just so you guys know some of the scenes in this chapter have been mixed up on purpose, obviously but I needed to change the order in which these scenes play out in to make this chapter makes sense. I hope you enjoy.

The narrator's point of view

Debbie was not happy that her son Mark had not returned home in a couple of days. She assumed it was because he was celebrating with his friends about graduation. While she didn't like the idea of her son disappearing for days on end she wasn't against it that was until she tried calling him only to get transferred to voicemail almost immediately repeatedly

She didn't know where her son was or what he was doing What she didn't realise is that Cecil must have known she knew about him spying in her house. She was well aware of that and she also knew that Cecil was the type of man who would survey her son for... Obvious reasons

She didn't like the fact that her son was being spied on, but she needed to know where Mark was

So she pretty much demanded as she walked into the pentagon to see Cecil and knowing that Debbie wouldn't take no for an answer, Cecil complied

They met in the main area of the global defence agency. No one was around. Everyone was always busy.

Cecil is trying to be nice: Debbie what a lovely surprise What can I do for

Debbie interrupted: Don't give me that Cecil Where is Mark?

Cecil, who was confused: What do you mean?

Debbie's eyebrows crossed, clearly not in the mood: Mark has not been home for days and I haven't been able to contact him. Where is he?! Is he working for you now? Where is he?

Cecil: Debbie I understand that you might think that but Mark isn't working for me... He's working for izuku maybe he's with him

Debbie's expression immediately calmed down whilst she didn't completely trust Cecil he didn't seem like he was lying about this

The mother of the most powerful being on the planet: are you sure?

Cecil: yes Mark had no interest in coming to work for me. He was more interested in working alongside his friend... Although izuku partially follow my orders, but currently he is not

Debbie: so where are they?

Cecil shrugged: I'm not sure currently we're still trying to make sure our system is hack proof after the incident we're already swamped with trying to make sure all of our secrets are... Well remaining secret as well as trying to figure out what we're going to be doing with a bunch of the same guy from different universes

Debbie: so you really don't know where they are

Cecil: I wish I did but whatever they're doing, they're not doing it under my orders even if I try to order Mark he wouldn't listen or he would just go straight to izuku and see what he thought about them first I'll give him one thing the kid loyal

Debbie was getting angry with what Cecil was insinuating not just for Mark but for izuku as well: Cecil they children not soldiers... you can't just order them around!

Cecil: at least they both follow orders

there was a brief moment of silence as Debbie looked at Cecil shocked, the director of the global defence agency: Debbie I didn't mean

She turned away her angry expression once again formed on her face: how dare you think that after everything Mark went through?! and what about izuku Didn't you say you would try to get him home... It's been nearly a year have you made any progress in that? Or are you just Didn't you say you would try to get him home... It's been nearly a year have you made any progress in that or don't you wanna let go of a good soldier?!

The director of the global defence agency: Debbie I don't have a choice you heard what the monitor said mark in this timeline isn't supposed to be good. The only reason he is is because you opened your door to a young man from another universe that stopped him from becoming that person

Debbie offended: and watch you think Mark would go back to that go back to what he was supposedly meant to be how can you say that after everything he's done everything he's been through to try and proved to himself he was horrified by what them wanted to show him!

The older man nodded: I know that, but you have to understand. I have to take precautions given the circumstances every other version of Mark other than one is evil and Mark is the only one who managed to actually change his fate I have to take precautions if I don't then...according to the Angstrom's from the other universes it will not end well for any of us including you, Debbie

Debbie: what are you talking about?

Cecil took a deep breath: according to what they have said in most universes when Mark goes bad, he kills you

The mother not believing it for a minute turned away,: no Mark wouldn't not do that not ever not in any timeline I don't believe you

Trying to convince her otherwise Cecil tried a different tactic

Cecil trying to calm the situation: Debbie this whole situation has become much more complicated than just the rest of Nolan's people showing up on our doorstep and trying to enslave us there's something else the monitor said about supposed army of darkness we verified that to be true

Debbie turned around again, not angry anymore, but she wasn't calm. There was more nervousness in our expression: really?

