I’m more than sure we’ve all started reading a story. And were getting into it and eventually we fall in love with it!

And as your waiting for the next chapter to be updated you see a little authors note at the bottom and you read it. It usually starts off like:

‘Thank you so much! I love you all’ etc… But then there’s those couple authors that think

‘Hey, let’s completely take advantage of our readers’ and they decide to say something like:

If I don’t get __ votes, I’m not posting the next chapter.

You have no idea how mad that makes me! These people take time to read, comment, and vote on your story and you turn around and take away an update from them? How unfair is that? What did they do to not derserve to read that update?

What if they've voted for every chapter? What if they've missed stuff because they've been reading your story? Don't threaten your readers like that. 

EVER.

This problem was actually brought to my attention by Sammy_96 and what she thinks about it pretty much sums up what I said:

I hate it when the authors write "Guys last chapter got ___ votes, I'm so happy! Thank you so much! I'm not gonna upload the next chapter if it gets atleast ____ more votes."

Normally my eyes are like o.o, but after reading ^that^, they go O.0 . You could've just stopped at "Thank you". People would have appreciated that more.

I mean, come on! I take time out of my day to simply read your story and you're threatening me on the basis of something I can't even control!? Well, INTERCOURSE YOU MY FRIEND, INTERCOURSE YOU! :@

Now, if you do this, it’s not that hard to fix.

Just take it off and oh

People don’t have to read, comment, or vote on your story. They do that to be nice and to help you out. So as Sammy said ‘You could’ve just stopped at “Thank you”’
