Eve point of view

Knowing izuku he's probably at his workshop, a.k.a. my former base I need to talk to him about what happened in Africa we need to talk about it before it gets too awkward. Assuming that it already hasn't.

So I fly over there and went into the base and I wasn't surprised to see him still working on that new element project he's been trying to do

Izuku noticed that I'm here as well as the fact that I'm upset: eve hi... Wait what's wrong?

I don't need to talk about that right now: it's nothing important... It's just my parents. I've told you how they are have I?

He nods: yes you have... Do you want me to have a talk with them? 

I almost laugh about how silly that sounds, but it's also really sweet: no it's fine... Really? You wanted to talk to them what would you do?

He shrugged: I don't know to be honest although I've seen my godmother intimidating men even her own husband, maybe I could take a page from her book trust me nobody can stand up to her... She is terrified when she's angry thankfully she was never angry at her godson

I chuckle a little bit: you didn't tell me you had a godmother

Izuku: it's not something that comes up in conversation plus if I'm being honest I see her that often her and my mom were close when they grew up and well you know she became my godmother and my mother became her son's godmother. It was kind of a whole thing.

I suppose it is kind of what happens in some cases: so you didn't have like an uncle or aunt it was just you and your mum

Izuku still working:... Kind of apparently I had an uncle but my mom and him had a falling out years before I was even born I don't know what it was about. Mum never talked about it but what I do know is it was pretty bad so bad that mom and I didn't even go to his funeral not for a lack of trying it's just that in his will hear one of his dying wishes is that my mom wasn't allowed to pay her respects

Sheesh, and I thought my family was difficult: seriously... Well that takes taking a grudge to the grave to a whole new level so you really have no idea what they're falling out was about

Izuku: all I know is it's got something to do with my grandparents... But that's about as much information I got for my mother she just doesn't like to talk about it and I don't push

That actually makes me wonder izuku said that his mother isn't exactly thrilled about him being a superhero yet he seems to be in a better relationship with her than my parents. Why is that?

I decided to ask, I sit down on the table across from him as he continues to work: can I ask you something... You and your mom? Your mom doesn't like the fact that you're a superhero right?

He nod: yeah she thinks it's too dangerous and to be honest I don't disagree with her

Well, yeah, saying that being a hero isn't dangerous is like saying playing with fire isn't dangerous: yeah I get that it's just... Even though she doesn't like it she still supports you I just I don't understand how is it that the two of you can disagree on something so instrumental and still get along the way you do

Izuku stopped working on his project and turns to me: truthfully... It's not easy there's a lot of history with me and my mom and most of it isn't good... She wasn't cruel or anything it's just well... For the majority of my life she was working double shifts at a hospital so she wasn't around a lot she was there for birthday and Christmas and all that it's just... She wasn't there for me after I had a bad day at school or when I really needed cheering up, I think her supporting me now is her way of trying to atone for what happened but it's not her fault and I don't hate her. She was doing what she needed to do to keep us afloat, especially after my dad left us.

I guess that makes sense and I shouldn't compare my situation with his. It's completely different. He has a mother that loves and even though she doesn't agree with his choices she still tries to support him my parents... Well I think they love me but I'm just a big disappointment to them

I fight through my pain and smile: I know this is a bit of a longshot but if I ever get the chance, can I meet your mum? She sounds really nice.

Izuku: yeah she would love you... But I have to warn you if I bring a girl home she's gonna get... Emotional

I smile as I already know how that would go: let me guess the whole my little boy is growing up so fast

Izuku chuckles: yeah and I'm not making this up but literal bucket loads of tears

Want to laugh, but I'm not sure if he's actually joking: I wish my parents were like yours... Like your mom pacifically tell them I'm just one big disappointment that doesn't want to live the way they expect me to they want me to give up the superhero crap get back together with Rex and start pumping out grandchildren for them once I leave college that's literally what they want they don't say it but it's pretty obvious

He raised an eyebrow: hold on they want to get back together with Rex. You did tell them that he cheated on you right?

Yeah, and here's what they said: yep and guess what? My dad said. I should forgive him that all guys make mistakes.

Izuku: yeah... I don't know how to respond to that also and I don't mean any disrespect but I've read in psychology books that when people make an excuse for someone else it usually means that they've-

I interrupted him because I know exactly where this is going: they've done the exact same thing yeah I read about it too... he'll never admit it but it's possible

Izuku: you don't seem torn up about that

I shrugged: like I said it wouldn't surprise me and honestly there's no love loss between me and my dad you know he's not my real biological father right?

Izuku: yeah but still they raised you

I wouldn't say they raised I would say that they tolerated me: yeah well that's not the word I would use...

We go back into the awkward silence that followed again. He went back to work on his project and I just sat there watching him for a solid five minutes.

Until finally, I found the courage to ask: are we really can't get to talk about what happened between us in Africa?

he stopped working again and dropped his equipment as his face went red: you mean about the?-

It's gonna take him forever to say it, so I just do it: yes we kissed are we not gonna talk about that?