Cecil let out a sigh knowing that the only way he was gonna get out of this is by leaking some less than cleared information: we're keeping this under wraps but during a recent incident with portals to another world we received a present... The bodies of an invincible and Omni man from a different universe

The angry woman now completely gone turned around completely looking shocked and disbelief: what?

The head of the global defence agency nodded: yes we've had people examine the bodies. It's definitely not the Nolan we know his organs are all reversed... Although it was hard to identify him he'd look like he had been ripped apart and as for the invincible of that universe... It appeared that all of his insides had been exploded and then someone coughed a smile on his face and left a plane card made out of metal in his mouth

Debbie shocked: who... Who would do something like that?

Cecil: we have no idea all we know is whoever it is they're strong they're smart and their sadistic from what we gathered that variant of Mark was alive when his body exploded from the inside

there was another moment of silence. You could hear a pen drop if there was anyone else in the room but there wasn't it was clear that Cecil didn't trust Mark not completely and as much as Debbie hated to admit it he had reason to her son was the only one out of two other version of himself that didn't turn bad

so as much as he hated to admit it, the odds were not stacked in Mark's favour

Debbie letting out a deep sigh : okay but it still doesn't answer my question where is my son?

Cecil : like I said I have no idea, but if he's with izuku it could mean that he's looking into something during their Angstrom incident apparently portal to other worlds may have opened up allowing others to drop in izuku said he would look into it

Debbie : and you think that's where they are looking into these... Visitors?

Cecil shrugged : I'm not sure then again izuku did also mention about some extreme training for Mark although he didn't really clarify on what that actually was

Debbie : and you think that's where they're going for this extreme training... I'm not sure I feel comfortable with Mark-

Cecil interrupted: i'm sure it's fine, Debbie he said it was training what kind of life or death situations could he possibly be going through during training?

meanwhile near the Grand Canyon

The hero known as invincible a.k.a. Mark Grayson was flying through the air close to the ground. It looked like a peaceful test flight until the giant rock came like a guided missile almost crushing him

he managed to dodge but only barely the gravity increased bracelets were making it hard for them to move. He looked behind him to see a literal mountain chasing him

gigantomachia the former bodyguard of the self proclaimed Demon Lord was chasing after him with all his fury sometimes the ring rocks or managing to catch Mark and throw him into the ground like a doll

Mark in a panic: he's trying to kill me!

he screamed as he passed the people watching him over a nice egging conditioned tent twice and gentle along with La brava

twice who had sunglasses on over his mask: yeah he's totally trying to kill you... Now he's not he's just playing

gentle looking out at the battlefield: they've been at this for days and Marcus not come any closer to beating the giant perhaps we should remove the gravity bracelets perhaps then he have a better chance

La brava on a computer: i'm sorry my darling, but if we did that then it would take away more of the challenge right now Mark is struggling against gigantomachia if we removed those strains, he would still struggle but it would be less

Twice: yeah let's not forget that this is about improving and the harder the struggle the greater the outcome besides he's fine... No he's totally gonna die

even though that was the other twice talking it might've been true. Mark had been doing this for days. He never thought he would feel exhausted again not after he got his powers.

it was because of the gravity bracelets they had increased the gravity around simply put it felt like he was carrying around weight while he flew through the air and punched

this made it that much harder to fight gigantomachia as a matter of fact Mark felt like he was about to pass out he had been going non-stop for days only getting three hour breaks

it started out OK and Mark was ready and prepared or at least he thought he did after the first three days he was beginning to regret agreeing to this intense training. The only reason why he hadn't quit because he knew how disappointed Izuku would be in him and the thought of fighting his father again kept him going. He needed to be stronger He knew this so we kept going

what Mark didn't know is that this wasn't just training for him? It was training for gigantomachia wow the behemoth was strong stronger than most. It was clear that he stood no chance against any member of empire.

so izuku set this whole thing up so it would both train his best friend and the loyal bodyguard so that the both of them would be ready when the empire return

Unfortunately, that was a long way to go for both of them. Mark tried to punch the behemoth only for his punch to be grabbed by his giant hands and for Mark to be thrown into the ground.

gigantomachia: not good enough... Not nearly good enough!

