Chapter 7

Recap: Sanjana joins ARC business

*********

That evening, Sanjana stepped out of the office, ready to head home. As she walked towards the parking lot, she spotted Pavi starting her scooty, while Daniel and Vinay stood nearby, chatting.

"Sanju, where do you stay?" Pavi asked casually.

Sanjana hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to say. Before she could respond, Daniel smirked and said, "Sanjana, she just asked for your residence. Why are you hesitating?"

"I stay nearby. Just twenty minutes away," she finally answered.

"Oh, okay. Which area?" Daniel pressed further but Pavithra understood Sanju's hesitance and tried to help her so she stepped forward. "Sanju, it's getting late. Aren't you leaving?" Pavi intervened.

Daniel frowned. "Pavi, let me speak to her."

"Dany, she'll get stuck in traffic. Let her go," Pavi insisted.

Sanjana smiled gratefully. "Thanks, Pavi. Bye." Without waiting for more questions, she got into her car and drove off.

As soon as she left, Vinay nudged Daniel with a knowing look. "Dany, you seem pretty impressed with her."

"Why not? She's amazingly beautiful," Daniel admitted with a grin his eyes still fixed on the way Sanju left.

"Just remember, she's Aryan's PA," Vinay warned.

Daniel shrugged. "That dumbhead doesn't look at any girls anyway. What's wrong if I get her?"

"She doesn't seem that easygoing." Vinay tried to warn him again but Daniel smirked. "I'll take care of that."

Sanjana reached home and went straight to freshen up. After changing into a comfortable dress, she came downstairs for dinner.

"Kousalya Mom, I'm starving," she called out.

"Coming, Sanju. How was your first day?" Kousalya asked, setting the plates.

"It was okay, not bad." Sanju settling onto one of chairs ready to have food.

"Good. Finish your food and get some rest. Oh, and Sanju, Sir sent a lot of dresses for you. I've arranged them in your closet." Kowsalya said and Sanjana paused mid-bite. "Dresses? For me?"

"Yes, now that you'll be going to the office regularly, he arranged everything for you."

After dinner, she went to her room and opened the closet. Her eyes widened at the sight of the exclusive branded dresses neatly arranged. Matching accessories filled the drawers, all looking incredibly expensive. As she stood there in shock, she heard the sound of a car entering the driveway. Peeking through the window, she saw Aryan getting out.

She knew he would come to her room before heading to his. Sitting on the couch, she picked up a book, pretending to read.

As expected, Aryan walked in after his dinner.

"Aren't you asleep yet?" he asked, leaning against the doorframe.

Sanjana closed the book. "Why did you buy such expensive clothes for me?"

Aryan crossed his arms. "Don't you need them for office? Or do you plan to go without them? If that's the case, you'll have to stay in this room. And only with me."

She gasped. "You idiot! Get lost. Your words are as dirty as your mind."

He smirked. "I was talking about your usual nightwear. What's dirty in that? Oh..." He tilted his head mockingly. "Now I get it. You have a dirty mind. Don't blame me for it."

"Mr. Chaitanya, can you please leave?" she huffed.

Aryan placed a strip of tablets in front of her. "I'll leave once you have these."

Rolling her eyes, she took the tablets. Satisfied, Aryan turned to leave.

"Good night, baby," he teased.

"I'm not your baby." Sanju spoke gritting her teeth.

"Even if we have a baby, you'll still be my baby, sweetheart." Aryan waid with a wink and Sanju screamed at him, "Nonsense! Just get lost."

The next day at the office, Sanjana was busy when she received a call from Aryan.

"Yes, Aryan?"

"Sanjana, ask Ms. Manasi to get the finance file for the ongoing constructions. I need the precise data." Aryan said and immediately Sanjana called Manasi. "Manasi, can you send me the finance file for ongoing constructions?"

"What happened?" Manasi asked.

"Sir needs the data." Sanju said trying to be polite but Manasi being the over confident cut her immediately. "I'll take care of it and inform Aryan."

Sanju rolled her eyes  "No, he wants me to do it." she said trying to make it clear that it was her job.

"It's fine. I'll speak to him. Don't worry, I can handle Aryan." Manasi was stubborn and Sanjana frowned. She speaks as if she owns Aryan. Always boasting... Aryan, Aryan, Aryan. Why do I even care?

"Okay, Manasi. Get it quickly."  Sanju cut the call returning to her work.

Inside Aryan's cabin, he smirked to himself. She'll come now. Don't overact and spoil it. Just coax her into having lunch with you.

A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. His face lit up for a second before he quickly composed himself.

"Come in." Aryan said waiting to meet her.

Manasi walked in. "Hello, sir."

Aryan's expression darkened. Damn it. Why is she here? he thought to himself.

"Yes, Ms. Manasi?" he spoke dismissvely.

"Sir, you wanted the construction file data, so I brought it." Manasi said but Aryan frowned on hearing her words. "I didn't ask you."

"Sanjana told me you needed it." Manasi tried to play her game.

Aryan grit his teeth. "Where is she?"

"Looks like she left for lunch." Manasi said trying to push Sanju on a bad book.

Aryan clenched his jaw. "Leave the file and go."

"Sir, anything else I can help with?" she asked sweetly.

"Send Ranjith inside."

Manasi's face fell. What the hell? Is he playing dumb? Frustrated, she left the cabin.

Moments later, Ranjith entered.  "Sir you need something ?"

"Where is Sanjana?" Aryan asked him instantly.

"Sir, she's in the cafeteria, having lunch." Ranjith said trying to understand what happened.

"Call her immediately." Aryan ordered and Ranjith called Sanjana. "Sanjana, can you come to the boss's cabin?"

"Can I finish my lunch first?" Sanju insisted but Ranjith cut her . "It's urgent."

Sighing, she put her half-eaten meal away and stood up.

"Sanju, what happened?" Pavi asked.

"Boss is calling. Urgent, it seems." Sanju said leaving from there.

Daniel scoffed. "Idiot. Can't he at least let her eat?"

Sanjana walked into Aryan's cabin. Ranjith was still inside.

"Ranjith, you may leave," Aryan ordered.

Once they were alone, he crossed his arms. "Where did you go?"

"For lunch." Sanju said nonchalantly

"You should've informed me before leaving." Aryan said trying to be calm.

"Manasi was with you. I thought she'd take time discussing the data." Sanju said and Aryan looked at her shocked. "I asked you to get it. Why did you send her?"

"I didn't. She insisted." Sanju tried to make it clear but Aryan rolled his eyes. "And you let her? Even after knowing her motives?"

"Why would I stop her?" Sanju said and Aryan smirked. "Yes, don't stop her. In fact, don't stop anyone. Many in this office would love to have me. Who wouldn't fall for a man like me?"

She rolled her eyes. "Who would fall for you? Go to hell, Aryan."

He chuckled. "Don't wish for hell. Remember, you'll stay with me wherever I go."

"Are you done boasting? Can I leave?" Sanju asked him her hands folded to her chest.

"Tell me honestly. Am I not handsome and hot for you?" Aryan asked winking at her.

She shot him a death glare and stormed out.

Back at her desk, Sanjana was fuming. That idiot didn't even let me eat. And Manasi! Playing double games? I'll deal with her.

Ranjith entered, placing a box in front of her. " Sanjana, here have this "

"Thanks, bro. I was starving." Sanju said feeling grateful to look at the food.

She opened it to find hot mushroom biryani and started to gulp.

"Eat slowly. Here's water." Ranjith placing a bottle of water before her.

"Thanks, but where did you get this?" Sanju asked  and Ranjith smiled. "Sir sent it for you."

Her eyes widened. "What ? "