Izuku: well... I just thought that we both agreed that it was... You know a mistake we were tired exhausted... Among other things and-

yeah, this is getting nowhere first I'm just gonna be direct: do you like me izuku?

he blushes again: well, of course I do not like you you're my friend

I crossed my arms: you know that's not what I meant... Do you love me izuku please answer honestly

He takes a deep breath and his facial expressions seem to have calmed down:... Yes I do... I do love you eve but... It could never work out between us

I feel my heart get pulled out of my chest: wait what do you mean? It could never work out between us?! why not?

Izuku standing up and turning his back to me as he walks away but stopping: because you deserve more than me

my eyes widen in shock: what do you think? I deserve better than you? Izuku you are the sweetest kindest people I've ever met you're strong you're smart and you don't let it get to your head. You're a great person. How could you possibly think-

Izuku interrupted me for the first time: because I'm a hero with a deathwish

I look at him confused: what?

Izuku: I'm a hero with a deathwish... I don't value my own life whatsoever eve I'm basically suicidal if I see someone in danger I would jump head first into helping them even if it meant costing my own life just to save one person I would do it and it wouldn't matter who the person is whether it was a child or an 80-year-old man with 1 foot in the grave, I would still save them... I can't put myself above anyone else's life and you deserve more than someone who was just going to get himself killed one day

I don't believe that I don't believe it for a second: izuku you're not suicidal your heroic there's a difference between taking your life and risking it. You're not living with a deathwish you're not...

Izuku: suicidal... That's a thing eve I am

I didn't say I didn't know how to respond I'm not even sure I could process or if I heard what I thought I heard did izuku say that he was... Suicidal?

Before I question him about it, he got a phone call and his eyes widen: yeah hold on I'll be there in a minute... I know that things are awkward and difficult between us right now but I could really use your help. The guardians are in danger and it's a threat from my world

downtown 20 minutes ago Rex's point of view

oh hell yeah, that was a piece of goddamn cake taking on the lizard league I mean sure most of them got away but we got lizard king or king lizard whatever is called and we got to kick some ass and show off that way the new guardian of the globe I wouldn't say that's too bad take that Deku

Robot: the majority of the lizard league managed to escape but with their commander now in custody they are most likely going to be less active than usual

yeah, I could tell you that you metal head: alright let's leave the cleanup to Cecil and let's get the hell out of here. I'm in the mood for some drinks.

Kate: I don't know Rex maybe we should try looking for more members of the lizard lake the more we get in prison the better

Now it won't matter there are nothing and they're gonna be even less without their leader now: oh come on relax it was the lizard league... The lizard league the joke of villains

The powerless old man wearing a suit made out of batteries came up to me: Kate's right we should-

The old man stops talking and the normal circumstances I would think that was a blessing from God but I know why he stopped the ground started to shake at first. I thought it was an earthquake but no, it was something else. I look up and there's smoke coming from nearby buildings and blue flames coming out of the ground and with those flames come creatures straight out of hell.

(just ignore the wing nomu and the heroes and just imagine the flames are blue instead of red and orange)

what the hell are those things that the legit league bring back up? Yeah, that must be it. This is some sort of weird experiment that they did whatever it still just lizard leg piece of cake

I charge up energy in my weapons and throw it at the monsters and I hear them scream as I smile they may look intimidating as hell but they're nothing but-

I stop when I see it the monsters they don't even have a scratch on them. My explosions did nothing. They just turned their head to our direction.

Shrink: I don't think that was a good idea, Rex

Monster girls charging for the big muscular one with no eyes: nobody he's got the right idea. These guys are clearly trouble. We need to take them-

she was interrupted as the big muscular one just punched her once and threw her back into a building, forcing her to transform back into a human form

robot screaming: monster girl no!

he unleashes a charge beam at the giant but it does nothing. His muscles just heal back and the one with the tools for hands comes to charging slicing his robot body into pieces the rest of us retreat back. Kate starts making copies, but then something drops from the sky crushing the two that she's already made and it's another one of those monsters

she continues to try to make more shrinking. Ray tries to jump into that monster's ear, but it doesn't do anything. He just smashes his head on the concrete getting her out.

Samson tries blasting them with his toys, but to no one surprise whatsoever they don't work: dammit... The tearing us apart!

I tried throwing my explosives at the monsters, but once again they do nothing. It's impossible. How can their skin be this thick? How could they not be reacting to it at all? This is bullshit! They're unstoppable... And they're gonna kill us they're killing Kate so easily every time she makes a clone these guys kill them instantly and none of us are doing any damage to them monster girl and shrinking ray are already down we've got left is me the old man with a robotic suit and robot... Yeah we're fucked. I'm out.

I back up slowly really carefully. I know it's not very heroic, but who could blame me? I don't wanna die.

But then a voice from behind me speaks it's grey and yet he sounds like he's enjoying it: are you running away hero?