The behemoth got ready for another punch but gentle called out: alright I think that's enough... Calm down gigantomachia

The giant stopped me attack just before he hit Mark into the ground

Twice came over to the creator and slid down he tilted his sunglasses looking at invincible:so kid... How are you feeling?

Mark, who was bruised and and slightly bleeding through his torn superhero costume was breathing heavily from exhaustion: like I just got hit by a truck... and I feel like I'm gonna die

twice: I see he's okay... Nope, he's dead!

20 minutes later

inside the tent, Mark was receiving medical attention, mainly just ice packs and some water

Mark: I didn't even get anywhere close to him my punches didn't even phase him

Gentle: well young man, it is important to remember that you're still wearing those restraints this training exercise was designed to be unfair to test you

Twice: yeah besides you lasted a lot longer than you had done the last couple of times

it was true, Mark and gigantomachia and Walmart was strong and they got some small victories. It was the behemoth that claimed victory and most of their practice battles.

The first time around Mark lasted roughly 10 minutes before gigantomachia punched him so hard that he passed out and after he woke up, they tried again only for him to get smashed by some rocks again

another time gigantomachia grabbed Mark by the leg and swung him into the ground repeatedly sort of like this

Mark: yeah I know, but let's face it. I'm not getting any stronger. He keeps beating me.

The hacker came over with her computer: look on the bright side you've definitely gotten faster in the past couple days. You even managed to catch up to your regular speed with the restraints on.

Mark's face immediately brightened up as he looked at her data: really? Are you serious?

La brava: yep you've definitely gotten faster and judging by your muscle definition you've definitely got stronger too... But they're still a long way to go

Mark feeling more encouraged now: but then what are we waiting for? Let's get back to it.

Twice stopped his young friend from going: whoa whoa let's take a chill pill here... Look at yourself you're beaten your bruised and you're bleeding let's take a break

stumbling Mark insists : come on, I can go a couple more rounds with him

gigantomachia: no more fighting today... Still too weak even weak now

twice : well you heard the big guy he ain't fighting you... So let's get you somewhere where we can fix this? I don't think your mother like this

He gesture to all of Mark: I mean no offence, but you look like shit

Mark slightly offended: I don't look that bad

Twice: yeah had a break dickhead but you really do look like shit... No you look great sorry but seriously yeah you shouldn't push yourself too much. Last thing we need is for you to die of exhaustion besides don't you wanna test out what your new speed is? Like? The little one said you're about as fast as you were without the weights before imagine how fast you are without them now.

even though he still wanted to keep going, Mark agreed so the team packed up there gear and got ready to leave. There was only one thing that Mark wasn't sure about.

Mark: how exactly are we going to get back? I mean we all just gonna get on gigantomachia and ride him all the way back... Wow that sounds really weird when I say that out loud

gentle: no we'll just use the teleporter

Mark confused: wait Cecil, let's you use the teleporter

la brava: no of course not izuku made his own there's nothing to worry about... Course we will the first one testing it

Mark: are we sure that's safe?

Twice: of course it is safe... Just don't hold your breath or your lungs will collapse

Mark's eyes widen: wait what?!

he didn't have time to react before twice grabbed his shoulder and then a blink of an eye they were gone

meanwhile at the Guardians of the Globe base

The guardians were practically crawling into their base exhausted and beaten not from a fight but from one of lady nagant training sessions

They had been getting more and more severe than the guardians even the immortal was exhausted and in some cases pacifically Rex he was bleeding

Robot fell right out of his suit and collapsed on the ground breathing heavily. Kate needed someone to support her as she was too exhausted to walk by herself

Monster girl helped up Rudy who was struggling to walk meanwhile bulletproof seemed perfectly fine compared to the other guardians

Rex grumbling: that's it... I quit you're crazy people try to kill me every single day I don't need that shit at home! those robots were trying to kill us. What the hell were you thinking?!

