Chapter - 72
Recap: Naren returns from Canada and get to knows about all incidents happened to Maya
***********
Sanju sat by the window sill, hugging Aryan's photo frame tightly to her chest. The golden rays of the morning sun reflected off the tiny dewdrops on the windowpane. She slowly opened the window and gazed out at the garden. On any other day, the glistening dew on petals and leaves, bathed in soft light, would have filled her heart with joy. But not today. Not now. The dream house she had once longed for, with every detail carefully crafted to her taste, held no warmth, no life, without Aryan.
He was her breath , her very soul. Life without him felt like a body without a heartbeat. She was certain Chandrasekar had completely lost his senses in his thirst for revenge. Fear gripped her every second. She knew how smart Aryan was, yet her fragile heart trembled at the thought of him being in danger. Her lips moved silently in prayer, calling on every god she could remember to protect him.
Suddenly, Deepa's words echoed in her mind that she could see Aryan through Bala's calls, even if she couldn't speak to him. Wasting no time, she grabbed some paper and began writing everything she longed to tell Aryan. Every word was filled with longing and love. Since their marriage, she had never spent a day without him without hearing his voice. This separation only made her love for him grow stronger.
She rushed through her morning chores and bathing, afraid she might miss the call. Moving quickly into the living room, she found Deepa preparing breakfast.
"Deepa mom, did Bala bro call you?" she asked anxiously.
"Not yet, dear. Have your food now," Deepa replied warmly.
Just then, Doctor Banu arrived, greeting Sanju with a smile, which Sanju returned faintly. As they sat for breakfast, Deepa's phone rang, a video call from Bala.
Sanju leapt to her feet to reach the mobile, but Deepa gently stopped her.
"Wait Sanju, let me answer, and if there is no problem, I will give it to you."
"Ok, please answer it quickly," Sanju said, barely able to contain her eagerness.
Deepa answered the call and saw Bala on the screen — Aryan stood beside him. She immediately called Sanju to her side. Aryan quickly signaled Sanju to stay silent, and she nodded, tears already welling up in her eyes.
"Mom, how are you?" Bala asked.
Aryan lifted his chin in a silent gesture, asking Sanju how she was.
"I'm fine, Bala," Deepa answered.
Sanju gave a small nod, too overwhelmed to speak.
"Do you have food on time?" Bala asked.
Aryan mimicked the question with his hands, concern etched on his face.
"No, son. I couldn't eat properly," Deepa admitted.
Sanju remained quiet but looked straight at Aryan.
"Mom, I will be happy only if you eat well," Bala said with gentle firmness.
Aryan pleaded with his eyes and motioned for her to eat.
"Ok, I will have food on time," Deepa promised.
Sanju nodded in agreement.
"What did the doctor say?" Bala continued.
"I'm fine, Bala. No problem," Deepa replied.
Banu appeared from behind and gave Aryan a thumbs up.
"Mom, I will come very soon to meet you, so don't worry," Bala assured.
Aryan held up a note that read: "Be happy and I will come to see you soon."
"Ok, don't worry, and you take care too," Deepa said.
Sanju quickly showed a paper that read: "Please take me with you. I can't be here leaving you in danger."
"Mom, I have a lot of work here, so I will be there once I'm done with everything," Bala said, masking the real context.
Aryan held up another message: "Your Aryan can handle everything. Just a few days. I will take you with me."
"If you say so," Deepa responded.
Sanju, holding back tears, showed one last paper: "I miss you and I love you."
"Ok Mom, I will call you tomorrow," Bala said.
Aryan signaled her again, mouthing "I love you."
"Ok Bala," Deepa replied.
Tears streamed down Sanju's face. Aryan gestured to wipe them away and brought his thumb and forefinger together into a smile shape, silently asking her to smile.
Sanju gave him a faint smile. Deepa disconnected the call and immediately wrapped her arms around Sanju, joined by Banu. They tried to comfort her, urging her not to cry — reminding her that her emotions could affect the baby.
Meanwhile, Aryan, who had been holding back his tears throughout the call, couldn't bear the pain any longer. He rushed to his room and finally broke down.
"I need to solve everything. I need to bring my Sanju back as soon as possible," his mind screamed.
He wiped his face, steeled himself, and stepped into the living room, immediately calling Ranjith.
"Ranjith, any information about Vivaan?" he asked.
"Sir, we traced him. I've made arrangements to bring him by our private flight."
"Good. Get him to our cell. No harsh treatments. Also, inform Naren to meet us. Choose some private place."
"Ok sir. I will do it," Ranjith confirmed.
Later that day, Aryan and Ranjith headed out to a secluded location arranged by Ranjith to meet Naren, the next step in Aryan's plan to end the chaos and bring Sanju home.
