CHAPTER-13 (A)

A ring of her phone had broken her thoughts about him.

She immediately accepts the call expecting a small amount of care from the other side. Because it the person didn't care about her then why will she call her.

Khushi: Hello Di.

The opposite person has no interest to hear Khushi's talks.

Payal: Khushi, vo diamond necklace jo tumein daadi ne diya tha na, woh kaha hain?

(Khushi, where is your diamond necklace that Daadi gifted you?).

A flash of hurt ran across her heart. Her sister, her own blood sister gives importance to a silly diamond necklace rather than she who is away from her home. Doesn't she hold any importance in her sister's life? Whom she is kidding? Of course, she doesn't hold any importance in her life. Her sister's call broke her chain of thoughts.

Payal: Where is it? I need to attend a party. Tell me soon. I am getting late.

Khushi: Di, it is in my locker, Di. It's.......

Before hearing her completely her sister cut the call abruptly.

She sighs, only God knows what will happen next.

Khushi's Room

Payal enters Khushi's room in a hurry. She immediately moves towards Khushi's cupboard. She tries to find Khushi's locker inside the cupboard.

Arnav was going towards his room. He hears some shuffling sound from the room beside his, which of course Khushi's. A thought crosses his mind. She called him so many times. Is there something happened and she returned home? But how can she return home alone? To solve his confusions, he moves towards Khushi's room. Her room door is closed but still, some sounds are coming from her room like she is searching for something. He gently opens her room.

Arnav: Bacha, what......

His sentence died midway by seeing the most unexpected person in his Bacha's room.

Payal stopped searching the locker key by hearing the familiar voice. She immediately turns to him. She is little afraid of knowing that she has no escape now. By masking her emotions with an I don't care look she faces him.

Arnav was surprised seeing Payal in Khushi's room. By noticing the disoriented state of the cupboard, he understood what she is here for?

Arnav: What are you doing in Khushi's room? He asks in a stern voice.

Payal: It is my sisters' room. I have the right to do whatever I want in this house.

Arnav gives a sarcastic laugh looking at her.

Arnav: Your sister? (He mocks her). Which sister are you talking about? According to my knowledge, you don't care whether your sister is dead or alive. Now, out of the blue how come you consider her as your sister?

Payal: That's none of your business. She said in an angry tone.

Arnav: Every damn thing regarding her is my business. He roars.

Payal: Oh Really! You are saying like, you are the only well-wisher in her life. Don't forget Arnav you are not less than me.

Realization dawns on him. He knows she is telling the truth. He immediately shrugs his thoughts and tries to concentrate on the current scenario.

Arnav: However, I am behaving with her that is not your concern. The point is what are you doing in Khushi's room in her absence? What are you searching in her cupboard?

Payal knows he will not leave her without answers. So, she decides to tell the truth.

Payal: I called Khushi and asked her permission.

Arnav: That doesn't answer my question. I asked you about what were you searching in her cupboard?

Payal becomes frustrated due to his questions and behaviour. So, she blurts out everything.

Payal: I was searching for the diamond necklace that Daadi had gifted her. I asked her permission.

Arnav: Asked her??? ( He chuckles sarcastically)Seriously??? You must have ordered her. He said in a mocking tone.

Payal: If she doesn't have any problem, then why are you fussing over it? She said in an irritated tone.

Arnav: Haan hain mujhe problem. Uski koi cheez ko chune ka haq meine kisi ko nahi diya hai. Use karna to door ki baat hain. He roared.

( Yes, I have a problem with it. I didn't give anyone the honour to touch her things. Using her things is far from that).

Payal: Voh to meri behen hai. Tum hote kon ho mujhe yeh bataane wala ki mujhe haq nahi hai?

(She is my sister.  Who are you to tell me that I don't have any right?)

Arnav: How dare you to say something like that to me? Don't forget who am I? He said arrogantly.

Payal: I didn't forget anything. You are the one who forgot everything. Apni aukat phool gaye hai to main yaad dilathi hoon. She smirks at him.

(If you have forgotten your status let me help you in reminding it).

A flash of hurt and realization passed across his mind. She is right, he indeed forgotten his status.

He immediately masks his emotions and yells at Payal.

Arnav: Get out. He said with anger.

Payal shivers hearing his voice but doesn't move due to shock.

Arnav: I SAID GET OUT DAMMIT....... By showing his hands towards the door.

Hearing his roar, she immediately exits the room by cursing him and bangs the door. The door closes due to the force.

He silently sits on the bed feeling dejected and thinks about what Payal had said. His painful past flashes across his mind. A lone tear escapes from his eyes. Suddenly his mobile started vibrating in his pocket breaking his thoughts. By composing himself, he took the phone from his pocket. Seeing the name flashing on the phone, he doesn't know whether to be happy or sad. The vibration ended by signalling that the opposite person cut the call before it ends. He suddenly felt sad and looks away from his phone. His eyes caught the mess up the state of Khushi's cupboard. He moves towards it to close the door. Suddenly something peeking from the cupboard caught his attention. He immediately recognises what it is. His hands shivered by taking it from the cupboard. By caressing it he gently whispers "Doll".

GURUKUL HOSTEL

Khushi called Arnav again and by seeing him not answering her call she cut the call before the ring stops. She is hurt due to his ignorance. She was calling him when something came across her mind. Daayi Maa had told her to give some time to Arnav. She should not irritate him by her care. She is ready to wait. But she knows without talking to him, she can't live in peace. But if this wait gives her Annav back to her she is ready to bear the pain. He needs some time to understand her importance in his life. By realising this fact, she cut the call before it ends automatically. She heard the warning bell for dinner and rushed to the canteen to have something. She skipped breakfast and lunch, she is hungry. She left the phone in her table and rushes out for having dinner.

    After half an hour she returned to her room after having dinner. She didn't get any new friend in hostel also. She wishes to make one despite knowing Arnav's warning. But people here are so self-centric that nobody is even introducing themselves by seeing a new person in their environment. She felt loneliness creeping around her. She shrugs these thoughts and sits on her table to do her homework. Suddenly her phone light blinks indicating the arrival of a message. She unlocks her phone and immediately become happy seeing the sender of the message. She opens the message to read.

Hello dears!!!

I know you all must be waiting for the teaser update. When I was writing the teaser, I thought I can wind it up in a single update. But, after writing I realize I need to write something more before rushing. Pardon me for my mistake. Forgive me, I am writing for the first time, so it didn't go as planned. Don't worry guys. I am updating Part-B within few hours which includes NK entry. Currently, I am working on it.