lady nagant: I was thinking that maybe the great Guardian of the globe could handle what UA students have to do

Kate, who was also exhausted: are you shitting me? They do that to students halfway through I thought I was going to die. I did die like 20 times!

lady nagant: well if you did better you wouldn't die so much also how did you die? I made sure that the robots wouldn't hurt you guys severely... So if you die 20 times that's kind of on you Kate.

all of the guardians stopped they were beaten bruised and tired and furthermore they were tired of taking orders from a former assassin

Rex: oh, I'm sorry that we couldn't keep up with Mr. Superhero of the year!

lady nagant: what are you talking about?... I wasn't trying to compare you to izuku

Rex: but you just said-!

lady nagant: I never said that I was comparing you to him. I just put you through the entrance exam for UA... Which by the way you all would've failed you got nowhere near the amount of points needed

Monster girl: but how I took on the giant robot, it's gotta be worth more points than most

lady nagant: that was a zero pointer you wouldn't have gotten anything if you beat it

Shrink: why was the biggest one there? That should've been at least worth 100 points.

lady nagant: simple the lesson is to try and avoid that one. It's important to save lives and beat up villains but it's also good to know when you're outmatched and when you need to retreat to get reinforcements or to get another hero that is better suited for the situation

bulletproof: so what we're just supposed to let people die while we run away and hide

lady nagant: no I'm saying that you need to know when you're outmatched and need to work together as a team which by the way none of you did... Rex was too busy trying to show off, bulletproof. I know you weren't really trying monster girl and robot you worked well together but you two are just... You're not enough Kate you were doing what I can only assume was some sort of ballet mix with gymnastics you weren't doing anything shrink you did all right, but you need to be faster and Sampson... You need to stop relying so much on your powers and finally immortal I get that you're angry but you need to control your anger. You're letting it cloud your judgement.

Rex infuriated: what the hell do you know you bitch?!

Monster girl: whoa whoa Rex too far

Rex in all his arrogance stormed towards the former hero/assassin and pointed directly at her: why are we even putting up with her? She's an assassin she kill people!

lady nagant: that's very ironic coming from you Rex as far as I know won't you an assassin as well working for someone who claimed to be a government agent

Rex tightened his jaw: that was different. I was tricked you killed people while playing superhero how much of a payout did you get? Every time you killed? Someone? Was it worth betraying? Apparently everything you believe in?

lady nagant: I didn't get paid. I was following orders from the heroes Association... Oh don't look so surprised. Did you really think that our world was so sunshine and rainbows? Hate to tell you this but there is a dark side to having an over population of heroes who are basically celebrities which means you gotta clean up the mess but sometimes... You can't let the public know about the mess

The room was silent. They knew that the new trainer was an assassin but they thought that she was moonlighting as an assassin whilst being a hero. They didn't think that she was being an assassin under the orders of the people that were in charge of the heroes.

lady nagant: and by the way Rex I got a bit of advice for you if you wanna be a hero... Like an actual hero you need to stop all of this

she gesture to all of rex he looked down at himself trying to find something that she would be pointing out, but there was nothing but himself

Rex:

lady nagant:

Rex: 0h I see what this is

The former assassin crossed her arms clearly not believing that Rex understood any of it: oh really?

Rex: yeah you think you can keep all this raw energy contained... There will be consequences!

lady nagant: i'll take my chances... All of you go shower up and then we're doing this thing again

she walked away the guardians just nodded as they made their way to the show however Rex still wasn't done

Rex: we just stopped Sampson from being that guy now we've got you

lady nagant stopped and turned her head slightly: you're right i've got that kind of attitude and yeah, it's a pain, but he is a newsflash for your Rex sometimes someone has to be that fucking guy

Rex greeted his teeth: fuck you

lady nagant: and you wonder why Eve didn't give you a second chance actually I'm wondering why any girl would give you a chance at all maybe you should think about that

Greeting his teeth once again Rex was so close to trying and throwing one of his explosive energy bombs the way of the former assassin but he didn't. He knew he would get in trouble. He just stomped off to the showers.