Aryan met Naren at a private location arranged by Ranjith. The air was thick with unspoken tension as the two men sat opposite each other.
"How are you, Naren?" Aryan asked, his voice calm.
"Hmm... fine. How are you and Sanju?" Naren replied with a sigh.
"We're fine. Whatever Maya is today has nothing to do with me. It is all because of her and your father," Aryan began, his tone composed but firm. "In fact, I cancelled the partnership and returned his investment money. I even asked him to send Maya out of India permanently so there would be no further problems. But just in a day, everything changed."
"I know you have nothing to do with this. I'm just worried for her," Naren said, looking down.
"Are you aware that she was pregnant?"
"What?" Naren's eyes widened in shock.
"Hmm... she was pregnant and miscarried in the accident. I know who is responsible for that—Maya's ex-lover Vivaan. Other than him, no one was around her these days. Now he's in the UK, and Ranjith has arranged to bring him back to India using my private jet."
"Why are you doing this? Hand him over to me. I will take care of him," Naren offered firmly.
"No, Naren. Your father is determined to destroy my happiness by snatching Sanju from me. I've sent her away just to keep her safe."
"What does Sanju have to do with this?" Naren frowned in confusion.
"You should ask your father that. His men are on the move, trying to locate her and bring her into his custody."
"I'm sorry," Naren said sincerely.
"We'll confront Vivaan once he lands here, and I want you to be with me then."
"Let me know. I'll come," Naren nodded.
"Thanks for understanding me. I can arrange a doctor to treat Maya if you agree."
"Let me speak to the doctors currently treating her. Then I'll make a call," Naren replied.
Aryan stood and hugged Naren tightly before they both left the place.
Later, Aryan returned to ARC Towers and was in his cabin when Pavithra and Keerthy arrived.
"Bro, how is Sanju? Did you speak to her?" Pavithra asked eagerly.
"No, Pavithra. I haven't spoken to her, but she would be fine," Aryan said, trying to assure her.
"Sorry, bro. I hope everything will be fine soon," Keerthy said softly.
"Hmm. I too pray for all this mess to end soon. You both don't worry, I'll take care," Aryan assured them.
After they left, Ranjith came in to meet him.
"Sir, what is our next plan?" he asked.
"Did you get any information on Chandrasekar's underground cell?"
"We have almost finished searching all his places. So far, no information. Only his residence and office are left, which are heavily secured all the time."
"In that case, only Naren can help us. I'll speak to him again when we meet next," Aryan said thoughtfully.
"How do we handle Chandrasekar?"
"Maya has to wake up and Vivaan has to surrender to Chandrasekar. Vivaan's matter can be handled easily. Maya waking up is the main issue now."
"That doesn't seem to happen immediately."
"Hmm. We need to find a trap for Chandrasekar to get him cleared from our path."
"So far, we have all information about him, but nothing we can use as a trap."
"Other than his underground cell, no other place can give us that leverage. So we need to wait until Naren agrees to help us."
"I'm sure he will agree to help us," Ranjith said with conviction.
"Chandrasekar's home isn't easy to enter for any random person. Even Naren might not know about any hidden places under his father's control."
"How about Rajesh?"
"He's like you and won't give up so easily to help us. Still, if you want to give it a try, go ahead and do it your way."
"Thank you, sir. I'll do it."
"When is Vivaan landing here?"
"Tomorrow, sir."
"Take him directly to our cell," Aryan instructed.
Meanwhile, at the safe house, Sanju lay on the bed, lost in thoughts of Aryan. Doctor Banu entered the room and gently caressed her hair with a soft smile.
"Sanju, would you like to go for a walk around the garden?" she asked.
"Sure, Banu," Sanju replied softly.
They walked out into the serene garden. Banu guided her to the swing and gently pushed it as Sanju sat down. The cool breeze blew against her face, bringing a sense of calm. The scent of flowers filled the air, and her memories drifted back to their beach house. She remembered how she admired each flower, while Aryan clicked photos of her holding them, always refusing to pluck them as she believed in cherishing their beauty on the plant itself.
Her daydream broke as Banu spoke.
"Sanju, do you know the baby can listen to your words and also feel your emotions? If you cry, the baby will cry too. And if you are happy, it makes the baby happiest."
"Is it?" Sanju asked, a spark of curiosity lighting her tired eyes.
"Yes. You need to talk to your baby and keep your mind free from stress. Your baby starts learning even before being born."
"Thank you, Banu. I will surely follow what you said. Our baby needs to know about their father's love... and how much he misses us," Sanju whispered, gently caressing her bump.
Banu smiled and held Sanju's hands as they walked back inside together. In Banu's presence, Sanju felt a comforting sisterly bond that made her feel a little less alone.
