Henry shouted
with elation

"Tom, Henry!!
What are you two ding here"
Mike exclaimed

"We had to checking with our Chief of Police, but above all I had to check in on my friend. How are you holding up?"
Thomas replied

"I appreciate it.
I'm doing better,
been through worse"
Mike smiled

"You old ranger, no bullet is gonna keep you down, I heard it went through."
Henry mentioned

"Yes, it did, Glory be to God."
Mike replied

"Amen"
Thomas added

"Speaking about bullet, I wanna speak to you about the incident"
Thomas stated

"I'll be in the hallway"
Henry replied

"So what's up?"
Mike asked

"So you remember Joe right, the dude that shot you; of course you do, well we did a background check on the guy and apparently, he has no daughter."
Thomas stated

"What!!"
Mike exclaimed

"That's not even the scariest part, after interrogation, we learnt that he was actually hired to rob that place so that you could arrive on the scene so he could shoot you. It was all planned"
Thomas outlined

"No actually, this is where it gets deep; he was hired by Catherine Hutchinson." Thomas stated

"Catherine!!" Mike exclaimed "I can't believe this, Oh no, if she came after me then shell be going after Renée."
Mike worried

"That wont be an issue Mike; we already apprehended her, she currently in custody." Thomas reassured

"Ohh, Thank God"
Mike sighed in relief

"Thank you Tom."
Mike replied

"Just doing my job."
Thomas replied

"No, I mean.Thank you"
Mike replied

"Your welcome"
Thomas smiled

Mike had no idea when this phase would end,
But he was hopeful that he was guided by his great friend.
A friend he didn't know he needed,
Until the events of his downfall succeeded.
Renée on the other hand, wanted to believe,
But for another scheme she would not be deceived.
About to head out for lunch as she allows wattpad to install,
She receives out of nowhere an important call-

"Hello"
Renée answered

"Renée it's Tiffany from St. Josephs."
Tiffany replied

"Hey Tiff"
Renée replied

"I have some news regarding your sister" Tiffany added

"Oh no no no no, don't tell me that she's -" Renée exclaimed

"Oh no darling, I'm just updating you that her treatment has started, she's currently undergoing surgery as we speak, and by the looks of it, she'll be just fine."
Tiffany replied

"She's receiving treatment? Oh my God!!! Thank you Jesus!!!! But how? How is she receiving treatment? I didn't pay the fee." Renée enquired

"26 million dollars was deposited to her health fund for her surgery as well as all other medical expenses"
Tiffany outlined

"Oh my God, I'll be right there."
Renée replied

She grabbed her bag and ran through the door,
Tears of joy flowed from her eyes, dripping from her cheeks to the floor.

She was crying, smiling and laughing all at the same time,
It was like her emotions sky-rocketed like an ecstatic reaction with an enzyme.

Arriving at the hospital, in the surgical room she could not get in;
So she went to thank to person who allowed her surgery to begin.

"Hey"
Renée exclaimed

"Hi, didn't think I'd see you again"
Brandon replied

"I just came to tell you thank you for paying Michelles expenses, you have no idea how much this means to me, for once in a long time Im actually happy and I feel free and for that I thank you. I can't thank you enough"
Renée expressed

"It's okay, glad I could help to make a donation; you don't have to thank me it's nothing really"
Brandon replied

Only if my husband would care enough about me than his stupid aspirations of a yacht, he would rather buy a boat we don't need, than to make a small donation towards saving the life of my sister.
I mean, when you said you were gonna make a donation, I didn't think you would offer so much"
Renée said in a low tone

"Well, I wouldn't call it a lot"
Brandon expressed

"That's what a Good Samaritan would say" Renée chuckled

"Thank You!!"
She added as she
hugged him as tight as she could

Brandon replied

She came out his office, still in disbelief,
Michelle is undergoing surgery and that gave her some relief.
She fell deeper for Brandon, as that was such a selfless act,
But was contemplating if she should get her marriage back on track.
She walked over to the lobby to get some water,
But immediately, she heard a friendly voice called her-

"Renée you're here"
Tiffany shouted

"Tiff, oh my goodness, I was so wrapped up that I forgot to check in with you;
I was actually in Brandon's office. "
Renée outlined

"Brandon?"
Tiffany asked

"Dr. Hendricks"
Renée rephrased

"You cougar, but why though, I thought you would be more concerned with Michelle rather that checking out a hunk?"
Tiffany questioned

"That's the thing I was just thanking him for paying for Michelle's expenses, I just can't believe he paid for everything, I mean he did say he was gonna make a donation, but I didn't think he would pay it in full."
Renée replied

"Renée, Dr. Hendricks did not pay for Michelle's expenses. "
Tiffany replied

"What? What do you mean?"
Renée asked

"Dr. Hendricks donated $50,000 towards Michelles expenses."
Tiffany mentioned

"What!! Please check again,
I'm sure he paid it in full."
Renée demanded

"Renée, I assure you, he only paid $50,000 and that only covered her lumbar MRI and her blood tests. "
Tiffany outlined

"But if Brandon did not pay for Michelle's expenses, who did?"
Renée asked

"Your husband." Tiffany replied "I thought you knew when I called"
Tiffany added

Renée walked off breaking down in tears,
She rushed to Mike's room and into his eyes she stares.