unaware that he was currently being watched from the ceiling someone had snuck in to the guardians base and he looked down at Rex

The figure licked his lips: unworthy

stain the hero killer that snuck into the guardians base without raising an alarm he was watching the guardians train and he was greatly disappointed in what apparently was supposed to be the greatest superhero team on the planet

Stain : I will judge them but not today... First I must find the success to all might and make sure that he is still worthy then after that... I'm coming for them and explode is the first on my list

speaking of the successor of all might he and his girlfriend were currently flying over the reconstruction of Chicago however they weren't on patrol they were looking for someone

they stopped by the community centre that was currently feeding many homeless people showing a picture around

Nikki, a little girl who was under the care of Martian man, Eve didn't know why they were looking for this little girl but izuku did he agreed to help the guardians locate their loved ones and since Nikki was the youngest as well as not having anyone else other than Martian man? The guardians agreed that she should come first

so the young hero set out to find this young girl at first he tried the places where Martian man claimed that Nikki lived, but unfortunately the abandoned building was destroyed when all one for attacked Chicago however nobody bodies were brought out from that building so there was a chance that Nikki was still alive

That's when they started searching the community centres trying to find anyone who has seen Nikki but so far there was no such luck they went back on patrol keeping an eye out for anyone who matched Nikki's description

Izuku: she's gotta be out here somewhere

martian man appeared behind him as they flew through the air: I know Nikki very well if the place she inhabited was destroyed she would go looking for a new place

Izuku whispering so that Eve wouldn't hear him: are you sure she is even alive? I mean after what happened with Chicago there's a chance she'll be-

martian man: no I know Nikki she's a survivor. She's still alive out there.

The young hero noted acknowledging that Martian man knew this little girl Best so he just kept up the search of course his girlfriend was still slightly confused why they were doing this in the first place

Eve: okay not that I don't love the idea of trying to find a lost child because it's a nice change of pace for us but why exactly are we looking for her pacifically? There are tons of missing people in Chicago after the attack why are you so fixated on finding Nikki?

Izuku: I just feel responsible okay? She was very close to Martian man and now with him gone... I don't know I just don't like the idea of that kid being out here especially now all alone

Eve could tell that there was more to it than that: okay? Izuku I love your heroic side I really do but I know there's more to it than this. Please tell me.

He stopped flying as he processed her words he knew he was going to have to tell her but he still felt concerned that wasn't until his grandmother showed up in her ghostly form: you've got to tell her she deserves to know

Izuku nod as the ghost disappeared and he turned back to his girlfriend: okay I'll tell you can we go somewhere to talk when there's not many people around?

Eve nod as she flew down to a rooftop of a building that was a few feet in the air no one was on the roof and no one was around the building. It was the perfect place for them to talk.

The redheaded superhero crossed her arms not in disappointment but in silent patience: right now please tell me what is going on

Izuku landed beside her and gently grabbed her hand: OK but before I tell you this I just want you to know that... I love you and I never meant to lie to you or to keep things from you I just... I didn't know how to tell you and I just hope that when I tell you this, you won't look at me differently because it's-

Eve interrupted him as she placed a finger on his lips: shush, okay? I know you're nervous I can tell because you're sweating through your suit and you're shaking but whatever it is it won't change the way I look at you I love you izuku Midoriya but our relationship cannot continue with secrets please tell me

Izuku gap he loved to eat more than anything in the world the idea of losing her for any reason scared him more than any villain ever could

so with all the confidence he had left, he let out a sigh: OK but you have to promise me that what I'm about to tell you you are not allowed to tell anyone else not your friends not your family not even Cecil. I'm going to tell Mark soon but I wanted you to know first.

Eve: okay cross my heart I hope you die I will never tell anyone I promise now please tell me you're starting to scare me

Feeling an immense weight about to be lifted, young hero spoke slow slowly, his voice shaken: OK if the truth is that I'm-

and that is it for this chapter yes I am leaving it a cliffhanger and yes I know that's cruel and that's how I like it sometimes keeps you guys coming back for more?
