Chapter 11: Not Interested (Saigon)

"Saigon."

Lifting my head, I groaned. Jagger already came by to bug me. What did he want now?

"Hey, I switched up the schedule. I wanted someone with a bit more experience to go with you, so I moved Archer to another day."

"What?" I frowned. "Why?" I rubbed my eyes. "Archer has experience."

"Darius thought it would be better to change it."

"Whatever, fine." I slumped back down and noticed that Archer was no longer by the waterfall. How long had I been asleep?

Jagger put his foot on my side and rocked me back and forth. "Why are you so moody today?"

"Bad night. Leave me alone." I wrapped his arm around my face.

"Everyone is having a bad night, by the sounds of it."

Light footsteps approached us. The kissing and mushy talk let me know who it was.

Raven set his bag down and dipped his foot in. "It's really hot. We should go further down."

Jagger nearly pushed me in with his foot. "Come on."

"It's noisy out there."

"You're going to pass out. So either come with us or shift."

"You'd rather have my hairless ass out for the pack to see?" I propped up my head.

He shoved my legs into the water. "So dramatic. Go outside." He pointed.

I bobbed in the water. "Are you asking or telling me?" I said with a smirk.

Jagger's ear bent backward. "You are definitely related to the alpha and beta. Stop messing around and go outside." He took Raven by the hand.

"What's wrong with my dad?" asked my cousin.

"Nothing."

I grinned to myself. Pushing buttons was what my family was good at. I waded through the water to an area that mixed with the river. It felt great, and by the number of people around us, the pack agreed.

Raven dumped out his bag and started organizing things. He passed Jagger a bottle.

"I'm good. I'm just going to rinse off."

"But it looks so nice." He sat up on his knees. "I could do it for you."

I chuckled at the pair. Raven was awful at keeping the PDA to a minimum. The sub was looking for any excuse to feel up his big powerful, dominant. I smiled to myself, trying to keep my laughter from slipping out.

Jagger dunked himself under the water before sitting on the edge. Raven squirted some of the soap in his hand and scrubbed his mate's back. It was too much. I was struggling to keep quiet.

"What?" Jagger frowned at me.

"Nothing," I laughed, though, it nearly came out as a snort.

"What?" Jagger looked around. "What is so funny?"

I couldn't hold it anymore and started to laugh. It wasn't even that funny but Jagger's confused face was too much. "Raven was told to cool it." I shot my cousin a smirk. "You're doing great."

Raven bristled at the comment. He breathed out through his nose before his expression softened. "What do you mean? I helped you clean your fur. Why wouldn't I do the same for my mate?" He leaned into Jagger's side.

My muzzle fell open. What had happened to my innocent cousin while I was gone?

"What?" Jagger looked between us. "You did what?"

"Nothing, so calm down," I muttered. The situation was no longer funny.

Raven handed his mate the bottle. "I think Saigon wants to impress someone, so I helped him add a little flair to his coat. Rich and shiny, right?" He massaged the black werewolf's shoulders.

"You like someone?" Jagger examined the bottle. "Who? Does Darius know? Do your parents know?"

"Does Aunt Karen know?" added Raven, scrubbing between Jagger's ears.

"Stop it! Alright, you win." I held up my hands. "You got me, Raven. I'll stop. Enjoy doing whatever you're doing." I gave him a passive wave.

Jagger's eyebrows pinched together. "Hold up. We're not done. Who do you like?"

"No one," I said under my breath.

Raven kept his muzzle shut and continued to massage his mate's back. The damage was done and I had to admit the sub had learned a few things. I blamed Jesse.

"Then why would—" he read the bottle. "Rich and Shiny, black fur. No one does this unless they have a mate."

I shrugged. "I have red markings," I replied. "It tends to make us want to be better than everyone else. And I do approve." I wagged my finger in the air. "It does work."

Jagger shook his head. "I'm not buying it." He turned to Raven. "Who does he like?"

The werewolves around us were starting to listen in. The only ones who were still talking were a few pups playing in the rocks.

"I don't like anyone."

Raven smiled and kissed his mate's cheek. "Saigon doesn't like anyone. I was teasing."

"No more secrets!" Jagger looked around. "I can't take any more secrets. Just tell me."

"Oh my god," I groaned. "Look at what you started."

Raven bowed his head to hide a smile. "He doesn't, Jagger. Honest."

"I find that hard to believe because everyone is acting like they know something and I don't. If I'm the next alpha, tell me these things. I've had enough awkward conversations for one day."

I noticed Archer freeze mid-step as he walked out of the cave. I shook my head. "There's nothing to tell."

"Don't tell me it is a human?" said Jagger. "Is that why you didn't tell me on patrol?"

"I can't show a human my werewolf form," I snapped.

"Who is it, Saigon?" said a voice behind me.

I glanced back to see Willow standing there with her friends. It felt like the whole pack was circling in. Why did it matter if I liked someone? Well, I liked a male dominant and that was kind of a big deal.

"You've been acting so weird lately," teased Willow. "We're all waiting to hear who the lucky girl is."

"I'm gay," I stated. I scowled at the water as I felt the heat from earlier enter my chest. "I'm not interested in any girls, so it doesn't involve you." I stared directly at Willow.

Little by little werewolves moved away and some even left the area. Raven's ears splayed to the side.

With a sigh, I walked to the edge and lifted myself out. "Well, now the pack knows. I'm actually bi," I laughed, trying to lighten the mode.

"I'm sorry." Raven wrung his hands in his lap. "Everyone is always teasing me. I didn't think it would end up with you having to come out."

I clasped his hand. "I was being an ass. I deserve it, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. You're gay, so is Jagger, my parents, and Daven is bi-ish, I guess." I looked forward. "I don't really know about Daven."

The sub smiled. "Well, welcome to the club." He giggled before hugging me.

Jagger slipped into the water to wash off. He emerged and his coat did look better.

"You knew Saigon liked guys?" asked Raven.

The black werewolf nodded. "I asked him when we were on patrol. Sorry, everyone was staring at you like they knew something. I'm stressed out as it is. I don't need any more secret relationships. Mine was hard enough."

Raven hugged the dominant's neck. "We're both sorry."

"I'm not. The girls have been trying to get my attention since I got here. Now they know it's a lost cause, and the men around here will stop hating me.

"Hate you?" Raven frowned.

"I'm competition. They weren't fond of Jagger either for the same reason."

"But now, he has me"—the sub smiled—"so you're no longer competition." He kissed his mate.

"You've had me won over for years."

The couple started kissing and that was my sign to go. I swam toward the cave and stopped right before it was too hot to stand. It wasn't under the best circumstances, but now the pack knew I swung both ways. Well, one very direct way that led directly to Archer. I scanned the area. Archer was gone. I rested my chin on the edge. Was he avoiding me? With a sigh, I climbed out and shook off. My bad night was turning into an awful day.
