her reddish cheek. She gasped loudly and fell in my arms as if her knees gave up to support her. "Baby girl?" I whispered again.

"Hmm?" She hummed while looking at me through the mirror. I winked at her and she quickly lowered her gaze shyly making me chuckle at her cuteness.

Pulling her closer to me, I nuzzled the nape of her neck and placed a kiss there to which she started to wriggle in my arms. I tightened my grip around her but when she started making more moves, I frowned and left her instantly sensing her discomfort in my arms.

Maybe I'm crossing my limits now.

"I'm sorry." I apologized, stepping away from her and lowered my eyes.

"Why sorry?" She asked, making me look at her. I could see her frowning at me with confusion and...disappointment maybe.

But why is she disappointed now?

"Veeranshu ji?" She called me and I narrowed my eyes at her.

"Stop with that ji! Just call me Veeranshu." I ordered her but being the stubborn girl as always, she shook her head no.

"No. Mother Grace asked me to respect my husband." She said making me smile. I loved it when she referred me as her husband.

"Okay. Even my mom asked me to respect my wife too so can I start calling you ji after this?" I asked back, expecting her to agree with the idea of 'excluding JI' but to my surprise, she asked something else.

"Veeranshu ji, I just remember this. Why are you not calling me using my name? I have never heard you saying Bani. Why? Don't you like my name?" She asked with a pout making me gulp in alarm. I really didn't expect her to notice that point.

Giving a tight-lipped smile to her, I just shrugged off as I went speechless with such an unexpected question from her. "Tell me. You don't like my name?" She asked again, showing her big doe eyes which were eagerly expecting an answer from me.

Just distract her now, Veer. You are not ready to tell her the truth yet.
My inner voice suggested and I thanked him for helping me sometimes without showing his snappy attitude as always.

"Hey, what's that?" I asked, pointing at her neck and she frowned at me.

"What?" She asked back.

I stepped closer to her and pointed at the hickey I had given her. She looked at the place I pointed and instantly her cheeks turned into tomato red again. Smirking at her, I pulled her to me and wrapped my arms around her waist making our chests collide with each other. She widened her eyes and gaped at me but quickly lowered her eyes when I winked at her again.

Such a shy baby.

Pushing the hair strands falling over her face with one hand, I left her waist and cupped her face with the other hand. I expected a reaction from her but she was just staring below my neck with a cold expression on her face. I instantly looked down to see her staring at the place where I had the tattoo but it was covered with my shirt. I was about to speak but she beat me to it.

"Is that a permanent tattoo?" She asked with a pained expression that made my heart clench in agony. I nodded at her and she again lowered her eyes. I could feel her inner turmoil as no girl would prefer to see her husband having someone else's name carved near his heart but I was just helpless at that moment.

I cupped her face with my both hands and gave an assuring smile to her. "Just trust me, baby girl. I can't go back and change anything in my past but just trust me when I say after this I'm all yours. I strongly believe that in this birth, I belong to your heart and you belong to mine. I can understand your insecurities but just give me a chance to prove you that I'm not lying to you. Please, baby?" I pleaded, looking at her expectantly as she was making circles on my chest with her finger.

"Did you love her that much until you could carve her name near your heart?" She asked, making me sigh as she was going back to the same topic again and again.

"Don't go there, please. Let's not talk about it anymore."

"What if she comes back again in your life? Will you leave me and go with her?" She asked with a sad face making me lose my cool.

Arghh!!! Can I just kiss her to shut her mouth?

"Tell me, Veeranshu ji. What will you do if she comes back again? She is the love of your life, right? So for sure you will leave me and go back to her. Am I right?" She asked me and I was about to answer her but she continued again. "Oh this is why you left me alone here for 1 whole week? Because you can't forget her right? Or did you go to meet her for one last time? Answer me, Veeranshu ji. Why are you silent now?"

I immediately stepped away from her and clenched my fists. She was really testing my patience and I couldn't tolerate her stupid questions and also the way she was calling me using that JI was not helping much. Taking a deep breath, I just left her there and walked into the balcony to control my rage but seemed like the God was having a good time while writing my fate as she followed me to the balcony and started with her interrogation there.

"Veeranshu ji, why are you not an---" Before she could continue, I grabbed her arms swiftly and pinned her again the wall making her shut her mouth instantly.

"Call me using that ji once again and I swear I will kiss you right this very instant!" I warned gritting my teeth, making her eyes pop out of their socket. She instantly covered her lips with her hands and shook her head vigorously to which a smile threatened to appear on my lips.

Ufff, her cuteness. She will be the death of me one day.

"Good girl. Just keep quiet and don't ask me anything now. Most importantly, never ever use that ji with my name. I hate it. Do you get that?" I asked in a dangerous tone and she nodded immediately. "Take off your hands from your lips now." I said, pulling her hands away from her lips. My gaze instantly fell on her lips as she licked her soft petals in a very slow manner that successfully grabbed my attention. Losing my control over the strong urge to capture those petals with my lips, I cupped her cheeks and leaned forward closer to her lips. She parted her lips lightly and I was about to let my lips touch hers but the next moment she brought me back to the reality with her stupid question again that made me to step away from her.

"How does she look? Taller than me? Was she more beautiful than me? Can I see her picture? Is it in your phone?" She asked continuously making me groan in vexation. I ran my fingers through my hair to calm myself and sighed in exasperation seeing her puppy eyes which were waiting for my answers.

"Such a mood spoiler." I mumbled under my breath and walked away from her without bothering to answer her. But the next moment, I stopped in my tracks hearing her again. "Veeranshu?" She called my name for the first time without adding any JI there and I turned towards her with a grin, heaving a sigh of relief.

"Say that again." I asked and she blushed while biting her tongue. I waited for her to call my name again but sensing the lack of response from her, I walked to her and pulled her gently by her hand. "Baby girl, say that again please?"

