John POV

Today was graduation. We had been home from our trip to New York for about a week now and it was time for graduation. You'd think that'd be a good thing, and it is a good thing for most people. Allow me to explain, if you couldn't tell I lived with my mother. My father was abusive so I couldn't stay with him, which is why those bruises were on my arms. (Chapter 1)

Now that all sound kinda bad but your probably like, but John you're not around him anymore what does he have to do with graduation, well. My mom invited him to my graduation. Let me clear one thing up, he HATES gay. He hates gay so much he doesn't like the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple because there in the gay flag.

"I'm scared" I told Alex. Alex had only recently been told about my dad. It was when I first found out he would be at the graduation, Alex had been confused on why that was a bad thing so I had to explain everything to him. 

"Don't be." Alex said reassuringly.

"He doesn't know I have a boyfriend" I told Alex, that startled him a bit. We already knew that the first chance my father got alone with me or Alex he would yell at us, and the thing was my mom planned for us to all eat dinner after graduation.

"Come on we're gonna be late!" My mom called. Me and Alex went downstairs and got in the car. I clung to Alex's arm.

"If he hits you I'll kick his ass" Alex swore. I shook my head. I didn't want anyone else getting hit. I was graduating this was suppose to be the best part of high school. Well at least Alex was here.

I sat down as they started calling names up. Alex was called a lot earlier than I was. I was one of the last few people called.

"John Laurens" Mr. Washington said. I got up and made my way over to him. He handed me my diploma and I went back to my seat.
I don't know if that's how it works I am only smol bean))

After the thing ended we all went to an after party. I had no interest in going, Lafayette and Mulligan dragged me along. Alex wanted to go too so I finally gave in. A lot of people were drinking at the party. I was offered alcohol multiple times, it annoyed me. Alex and Mulligan were almost drunk and Lafayette was hanging around me trying to get people to stop handing me alcohol.

A little later into the party Alex had gotten drunk and started flirting with me and asking me to be his boyfriend. I found this very amusing. I told Alex that I already had a boyfriend.

"Come onnn" Alex complained. I laughed.
"Sorry I already have a boyfriend" I said. Lafayette was beside me laughing.

Alex started walking away and I grabbed his hand. He turns around and put his arm around me. Drunk Alex was hilarious. I laughed again, "you're my boyfriend" I told him.

"I'm very lucky" he said kissing me. I pulled away still laughing. Lafayette had his arm rested on my shoulder, "Don't have to much fun" he winked. I pushed him.
"Lafayette!" I whined. Alex laughed and so did Lafayette. Mulligan came over and started flirting with Lafayette so I figured it was time to go.

Me and Lafayette had to basically drag Alex and Mulligan to the car. When we got in the car Alex passed out on me. I expected this to happen. Lafayette took a picture.

"Lafayette!" I snapped.
"I'll send it to you" he winked. I rolled my eyes and looked out the window.

When we got back Lafayette had to help get Alex off of me. I had to wait in the car forever as Lafayette tried to carry Mulligan inside. Lafayette claimed Alex was very light but I knew he was only making fun of me for being short so I just rolled my eyes.

"Just help me up" I said annoyed. He helped me up laughing. I went to my room and got into a hoodie and shorts then went to bed. Alex was on the couch asleep- well he was passed out.

After laying in bed awhile I realized my dad never came to my graduation. I was a bit relieved and hurt. I wanted to talk to Alex but it wouldn't do any good unless he was sober- and that he was not. It would just have to wait until morning.
