Seidou's Team

"I think he's warmed up," Miyuki announced and Azuma took his place in front of the plate. "Why are you so serious Ei-chan!" I called from the side with a cocky smirk. Sawamura just rolled his eyes at me and my smirk melted into a smile. He won't be able to throw with even half his strength. I thought not knowing Miyuki was thinking the same thing. Sawamura started to throw the pitch but his eyes locked in Azuma and he repositioned the aiming just at the last minute so it hit the plate.  "Time out!" Miyuki called and Azuma looked at him in irritation. "What? If you needed a plan you should have said something before!" He snapped and I crossed my arms brushing my blue hair out of my face. As they talked I saw Sawamura look at the catcher in surprise. Miyuki slung an arm around Sawamura and I laughed at his expression. "What kind of baseball have you been playing. The best pitches are a work of art between the Pitcher and the catcher," The brunett lectured and I smiled with a slight nod of agreement. Come on Ei-chan can you can do it I mentally cheered. "You just need to trust him and throw your best pitch. The ones you throw to me!" I chimed in making them look at me. I have Sawamura a thumbs up as Miyuki took the catchers place again. I smiled softly when Sawamura prepared to throw. His shoulders loosened I noted as his arm whipped down and it shot past the batter into the catchers mitt. "That's a strike... right?" Miyuki asked Azuma obviously knowing the answer. "Good one the batter couldn't even move!" He shouted which made Azuma embarrassed. "Stupid! Just making sure he can throw a strike!" The batter shot back getting back into position. Another pitch. Miyuki asked for it on the inside and I looked at Sawamura worried. "We don't usually do a lot of inside pitches but you can do this Ei-chan," I murmured watching the game closely. Sawamura threw it and Azuma struck a fowl.  "Wow what a fast swinger!" I voiced in awe. My lips molded into a smirk to bad he's already going pro I would've loved to play against him. I thought my eyes narrowing. A few more pitches and no matter what Azuma swing at the balls which made my smirk grow. I really want to play, I thought and called out to Miyuki "Aye! Give me a turn will ya!" Miyuki laughed apologizing and the game paused as Miyuki came to switch with me. "So how did you like catching them? Pretty great huh?" I asked eagerly making the catcher laugh. "Yeah they're something else." He answered and I high fived him before taking his place on the field. "Let's get this started shall we Ei-chan?!" I asked chuckling as he showed an annoyed expression. For the first fwe throws I stayed on the inside and then for this one I raised my knee so my foot was on the ground. Sawamura knew this position and the grin on his face confirmed it. Give me your best pitch right here brother. Sawamura took a step back chuckling and I smirked. Show'em what you got. He threw it. It sailed right down the middle and Azuma roared with arrogance and swing just barely missing the ball as it landed with a SMACK in my mit.  "Nice Pitch," I smiled tightening my grip on the ball. Time seemed to freeze as everyone registered that Azuma struck out then my brother yelled out triumphantly as the game ended.

"What is up with Eijun? He's been spacing out ever since you guys got back from Tokyo," Gramps told me and I blinked with a shrug before going to check on him. "Hey Ei-chan," I greeted opening the door to his room and going to sit on the bed. "Ei-chan?" I called again and he looked up at me with a blank stare. "Thinking about Miyuki?" I asked and he nodded picking up his baseball magazine and finding the picture of the catcher. "Yeah. He's amazing," he answered and I kneeled down in front of him and with a serious expression said "Don't you go cheating on me Ei-chan," Sawamura turned bright red and cried out in shock getting really flustered as I laughed. "It's not Funny Kaito!" He snapped and crossed his arms before we went quiet. SawaMura started looking at our team pictures in his room and let out a long breathy sigh. "We're the ones who dragged them into sports. Some of them didn't even like sports but they didn't complain. We can't quit now," Sawamura voiced and I grunted in agreement. "Whatever you decide is my answer too," I spoke up as I stood. "You're my partner and we have to stick together." I added with a smile.

The next day I patted Sawamuras back sympathetically as he grumbled and rubbed sleep out off his eyes. "It's no use stressing over it Ei-chan," I tried to reason as we entered our classroom. "Kaito! Eijun! Congrats!" They exclaimed and we both stared at them in confusion. "How did you know?" I asked and they all started telling us how Grandpa Eitsuko came to their house to tell them. I sighed then Wakana spoke up "Your Grandpa told me that you've been acting weird since you came back. You guys probably moved by something in Tokyo." She explained and I rubbed the back of my head guiltily while Eijun froze growing angry.  Later that evening Eijun still spaced out making me sigh before I slammed my chopsticks down stood up and stocked over to him. I knelt beside him and roughly turned him to look at me. "Ei-chan! That's enough." I said firmly and he looked at me in surprise. "Sure we're going to a weird baseball Highschool by ourselves but that doesn't break of our bonds, they will still be cheering for us." I explained handing him the present they made us. We both got baseball hats with all our friends little notes of encouragent. He stared at what I wrote. You don't just try once and give up forever. Never give up Ei-chan. I put my hat on slid my fingers from one side of the bill to the other. "We represent them Ei-chan." I said curtly before returning to my food and eating again. "I'm gonna go to Tokyo." He answered and I looked up just in time to shoot off on his bike to talk to the others.

And then it was time. Half a year already went by and now we were laughing and joking one last time before me and Sawamura went to Seidou. "He came to my house and asked me to slap him!" Asahi remeniced and I pouted at our friend. "Aw I wish I was given a chance to do that. Ne! Ei-chan can i?" I asked eagerly with a joking edge to my voice. "No!" He immediately denied and we all broke into laugher as we came to the train station. As we were saying goodbye on the platform Nobu started explaining how we were patient and always helping them play baseball. "You guy are our heros!" They said as we stepped into the train. Sawamura started getting teary eyed and I just rubbed his back soothingly. "We're representing them huh? Then we have to make it to finals," I whispered to him slinging an arm over his shoulders as we headed to our new chapter: Seidou High.
