Two months had passed since the war had ended, but the sorrow still remained. 
A man named Jonathan Mcloughlin was charged with bringing home the soldier's personal effects (pictures, letters, etc) for the families who couldn't even give them a proper burial.  While he was wandering the trenches, he came across a mirror and a gun.  He decided to leave them there.  They probably weren't that important, anyway.