I look up and that's when I see him a man with burns all over his body and piercings wearing white with white hair

Throwing my explosives at him, but they get blown away by blue flames presumably coming out of his hands: what are you supposed to be? A human firecracker?... that wasn't very good at all in fact none of your team are is this truly the best you could do? The guardians of the globe this is the best they have. I can't even beat these mindless minions.

this guy is he from terrifying and the monsters I don't know what's going on, but I don't want any part of this anymore I don't care if I get yelled at I'm getting out of here because me living is what matters after all I still gotta take a toga out on a date later I promised her that well... Kind of she never really gave me a yes or no but I know she wants to I have a reason to live everyone else... Well they're lonely and no one will miss them I need to escape.

narrators point of view

The nomu were running rampant through the streets people were panicking at first they thought their troubles were over when the lizard leak was caught by the garden of the globe but when these monster showed up, they easily took out the new guardians and now the monsters were left undisturbed to run through the city disturbed

Or at least that's what they hoped for izuku flew in in his hero costume and delivered at Texas smash to the small, pale skinny one pushing him back a bit further

Eve joined him on the ground sure they were going through some stuff but even Eve had to admit this was more important

she looked around a the chaos: OK you're the expert on these things what do we do?

Izuku: i'll take care of the skinny grey one... Cecil told me that there was also a black one you need to take care of it but use fire. The black ones can regenerate but incinerated cells can't regenerate if you use fire on its head it should injured enough for it to pass out... And don't bother holding back these things are basically like walking corpses honestly if we end up killing them it might be considered a mercy

she nodded as the two separated zuku stay to fight the small skinny creature that lunged for him however izuku used smoke cream to cover himself and then used black whip to grab the creature by its hands and then smashed it into the pavement using his leg at 15% cracking it skull on the pavement

Eve went to the source of the chaos of the blue flames where she saw the giant muscular nomu fighting what was left of the guardians of the globe and the ones that were left standing were in worse shape. Sam suit was all but destroyed and there was a pile of dead clones and robot was missing both of his arms and Rex was nowhere to be found.

she saw the giant monster smash into the ground grading a dust cloud to cover itself as it just appeared behind Kate ready to smash her again. This time Eve was there to save her as she used her powers to create a heat blast, forcing the monster back.

Black Sampson noticing Eve: atom Eve!

The monster managed to get its footing back as it's body regenerated from the heat blast, but not completely

Eve: deku was right you can only regenerate well then...

using our powers, she flew straight forward, grabbing the creature by its face in a split second as her arms began to light up with pink fire: let's see you come back from this

She ignited the flames that came out of her hands and the monster screamed in pain as it fell to the floor as it body heated up from the inside until there was nothing left but a scarred corpse for its head. It was still alive but it couldn't move anymore.

Eve: incinerated itself can't regenerate

Kate called out: eve behind you!

she turned around just to see the chainsaw nomu charging at her she got ready to fight, but then in a lightning bolt green bullet came down from the sky, crushing the creatures head while it was admitted advance

Deku had dealt with the creature: well... That didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would

Eve: well like you said you've seen these creatures before you know how to fight them. I'm still surprised you said that these were low-level/mid-level and they were able to take down the guardians that's scary.

Izuku: yeah but you wanna know what it's even worse... These things don't think for themselves they would need orders to attack which makes me wonder where is the real person in charge

Dabi called up from the rooftop: that would be me nice to see you again deku it's been awhile

Izuku greeted his teeth: I should've known who else could've make blue flames

The walking blue Inferno laughed: I guess you're right I wasn't really that subtle about it, but I didn't need to be. I just needed to see how well these guardians dealt with a similar problem our world had to go through and I have to say I'm not impressed. These are the best superheroes in the world. They're not fit to be sidekicks on some backwater agency. You all should be ashamed. Hell one of them ran away halfway through the fight.

Eve roll her eyes she could definitely tell who was the one who ran away: why don't you come down here and we'll show you what we can do

Dabi: yeah sorry but no as much as I would like to burn all of you to you nothing more than ash unfortunately I don't have the time nor are the patients besides we got what we came for. I'll be seeing you later izuku i'll tell you one thing the next time we meet it will be a real party

he opened his mouth and black sludge exited from it as it slowly began to engulf his body zuku race forward trying to catch the villain before you got away but it was too late by the time he got to the villain he had already been teleported away

Izuku: dammit he got away

Eve: that was a member of the league of villains right... What was his name dabi the guy that's on a suicide mission? What would you have to gain by attacking the street was he just testing the new guardians?

Izuku: maybe but he said something about getting what they needed which makes me wonder... Wait Kate how many clones did you make?

Kate, confused by the question: I don't know a lot of them died about I would say 80

Izuku: then why are there only 20?

Kate's eyes widen as she looked back around. He was right 60 of her dead clones were missing

Eve: wait you're not saying what? I think you're saying they did all this just to collect dupli-kates corpses why?

Izuku: I don't know, but I intend on finding out