Tears slowly began to flow down her cheeks,
As she realizes the change she had ignored for weeks.

"Renée, before you go,
I know you came to see you sister as you have no reason to see me.
I just want you to hear me out."
Mike asked

"Michael I-"
Renée replied

"Please let me finish"
Mike interjected

"I am sorry; I have been so selfish, for the past 7 years, I have trampled on you with my words and my actions. I have loved and given my attention to other things, when I should have loved you. And the last few weeks I have learnt to love and appreciate you in ways that I have never acknowledged before.
Renée, I do not want to live the rest of my life without you. I was foolish and unsupportive; not only did I betray my wife, but I betrayed my marriage, and brought about separation within my family. I hurt you and I hurt my kids, and I never want to feel that way again. I'm so sorry, I love you Renée."
Mike apologized

"You paid for Michelle's expenses?"
Renée asked

"I had to."
Mike replied

"Why, how?"
Renée questioned

"I went through the mail and I saw you paid off the mortgage, I knew that must have been a difficult task for you, I mean, your sister is in the other room and you decided to keep a roof over our heads instead of depositing it as a portion of the medical expense. I had to step in, I paid off your arrears at the bank and paid your sisters expenses, I even left your favorite Starbucks at work.
I just couldn't watch you do so much to uphold this family and your sister at the same time, its time some took care of you."
Mike replied

"You're the one who paid off the bank? But that's $50,000,000 and Michelle's expenses are exactly 26,000,000.
No you didn't, that's exactly 76 million dollars; your entire bank account, your life's savings!!!!"
Renée uttered

"Which means nothing if I'm not with you." Mike added

She kissed him without a second thought,
He apologized for how much they had fought.
He hugged her tightly; on her shoulder he cried
She embraced him as her husband and he embraced her as his bride.
They looked at each other in their tear-filled eyes,
For the deceit and lies, he apologized.
Thomas came to check in, but watched them for a while,
He gave them their space, as he walked off with a smile.

The evening was bliss, serene and euphoric;
She was all wrapped up in his warmth, although that's metaphoric.
Her new found love, she deeply digs,
As Thomas allows that love to be shared with their kids.

Joey, Joel, Renée and Mike,
Unusually different, remarkably alike.

"I missed having these jogs, it takes me back when I was a kid, we'd run around the meadows and roll down the countryside" Michelle replied

"Mom would call us for dinner, but we'd be under the oak tree by then"
Renée added

"I really missed having you around." Michelle replied

"Me too"
Renée smiled

"Now that my spine is realigned, I can go back to teaching yoga"
Michelle added

"I'm glad you finally get to go back to doing what you love."
Renée replied

"Yeah, it feels great, Thank you, for everything."
Michelle replied

Renée smiled
"You know sime thing weird happened yesterday.."
Renée replied

"Really, what's that?" Michelle asked

"I receivedmy mail as usual, but there was this one with no label and when I ripped it open, it said -This isn't Over!!!!!!, but it was written with lipstick, who does that?
Renée replied

"That sounds Psychotic"
Michelle replied

"You guys know you shouldn't be jogging so fast I could barely keep up"
Charlotte shouted
from the distance

Renée laughed

"Come on let's head home"
Michelle added

"You know you really got
a lot to be thankful for"
Charlotte stated

"You can say that again"
Michelle replied

"I do, I have all I need; a successful career, Two beautiful kids, a wonderful home, a healthy lifestyle and supportive friends, my sister, thanks be to God and a loving, supportive and well deserved husband, I am truly thankful."
Renée replied

"Amen to that."
Charlotte replied

"Hey, you back,
you know for a second,
I almost missed you"
Mike replied

"you know that's a lie,
it was more than a second"
Renée replied

"You know me too well"
as he kissed her

"Okay, so you two need to get a room" Michelle replied

Renée laughed

"And that's my cue to leave, see you at Prayer Meeting Mike, hope you bring Renée along" Charlotte replied

"Oh don't worry I will"
Mike smiled

"Bye Guys"
Charlotte replied

"Bye"
They all shouted

The sun continues to shine, flowers continue to bloom,
The grass is greener where you water it, love doesn't wear a costume.

The little things makes life worth living, reputation makes change unforgiving.
If it makes you happy, you don't need to discuss