"Say what?" She asked making a fake innocent face.

"Don't test my patience now, baby girl. Say my name again."

She smirked at me and raised her eyebrow. "What will I get in return?"

"Oh, so now madam ji wants me to bribe her is it?" I asked teasingly and she nodded at me. "Okay, tell me what you want."

"You promised to buy me a phone like 2 weeks ago but you haven't do that until now. Buy me a phone with lot of games in it, only then I will call you using your name." She spoke like a baby and I chuckled at her childish demand.

"Okay, baby girl. Anything else?"

"I don't remember for now but I will ask you later." She told me and I smiled at her.

"Alright then."

"Wait. When are you going to get me a new phone?" She asked excitedly and I just shook my head with uncertainty as I couldn't buy her a phone without Arjun's consent.

I need to discuss with him about this first.

"Soon. I promise." I patted her cheek and she nodded at me with a sad face.

A week later, I was in my cabin reading a report of a patient when I heard a knock from the door. Unlocking the door with the device on my table, I continued going through the report but stopped when I felt a particular scent that I used to feel at home.

It's her scent.

I looked up to see the person and my eyes widened with surprise seeing my Bani there. She walked towards me with a bright smile that enhanced my mood and I got up from my seat.

"Hello, Doctor." She chirped, making me smile at her. She scanned my whole cabin avidly as it was the first time for her to visit my workplace.

"Hello gorgeous, are you my new patient today? Tell me what's wrong with your heart, I will see if I can treat it or not." I said, walking towards her and she blushed while maintaining some distance from me.

Chuckling at her shyness, I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards me to which she put her palms on my chest and started pushing me away. "What brings you here, baby girl? Is there any problem? Did you come here alone without the bodyguards?"

She stopped pushing me and looked up at me with a pout. "No, that two giants followed me till I reached your cabin and thanks to them as people outside there stared at me as if witnessing a weird creature on this earth was being tailed by two grumpy bodybuilders." She rolled her eyes and I laughed, pinching her nose.

"Don't bother about what others think. Your safety is important to me, baby girl." I told her, caressing her face but she slapped my hand. "Ouch, why?" I asked, faking a painful expression.

"Why did you leave without waking me up today morning?" She asked, faking her anger.

"It's because I didn't want to disturb my sleeping beauty who was sleeping peacefully there and I had to perform a surgery early in the morning by 6 so I left the home in the early hours." I explained her and she nodded with a serious expression.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked, seeing her serious face.

"You told me that you are a cardiologist but just now Roshan told me that cardiologists don't perform surgery." She pouted at me and I shook my head, smiling at her innocence.

"I'm a cardiothoracic surgeon, baby girl. I can perform surgeries too."

"What is that? Cardio...cardiothrasic?" She asked, struggling to pronounce it correctly.

"Okay. Say it as Cardiac surgeon." I gave her an easy term to pronounce.

"Cardiac surgeon?"

"Yes, you are right. Now tell me. What brings you here today?" I asked and she started making a sad face. "What happened to you, baby?"

"What's the date today?" She asked back and I tried hard to control the smirk that was forming on my lips.

I remember it, baby girl, but I want you to say it first.

"Why? What's wrong with the date?" I acted as frowning in confusion.

"I know he forgot it. I shouldn't have come here in the first place." She murmured under her breath but I heard that.

"What's wrong with the date, baby girl?" I asked again and she pouted at me.

"Why did you forget? I thought you would remember it. I know you don't like me that's why you forgot the most important date of our lives." She said making a face and I knew very soon that face would turn into a crying face so I decided to stop my act.

Shit! I don't want to make her cry on our special day.

"Hey, I was just playing with you. I remember what's special today." I told her and she instantly looked up at me excitedly.

"You remember? Then why did you pretend like you forgot?" She asked, hitting my arm and I laughed at her antics.

"Because I wanted to see if you remember it or not."

"I do. How can I forget this day? This is the day you gave me a family along with this mangalsutra and sindoor one month ago." She said pointing at her nuptial chain and vermilion on her forehead.

I smiled at her and kissed on her forehead. "Happy 1st Monthsary, my wife."

"Happy 1st Monthsary to you too." She giggled and the next second my eyes widened as she kissed on my right cheek in the blink of an eye.

I looked at her to see her expression and as I expected, she was blushing profusely due to her own act. I cupped her face and made her to look at me. "Am I lucky enough to get another kiss from my baby girl today?" I asked teasingly and she shook her head no. "Why? Give me another kiss please?" I asked again and she bit her lower lip.

"Close your eyes then I will give you another kiss." She demanded cutely.

"Okay, baby girl." I closed my eyes with a contented smile on my face and waited to feel her soft lips on my cheek.

It has been a few seconds but I didn't feel anything on my cheek. I tried to open my eyes but hearing her voice, I stopped it. "Wait, don't open your eyes."

"What are you waiting for? Faster kiss me, baby girl." I asked impatiently and I heard her giggles.

"Okay just wait with your eyes closed." She ordered me but this time I could hear and feel her presence closer to me. The next moment, my smile widened as I felt her soft lips on my forehead instead of my cheek. I opened my eyes to see her standing taller than me. I frowned and looked down to see her standing on a stool that I always had in my cabin.

I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her on me to which she wrapped her arms around my neck as a reflex action. "I like the way you are taking efforts to fulfil my request."

"But you haven't fulfil my request yet." She pouted, making me sigh at her.

Don't go there again please.

Deciding to change the topic, I lifted her body slightly and made her sit on the desk that was behind me by flipping our position. She sat on the desk comfortably and looked at me expectantly with her sad eyes. I didn't want to make her sad but at the same time I was feeling guilty for not giving her what she asked.
