So this topic is about editors.

And I’ve complained about one before. This editor was amazing, made my story so much better and then they left. I’m going through the same thing with a co-writer -.-

BUT the way TheOneAndOnlySakura, the person who brought this rant to my attention, described it perfectly! So heres what they had to say about it:

Some types of editors! Sure, there are many decent ones out there, but I have met many different kinds that absolutely push my tiny rainbow buttons!

The Absent Editor: They agree to edit your story, and they never do! You go to that person to help you, and they shut you down after agreeing to it! How wrong is that?

Is there something about Wattpad that just gets under your skin? Want to let the public know they need to stop doing it? Just private message me your idea and I will write about it! And no, I don’t find it awkward AT ALL. So don’t be shy. You can submit one you wrote or submit an idea and I’ll post it for you.

Heard an awesome song that you just can’t get out of your head? Seen a picture that you think is just AWESOME. Private message me the link and I’ll put it up and dedicate. And no, it’s not awkward -.-

The Editor Wannabe: They promise to edit your story, and they follow through all right. But in their edited version, there are grammar mistakes that weren't in your UNEDITED version! You might as well have not asked for an editor at all! I mean, seriously people, if you are going to edit someone else's work, you should at least remember what you should have learned in elementary school!

The Over-Stepping Editor: This editor usually gives good advice, but they overstep their boundaries when they try to change the whole plot line! They give you an edited version of your story, but it is completely unlike what you had in mind! They take out many important parts, like the hero avoiding a painful memory of past relationships. That could come up later! It probably will! I've had many a story completely switched around, and events happening at a different time than I wanted. The hero was supposed to kiss the girl before the food fight, and now it's after? NO WAY!!! YOU DO NOT DO THAT TO SOMEONE!

The Over Reacting  Editor: Sure,everyone appreciates some feedback on their stories, a reader's opinion, But to have someone bash you and you're story because you accidentally put there instead of their? A simple, "You misspelled this, it should be that," would suffice, thank you very much!

The Illiterate Editor: The Editor that tlks lyk dis, all the while attempting to correct your mistakes! You don't need their input! See also The Editor Wannabe.

The Unwanted Editor: Someone who appoints themselves your editor without asking you first! They spam your private messages sending you edited copies of your chapters! You don't want their advice! It's even worse if they're like any of the editors mentioned above! It's an insult to you, if you know how to edit, and an insult to your editor if you already have one!
